ABC Books

I came across this book just browsing one day. My husband and I absolutely love sports especially football. My young sons are coming up the same way and thier dad can't wait to be their coach. This book is about Mr. and Mrs. Wistrom raising their three active boys Chance, Grant, and Tracey and the trials that they went through. From their dad being their first coach to each one being and All-American in college and playing college football. I fell in love with this book. I have read it more than once and shared it with friends and family who have enjoyed it also. The stories of this family are funny, sweet, and charming. It is also wonderful to know that their are men like Mrs. Wistrom's sons that my boys and other children can look up to in this day of time. I highly recommend this book for anyone to read for you will surely enjoy it.

I like this book because it is brief and to the point, but also because it made me think about stuff that most books on multiculturalism ignore -- like the importance of white studies, and the need to really think about assessment practices or tracking practices. The sections on community involvement were very useful. So were the sections on postmodern ways to understand identity. This author makes all of these confusing theories directly relevant to my work! Finally, a book that is cutting edge and also useful to practitioners!

I bought this book to read to my daughter and love it. The illustrations are beautiful and eye catching.

This would be a great gift for a baby shower for a baby girl, or as addition to a gift basket. I'll be buying the blue one for friends with boys. :)

The bold, vivid, and slightly post-modern stylized artwork impress the words and images upon young beginning readers in this most enthusiastic alphabet book. Written and illustrated by David Frampton, My Beastie Book Of ABC is highly recommended for family, daycare, preschool, kindergarten, and community library collections.

My Christmas ABC book is a great way for children to learn the alphabet and about the true meaning for Christmas at the same time. The book features a christian symbols for every letter of the alphabet. The illustrations are wonderful and the story is simple for the youngest of readers.

We liked the cute illustrations in the book. We also like the fact that the book focused on the true meaning of Christmas, which for our family means the birth of Jesus. The book is educational and fun!

We could recommed this book to kids Ages 4-8. The book is failry short and will keep their attention.

We're on our second copy of "My First ABC" book by Jane Bunting. Our two daughters loved the first copy and now, five years later, our third child can't get enough. It is his first choice off the shelf as he waddles over and slaps it into my lap. As we flip through the pages we work on colors, objects, and letters. It's not uncommon to spend a good 15 to 20 minutes on this book at a single sitting, and for a 19 month old boy, that's worth writing home to mom about.

My children really enjoyed this book and so I am surprised that it is out of print. It is a sturdy and colorful little boardbook that has survived at least 5 children - 3 of my sisters and my two. And my sister bought it used!

Each letter pair (capital and lowercase) is printed in large clear type in the upper left hand corner of either one or two pages. (Some letters are on single pages, others have double pages.) Colorful pictures of people or things that begin with the letter are then shown below the letters with their name in print.

Bb for example has the following people and things shown on its two pages: bread, boat, beans, bicycle, baby, buttons, bananas, books, ball, belt, butterfly, bear, bowl and beans.

It sounds like alot, but the placement is good and my kids had no problem discerning what was what.

Five stars. BUT unless you can find it at a yard sale, I would say these prices are too high.

When I first saw this book, I passed it up. It is spiral bound, has many half pages and cut outs, and the pages could easily be torn. However, in my quest to find just the right ABC book, this book was the one to win a place on my son's bookshelf. Despite my page-tearing concerns, this is a wonderful ABC book. It is a very visually stimulating book with tons of bright, colorful photos. Most letters have more than one page of photos and therefore, more than one or two examples of each letter. All of the pictures either ask questions ("How many APPLES do you see") or give a description ("A bunch of juicy GREEN GRAPES make a GREAT snack. GOBBLE them up!"), and every question or description has every word that represents that letter in bold text. Even though they can be very easily torn, the half pages and cut outs add a lot of personality to this book. It's not an ordinary book and it really holds my son's attention. He loves to make sure he finds every page and the surprises they bring. He has so much fun with this book, he doesn't even realize he is learning!! Having said all that, I think this book is a great book for every child trying to learn his/her ABC's!!

"My Mini ABC's" is a must-have alphabet book for Christian families. This set of alphabet books is perfect for little hands. The pictures and words are awesome and at the perfect level for children learning their alphabet. What a great way to introduce your childen to the Bible and to the alphabet at the same time. As a Christian and an educator, I definitely recommend this book to all families with young children.
