Avis Harley is a genius! In this book (and her previous Fly With Poetry) she has made understanding poetry fun and inviting. She uses the alphabet to present different types of poems, such as A for Alliteration, B for Ballad, etc. Then she has written an example of that kind of poem, illustrated it with an insect or spider, and has given a definition of the form. These books are perfect for getting kids (and adults) excited about trying their own poetry forms.

This book is a great tool for helping your child write. My child especially needs to go over his abc writing all the time , so you can just write and erase.

the legend of sleepy hollow is a mystery story it made me feel exited.thisis a summery about it.just a ordanary man in a little town named ichabod crane. and he fell in love one day same as another named brom they both had a crush on the same girl named katriena . she danced with ihabod every night . then they got marryed. brom got enveous then he left ichabod out cold with his horse . I would reccomend this book for people who like exciting adventures.

This is a terrific book for small children. Visually, it is beautiful. The marriage of Leonardo's drawings with real life images are very engaging. The author ably captures the breadth and beauty of Leonardo's genius and presents it in a very appealing, child friendly form. This delightful little book is a must for any child's library.

The LetterFun ABC Book is a great way to engage children and their imagination. Our children wanted to read the book, create and write new words, new stories and draw their own picture for their own new book. It was amazing!

Plus I noticed on the cover the book is by Eleanor Davenport Reynolds, Elissa and Evan's Mom. I thought that was very special.

A dear friend from the UK send me this book last week and told me that her little girl had learned the alphabet from it in the space of just a few weeks. I tried it on my 3-year-old boy who, up to this point, had not shown any particular interest in letters (even though he has many educational toys that try to teach the alphabet). He loves this book! It is amazing. Nothing had caught his interest before. Now he walks around all day trying to recognize letters. He is doing so well. So funny, that such a simple book can be so effective. I guess you have to see it to believe it, though. One tip: Don't use the letter's name, but only the sound it makes (to start with). This seems a good way to avoid confusion. The "official" name of the letter can be added at a later point. Good luck and enjoy!!!

As always, Trina Hyman's intricately detailed illustrations are delightful; Each page of this small book features a letter, illuminated with children in a tiny world of objects that correspond with the letter being illustrated. My three year old friend and I enjoyed an afternoon of "picture hide-&-seek" with the illustrations. It's a fun book for teaching letter-recognition and for keeping the children involved - they can tell YOU about the story in the picture! Plus the tiny format is just the right size for a little child's hands, although perhaps not large enough for more than one child to look at at once.

Airplanes, Bicycles and Cameras, Dogs, Eggs and Frogs and so it goes in this little board book, one of the two board books, that I used to introduce my girls to their ABC's. It seems like only yesterday. My how time flies.

There are not too many words in this treasure of a book, but that's made up for by Mercer Mayer's beautiful illustrations. This book will give you and your baby many hours of enjoyment as you laugh and giggle at the little critter as he dresses as a king (for K) and rolls in the leaves (for L).

My best friend brings her eleven month old boy, Jason, over two or three times a week and my six-year-old girls sort of pretend babysit as the cuddle the baby and show him pictures and read from this book and the other little critter board books. My girls loved them when they were little and they love sharing them with Jason and I love watching them do it. Every mommy should have these in there arsonel, they are just a wonder.
