The antics of Alaska's three bears - polar, black and grizzly, help teach tthe alphabet from A to Z. Both capital and small letters are included. Shannon is one of Alaska's most popular childrens book illustrators.

There are a great deal of alphabet books out there. They tend to use certain standbys: "A is for apple," "B is for ball." I like this book because it has the ABCs in the context of a child's life. For example, "G is for grandma" and "V is for visit." I think "Y is for yellow boots" makes a lot more sense for a child than "Y is for yacht," which is what the "Baby ABC" book uses. The illustrations are evocative and beautiful. I highly recommend it.

Alice's ABC's, written by Demetra Reid, is a beautifully illustrated and well crafted children's book. There was no hesitation in the decision making process when asked by the author to publish this educational gem. What I love most about Alice's ABC's is the wonderful eager to learn character that Ms. Reid has created.

Illustrator Dena Deffenbaugh brought Alice to life with colorful and fun, action illustrations. The book is perfect for youngsters just beginning to read, as well as, for children who have mastered the English alphabet and are ready to conquer a simple storyline. As parents strive to choose interesting books that promote reading, Alice's ABC's will entertain and encourage children to develop a love for reading. My two elementary school age granddaughters enjoyed reading this book.

This is definitely a great addition to any library.

This book goes into more extensive vocabulary, including blends, the schwa sound (a and the) and digraphs. Kids need decodable text. The animals are wonderfully drawn, story lines sweet and simple. The animals become friends to children.

John Suter Linton has the unique ability to get you thinking not just about the crime - but also the victim. This book takes a compasionate look at a terrible crime and unlike many true crime books steers clear of becoming sensationalist. A great look at how the police operates and an accomplished writing style that has you reading the book the way you would a novel - you don't want to put it down!

Recommend his other books too - they all focus on a different aspect of a crime - the victim, criminal, police man etc

I love to read alphabet books to my 17 month-old son and out of at least 12 different ones, this is by far my favorite. Magical illustrations!
