I have purchased and read many books on this subject, but none have come close to the detail and balance of this book. It covers a range of topics that most warfare books leave out. After reading this book from cover to cover, there should be no reason why anyone cannot live a victorious, well balanced, well educated, christian life.

This book has the teaching and tools that will take you from being a defeated christian to a victorious one. This teaching will show you how to be on the "offensive" opposed to the "deffensive". Your eyes will be opened and you will never look at things in the natural the same again. Being Armed for the Spiritual Battle will be your goal and fighting the good fight will never be taken lightly ever again!

I thoought the Horn Book review was rough on this delightful picture book. My children have loved it from toddlerhood-- especially because we can "sing" our way through it (and sing over and over if the page turning pace is fast, slow, etc-- it doesn't matter). There is plenty of detail and nostalgia in the careful illustrations-- also a hit with Nana! And it depicts black and white fans side by side, with nods to Jackie Robinson. The end notes are fascinating too. Enjoy!

The illustrations is this book are so good that they made me love baseball even more than before. My 2 year old sings the song all of the time now. I wanted to buy the hard cover version after checking it out of the library, but I can't since it's out of print.

We received this book almost before my DD was born. My daughter loved it right away for the big, bright drawings with high-contrast colors. Then she loved reaching out to touch and pat the feely areas. Now she is 20 months-old and has rediscovered this and the other 2 we have (That's not my Puppy, and That's not my Dinosaur). She likes to find the mouse on every page (who I named Fiona, after the author). We are now working on colors, too.
My nit-picky complaint about this book and most of the ones in the series is that "my animal" ends up being male just about every time! All through the book, the animals are neutered, i.e., "That's not my bear. Its nose is too rough." But on the final page, it's all "That's my bear! His ears are so fluffy."
In a vain attempt to inject some gender equity into my daughter's life, I always read the books as if all the animals are female. I'm sure most of you are shaking your heads and making "posh" noises, but books with an all male cast bothered me from an early age.
Finally, there are a lot of the same sort of bear in this book - mostly brown bears and pandas. No koalas! No grizzlies! No bears with teeth that are too big! Oh well. We love this book anyway.

We received this as a gift for my son when he was born. This was the first book that he really could sit still for, touching the "fuzzy", "fluffy", "shiny" element on each page. Even before the classic Pat the Bunny, our boy was patting the bears.

The pictures are very clean and simple, each page is a different bright color, and despite the seeming lack of detail, there is a fair amount of amusement with the little mouse popping up in each page.

My one complaint? The panda bear appears twice!

This book is great and interactive. It is the perfect gift and enjoyed by my kids immensely. I am a teacher and i find the books and cd roms on computer keep kids alive during a lesson of reading.

I'd been looking all over for this book for my daughter. I had found copies with cut-outs that risked being destroyed by someone as young as her. This version fit her age group just right.

I was reading a different version of this story tonight to my daughter and instantly went back in time to this very book. I just had to look it up online and this version is the one. My mother read it to me as a child 25 years ago. I LOVED it!! As you can see, 25 years later and I remember it as one of my favorites. I'm going to purchase it now for my own children. GREAT BOOK!

This is a very good book for very all ages.

This can teach kids numbers, you could sing to this book. You can have props, and have the children act it out.

I am sorry that I didn't see the 1,000 max. Lord I can't begin to do that.

But I know from reading to children that they would love this book. The colors were great and they showed different kids of people.

This is a great little book to share with an infant. The books are short enough to hold the childs attention while the finger puppets are a great way for the child to associate the characters in the book with something tangible.

A wonderfully illustrated book that retells the "This Piggy Went to Market" with a Christmas theme. Billin-Frye's 3D-style cut-outs work well with the pull tabs, which definitely bring an immediate chuckle to any youngster. Few words, great graphics, guaranteed laughs.

Any child who enjoys playing the familiar rhyming game of "This Little Piggy..." will truly love this fun holiday adaptation. The book has clear illustrations and sturdy interactive flaps My daughter asks t read it again and again. She loves to make the reindeer pop up and can even read the story to me. You won't be disappointed.

My daughter and I enjoyed using these books (also purchased the one on Greece). The activities were useful and relevant to our study, and the information was well-written. Highly recommend.

As a home educator, I'm always looking for books that will draw my kids into the time period that they are studying. Tools of the Ancient Romans does this perfectly. Through reading and hands-on activities, kids will gain an understanding of what life was like in ancient Rome. The main text is full of information that kids will find interesting, and peppered throughout are sidebars offering further detail. Each activity relates to the text as kids try their hand at making projects such as an abacus, an amphora or a Roman medal. These activities are great for letting all kids delve into the ancient Roman era, but especially good for kinesthetic learners, as they can get their hands involved in learning!

These are great!! Kids love them and will look at them over and over and over!

The 'Touch and Feel' series of books by renowned publishing house 'Dorling Kindersley' answer all the questions a parent has when choosing baby and toddler books. Has it got loads of pictures? Is it durable? Is it educational? Is is funny? Is it tactile? Will it help them get to sleep!!!??? The answer to all these questions is a resounding 'YES!' So, we've read 'Jungle Animals', now all we've got to do is find room for all the other great books in the 'Touch and Feel' series

It is beautiful, you should have a coloring book like this one.

Ming-Ju Sun is a favorite paper doll artist of mine, and this book helps show why. The lovely lines and clean colors show why the kimono, while no longer a part of a modern Japanese wardrobe, will forever be concidered a wonderful artform.
My only wish with this book is that it had other clothing besides the formal kimono. Perhaps "Traditional Kimono Fashions" would have been a better name. Still, Ming-Ju Sun remains high on my list.
