This book should be read by adults as well as children. If you are a individual starting your own business for the first time and without any knowledge of how to manage a business then the lemonade stand is where you should start. chapters 10, 11 and 12 were very helpful for me. A well written book Mr Modu.

A must for those who want entrepreneurial children

I found Emmanuel Modu's book to be a necessity for all parents. Not just because it helps them encourage their kids into the business world, but also because it provides a guidline on how to help children become independent thinkers and happy individuals. Mr. Modu pinpoints many mistakes paretns [unintentionally]make while trying to teach their kids about the ways of life. After reading "The Lemonade Stand", parents will be able to overcome such mistakes and help groom their offspring into freethinking and dyamic people. If you take evertying written in this book to heart, you may be raising the next Rockeffellar or Larry Ellison ;)

My favorite Wiggle, Greg, is in front of this book, where he's telling us about his Network Wiggles' News...and Captain Feathersword's weather forecast with his magic weather sword and Dorothy the Dinosaur being a news reporter, and much more.

I find the book cover very cute because, it's square-shaped like a real TV. The color pages inside are great, too.

Very cute, well done book

This is a great book for the Wiggles fans. What I particularly liked about it is the vividness of the photos. They're just striking in places! This book is a tour of a day at Network Wiggles. They introduce themselves in the beginning, do a song, then Greg does the "news." They do another song and then Greg goes back to work at the news desk, and it goes from there. If you've seen them on Disney, then you get the idea. Anthony does his workshop thing but music with Murray is omitted, as is "Where's Jeff?" It's very entertaining, well written and a definite must for the Wiggles fan. A great book, one that we all here highly recommend! (Just wish it was hardback because I think ours is being read so much that it might wear out!)

This book is a pretty good adaptation of the movie. Considering the wild visual action and humor of the movie, the author did a a decent job of describing them for the book. A great read for kids of all ages.

A Subtle Commentary

This is Bob Mills's best book yet, written in his chatty but informative style. Indirectly it suggests that Lindbergh (and the others who followed) were nothing but pawns of the news media and politicos for most of their public life. Lindbergh gets star billing merely because he was the first and greatest victim, and the one who struggled the longest, and perhaps most successfully, to get away.

A gem!

Breezy writing and plenty of savvy observation about the way media creates heroes, and why some make the cut while others with perhaps more noteworthy credentials do not. Far from a stale history lecture, Mills writes in a very engaging easy-to-read style and peppers the books with thought-provoking commentary. This one was quite a find!

I just recently read this book so I thought that I should review it while it's still fresh in my mind. I really like Lizzie Mcguire stuff. I'm a fan. Anyway, this a good and intriguing book about a normal girl, facing the same problems that you probably do.

Part 1:
Lizzie wants to win the Best Dressed award, but there are a few problems-the cheerleaders are always wearing more expensive, cooler clothes than her! Lizzie has her mind set on one particular pair of pants-but they're $65. Mrs. Mcguire offers to take Lizzie bargain hunting. Lizzie doesn't want to wear bargains, but she doesn't want to hurt her mother's feelings. What will happen?

Part 2:
Lizzie wants her pictures in the yearbook, but Kate, selfish as she is, won't put them in there! Lizzie, Gordo, Matt and Matt's friend, Melina, cook up a plan to put Lizzie's pictures in the yearbook. But will their plan succeed? Will Kate be taught a lesson that she doesn't always get her way?

This book's great. I guarantee it!

"Freaked Out!"

"Freaked Out" is an awesome Lizzie McGuire book. It has two parts, like all the other ones, and it's great for reading around Halloween. Or even not around Halloween. Anyways, here's what I think of each part.

PART ONE----It starts out an ordinary morning until Lizzie finds out that there are lots of stains on her clothes--which should of been washed in last week's laundry. She knows of course it could mean one thing---Matt. Lizzie and Matt get into a huge fight, and before they know it--they've switched bodies! As if that isn't bad enough, there's school. School isn't bad, but being your sibling and going to THEIR school---well, that's bad. What can they do before Matt ruins Lizzie's life?

PART TWO----It's Fright Night and Lizzie's school and her parents say that Matt has to come with her. Miranda brought these skeletons from a holiday in Mexico called Day of the Dead. Kate was really mean to them and Miranda said that if she was mean to them than bad things would happen. Lizzie's turned into a zombie, Gordo turned into a burger buddy, and Matt turned into dust. What can Miranda and Kate do?

Overall, this is a GREAT book, especially for Halloween. Buy it if you love Lizzie McGuire!

At Lizzie's new school Matt gets punished 4 somthing he didn't do so with the help of Melina and Lanny (Matt's friends) she tracks down the culprit.

Part 2: It's fright night at Lizzie school and Miranda brings skeltons from Mexico and tells everyone to treat them right, but Matt eats there tamale, Gordo says there stupit and Kate shoves them into a corner but then Matt dissapers, Gordo gets traps in a burger buddy and it smashes and they take over Lizzie 4 revange on Kate.

My Book Review

This book is about a girl named Lizzie. She also has a little brother named Matt. She ahs 2 friends named Miranda and Gordo, they hang out a lot. Then Gordo got a girlfriend and started ditching them. This book has a lot of interesting details and good word choice. I recommend this book to you because it is a great book to read. My opinion about this book is that it has a really good author to it so it has a good set of word choice and interesting details to go with each set of chapters to make up the book.
The main characters that make up this book are interesting. Lizzie is the one person with a very unique mind and is a one of a kind person. Miranda is a person that can sit there and listen to you and then you ask her a question and she will say "what did you say I wasn't listening". Gordo, is a person that is really smart, he is also one that will lie to you about going somewhere with his mother or father. Matt, is Lizzie's annoying little brother that irritates Lizzie all the time.
The main themes of the book are friendship, Love, growing up, and worry. The theme friendship represents Lizzie, Miranda, and Gordo because they have been friends for a very long time. Love, represents Gordo falling in love with his new to become girl friend. The growing up theme is all about Gordo because he has a girlfriend now. They worry is all about Lizzie and Miranda were all worried about Gordo because they couldn't find him.
The setting took places in all different places. It took place in a restraunt, that's only because that's where him and his girlfriend were. Lizzie's house was another place that the book took place at. That's where they hang out most of the time. At the restraunt Gordo was there with his date and, when Lizzie and Miranda tried to call him. They couldn't get a hold of him so they went down to the restraint to see if he was there because that is his favorite place to eat. Then they yelled at him for not telling the truth.
You should remember that this book is all about Love, Friendship, Worry, and growing up, because if you remember this then you can always know what the feelings are all about in the book. The main characters in this book should be remembered because then you know who they are and what they do in the book. The setting of this book is really important, because you should know where the story took place and what the place is about. I think you should read this book because you can read about friendship and trust. I loved this book and I think you will to.

I really enjoyed this book. The story was very entertaining. A perfect summer afternoon novel. I really liked Darcy Lou's relationship with her mother. I also liked Lizzie's comments all throughout the book and the introduction and the info about the 'author' were very funny too. I liked this book very much. I would definitly recomend it!!

This book is awesome. It shows that mother's and daughters not only fight but get along too. Although Darcy Lou may seam to have a "perfect" relationship with her mother, the rest of the book is quite solid. It shows that kids aren't the only ones who make mistakes and somethimes the thing you need most is right under your nose. It also shows that you don't have to have lots of money to be absolutly rich. A group of people who care about is worth much more. Unlike money, they'll always be there and they are unreplacable. You must read this sweet little book!

The Long Way to a New Land and The Long Way Westward are companion books that chronicle a family's journey from their Swedish farm, which is suffering from an extended drought, to a new home in Minnesota. The books describe the difficulty and dangers of the journey in a way that is non-complaining and full of optimism for a new life in America. Teachers, these books are wonderful for integrating with other subjects and topics, such as immigration, westward expansion, steamships, trains, geography, and American life in the 1860s.
