This book was the second book I got. I thought it was a very good book. I read in like 3 days. I liked the part when Ruthie was trying to act like a guy by doing those gross guy things!! I read over and over again until I got a new 7th Heaven Book. I love to watch the show. I watch it every night when I can or when I'm not doing anything else..... I really hope that you 7th Heaven fans will read this book if you already didn't. If you do I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!!

i thought this was a good book i mean it was very interesting (for me anyway) this is the only book i will read unless i have to like in school but that is the ONLY book i will read out of school, but i can't read them all as fast as you can make them can you make them. can you make some for the older age levels please because those would probebly be just as good.

I have read alot of 7th Heaven books, and Secrets was my 2ed favorit. I would recomend this book to kids 5-10 no younger because they will start to keep secrets.

Mary and her basketball team get there season cut shore because there grades drop. So Mayr and her team trash the schools gym and the get arressted will the camdens clear her name? read to find out! I would reccomend this book to anybody ages birth to death it has a great moral.

BOOK REVIEW

In this book Lucy one of the sisters. Is on her high school student court team.
Her sister Mary is in her signor year of high school and on the varsity basketball team. The girl's grades dropped so they can't play anymore. So they go out to eat and think about trashing the school gym. Then they sneak in and start to T.P everything and then they graffiti every thing and than they get caught by the police and the school principal and they get in a lot of trouble.

I do recommend this book if they like the T.V show 7th heaven an like to read. I would recommend this book because it is interesting and funny. It was a page turner because at the end of a page it did not tell enough information so it was a cliff hanger . So I kept on reading the book. I did enjoy this genre because I love this T.V show and this was about a show I had never seen. There were surprises in the story like when Mary and her friends got caught and when they decided to trash the school gym and when Simon got suspended for a whole week.

My son is a little of 3 and adores all things Thomas. I purchased several Thomas books for a recent plan trip and of the 3 this was his favorite by FAR! He loved the trains bumping into each other and the pictures of the "sea creatures." Would recommend this to your Thomas fan!

This is another wonderful Thomas & Friends storybook. My son adores it and gets very excited to see the Octopus and Shark. When actually playing with his trains he would replicate the wrecks. Highly recommend this book to all kids who love Thomas. My son is 2 1/2 and asks us to read it every night.

My 2.5 year old loves this big, colorful Thomas story. He studies the illustrations and talks about what all the trains and cranes are doing. Really fuels his imagination!

I love trains and I used to watch the show when it aired on PBS years back. So every now and then I come across one of these books, I snatch it up. Love the stories and art work. I even got a chance to see Thomas the Train when it came into town on one of its tours. Little ones loved it. I highly recommend this series to all those who like a good fun story and especially to railfans everywhere.

What fun! A big aquarium exhibit is coming to Tidmouth and the docks are hustling and bustling with activity. Cranky the Crane is unloading Bulstrode. Harvey is loading small crates of aquarium glass, while James and Salty are busy with their own tasks.

The only problem is, Thomas wants to help and he keeps getting told that he is too small to be of assistance. Sad because he can't find a job `his size', Thomas is about to head back to the Station when he comes across Salty with a huge, toothy shark in a see-thru tank. Surmising Thomas' sad state, Salty takes pity on Thomas and tells him that small engines **can** be useful, which is exactly what Thomas finds out.

When Percy is surprised by the shark in the tank, he loses control and runs right into Henry who then crashes into Harvey's freight car. This accident is so noisy and unexpected that Cranky gets spooked and drops a crate of seaweed on James, causing James to go off the track.

As we say at our home, everything was goomeywammered. And to make matters more complicated, the docks are such a scene of chaos that none of the large engines can move about. They are just too *big*.

On cue, in comes Thomas. He steps up and because of his smaller size, he is `Just The Right' engine to clear up the whole mess. The story ends with everything back to normal and everybody waiting in anticipation for the big exhibit to open.

Five Stars. Good Read-aloud. This book has good artwork (versus the photos that are taken from the TV show). Steamies abound. So many that almost any Thomas fan should be content.

Our small blue friend gets to be a hero. This confirms for small fry that you don't have to be big to be helpful. This book can even be used to help children to understand that no matter how big a mess is made, if everyone pitches in to help together, that mess can be cleaned up.

Thick with physicality, written in language as multifaceted and fluid as the liquids and semi-liquids it so often describes - raindrops beading together, blood coagulating, paint swirling down a shower drain, globules of semen dribbling down a leg - this striking novel seeks to give a palpable, clutching voice to the emotional extremes experienced by three women. At one point, one of them reflects on an African ritual of "wailing days, when the women gather in a home and scream and sob the grief out of themselves," taking comfort in the physicality of the act, the way such gut-deep sound seems to push "grief out of the system, as it if were poison." (75, 76) It is an apt metaphor for this book, at once a torrent of expression and, in its precise stylization, a carefully crafted ritual of catharsis.

This novel is also, on the level of plot, a story of reinvention, of weaving oneself together after having been broken into scattered shards. One woman dips into opiates, another sliced open men's bodies with a scalpel, performing speedy surgery-in-reverse - "Vengeance for the souls of a million fallen women who never mustered up the ovaries to fly away," is how she describes her "campaign" of killing. (122) Another continues to quest after the happiness promised by myths of romance, or at least "being wanted for a companion, not a lay," imagining a Valentine pulsing beneath her flesh, muscles, and living cage of bones. (62)

Raw fears, desires, and hatreds are strung into such garlands of imagery. Early in the text a physical metaphor is offered for a theory of haunting, the idea that there are "slinking, ethereal ropes... constantly trailing behind us, thinning when we are on autopilot and thickening more and more as we get closer to our authentic primal selves." (17) Organic traces, smeared through the very spirit of the air - this is itself a useful metaphor for the energy that writhes and twitches through this book.

Amy, you're awesome. Can I use that word again? Great job. I have to admit, I did get a little confused at some parts of the book, but everything came together. Have you started writing your next book?

This book made my head spin. It was like reading a thousand little things that had happened to me or someone I knew and they suddenly made sense. I had to go buy a bottle of cheap wine and some cigarettes to stop my head from spinning. Excellent read.

Bold and daring. Descriptive, provocative and full of sensuality. Guth writes in a poetic fashion that is an important contrast to the harsh stories of these three woman. So New Media was smart in picking up this first time novelist. She has a very unique style in her expression and should bring the book world a crisp breath of fresh air. I look very forward to more work from this budding novelist.

this was the best. it really tells you what its like to be in bording school. marykate and ashley have a dance and they have to ask the boys. they ask there boy cousin if he knows any good boys and he tricks them and marykate gets a dork and ashley gets the popular girl's boyfriend and if you want to know more read it!

That is like my favorite book. I read it over and over again. Even though I am only 8 I hope some day I own it. I also hope you like it too!!!

This book is great. I collect Mary-Kate and Ashley books and I have 15 of their Two of a Kind and I think I liked this one the best! It is a great book. Even though i'm 13 years old, I love reading and they are awesome books! If you have never read their books before, I recommend you do so now!!

I have read almost all their books and this one was really great! I loved how it was in the form of their diaries while they're away at White Oaks Boarding School for Girls.

It all started when there dad got them a new telescope to learn about the stars.Instead of looking at the stars,they decided to SPY on there neighbors.Then things got out of control.They peered through Mrs.Baker's (there neighbors) window and saw something they shouldn't have. This is a great book.I had a lot of fun reading it.I hope you will too!

This is the most fantastic Two of a Kind book so far,and they are all great.This time Mary-Kate and Ashley have gotten themselves a little in trouble with their snooping.

A great book. Once again based on the show Two of a Kind. Whoever likes Two of a Kind or the Olsen Twins than this book is for you. Has black and white pictures in the back from the same episode the book is based on. Mary-Kate and Ashley are having Mrs.Baker babysit them, because Carry is busy with their dad. The girls think Mrs.Baker is a murderer. They think she murdered Mr.Filmor. They can't tell their dad about it or else they will get in trouble. Now they are out to investigate.

This book is about two girl's that are twins and they get a new telescope. There dad got it for them to study the stars. But Mary - Kate and Ashley have better ides they started to sie on there nubors and Mary - Kate thinks that she see a meder but I'm not telling you ho or if it's real but you can read the book to find out if it's ture or fase. So read to find out Two Of a Kind to Snoop or not to Snoop.

This book is about two twins named MaryKate and Ashley.They got this new telescope to look at stars,but they started to spy on people.They spied on an old lady.They thought that the old lady was going to kill her husband cause she had a knife in her hand.She was just cutting fruits.

Definitely on my recommended book list. A must read for women in business.

I enjoy Joan Anderson's books. I felt A Year by the Seas was the better of these two books.

Joan Anderson shares her wealth of experiences to gain a different lifestyle for one's self.
The book provides many useful stages to work through that sets your life into a pathway that pleases yourself and breaking away from being a people pleaser & forgetting what one's own dreams are.
The book does this in a pleasing gentle way & it is also where many woman are after family have grown & one's life's work seems to be over but we ask what now ...
Loved A Year by The Sea by the same author.

Joan Anderson, the gifted author of "A year by the sea" and "A walk on the beach" has written yet another book that speaks to the heart and soul of every woman who has reached a crossroads in her life.

This book is an outline of her weekend retreats at Cape Cod. In it she shares not only her program and thoughts, but also the experiences of participants and exercises that the reader can do at home. The exercises are more than thought provoking (never ending crossroads), revealing (the calendar exercise), and renewing (The self and others circle). They are indeed the road map back to your true and authentic self.

If you have gone through a divorce, death, loss of job, empty nest, or are just wondering 'what next?' this book is an invaluable compass to aid you in seeing options and new directions. To quote her dear friend Joan Erickson, "We do not receive wisdom - we discover it for ourselves after a journey through the wilderness."

Joan Anderson does not seek to give you the answers, but to help you discover the questions within yourself. Her writing is encouraging, honest and perhaps most important, heartfelt. You can't go wrong buying this book for yourself or as a gift for a friend.

I'm not a big fan of self-help books and am pretty cautious in my response to readings like this. A Weekend to Change Your Life, however is one of the true exceptions I've had the pleasure to read. The author is not preaching or in any way a know-it-all but she challenges very basic feelings and emotions in each and every person, whether we admit to them or not. And in going thru her exercises we are drawn into trying her suggestions and digging deep into our souls to see why we do so many of the things we do. The author has deep, deep respect for the uniqueness and value of every emotion and individual. She doesn't judge or ever try to criticize or downgrade. She teaches us acceptance and deeper understanding of whatever is causing our innermost private thoughts and feelings. It's truly a treasure and one that I highly recommend for every woman, no matter how old. I readily admit that one of the feelings I deal with most often is that "I'm too old; I'm 73 years old; I'd like to do this or that, but I don't have enough time left to start now, etc." Nonsense! Joan Anderson has prompted me to try, even at this ripe old age to at the very least try and to live each day left to maximum fullillment and satisfaction. !

A well written and consise book with a lot of information for those with ears to hear and eyes to see.......

St. Clair has been talking to the elves, nature spirits, rocks, trees, and otherworldly beings since childhood. He started out in those "highly spiritual callings" in the military, law, and banking to survive, but left all that boring, soul-killing stuff behind to become an astrologer and a psychic predictor.

No prediction can be set in stone, but he does claim to see our most possible futures, if we don't change our ways. The future is that up to 80 percent of us will be dead within a few years. The unenlightened dead will end up being dark spirits that cannot reincarnate in bodies anymore (sounds a little Calvinist). Only a remnant shall be saved, but they will eventually enter the gates of peace and paradise. The people who survive will be psychic and will have a new consciousness based on cooperation, not violently aggressive competition. All the races will be eventually mixed into one. All those of the old consciousness will eventually die off. There will be no borders and people will roam the earth, ever changing, to survive and thrive in the new world. As the ages change, cataclysms will occur: many land masses will go underwater and new land will rise up out of the sea. It will be an age of knowledge, not belief. Expect the beginning of the collapse of society on all fronts by 2009. Get out of the cities and go to remote areas 5,000 feet above sea level. One positive prediction is that corrupt and incompetent politicians will be a thing of the past by 2020.

The indigenous tribes with their ancient spiritual knowledge will be respected once again and colonizing will be stopped. "Cool" indigenous tribes, to St. Clair, are the Celts, the Mayans, and the Tibetans. "Uncool" colonizers are the Romans, the Anglo-Saxons, and the Spaniards. I do not share his belief that indigenous tribes are morally superior to the colonizers. I think that were just losers in the violent competitive game of life, best represented in the violent sports that most people love to watch in which the victor wins all and the loser is "beaten". The author didn't prove their moral superiority to me; I don't think they were less violent.

He touches on almost all the new age apocalyptic themes, giving one the impression that you could just write a book by recycling other writer's ideas, although I am not accusing him of that. He convincingly advocates for the importance of the imagination and emotion and how suppression of such in the modern world is destroying us. He even talks about certain reptile aliens, not all, that are the dark lords of this planet who are trying to control us, free thought, and the internet, but will not succeed. Some aliens are creating human alien hybrids because the aliens are dying out because they valued technological progress over emotions and spirituality.

I would have liked the book better if he had gotten an editor to edit the many small but annoying mistakes that leave a bad impression and make me take the book less seriously. His style is adequate but not as good as esoteric writers such as Manly P. Hall, David Icke, or Julius Evola. Still, any writer that uses quotes from such polar opposites as the Christian C. S Lewis and the Satanist Aleister Crowley can't be all that bad.

All I can say about this book is WOW!! I stumbled upon Micheal St.Clair by accident (or rather synchronicity) via an online video, and I was instantly hooked and bought the book here. This book will take you on a journey that afterwards you'll be asking yourself whether you are awake, sleep-walking or dreaming... What impressed me about the author was his precociousness as a child and his depth of knowledge to how the universe works. I just don't understand how astrologers do it; however, after reading this book, I realized that Micheal St.Clair is truly gifted beyond belief. If you have pondered, wondered and searched for answers your entire life, then this is one book that will provide the quantum-leap (jump-start) to a higher level of understanding and knowledge.

St.Clair si most definetly a Magi, and has broken through the veil of duality and illusion...and in his book "Zen Of Stars" he tries to help others in doing the same...besides explaining astrology and earth changes that are happening and that possibly "could" occur....he weaves a most wonderful picture of his life, telling how spirit has always been a part...he also explains where we all come from, which of course is "Cosmos" or the "Stars"....I would recommend this book highly, especially for anyone on a spiritual path, who is looking for answers...the most important one is that they must look within...

This book is indeed a damning indictment of the US national news media for their consistent failure to inform the public on critical issues regarding their lives and US international policies.
As the editor Carl Jensen states: `more than three quarters of the 200 censored issues are still overlooked or censored by the mainstream press.'

Media landscape
Through media mergers only a handful conglomerates dominate the entire US information landscape. Those conglomerates have joined the ruling capitalist class with its main goals of market share and profit maximizing. They are part of the system and defend it. Their news broadcasting is biased, favoring management over labor, corporations over their critics, the wealthy over the poor, officialdom over protesters, free markets over the public sector, conservatives over progressive people or dominance of the Third World over social change.
In fact their employee-journalists are stenographers of power.

Dominant themes
Nationally, the dominant or very important issues are the attacks on civil liberties and personal privacy, the media mergers creating mammoth conglomerates and concomitantly reducing seriously the information spectrum, the freedom of the press, using innocent human beings as guinea pigs for radiation testing and the murky businesses of a presidential family.
Internationally, the omissions to report on the genocides by the Red Khmer in Cambodia and by Indonesia in East Timor are not less than a scandal.

This book contains very useful updates on the 200 issues involved as well as an excellent index.
It is an outstanding handbook for all those interested in US and world history.

I thought this book was pretty good, although I didn't learn as much as I thought I would. What I did learn was all very frightening indeed.

The reason I didn't give this 5 stars isn't because I didn't learn something from every censored story, but rather that I felt there was a strong bias in this book. Clinton and Carter get off very easily, when compared to Reagan and Bush, who are attacked for verything they do. It's not that I believe they did nothing wrong, but I'm sure that Clinton and Carter weren't nearly as honest and forthright as this book makes them seem (in comparison to the Republican presidents).

Carl Jensen takes you down the last twenty years with major headlines that were never seen. I was surprised and a little scared to think of what is held back from the public. I was amazed to see what was never told.

Proving the old adage "It's the media that control the people's thinking." This book certainly should wake you up to the fact that what you see isn't really what you get, because you get very little from the press.

I took just over two hours to complete the reading and I am very excited to read Censored 1999, to find out what I missed for the year. Overall this book will make a great gift for just about everyone - well done!

Never heard of East Timor until a few weeks ago? Well, you would have if the other news stories about East Timor over that past few years had made it into the mainstream news!

This book made me realize just how bad the situation is out there in the media. How controlled by corporate PR and government intervention our supposedly "free" media is. How could this happen in the United States of America?

I highly recommend this book to citizens who want to be better informed.

The news stories suppressed by Ronald Reagan (and his "administration") alone tell a horrifying story of how a politician tried to ram his agenda down our throats, without our knowing about it, so that we couldn't dissent or have opinions. And how he tried to censor everything he could, so the American public couldn't get any information about anything the government was doing.(Read Ch. 7, 1982, #6 "Ronald Reagan: America's Chief Censor".) There are also a multitude of stories censored by trans-global corporations what will scare you to death when you read them. What corporations will perpetrate on the public's health, just to continue making a buck, will shock you.

The orignial news stories are covered in summary form, the sources are cited, and there is usually an Update on what has happened since. Sometimes the update is more harrowing than the original!

It is your civic duty to read this book.

This is a great read. There are a great variety of stories (discounting the author's obsession with nuclear power) that should pique anyone's interest. Each of the year's stories provides interesting insights on what really happened that year (I found particularly enlightening the stories on the corporations, rich elite, and media empires that really rule American). This is a rare book that should be read by anyone who wants to be informed on current events. Rarely does such an important book come cloaked in such a simple cover.

This book is not just a mega dose of good news, but is a resource rich exposé on where the good news is being generated.

Reading "And Now for the Good News", you are made aware of the limits of corporate media coverage and informed on projects and people who are making positive change, and then empowered to get involved. This book allows all of its readers to be a part of the solution.

It will restore your faith in humanity.

What resonates with me is the conscious creation / law of
attraction aspect of this inspiring book. We get what we focus on, so it
makes sense that what we chose to pay attention to on the news
affects each of us on many levels. Why not pay more attention to the
positive events and people in the world? This book is a great reminder that there are many people in this world creating positive change that benefits us all.

I Just returned from 1 week business/pleasure visit to New York and I found this guide full of good recommendations and descriptions were accurate. Better than Lonely Planet or Time Out's, which I also bought. Quite a useful guide with plentiful restaurant, watering hole and sight-seeing suggestions. It's replete with valuable information about attractions, hotels, eateries, shops, spas, etc. Beyond this, however, the layout is terrific, and the book is remarkably easy to use as a result. The maps, in particular, are helpful.I'd definintely purchase an Avant Guide guidebook again. I am happy to say that this book was by far the best single-city guide I used.

I am a big fan of the Avant-Guides. I used this book almost exclusively for a trip to NYC in the spring of 2002--thus some of the information had changed. Otherwise I would have rated it at a 5 star. The information on the museums and where to get the best deal on theater ticket was very helpful. I have since ordered the guides for Las Vegas, New Orleans and Toronto in hopes of finding the same cool, underground type of information provided for NYC. PLEASE--do guides for Montreal, Washington D.C. and Seattle.

I love to travel and I love guidebooks. This one is the best series Ive seen. it makes me laugh, has a great senseability about the places I like and really feels like it was written by a friend. I never write these reviews, but Im inspired to write this one because the book is so good.

Honestly, I've been living in New York for the past two years, and I think I have a reasonably fair grasp on its nighlife, restaurants, whathaveyou. Not only did this book have a listing of some of my favorite spots, but it talked about some places I wish I'd known about earlier. Some good stuff here.

when we first scanned this guide we thought perhaps we were too old to appreciate it {my husband and I are in our fifties]. However, we loved every bit of it and were especially helped in terms of what not to do or where not to eat.
