Great!Review Date: 2004-12-05
Like the first story, she tells about a trip to some caves near her home when she was only three years of age. (Just think of God speaking to someone that young!) She equated the fact that though she was scared, her Dad held her hand all the way through that dark cave and helped her over the rough places. Then she tells us that this was like our Heavenly Father! When we walk in the light of His love, He will keep us in the dark and hard times of our lives and keep us from falling into the pits of life. Jesus will help us through to the light if we just keep a hold of His hand. WOW!
I recommend this book to YOU!
Don't miss her other book, "Dancing Around the Throne" either. More deep stories from a master storyteller.
Buy one for yourself, then another for a friend that you care about. They will appreciate your loving kindness, believe me!

Mission Impossible: Teach Eastern Philosophy To Western MindsReview Date: 2008-06-10
Originally I borrowed it from a friend to read (thank you Judi), but bought a copy so I would be able to read it again.
Being able to experience what living in this physical world is like through the eyes of a yogi is a once in a lifetime opportunity. He did so much and kept a low profile. My kind of guy.
And, as if that weren't enough, how many Spiritual teachers, not to mention yogis, have a surf break named after them? (Swami's just below Encinatas, CA is named for Yogananda's gold domed temple on the cliffs above.)
The Original, more material, more photos.Review Date: 2008-09-28
It is in original and unedited form. If you have enjoyed the current edition of Autobiography of a Yogi, then treat yourself to this even more comprehensive version.
A truly magical book which will inspire and awe even the most cynical person.

Even for someone who doesn't love horses, this book is an amazing read, but if you know or love horses, you will understand the power that these beautiful creatures possess.
Kim Meeder presents the real life stories that will touch your heart and soul in ways you might not have realized. I would read every book that she writes, because of her beautiful writing style and her amazing gift and telling a story with a message.
Anyone who enjoys watching someone who is undergoing trials and tribulations, turn their life around and conquer internal battles of pain and anguish, will absolutely love this book.

Very Insightful Account of Japan and the JapaneseReview Date: 2001-06-13
Incidentally, I actually found out about this book from a Japanese mini-series that was re-broadcast recently called "Mariko". It had a few more details not found in the book, such as the fact that Mr. Terasaki used phrases regarding Mariko (esp. "Mariko is not well today") as a code with his brother and others in Tokyo to relay how discussions were progressing during the tense time right before the Pearl Harbor attack. Also, I found out that Mariko is alive and well and living in the US.

Jewish troops who fought the Nazi's then rescued 1000's of orphan childrenReview Date: 2006-07-03
"The more he killed in cold blood, the more he ensured that the horror the Nazis had let loose would continue to triumph. His only hope was to make a movement away from this ruinous faith. And now he knew what he had to do. For the first time he started to envision the beginnings of a plan, an active strategy, that brought with it the possibility of a world beyond all the evil."
Now you would think this would not be such a difficult problem, however the British were determined not to allow any more Jewish refugee's into Palestine!
A thrilling true story that will keep you in suspense till then end! This was a little known unit that contributed so much to humanity.
Compelling true account Review Date: 2006-07-29
Blum discovered this small piece of history by accident when visiting the US Holocaust Museum. After he pulled together scores of interviews, he chose to tell the story through the eyes of three soldiers and one survivor, the sister of one of the soldiers. This telling is what gives this book its potency.
The strength of The Brigade is that it reads as a novel, and the reader cannot turn the pages fast enough to find out what happens next. Blum's accurate portrayal and attention to details is what keeps us focused on the reality of this amazing story of courage and perserverance. He reminds us through his excellent storytelling that this did happen.
The book is not another war novel that expounds on the accounts of military victories. It shows the sacrifices and the souls of these men who risked their lives to save their people. It reveals their struggles and their doubts as well as their triumphant spirits.
The Brigade is a must read. It is uplifting and demonstrates the human spirit at its best.

Tonya and Tom Loved Castaway KidReview Date: 2008-09-26
This book is amazing. I work in a school with much racial, religious, financial and ethnic diversity. This book was the center of our summer reading program. Rob's life was such a great example for our children who face discrimination that they too can be successful regardless of what others say to them. In addition, my husband and I found things in the book we could relate to as well. My favorite part was Rob's argument with God.
It doesn't matter who you are or how you were raised, you will relate to some part of Rob's life. This is a book you will love and one you will want to share with everyone you know!!

A life affirming and truly deep book at our true inner artistsReview Date: 2008-03-14
Reading this literature and absorbing its knowledge has for me enhanced my perception of the tri-fold "singularity" that makes up who we all are. I am fascinated by the detailed instructions and positive suggestions about how and when to come in contact with our "Inner Artist".
I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to develop their perception about energy flows and cycles of life/death by holistically improving in body-mind-spirit.

Okay, but cynicalReview Date: 2008-09-23
As the author himself writes, his wife and daughter look to the bright sunny days of tomorrow, whereas he has a tendency to dwell on the dark days of the past. That accurately sums up the tone of the book as well.
