When some of the people notice that they are late they go down they go and try to see were they are and about 5 miles down the road they see there van in the road and they called the ambulance but when thy arrived they were already dead. Now Beth has to go and live with her aunt and uncle Camille and Jack and her cousin Terri in tampa, Florida. Sher has to leave her house in Tennesse were she lived all her life with her family and all her friends. Will she ever be able to get over her loss?

Beth Haxton was a girl who had a brother and a sister. Alison and Doug. Beth also had a mom and a dad. Their family was a happy family. Beth's parents go to a picnic for her dad's work and they wanted to bring Beth, but she had the flu. Alison and Doug went though. On their way to the picnic they got in a car accident. The police came right to Beth's house to see if Beth was there. Beth heard a ring on te doorbell and saw the police there. Beth got the news from the police that her parents and her brother and sister were hurt real bad. Then Beth went to the hospital and nobody would tell her what had happened. Beth had to call her aunt who lived in Tampa to come up and see her and comfort her. After Beth's aunt came, the doctor told Beth and her aunt that Beth's family was D.O.A. dead on arrival. Beth went to her aunt's house to live. Terri her cousin didn't really like her though. Terri asked her to go to a party with her because she pretty much had to. They went to the party and Beth wanted to leave halfway through. Beth starts to go to school in Westwood and she gets a friend, Jared. This boy was the nicest boy in the school. He liked everyone. Beth also helps out this other girl who has a bad home life. Then she brings Sloane the girl with the bad home life to her house and she stays there for the weekend. Beth starts to be the popular one in the school. Terri and Beth start to be friends and they start to hang out together. At the end Terri and her mom bring Beth to her old house and she goes to the cementry to see her sister, her brother, her dad, and her mom's grave and they live happily ever after.

This book is about a fourteen-year-old girl named Beth. Beth was sick one day in the summer, her family was invited to cookout and she didn't go because she was sick. When her family was on their way to the cookout they got in a car accident, and the whole family was injured. The family was sent to the hospital. Beth was at her house when this accrued. The cops came to her house and brought her to the hospital. They called Beth's Aunt Camille and she got a fight to the hospital. She was Beth's only relative. Beth's parents, brother, and sister ended up passing away and Beth had to go live with her aunt and her family. Aunt Camille had a daughter Beth age and her name was Terri. You will have to read this book to find out if Beth likes her new school, makes new friends, or if her and Terri get along.

The things that I liked in this book were that Beth got along great with her family, she had best friends named Teddy and Marcie, and that her aunt and uncle treated Beth with respect and gave her a lot of support. My dislikes to this book were that Terri didn't get along with her parents or anyone, Beth didn't get to see or speak to Marcie before she left, and that people bought Beth's house and they didn't tell her who it was.

Over all I really liked this book. I could never put this book down. I would recommend The Girls Death Left Behind to a girl because it has a lot of sad and emotional parts in it. I also recommend this book to a girl because the main character is a girl. The events have great details, and I hope that those of you who haven't read this book to read it.

My daughter was reading this book for her government class and I started reading this. I could not put this book down. Even my husband started reading Lady President. This unique tale of international intrigue and political double-dealing is almost right out of todays headlines. President Marie Arcola is a tough, well created character and a role model for the women in our nation. I am going to bring this one to my bookclub and I hope to see a sequel soon.

The ladies from my book club stumbled on this Lady President novel over their summer reading from two of their teenage daughters. My gosh! The way this story is told is as if the author could see the future. The situation in Iraq and Iran, the events from last September, the incidents in Washington, D.C. President Marie Arcola is very much a mirror of what women are going through in todays world. I am a manager of a big company and I can relate to the stereotypes in this novel. Many of my friends who read this book were surprised about the certain prophecies touched upon in this fast-paced story. And we are only two years away from a Presidential election.

I had to pick a bunch of books to do my government paper. Lady President was one of the books. My teacher said it was great for a fiction but since there has not been an America woman president I could only use it for entertainment purposes. Still this book was the talk of my class. And I did my paper on other women in American politics. My older sister and my mom read Lady President and they loved it. They thought President Marie Arcola was a strong, tough character. We also liked Senator Ttrevor Thomas and the other characters. Someday this story might be true or a story like it. I will be going to college in two years and plan to go into education. I know for a fact there is politics in the field of education. I think this book educated a bunch of my friends and I about America with a woman president.

I am doing a high school paper about women in politics and I read Lady President. It is difficult to understand why women have to struggle in this country and I can identify with President Marie Arcola as she tries to get the generals and senators to cooperate and let her do her job. My teacher brought up this idea of an American woman president in class and the class was divided. Some of my friends read this book and were impressed. My government class has learned alot about other countries from this story. Especially Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan. And the way the Taliban treated women. I think Lady President is ahead of its time and we hope to see another book with President Marie Arcola.

I am a San Francisco professor on Sabbatical. I was talking with my daughter about this extraordinary Lady President novel and I have brought it to my sisters attention. We were in New York City during the summer and two weeks after September 11th. Part of my teachings deal with how books and movies mirror our inner egos. In Xavier Carbajal's Lady President novel a tense dramatic statement is introduced for the future of America. Right off the bat, this author causes chaos: America has its first woman vice president and she wants to quit. Vice President Marie Arcolas life is near perfect. She has a wealthy, loving husband, two beautiful children and is ready to relax into a life of writing childrens novels. But terrorism makes the mark. My sister read this book a few months ago and she told me it was like walking through a maze of mirrors. I noticed this author wrote a Jules Verne sequel called Captain Nemo and another work on Edgar Allan Poe. Those other works are very different from this novel. I am curious as to how this author had the intuition to create Lady President. Although Hollywood and other writers have attempted to invent America with its first woman president, they will never come close to what Lady President has to offer. There is a sense of primal fear intertwined with every page. The author takes the lady president and asks us "What do you think? How is America with a woman president?" Now, since my daughter and I read this novel, my sister read it again and brought some interesting theories to light. My husband also read this novel and introduced a totally new revelation of Americas future: all the soldiers, the call to duty and the sacrifices made to fight true evil and our country now becoming a fortress. Mr. Carbajal left the end of this story with us wondering. We still have dozens of unanswered questions. I hope to see a sequel to this marvelous story.

Sure, this book was hard to put down, but I couldn't figure out why it was labeled science fiction. There are no new technologies, the technology in the book is just electricity, and isn't even the biggest influence in the book. It is a crime to charge nearly 20 bucks for a book that is so poorly laid out in text, and has such a poor resolution graphic cover. Nevertheless, the story is worth reading if you can find a used copy. It's hard to put down, but it's only a quick 300-page read, with just about every moral spelled out for you.

I gave up reading after 150 pages. I was all ready for the premise: the story of a boy and girl in a postapocalyptic city where the hardest thing is to survive. The setting is interesting and the plot was captivating at first - the mix of strange religion, the social divisions in the city, etc. In the end, though, my patience ran out. Maher's style became infuriating: he kept telling you about the city instead of showing it - a bit like a person holding a picture and describing it to you but not letting you see the photo itself. On top of that his descriptions were rushed and had the feeling of 'pause in the action - fill in the background.' The action scenes became annoying as well: too much nose-to-the-ground stuff, a lot of running and telling you of the pain in the knee, the feelings of the body. I got claustrophobic, a feeling that the characters were too much inside their skins, that they were not interacting with anybody, just being manipulated like puppets by the writer. Too bad - I liked enough of the initial set-up to wish it would've been better.

I really enjoyed reading "Legend." The story takes place some time in the future in a land that has been ravaged by man. People struggle to survive among the ruins of a once advanced city. People are basically classified into three groups: the Bureauers, the Folkers, and the Disciples. The Bureaurers are very much like people today who are involved in bureaucracy. The stereotypes definitely apply here. The Burearers believe that they are maintaining order by keeping the Folkers in a state of chaos where they have to worry more about basic survival than getting involved with what is happening in the government. When the main hero, Martin, becomes a low level Bureaurer, he finds that he has become a part of a system that really doesn't need him. He goes to work and is well fed, but he doesn't seem to have a purpose. The Folkers are what Martin was born into. These are the poor people that have to fight for food. They will eat anything. While they are not allowed to kill others to eat, they will eat their dead. The Bureaurers see to it that the Folkers are provided with "poorage," however, there isn't always enough to go around.

The Disciples are people that are involved in a satantic-like cult. They are waiting for the coming of Jefus. He is supposed to save the world and make the machines that no longer function work again. The leader of the Disciples, Kreeops, is supposed to step down when Jefus returns. A Folker, Gena, is selected to be the bride of Jefus. The leader of the Disciples wants her for himself. She is forced into the cult and given training. There are powers in both the cult and in Gena. It appears that the greatest power of control comes from the beliefs of the people. Their united beliefs cause things to happen. Gena begins to realize this and uses this knowledge to her advantage.

It is believed that Martin is Jefus. He has to go through three tests to prove this. He doesn't really believe this, but to survive he does what is necessary to prove this. Along the way, he discovers the importance of the power of belief. He sees what Kreeops is doing to control the others. He realizes that Kreeops true power comes from the faith of his disciples. To win and to survive, he has to gain their faith in him. He and Gena need to become gods to win their control. Martin has to be crucified and resurrected to prove himself.

Along the way, Martin and Gena struggle to survive. Sometimes, their adventures are with each other, other times they are off on their own. Gena learns that there is more beyond the city limits than people realize. Because of their fearful beliefs they have limited themselves to this existence. If she and Martin can prove themselves, they can lead these people into a better way of life.

I found this story to be unnerving because I can see how our own society can become trapped by limited negative beliefs. This could be our society someday. The people who choose to be in power, do it for control of the masses, not for wanting to make their world a better place.

This is an excellent science fiction novel. I truly believe that it is destined to be a classic. As you read it, you are glad that it is only fiction and not reality. However, it brought many questions to my mind that made me think, "what if?" Due to the graphic nature of the story, I do not recommend it for young children. However, I do recommend it to other science fiction fans and think that it would be an excellent choice for a reader's group to discuss.

Like all good fiction, this is a book that really makes you think. Part of you wants to put it down to think out some idea the story raises but the story itself keeps you turning the pages. I recommend it. Highly.

On the back of the cover some writer calls this a book about the reunification of the self. I doubt if the guy who wrote the book thought that's what it was about. Better to just enjoy the story and let the plot sweep you along. It's fun, it's clever, it would make a good movie. That's enough.

I was first introduced to this book when a friend's toddler received it for Christmas. He loved it. That was 5 or 6 years ago. Recently we found it at the library and my boys loved it so much that we bought our own. My 2yo son loves it and even the 4yo still asks to read it. It's a keeper!

Our school district had a paperback version of this book (not cardboard) as a part of the reading curriculum for the kinders and it was so cute I had to buy it in order to keep it at home. The facial expressions of these sheep are too adorable, the sentence structure is kept simple, and it rhymes. Plus, the kids love it :^).

As a Jeep owner, when I saw this book at my library's book fair - I just HAD to get it for my toddler. A year later, we still love reading it. The rhymes are great and so memorable that we find ourselves using some of the lines whenever a mishap occurs in our daily lives. Whether you're a Jeep owner or not - this book is a MUST have!

Good basic rhyming vocabulary with plenty of humor. Nicely done lesson on consequences of not focusing on the task at hand. Good clear illustrations. Good to hear now with lots of sound effects and to read alone later.

Sheep in a Jeep is a fun book using rhythmic wording. The pictures are humorous. My disappointment was with the small size of the board book. No where did it say the miniature dimensions of the book. I prefer board books that are in the larger format of 8x11.

The book Amy Number Seven is a very good book.It is about a twelve-year-old girl who is a clone . She has perfect powers,and she is good in gymnastics,ice skating,running,and basketball without praticing. And someone is leaving notes in her mailbox.And anyway I would give this book 5 stars. you should read this book.

When she turned 14 a crescent moon appeared on her back. Then things started to change. In gymnastics Amy could do all the flips, turns, and jumps. She also started getting the best grades in all her classes. Then a movie star came to her school to to a movie. She looked exactly like Amy, but her name was spelled Aimee. Her mom finally her mom told her the truth. Amy tried to get close to Aimee, but guards always stopped her. Aimee thought Amy was started to get attention so Aimee planned to have people kidnap her, so that all the attention would go to her. But the fake kidnappers kidnapped the wrong one. They kidnapped Amy Candler. Then Aimee came to ask why they kidnapped the wrong girl. But the fake kidnappers were the people who wanted to use them to take over the world. So both Amy's fought until they got away. Then Amy Candler told Aimee the story about the lab. Then Aimee pushed aside Amy Candler and said she was going to try and take over the world herself.
Amy Candler is a fourteen year old girl. She has long brown hair and brown eye. She is not tall or short. She is creative and very outgoing. Amy was also very smart, and athletic. She was pretty much good at everything.Her mood was almost always happy. She was very curious about her life. We are alike because I have brown hair, I'm pretty smart, and I'm happy alot. We are different because she is older, she is much more athletic than me, and my hair isn't as long as hers.
I realy like this book because it is exciting, adventorous, and you never know whats coming next. I also like reading fictional books. My favorite part was when Amy got kidnapped, she was so confused. And the fake kidnappers were offering her soda and stuff because they knew it was fake. And tey thought that Amy Candler was Aimee the move star. I would recommend this book to a friend to they came experiance the thrill of the book.

This was a very good book. It is about a 12 year old girl named Amy Candler. Amy can do a lot of stuff better than her classmates. She can answer difficult problems in her head, she can do complicated twist and turns in gymastics, and she can hear and see things from far distances. But she doesn't know anything about her past except that her father died in a accident before she was born. She other stuff to worry about, a stranger is taking pictures of her, her mother is acting paraniod about her talents, and she is getting anonymous letters to keep her talents to herself. Amy knows that her mother is keeping something from her, something she doesn't want her to find out, something about her past and possibly her future. Amy tries to find out everything, before its to late...

Amy is trying to find the answers to a twisted mystery in her life. I loved this book, it was probably the best, easy book, most adventurous book in the world. I've read the other books too and by far this is the best! Marilyn Kaye really knows how to write twisted and suspenseful children's mysteries. I would recommend this book to 10-12 year old girls who enjoy mysteries and adventure. If you like this one then you will definitely like the series. Amy is an all right gymnast that becomes perfect in one day. Amy is rocking teenager that any girl would like. I think everyone would like this if they read it. It might be able to teach mothers how to talk to their sprouting teens.

im 24, altho i read these books when i was still the intended age.... i was going thru some old things, donating most of what was there, but i loved these books when i was young, so i wanted to read them one more time before i gave them away.... i ended up buying 3 more to add to my collection! morbid, yes! but great stories that keep you hooked, no matter what age you are. if nothing else, the historic side of things makes them that much more interesting

I highly recommend the Betrayel because it will tell you the secret about the unspeakable terror that has haunted Fear street for the last 300 years. Its about this girl name susannah goode falls in love with Edward Feir and they both want to get married. But Edwards father forbids him from seeing her so he framed susannah and her mother of being witches and burned them at the stake. William Goode , Susannah`s father , wanted revenge against the feir family so he traveled to every colony to find them. This book will tell all about two feuding who caused terror on fear street for 300 years.

I am 24 years old and I still love Fear Street. I read this saga over 10 years ago and I started thinking about it a few months ago for some reason. I looked in book stores but it was order only, so I didn't bother. Finally my husband told me to go on Amazon and order it. After all, we would be going to the beach for Labor Day weekend and I don't like going into the water, so reading material is a must.

I'm almost done with the first book, and I love it. I feel like a teen again.

I really like this book because of the mystery and the betrayal and also the dark things that happen. In the book there is a example of betrayal between the two families because the Feirs light a huge fire
at the Goodes, house and believe it or not the Goodes and the Feirs use to be friends.

This book takes place in Massachusetts where two families the Goodes, and the Feirs have been in a battle for years.There had been a great fire that had taken two special people away from William Goode. One was his wife Martha Goode ,the other was Susannah Goode, his daughter. Now William seeks revenge on Matthew and his whole family.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes mystery and horror books and R.L Stine books.There is a second book but I have not chosen to read it because it gets slow at the end and they talk about the same things over and over.

I wasn't sure what exactly to expect from this book. When I got it and started looking at the page after page of amazing documented discriptions of anything and everything you would see in these movies I was so pleased with my purchase. The only thing I noticed was the emphisis on Episodes 1-3 and remaining episodes were all lumped together in a quick glance almost. The book is amazing non the less and I am more then pleased with it, and can't wait to give it to my significant other for his birthday.

I like this item very much. My husband is a Star Wars fan and I got this book for him. I ordered this book and within a week I received it.

Got it as birthday present for my 5 year old. We all love it. He pours through the photos by himself, we read it together. I am learning all sorts of details (and they are plenty) about all the star wars characters. Who knew! This book could be the movie prop person's notebook/bible it is so complete and thorough.

The only drawback is my son finds the picture of darth sith too scary and we have to rush past that page. Oh well. Get it, great price, worth every penny.

WOW!!! This is the perfect book for anyone interested in knowing their stuff in the Star Wars world. Every character is represented according to chapter so some characters are represented more than once. Anakin is shown as a child in Episode I but is shown older in the next episode, etc. The book is divided by Episodes. Information on star ships, Tie Fighters, Light Sabres and more are also included in this book along with photos for each and every reference. This book is not only for children but adults can learn a thing or two from its contents.

Wow. Not your typical good guys come to a new planet, good guys save the planet, good guys leave the planet and everyone lives happily ever after. I just loved the ending ,wasn't expecting that!

This entire series is a great children's series. Even though I'm an adult, I still love these books. Set before Episode I, they follow Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn through their early years together as master and apprentice. If you like Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon, or the master/apprentice relationship in general, you'll love these books.

Obi-Wan is on Melida/Dan. A planet steeped with violence for as long as anyone can remeber.Jedi should not take sides Qui-gon tells Obi-Wan but he ends up taking sides with a group named the Young who are fighting against there parent to stop the war. Debate rages between Obi-wan and Qui-gon and ..... well you will see what heppens.It includes Obi-Wan getting kicked out of the Jedi Order and staying to help the Young read the next books to see if Qui-gon will except Obi-wan as his apprentice again. I [16] found this to be a great book when i was younger and still do! now that iv finished the NJO series the clone wars series and the Jedi Apprentice series i cant wait for a new one . You will love this book guarenteed.If you dont well i cant give you your money back..... but you would have to be insane not to like it.

Another truly great story from Jude Watson. These books bridge the gap left vacant before Episode 1.
Jude watson has a great gift for fleshing out all the characters we've come to know on a much deeper level.
This particular series gives us the early adventures of Obi-Wan and Quinn -Jon and shows us the development of the two as the later indepent thinking Jedi they become.

Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan go to Melida/Daan to rescue Tahl, the Jedi peacekeeper who went there. She was gravely wounded and captured by the Melida, and so Yoda dispatches more Jedi to rescue her.
Young Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi apprentice, he's not supposed to become emotionally involved in a conflict. But when he meets Cerasi and Nield, the young and charismatic leaders of the Young on the planet of Melida/Daan, he is immediately swept up in their just cause. The Elders of the planet are nothing more than defenders of the dead, willing to sacrifice whole generations to get back at each other for past battles. No one remembers the original grievances, just that the Melida are evil or the Daan are evil, depending on who they are. The only ones striving for peace are the Young. They're proud to announce that they're everyone, both Melida and Daan children who want to rebuild their war-torn planet.
The Young help rescue Tahl, but they need the Jedi's help. Though forbidden to do so, Obi-Wan's heart tells him he must help the young save their planet.

The Door Within was seemingly written with two large goals in mind: the first would be to absolutely enthrall young readers with action, adventure, and the ever-deepening courage of someone their own age. Many young people have thought "wouldn't it have been cool to be a knight" or to turn from everything you've ever known to an adventure that few believed was real; this books tells that story. The second goal was to challenge the reader to truly examine what they believe in by drawing age-appropriate parallels between the main character and the reader. This goal was readily accomplished, as well, as the main character, Aiden, is real enough and each of us could identify with the various aspects of his personality.

While reading the book, I found it very difficult not to compare it with The Hobbit and The Chronicles of Narnia. As this book falls into the same genre as those two, I was pleased to say that while this relationship was easy to see, it stands alone and cannot be confused with either. As I was related to one of my student's parents, "it is a great book that is kind of a hybrid between the two; it takes the elements of each that make them great and creates a new work that you must force yourself to put down." I had one parent tell me that she and her daughter were reading the book before bedtime. When the child left the room, she confessed to reading ahead after her daughter was in bed. She had even gone to the bookstore and purchased the Rise of the Wyrm Lord and The Final Storm and was not going to feel bad about reading ahead, even if she had to do it in secret.

Regarding the spiritual nature of the book, I can say that there is definitely a good message about using the gifts that one has been given for the benefit of mankind. Throughout the book, there are countless occurrences of self-sacrifice and other spiritually-sound happenings. When I turned the final page, I was saddened that it was over, but excited about what was to come. That sense, too, is aligned with a person's spiritual journey through real life. The book is incredibly well-written by an author who is not afraid to write outside the box.

The Door Within starts us on a three part adventure that takes us into our memories and our imaginations. The characters are so dynamic and well articulated, you can't help to hope to meet them some day. Encapsulating an awesome message that takes place in this wonderful and beautifully crafted world. The Door Within is the first in a trilogy of fantasy books for middle-age readers. If your kids are fans of C.S. Lewis's The Chronicles of Narnia, they (and maybe even you) will probably love these books as well. The story is not too hard to follow, but is still masterfully woven together. The characters are very lovable and reading about their friendly antics is quite entertaining. It has great moral lessons and doesn't include the inappropriate material other books in this age group may have. The spiritual undertones in the book can be very much appreciated by believers, and maybe get unbelievers asking questions about God. This book is a wonderful fantasy tale that's perfect for kids from middle school to adult!

This isn't one of the pigeon books where you talk back to the pigeon. Instead, the pigeon talks to the Special Guest Star - the Duckling!

My nieces (aged 5 and 2.5) can literally recite this one by heart. And they will! Oh, they will. They love every page of it, and if that's not a good recommendation, I don't know what is!

They even (especially) love the inside covers. On the front inside cover there's a lot of hot dogs, but on the *back* inside cover one of the hot dogs has been cut in half - just like the pigeon cuts his hot dog in half to share it with the duckling!

Mo Willems has done it again. This is a very fun book for small children. My kindergarten students love all of Mo Willems books but, this is one of their all time favorites.

This is one book kids of different ages love. My daughter bought this one for her daughter, she loved it .So she got it for my youngest granddaughter . She is 7 and she would not put it down. She read this book three times a day at least for weeks. She had so much fun with it . This is one for all ages .

Kindergarten kids and younger would get a kick out of this story. A great book to get all the kids laughing hysterically.

I stumbled upon this book in my local bookstore, and bought it to read to my 10 month old daughter. She doesn't get it, but I giggle with every turn of the page. I'm planning on buying the other Mo Willems books, also. Thumbs up.
