Since the beginning of movie making, film makers have tried to mirror society. The counterculture has always been a favorite sticky issue, including marijuana use. As early as the 1920's, the "loco weed" has made many cameo appearances and a few starring roles. From it's early days of scare tactics in the now famous cult favorite "Reefer Madness", to the late 70's marijuana heroes, Cheech and Chong in "Up In Smoke", grass has come full circle. Although it is said that millions light up every day, Tinsletown has had a difficult time dealing with the use of marijuana on the silver screen. Nowadays, the majority of films that feature marijuana are somewhat neutral in their portrayal of this "illicit activity" and by now, many major actors and actresses have turned on! In this book, you will find over 500 movies from the past 60 years that feature references to marijuana. Whether it's a full blown pot film like, "Half Baked" or "Dazed and Confused" to a quick shot of a bong on a table or a joint in a drawer, you'll find all of marijuana's movie roles in this, The Complete Guide to the Hollywood High. Buy It!

Markets in Mexico turned out to be a great source of information for me as I was looking for specific facts about different states in Mexico. The book provided me with all kinds of information regarding the conditions of the economies, infrastructure, business activities and consumer markets. As an investor it was important for me to have a clear understanding of the potential risks and benefits involved before deciding which of Mexico's states to invest in. I also appreciated the list of state government agencies that the book provided as a source of contact. Markets in Mexico was very beneficial to me and I hope others will find it as useful as I did.

Just the facts, ma'am

This book contains an exhaustive volume of data and statistics about Mexico and its states that you simply can't find ANYWHERE else.

I use it in my law/consulting firm in Monterrey on a daily basis.

I have looked for other publications, and nothing exists like this book, put out by the American Chamber of Commerce.

My only worry is that if enough people find out about this, I might be out of a job!

one of Exam Cram's finest

Ever since I failed my 70-291 test, I've supplemented all my certification studies with these shortened Exam Cram books. They always provide a great summary of what I've learned the 3 weeks or so I spend studying more detailed guides.

This one SEEMED a bit longer than the others, but there is alot of material for this test. Either way, I was able to read it in about a week (just 1 chapter each day, less than an hour), and it really explained things much clearer than MS books. The difficult concepts from the material fully sunk in, and I felt twice as confident for the test - which I aced with an 826.

I've also used the Exam Crams for the 70-291 and 70-293, but this just clearly has been the best so far. It reads very smooth - the author has a natural way with words, and turns simplicity into an art form.

I wish I could give a more detailed review of where it helped me most, but it's been a few weeks now and I'm on to my next test. On the positive, I don't remember any errors - spelling or technical. The study guide I'm reading now has already had a handful of errors in just 5 chapters!

After this book, I am giving much more consideration to using the full Exam Cram study guides for my tests! Bravo to Que - books of this quality should just boost their reputation into outer space.

My thoughts - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

As it says in the introduction, this book does not teach you everything you need to know about a topic, it is aimed strictly at test preparation and review. The authors have studied the test and put together a guide that if diligently worked will almost certainly enable you to pass the test. 70-294 is one of the core exams that everyone gaining an MCSE must pass.

This book contains a number of parts that are designed to provide information on the test. The first thing in the book is a Cram Sheet that provides key facts about the exam. This is a brief document, but covers the general areas with which you should be familiar. This is followed by the main part of the book, broken down into nine chapters. The chapters concentrate on a major area of the test and are followed by a short examination. Following this are the two complete practice examinations and their answers. [...]

I found this book to be very enlightening in regards to Windows 2000 Directory Services planning and implementation. As an experienced Windows NT 4 administrator, this book may also prove useful for any Network Admin looking to upgrade their system(s) to Microsoft's latest NOS. The only qualm I had, was the fact that this book could have been somewhat more detailed regarding some of the explanations for RIS, DNS, and implementation of group policies. All in all a great book to add to your repertoire.

The book is designated to help a reader to prepare for a MCSE test. It is also very useful for an NT administrator moving toward Win2000. The truth is that if there is no Active Directory on a Win 2000 server there is no way to administer Win2000 domain. This very clever book explains the best practices available to administer Win 2000 Server and network. Highly recommended!

Impressive, enjoyable, and educational, Dingle's fine book sits front and center on my crowded reference bookshelf. The quotations are arranged alphabetically, by author, so browsing provides insight into the authors quoted, more so than do quotation books that are organized by theme. I heartily recommend this superb reference and enjoyable read. Also recommended: Memorable Quotations: American Women Writers of the Past.

I really enjoyed reading this book. It covered important details regarding Active Directory Design, Network Infrastructure design, fault tolerance and disaster recovery and user management issues. The book was put together very nicely, and was actually enjoyable to read, which isn't something I had expected from a book of this type.

This book is a definite 5 and should help you in your network roll-outs and for your Win2k Design electives as well.

A must read for IT Professionals.

In the author's own words "this is not meant to be light bedtime reading, but an exploration of the more technical issues of Windows 2000 Server." If you already have a good grasp of basic Windows 2000 Server Administration and want to move up to the next level, start here. There are plenty of walkthroughs, best practices, and real world advice that goes far beyond the "marketing hype" that can be found in much of Microsoft's documentation. The author strikes a good balance between providing excellent technical depth without getting bogged down by it.

The listings in this book are Mobil rated which means not only could we find places which accept pets, but they are nice for us humans as well! Best of all, Andrea Arden offers some great advice on teaching your pet to enjoy travel. The resource guides (especially on places to visit with your pet) are an added bonus.

Wonderful Flashback To The Good Old Days

Review Date: 2006-09-16
I found this book virtually by accident and, when it arrived, instantly neglected everything else for several hours as I dipped and flipped through its delightful pages. This book is a thorough history of all the movie theatres that ever were in Baltimore and, since I grew up there and spent (or misspent) most of my youth in seeing nearly every film that came to town, this was a wonderful wallow in nostalgia as well as an education of the "Gee, I didn't know that" variety. As the book's unfortunately dry title implies, it traces the history of motion picture exhibition in Charm City from 1895 to 2004. The first part of the book is an era-by-era general history. But the second, and more fascinating, part gives a description and history of each individual theatre from the lowly Howard to the mighty Stanley. Arranged alphabetically, it was easy to look up my old favorites and, along the way, find others that I once knew but had totally forgotten about.

It has been more than twenty years since I left Baltimore so I was surprised and a tad shocked to discover how many theatres - both neighborhood and downtown first-runs - no longer exist. There are a number of nice black and photos (of course, in a book like this, there are never enough photos) and information on the architecture and size and seating capacity, as well as the highlights of each theatre's existence. Some entries are, understandably, more detailed than others. If I were to nitpick, it would be to say that the writing style is sometimes a bit too academic. There are occasional anecdotes that give the book a more personal touch and more of these would have been welcome. I certainly re-discovered a wealth of fond memories that were brought back while paging through the book. I expect it will be a book that I will be frequently picking up for a casual browse that will turn into a more extended re-read.

Of course, because I am from Baltimore and knew many of the theatres from personal experience, I find the book fascinating. How much interest there will be for non-Baltimoreans is hard to say. The history of movies theatres in Baltimore is probably similar to that in most large American cities. But, for myself, I am grateful to Robert Headley for all his research, hard work, and obvious love for the subject. It almost makes me want to book a flight back to Baltimore just so I can spend another enchanted evening in the magical darkness of the Senator.
