Excellent Roadmap for IT Linux adoptionReview Date: 2006-11-25
Great Book for Exec'sReview Date: 2006-06-01
It is clear that Linux has matured and come a long way since its inception. Under the right circumstances, I would have to agree with Mark that a company could simplify their environment and reduce their TCO by switching to Linux. Granted, this switch is not for the faint of heart. If you are coming from a UNIX environment, the switch should be fairly easy. However, if you are attempting to migrate from a Windows environment, it may be a longer road to a full switch. This is where Mark's Seven Keys take hold.
The Seven Keys give you a standard process that will help guide you to a successful migration. These Keys are critical to any IT project but they are especially prudent when making a switch in operating systems. Following these keys from Identifying Business Objectives all the way through to Practicing Process Improvement will ease the transition, but Mark is very honest and speaks truth to potential failures.

The images are of great quality, listed in contextual order, from everyday life to mythology and literature.
Printing quality is great and colors are nicely reproduced.
In sum a must for anyone seeking a concise yet scholarly account of the history of Persian miniature. Chapeau bas to Mr Marshak, the author, and company.

Photographic Cases: A Must-Have for Collectors & DealersReview Date: 2001-11-03
A MUST-HAVE BOOK, ONE OF KENNY'S BESTReview Date: 2001-11-03
illustrations are matched by interesting, informative, and highly readable
text. The author's focus on mid-nineteenth century design styles includes
not only a wide range of daguerreotype cases, but their component parts as
well (pads, mats, and preservers). The book is about case art, but it also
includes the case makers and photographers, the design styles of the time,
and a historical perspective on life in America from 1840-1870. This unique
approach to case art is a departure from the norm and makes Kenny's book an
important reference text for photographica, Americana, and Victoriana
collectors along with artists, historians, and designers.

An efficient volume for novice and expertReview Date: 2008-06-27
Although the book does not give great weight to the role of competitive markets, it highlights regulatory and policy barriers that led to our current situation. We can turn out attention to changing those policies. Ms. Tombari provides insight into the direction the country is likely to take if we establish a balanced and comprehensive energy policy in 2009 and beyond.
Huge Info in a Quick Read, and Scary Implications!Review Date: 2008-06-13
An easily understandable overview of our electric generation situation, and sad commentary on the U.S. electricity future which few people or government agencies are dealing with. The author is clearly an expert, and rarely does one find so much information in one place. I wish our Congress and EPA would read it.

A wonderful look at Benedictine Spirituality for today.Review Date: 1999-03-12
Everyday Spirituality for EveryoneReview Date: 2000-02-04
Written 1500+ years ago, Benedict's Rule is still a fresh commentary on the applied Gospel and Christian living. Because of its monastic context, the Rule is often bypased by all but the most intense disciples. Vest has written a beautiful, practical commentary on the Rule that can be applied by anyone looking to live the Good News. Herself an oblate, Vest comments not out of theorhetical platitude, but out of lived experience.
The book is laid out with the text of the rule, commentary, and space for the individual to write their own reflections. (The text of the Rule is a relatively new translation by Dom Luke Dysinger, O.S.B)

I like Griffin's anthology as well, but this one gives you far greater depth. I doubt anything will ever take its place, at least in English.
