This music speaks to me, and it speaks for me. I could never have articulated the words to reflect my feelings as brilliantly as Michael McLean does but once I heard the words in the songs, I immediately connected. Especially on the feelings of loneliness and fear. I also felt the heartache the young unwed mother felt in giving up her child, all out of love for that child. The music and words, and the stories behind the songs, have helped me better understand my own feelings and then develop much needed hope for a good outcome. Thank you Michael!

After buying a 2003 Honda motorcycle, I wanted to be sure it was in safe, working order. The repair manual for this bike is about $70 from helm inc, the company that actually prints all the shop manuals for several motorcycle and car makers. The Clymer manual was less than half that price, and is just as good as the "official" manual for the shadetree mechanic. The directions are clear and easy to understand, and the photos are, for the most part, accurate and functional. The only complaint I might have would be that the photos could use more color. I would certainly recommend this book, and all clymer books, to anyone that owns a vehicle for which Clymer makes a repair manual.

Working with victims of sexual abuse, pregnant teenagers and all types of women whose dreams lie in ashes at their feet (which I do) can leave a counselor wondering where they can guide their clients to give them the courage just to hang on while the healing is happening. "Hope Springs From Mended Places" gives a counselor a unique tool to offer clients who want to see that they are not alone, and that hope can come to live again in their heart and in their mind and in their spirit. Sometimes hope an

For disparate reasons, Diane and I have seen more of Languedoc than any other region of France so it was natural that I would be attracted to this enticing book covering this trinity of ingredients in Murrills' heady book.
The ingredient that binds this wonderful melange of delights together is the interminable hunt for the perfect, at least to them, house. All of the travel throughout the length and breadth of Languedoc-Roussillon and thereby providing the substance, its food and history, is to provide opportunities for the author and her husband to, seemingly, examine every house for sale in the pronvince. The map just before the Prolgue is extremely important to the book because the pot into which these ingredients are mixed is this map showing the many places in Angela's and therefore your journey. With a specific place used as a starting point for each chapter, the book becomes a three demensional map of Languedoc and many of the villages, towns or small cities that she visits in her and her husband's house hunting journey becomes a reason to delve into the history and more importantly the particular food of the area.
My particular interest in the Cathars and their eventual total destruction by the Albigensian Crusade meant that this travel book, more than others, intrigued me. The author visited some of the Cathar sites that I've also visited: Monysegur, Albi and Carcassonne. These places plus a myriad of others that I have not visited constitute the historical backbone of this marvellous book. However, a further ingrdient besides these historical examinations, is the regional food that Murrills exams. She ends each chapter with one of those regional recipes and throughout the preceding chapter, offers traveler descriptions of the foods and acacdotes about its importance and its role in the greater Languedoc community.
This is a wonderful book and deserves attention from lovers of history, food and anacdotal travel.

Essential reading for anyone planning a trip to the Languedoc. Part guidebook, part history, part culinary journey, part cookbook, it's also the story of a couple who actually did what many of us dream of doing: finding a second home somewhere warmer, sunnier and more relaxed, with, in this case, better food.
Angie Murrills is a vivid writer with a keen eye, a warm heart and an insatiable appetite for food and food history. Each chapter ties a food - cassoulet, confit, anchovies, cheese - with a Languedoc town or region, illustrated with small, charming ink drawings by Peter Matthews.
I dare you to read this and not start planning a lazy trip boat trip down the Midi Canal, or a trip to the Camargue, to see a bloodless bull fight in Stes. Maries de la Mer.

I enjoy the multiple authors who wrote this book, as well as their previous books. I am looking forward to book four and have pre-ordered it.
It is a nice change of pace from my usual choices.
I do like history and mystery and historical fiction and this book has it all and is light reading, nothing heavy, great to snuggle up with when getting ready to go to sleep.

Tells of a different saying of Jesus

Look at Matthew xii:36.
"But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, and every good word that men shall not speak, they shall give account therof in the day of judgement.
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."
See the difference between the above and your Bible? This book tells the remarkable story of how this saying, which fell from the lips of Jesus, but did not find a place in the authenticated record, came to be found (over 100 years ago), but has not been acknowledged by biblical scholars and authority.

With chapter titles like Chapter 2's "Light as a Law-Abiding Quanitity" or Chapter 3's "Seeing Things", this book has as much heart as it does wit.
Intelligently written, it provides an important counter-weight to all flights of fancy (successes--Plank's Black Body Radiation--and failures--N Rays! lol) as well as their public perception.
