The best book for learning to be a real witch!!!

This book covers everything a person wanting to learn the craft could ever need. It changed my life. There is a serious theology foundation here that I now apply to my everyday living. I see wicca becoming mainstream in the next 10 years or so and this book being a driving force in establishing Elijan Wicca as a widespread religion. More and more people under the age of 25 are embracing Wicca as their religion of choice.

In addition to being an excellent teaching tool, it serves as a wonderful reference for me and I fully expect it to be my number one reference after I formally initiate into Elijan Wicca. (I've been practicing solitary wicca for more than 15 years.) To accompany the teachings in the book, Lady Raya has an online training course with test questions and a forum with the lessons from the book. It's very well structured especially for a person new to wicca. I am thoroughly enjoying the book.

I very much like the idea of online training as it gives people from everywhere the opportunity to learn the craft at their own pace and for our religion to become more accepted. I've been looking for a book like this for many years and was thrilled to have found it.

An Encyclopedia of the Book of Mormon and Doctrinal terms written by 100+ of the best scholars on the Book of Mormon.

Ezra Taft Benson (a prophet of the LDS church) has said, "There is a POWER which will begin to flow into our lives THE MOMENT you begin a serious study of the book" Ensign 16(Nov 1986) p.7

This book, in my opinion, is the most "serious study of the Book of Mormon" to date and it has some serious power.

--IF--You plan on studying the Book of Mormon for the rest of your life --THEN-- Why would you not own this book?

I'm sad to see this book is out of print right now .... I have a copy of this beautiful book of shadows -- needless to say, all the pages were filled with magical information in no time! I personally love the front cover of this book -- magnificent! Sabrina, The Ink Witch's art is just beautiful and this book has some of it inside ... Lots of pages to fill in information.

This is not a grand tome like the Book of Shadows you see on Charmed, (however, you can buy book of shadows from book makers like that), but this is definitely a beauty!

A Forgotten Classic

Karl Wagner wrote this pastiche of Robert E. Howard's pictish king, Bran Mac Morn during the heyday, resurgence, or whatever it was of Howard reprints in paperback. Wagner wove a tale of swords and sorcery around the very real disappearance of the Roman 9th Legion in Britain and what a tale it is. Despite his success as a writer of heroic fantasy, Wagner always considered himself more a writer of horror than of sword and sorcery. As was his trademark at the time (and predating the "splatterpunks") there's particularly shocking and gruesome scene in this book that will surprise you and stick with you. Bran Mac Morn is, unfortunately, not well known among Howard's great fantasy characters. This book was intended to be the first of a series and a second, "Queen of the Night" was written but never published in English due to it becoming entangled in the bankruptcy of Zebra Books for whom it was written (although there are rumors that it appeared in Germany). Pity. Some publisher would do us all a service by extracting "Queen of the Night" from limbo. In addition to his own novels and stories of Kane, Wagner went on to write one more Howard pastiche, a celebrated Conan novel titled "Road of Kings." And although that book is equally worth your attention, "Legion From the Shadows" ranks as an outstanding example of what a pastiche should be: a work true to the spirit of the original author's work while respectfully and creatively furthering the mythology of the character. If you're a Howard fan or a Karl Wagner fan and this book isn't on your self you have a gap there that seriously needs filling.

I really liked Brenda at the Prom. It was about a boy that falls in love with a girl he never thought he would. She is older than him and a farmer's daughter that is very independent. He is the son of a banker that is having to close a lot of the farms in that town. They become the best of friends for years but he loves her. Then he tells her and it changes everything between them. She does not know what to do. Does she have feelings for him?

By 1992, Esmeralda Sanchez had become so desperate to cross the border into the United States, she paid the dreaded coyotes to escort her and her six-year old son, Jaime. However, the journey inside a hot car trunk goes wrong, leaving Jaime dead and his mother near death. American Pete Ross is involved with a drug deal when he manages to save the life of Esmeralda, who is deported back to Mexico. The shock of the incident is so great, Pete joins the Border Patrol.

Over the next four years, Pete falls in love with Esmeralda, who has become a renowned healer due to her ability to get in touch with Jaime. Her touch placed skeptical Pete's cancer in remission. At the same time, local leader Ramon Cruz plans to bring his form of justice to the mean streets of El Paso. They begin by blowing up the border patrol station, killing many people. If Pete, Esmeralda, and Pete's ex wife Dr. Ana Gutierrez don't find a way to stop Ramon, the bloodbath could reach biblical proportions.

BRIDGE OF SHADOWS is a well-written combination of an- otherworldly and suspense thriller within a relationship drama. The illegal immigration question that haunts the Mexican-American border is well done as various sides of the argument are presented with dignity and grace. The story line is filled with action. However, it is the four main characters, brilliantly symbolizing the different aspects to the border issue, while still being fully developed people that turn Roxanne Conrad's novel into a must read for sub-genre fans.
