Alien Scream was really exiting. I've read all the Mindwarp books from 3-10 and they are the best books ever! I love the powers all the characters have and their personalities. I liked it when Jack back-chatted to the Spanish teacher- in Spanish! I am so hooked on the Mindwarp books and i wish there was more after number 10!

it's awesome! My favorite part is when Jack controls the terminites, and tells them to eat the rope and there's a bomb thats going to explode, and I can't tell you the rest or I'll ruin the book for you, but belive me, it's a great book!

I thought it was the best book I have read this year.

My favorite part was when he won the 1,000-lbs. bar of chocolate. Because it would be cool if someone really won that much chocolate. Two things I liked were when he almost got to play the video game because I thought that it was tight. Another thing I liked was when he was covered with termites because that would probably tickle a lot. Two things I didn't like were when he kept on getting knocked out. Also I didn't like it when he got taken hostage, because that was probably really scary.

Really funny, one of the best in the series so far

This is my favorite book in the series. It is about Jack Raynes, a seventh grader in Metier, Wisconsin. He has this really bad crush on this girl and when he finally gets up enough courage to go and ask her to the out to the movies he gets hit on the with a baseball bat. Afterwards he answers his teacher in perfect spanish even though he has only been taking it for two months, and was never any good at languages. But after his thirteenth birthday he can now speak any language he wants. But will Jack be able to talk his way through an assassination aimed at him?

Wow. I was in my school library with my best friend Gisselle (which is a coincidence since a girl in the book is named Giselle) picking out a book to keep. I came across this book and it looked so interesting so I kept it. She had the same book. We both absoloutely love to read. Ever since that day Diane Hoh has been my favorite author. I read the book and I loved it! It's so mysterious. She makes me think something like that could happen to me.

I would not want to be Jess, the girl who gets haunted by Giselle.

This book is about a girl name Jess, she is student at Salem Universitiy, but she is in a off-campus dorm, but, a very strange one. Her room is very cold and there rumors about a girl that comited suicide in that same room are intimidating... No one in the campus likes to pass near it, everybody that knows they are there and is awere of what happened there, looks at Jess and her mates with petty in the eyes and comments that they hate passing by that place, it's freaky and weird. Who the wrote letter? Did Giselle really comited suicide?
Have a try to know the answers to the questions above, because it's worth it. It's very well written and the book totally absorves you since the begining... Diane Hoh, makes a perfect mix of suspence, horror and romance in a very thrilling way.... DO NOT MISS IT. YOU ARE THE ONE LOSING IT ANYWAY!

The Silent Scream strats the ball for Diane Hoh's Nightmare Hall series. The Silent Scream is a good way to do this> It tell's you of this beautiful girl who committed sucide but is that really true? Diane Hoh tells the story brilliantly and I love her books however I feel the ending was disappointing and unbelievable!

Young readers being introduced to chapter books will adore Scream for Ice Cream -- a wonderful Nancy Drew mystery. Nancy, Bess and George are The Clue Crew, and they can solve any mystery using deductive reasoning and a super sense of fun and friendship.

When an ice cream company in River Heights announces a contest to pick the best recipe for a new flavor, Nancy is sure that her idea for Clue Berry will be a winner. But something goes wrong. A special recipe disappears, and it looks like Nancy and friends will have a lot more on their plate than mere ice cream!

Carolyn Keene's books have been entertaining readers for generations, and the Clue Crew series provides a great introduction to the world of mystery!

Even those who don't like Joan Rivers will love this book! She begins by a lengthy description of her obstretician and the way he makes her arrange her feet in the stirrups. And then (well, Melissa is a grown woman by now) she delves back into her memory bank and delivers the goods in the caustic way her fans have come to love and expect from Joan Rivers.

Don't be put off by rumors of recent plastic surgery. At heart Joan Rivers is a down-to-earth woman with a writing skill that rivals that of the late Erma Bombeck.

By the time you are done, you will have experienced extreme contractions--but of laughter, not pain!

This book is actually a volume of short mysteries that are well-written and, more importantly, fun to read. The adventures of Liz and Fran cover a wide spectrum of locales - places that Nancy Drew never dared to go. The author also has a keen sense of humor that is subtly laced throughout the book. Professionally crafted from cover to cover, "Mysteries to Scream For" is the perfect gift for those looking to bestow entertainment with substance upon the young readers in their lives.

I recommend this book for people who like mysteries. In this book you will read a problem that is happening and then you'll want to find out the solution right away. I learned that you can't always trust everyone in the world, they could be dangerous. I could connect to the character because I've had friends who have stabbed me in the back. Only kids who like mysteries may enjoy this book because this book is about a girl who is stuck between two guys and she doesn't know whom to trust.

This was a very good book. The author did a very good job in describing the characters. I especially liked the way she described Mark. Mark is a psycho that moves in next door to Jess. This book will keep you on your toes. I couldn't put this book down. If you like murder mysteries than this is a good book for you. If you are a cat lover than this book will make you cry.

It's been a whole year since the tragic death of Joan Lowery Nixon, and thinking about her many gifts as an author, I miss her today, as the stack of manuscripts she finished but didn't live to see published dwindles down. She won the Edgar Award an incredible four times, but her greatest happiness came from the letters and reviews her readers gave her, for there are many readers whose favorite writer will always be Joan Lowery Nixon.

DON'T SCREAM is a good one by her, although most of her books are good even if she did turn them out at a rate of up to 8 a year. In DON'T SCREAM, the action turns on one ordianry gir;'s suspicions that one of two new boys in town is secretly evil, and Joan ratchets up the suspense so we never know which one it is. Every time you think it's one, she weakens your suspicion by making the other one act in an ambiguous way. It's a seesaw ride of brilliant suspense, and the heroine, Jessica, reacts to this unusual situation just as many another small town girl would do, she keeps her doubts to herself, failing to confide in authority until it's almost too late.

It's set in Texas, so there are a lot of regionalisms, for this is an area that Joan knew well, and loved.

It's been a year now, and oh, how bitter the loss! But the books live on to comfort us in your demise.

I hope my review is helpful to you!

Don't Scream

If you like a book with some suspense then you would love this book. It is really great book. Although I found it to be a little sad in some parts I agreed that there needs to be some drama to make a book worth reading. The book was about a girl named Jessica and how she reacts when two new kids come to town. She grows suspicious of Scott and Mark. Like were they come from, what they have done to get here, and other personal stuff about them. When she finds out something bad about them; she fears that her life and her friends and family's life might be in danger, too.

My favorite guy character was Eric because he was a real sweetheart and he was very heroic. My favorite girl character was Lori because she would tell it like it is and she was also very caring.

One of the reasons I kind of disliked the book is that it foreshadowed a little too much. I sometimes felt that I knew what was coming up next but the ending surprised me so much.

I could relate to the book because they were in school and they had some of the same things that happen at my school. I think this is a good book for teenagers, but I don't recommend it for adults though.

Or it used to be, back in the 1990s, when youth pastor Rod Randall was writing up a storm with his famous "Heebie Jeebies" series. In this series Christ also has the power to rid the world of werewovles, piranha fish, or serial killers.

I wonder what happened to Pastor Randall, he was so reliable, he not only did the great "Heebie Jeebies" books, but he also had a great series called, "The Misadventures of Willien Plunkett" which wasn't so Stephen King and was more pleasant to read and preached the virtues of Christ even more wholeheartedlty. But maybe the market is soft right now for such tales. I hardly see any kids reading Rod Randall books right now, they're going for the video games.

The best thing I can say about this book is that it wasn't as awful as "The Final Victim".

I've read several books by this author. The books are all at least 100 pages too long & always go into detail on piddley stuff but the important things we're left to figure out. Ex.: How long did Garth's relationship with Tildy go on after he met Brynn? What about after he & Brynn were living together? What a jerk! What exactly happened in Boston in June that made Fiona think there was still something going on?

What happened with Cassie since that wasn't much more than a footnote?

Fiona was a horrid creature who didn't deserve to be a mother. And Tildy, while she didn't deserve what happened to her, was worthless too.

And yet again, another Corsi Staub book with an inane ending and the murderer someone we barely knew, or cared, anything about.

I will not read another book by this author!

Four sorority sisters with nothing in common except birthdays in October and a pact to keep secret the accidental death and disappearance of a fifth sister. Unbeknown to each other, each sister also have secret lovers/affairs, which if revealed would have ripped this sisterhood apart. Amusing and mildly entertaining.

I will definitely read more by this author in the future. 476 pages and I read it in 3 days! I absolutely recommend this book...don't pass it up!!!

I have to agree with reviewer Ross. I'm a woman, and I didn't like it either. He felt the book was for female reading. That's because it was so full of feminine stereotypes. I didn't really feel for the characters. Because my emotions were not involved while reading, the book was "flat" for me.

The book is about 5 closeknit sorority sister being killed off one by one. Three reason I didn't like the book:

-Ten years previously one sister falls to her death while intoxicated. The other four were present. They checked to see if she was, in fact, dead; and then, they left her where she fell. They didn't want to be involved. I mean, they were close. Not one of the remaining four had the guts and character to stand up and call 911 for their "sister".

-The main protaganist is Brynn, she's currently married to her former professer. One of her sisters, tried to get her husband into bed. With friends like that, do you need enemies?

-Brynn and her husband have two children. He doesn't want anymore. Brynn becomes pregnant and "hides" it from him. He actually finds out she's pregnant from their young child. I mean, come on already. Brynn's husband knew Rachel, (the young woman who fell to her death). He was involved in the search party when she went "missing". In ten years of marriage Brynn has never confided in her husband about what happened that night. Brynn's husband, Garth, has his own secrets. When he tells Brynn he slept with one of her sorority sister before their marriage, and this same sister, propositioned him after their marriage; Brynn goes ballistic. She refuses to talk it over with him. He was not unfaithful after their vows, but the thing that mattered to Brynn, is he kept something that important from her. Honesty and confiding in your mate is a two-way street.

This book has too many stereotypes: wimpy females; catty females; I can keep secrets from my husband, but he's SO wrong if he keeps them from me; Your're my friend, but....not really, I can't trust you with my husband; One of the sister is a financially successful business woman, and she's a Bi***. These sterotypes, I don't buy into. They were so glaring. Even though these women were supposed to be friends(sisters), there was no real friendship between them. I couldn't like any of the characters, so I couldn't enjoy the book.
