simply fabulousReview Date: 2006-05-05
Great book with fantastic images, witty and insightful quotes, and a comprehensive look into some of the most legenday and unique artists of our time.
Only small complaint is that the binding is not all that superb. After a few views, sections become loose and seperate slightly.
Overall, one amazing collection!
(Bowie fans will be especially delighted by DB's foreword and vast array of pics. Also, Mick's "Moonage Daydream" is a MUST)
Beautiful bookReview Date: 2006-04-29
The most space is given to David Bowie, but there are many beautiful images of Queen, Iggy Pop, Lou Reed, some of Debbie Harry, Syd Barrett and many others (there are a number of images from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, too!)
The only negative aspect of the book is that some of the larger images that cover two pages lose a bit in the crease between them. In a few images, the crease runs right through someone's nose.
I recommend the book to fans of glam rock in general, Mick Rock's photography in particular, and admirers of any of the artists featured. I would probably enjoy these photographs if I wasn't a fan, though, and you might too.

Excellent retelling of classical mythological story.Review Date: 2003-07-11
Great fantasyReview Date: 2001-08-15
As Proteus begins to regains pieces of his memory, he concludes that King Pelias hired him to kill Jason. However, his time amidst the Argonauts, especially the brave leader makes him realize he cannot do this task and instead becomes an intrepid and loyal member of the crew. After fleecing Aeetes and other adventures, the Argonauts land on the enchantress Circe's island where Proteus not only learns more about himself and the truth, but plans to do something about it, that is if he lives long enough to do so.
This retelling of the Greek epic Jason and the Argonauts is a well-written fantasy tale that keeps reader attention throughout the book. The story line is fast-paced and filled with action though much is seen through the eyes of the mysterious and bewildered Proteus as opposed to Jason, Hercules, and some of the other mythical heroes. Highly regarded Fred Saberhagen, in his fourth ýBOOK OF THE GODSý novel, is not quite on the level of the mythological classic or the Ray Harryhausen animated enhanced movie, but will provide the authorýs myriad of fans with an entertaining story.

A Virtual FieldtripReview Date: 2007-01-19
The book is quite enjoyable as well as informative. I found the introductory chapters on geology particularly interesting, as they explain the nature of granite deposits and how granite is different from other types of rocks. Most important, reading the book makes me want to strap on my hiking boots and get out and climb so that I can experience these wonders for myself!
EXCELLANT !!!!Review Date: 2002-04-10
Brian Cohen's illustrations are fantastic as well.
My only disappointment was the author's photographs, though that can be forgiven fro writing such a good book. It is now a permanent part of my library.

A superbly written and hilarious account of a funk legendReview Date: 2004-04-01
Dennis Coffey comes to life and brings you along for the ride of a lifetime. Exploring Detroit in the 60's and 70's, he talks about the rise of Motown Records, his gigs, shows, and tells the stories that only an insider like him can tell. With wit and charm, he often makes you laugh out loud, and you catch yourself imagining just what it was like to be making history. This is the kind of biography and story telling that we need more of. The session players like Dennis have all sorts of great stories because the people they are, and the people they worked with, are so far above extraordinary that it makes for great reading.
Pick this book up, but be warned, you won't put it down anytime soon.

i loved every word, line, phrase diggle used. You can tell that he is very serious about his work but also loves every second of his job.i beg all of you who read this to buy this book for two reasons.Firstly the book rocks!!!!!!Secondly, the money you use to buy this book goes to diggle and the buzzcocks, which means your supporting them. If we raise enough money they may make a new album(im not saying they need more money)But even if they dont need more money or even if they do either way. buying this book is your way of saying keep at it buzzcocks, and diggle keep writing~~eric
what a rock memoir should beReview Date: 2005-02-03
The book revealed a number of things I was unaware of, such as his companionships with Ian Curtis and Kurt Cobain, and the unfortunate inspiration for Fast Cars. Diggle also talks about the severe injury to his wrist a few years ago, something that threatened to kill his ability to play guitar.
I got to see the Buzzcocks not too long ago. It was very evident that Diggle loves what he is able to still do. That lust for life quality is very evident in the book.
Harmony in My Head definitely left me wanting more; it is very short at 150 pages. I'd also be curious to read Pete Shelley's "side" of things.

Lots of anecdotes in here that I found fascinating and funny, and love having the inside scoop on the things I wondered so hard about in 1976 before the internet and videos. Classic photography. Even though I got it in paperback, it's on strong card stock that will last.
Now, be warned: I got this book because I didn't realize I already had it under another name. It has also been printed under the name "Blood and Glitter", on lesser quality, but still nice, paper. It's the exact same book, so beware. The Glam version is on much better paper and is a better product.
I highly recommend this book - even in paperback.
