Q and A Books

This story by Dorothy Nafus Morrison is about a girl named Jenny. She comes to visit her cousins,Chip and Lissie during summer vacation. It just so happened that they were in the process of moving into an old run down farm. To the whole family's suprise there was a malnourished horse in the barn! Jenny was given the privilege of naming the horse. She named him Farfalla. Jenny gave up all of her allowance just to feed him and keep his coat shiny. While Jenny was visiting with her aunt she meets a new friend named Pat. Jenny went to rodeos with Pat and competed in running around barrels and jumping with Farfalla. Unfortunately, Jenny never won a blue ribbon but she loved the experience. At the end of Jenny's vacation she got to bring Farfalla home.

I absolutly recommend this fabulous book! My fingers were anxiously wanting to turn the pages to find out what was going to happen next. I loved when Jenny gave up all of her allowance just to take care of Farfalla.

I've read almost every book in the America the beautiful seiries. They're great for Reports and papers. They give you so much information thats really intureting; not just facts. It is such a shame that Children's press is taking this wonderful seiries out of print. Buy these books now before they run out, belive me

I can't say enough great things about this book! It was one of my favorites when I was a kid, and I want to know why it's out of print!

Almost any Star Trek fan will list Q as one of their favorite recurring characters. Well, any fan of Q will find this book (written by one of the best sci-fi humorists out there in conjunction with the man who played Q) to be a major treat. Fast-paced, witty, and just plain fun, I, Q takes you on a romp through hell and back through the eyes of our favorite trickster. This is a definite must-read for any Star Trek fan.

This is a great book for beginners as well as the more experienced astronomer. The glow in the dark feature made it a favorite bedtime book for my young son. It has provided our family with hours of fun and wonder.

Mr. Anderson has written a somewhat brief, though powerful book. His stories are all true and are very inspirational. He shows us how to use the power of God in our lives. His book is along the lines of "Chicken Soup for the Soul," althought Mr. Anderson wrote his book about 20 years ago, and it's better than the "Chicken Soup" series. Although "Stories of Power and Purpose" is now out of print, it is available for a very decent price from some used book sellers on this site. Take a chance and buy it! You won't be sorry. I really treasure my copy of this book.

This book is gorgeously, hilariously written and includes some of the most incisive and original literary/cultural/queer criticism being done. The Proust section alone is worth the price of the book--but then, so is each of the other sections. Litvak clearly loves the books he's writing about, but that never dampens his relish in scoring off of them, either--his mix of identification, delight, and aggression is contagious. (At least, I hope it is.) If you ever find yourself wondering why people do critical theory after all, this book will remind and revitalize you.

Written shortly after the magnificent Kankakee River in Indiana was ditched and all the adjacent wetlands drained, Tales of a Vanishing River is filled with wonder and charm of life along a native river our generation can only imagine now, with the help of authors such as Reed. A very satisfying collection of poignant stories of people and places along the original river, "Tales.." is one of my favorite all time reads. For years I took it out of the local library in LaPorte, then I bought my own first edition, signed by the author, from a local bookseller. I return to this work annually and savor it with great relish.
