Great book. Finally, after purchasing many psychiatry books, I settled with this one. Almost all of the questions in the exam are same except for dementias and "Neuropsych tests for Dementias". That has to be covered by you elsewhere otherwise you are all set for the Psych part of ABPN Neurology,

Great book for practice questions. I only used this and Case FIles, and got an adv. I'm sure if I'd gone over it twice and Outstanding would have been easy.

But...she sometimes writes very mean heroes!! In the 1980's and 90's the HP writers never used the male point of view so it was hard to see the motivation of some heroes. In this book, I thought the hero was terrible to the heroine! The heroine found out on her wedding day to the hero, that he was using her and the marriage to cover up the fact that he was in love with his brother's wife! With that said, I still think Robyn Donald is a great writer that who pens inventive plots and original characters.
The fact that I found it so painful to read says a lot for this writer. I actually felt so bad for the heroine that I wanted her to tell the hero to "GET LOST!"
I rated this book 5 stars because I like Robyn's stories so much, but I would actually give this book 3 stars because of how much I wanted to change the ending of the story! I actually wished that it wasn't the usual Harlequin Presents happy ending!

It's a story about the important sacrifices lovers have to make in order to come together. The two main characters are fully developed and etche themselves in the reader's mind. This is not a romance where sex sizzles although the sexual tension is undeniably there. The story gently unfolds and before you know it, you cannot put the book down. Robyn Donald is at her best and so, I gave it five stars.

This book was based on the TV series that starred Jerry O'Connell (Stand By Me, Sliders, Mission To Mars, Joe's Apartment, Kangaroo Jack) as a teenage superhero. The series was very much like Smallville, but with a lower budget and only 1/2-hour-long episodes. Most of the episodes were more family-oriented, often with comedy plots. If you're a Smallville fan, you'd probably appreciate this earlier effort and enjoy the book. I am, and I wish they'd release this series on DVD.

The Book, My Secret Identity, is very good. The book is about a kid named Andrew Clemets. Andrew accidentally gets super powers by walking in front of Dr J's laser beam. And I can't remember who Barked Peanuts,Cracker Jacks! like at a baseball game. I know Jessica got in trouble for it with the principal.

Hypnotism is not supernatural,or about casting spells on peple..its about programming a susceptible mind...so I think that the subject was a bit wrongly portrayed in this story.I dont care though. It is really a funny funny book!Jessica, being the way she is!,decides SHE can hypnotise people just like the amazing DR.Q who is visiting their school.Hard to believe I know but Jessica stuffs up.

Elizabeth, meanwhile,is also hilarious as she stammers her way through a clumsy interview with Dr.Q trying to prove the woman a fraud.

Jaid Black's amazing talent with words never ceases to amaze me. She knows exactly how to draw a reader into the storyline and make the characters on the page come alive. Her Trek M'Qan series has kept me spellbound from beginning to end, and left me hungry for more. Her futuristic reality keeps getting more and more amazing with each installment. I can't wait for the next one. Keem 'em coming!

Jaid Black continues her winning streak with the latest installment of her fabulous TREK MI Q'AN series. Once again, she astounds us with her imagination, always introducing new species, the latest being a vampire-like barbarian race that intrigues us with just a "taste." We can only hope that she plans to satisfy our whetted appetites with a bigger gulp next time.

If you haven't tried this series yet, and you think you'd like a futuristic, sexually-oriented society with stunning erotica and equally generous helpings of pure romance, give the TREK series a try. You'll be sooooooo glad you did! Be forewarned though, it's highly addictive!

The greatest Spanish epic
Helpful Votes: 7 out of 7 total.
Review Date: 2001-01-26
This book should belong to the universal, or at least Western, canon of all times. It is the foundation of Spanish literature and national myth. And, for those who think classics, especially medieval, are boring, surprise, it is not at all.

Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, the Cid, is a great warrior who, because of political intrigue, is dismissed by his master. He leaves and continues his fight against the Moors, who are the masters of most Spain since the 9th century. He conquers Valencia and starts forging his legend, fighting not only the Moors but other traitors to the cause of unfying Spain. One of the best and most famous scenes is the marriage of his two daughters, Urraca and Ximena. The book is written in truly epic style, full of adventures, battles, duels and, especially all the Medieval flavor that makes it unforgettable. In a good translation, the grandiosity of many sentences should be neatly perceived. It's hard to stop recommending this great work of art, a true belonger to the best classic literature the West has produced.

IMMORTAL TALE OF CHIVALRY AND HEROISM
Helpful Votes: 8 out of 8 total.
Review Date: 2002-05-10
The Poem of the Cid (here translated by Lesley Byrd Simpson) is required reading for anyone interested in tales of high adventure, honor, and chivalry, for these things are the backgone of one of literature's greatest sagas: the tale of Ruy Diaz of Bivar, the Cid, and Spain's greatest knight.

Unfairly exiled from his King's country, the Cid throws himself into Moorish Spain to battle, plunder, and rebuild his name. Eventually the Cid's heroism explodes the King's enmity, and he returns home in glory. But the Cid errs in marrying his unsuspecting daughters to the craven Princes of Carrion, unleashing such suffering and dishonor on the girls that only a colorful trial by combat can satisfy the Cid's lust for revenge and heal his family's wounded honor.

Rich in medieval tapestry and flavor and a more realistic depiction of the "chivalric code" than one finds in parallel works (the Cid, for all his honor, is not above deceiving his enemies--or some of his friends!), The Poem of the Cid is highly recommended to anyone born with the spirit of a knight in their heart.

Presidents of the United States of America

Review Date: 2007-09-16
We went to the Smithsonian Art Museum - Washington, DC - Aug 2007. They said that a book was no longer available that contained all the Nation's Presidents' paintings that they had on display. I figured I'd find an old book, but was very happy to find a book that contained most all of the paintings I saw, plus a better description of each of our leaders while they spent a term in office. I was impressed to see them up close at the museum, knowing the artist was just as close. Now I have this book as my souvenier and historical reminder of all our presidents images - done by a reknown artist - and their history. It's just what I'd asked for at the museum. They could sell a lot of these books if they had them on hand. Why wouldn't they stock them?

A Wonderful Presidential Overview
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2007-04-04
I ordered 2 different books on U.S. Presidents for my daughter's schoolwork, and this was definitely the best one. Very informative and concise, there is a two page spread on each president with one of the pages having a good sized color portrait of that president. Each article gives their name, order, years of presidency, a copy of their signature, and an overview of their life from childhood until death. This book is put out by the White House Historical Association and is a wonderful choice if you are looking for an informative glimpse of our current and past presidents. An entertaining read for children and adults.

The Working Screenwriter delivers answers to some of the questions that wander in the minds of hopeful screenwriters. As an aspiring screenwriter myself, I found this book enlightening, and entertaining as well. The diversity of perspectives from the panel of screenwriters is more valuable than most people realize. Jim Vines does know this value, and shares it with us, in this must read book for the novice and the professional as well.

This book really does answer all the questions that a young (and even an experienced) writer has about the nuts & bolts experience of writing and selling a movie today. As a story analyist, the information about the writing process and how it differs from person to person was very useful to me and the mechanics of selling as well. I now feel more sympathy for the screenwriters' whose scripts I read. I highly recommend this book.
