I liked this book because it was very funny. It ws about diffrent things happening in this one school

This is a wonderful little book for first and second graders. There is much for them to enjoy here. Second grade characters go against the grain and prefer potatoes over pumpkins for their Halloween celebration.
In a test of wills between Big Gloria and Mr.Salami, both stand their ground and find respect for each other's opinion. They agree to disagree.

With statements like "...we have a great love and respect for potatoes." and " Potatoes are radical," Big Gloria is now one of my favorite fictional characters.

This is not only one of the best books, but the best audio to go along wiht a book. I teach 4 year olds and every year I take out this book and tape and every student is mesmorized. Soon they are begging to hear it again and singing along. It has been a hit in my classroom for about 6 years now-it is wonderful!

The reader finds himself waiting for it as this electrifying entertaining book goes forward: Independence. Now they've got it. In a moving ceremony at the Mahali, HRH Princess Margaret swears in the Governor General Sir Bertram Tibbets, who then swears in his Ministers. the Union Jack has come down and the green-black-green flag of the new nation now flies proudly.

The pagentry continues during the State Opening of the new nation's Parliament as Princess Margaret reads an eye-opening Queen's Address from the Throne. Cassell outdoes himself on this one, using the spirit and tension of his own ten years deeply involved in Nation-Building.

This story is a must-read for lovers of politico-military drama.

Great book! Easy to read! Nice pics. We are getting more of the authors books.

I read this story to my 9-year-old son and not only was he transfixed by the engaging illustrations, he could also relate to the protagonist of the story--a boy about his age struggling to do his math homework when he'd rather be doing anything but. My son laughed at the boy's tirade and subsequent fantasy, and we were both relieved by the story's happy ending.

One of the famous very vintage Buddy books from the 1930's, with a spunky red cover! How did he grow his pumpkin? You'll have to read the book to find out what happens. For kids, teens, or young at heart grownups.

Hardback, 212 pages. Paper is aging. Hard to find. Great deal, recommended.

I loved this book! The techniques and tips for pumpkin carving had me doing it like a pro. The book contains many patterns in the back that are also a big help. Highly recommended!!

This was a gift I purchased for my grandson for his first Halloween. He plays with it all the time. It is one of his favorite books. I act out the parts for him and now at almost 17 months he is even beginning to say the rhyme with me.
I taught kindergarten and first grade for many years and this song was always a favorite Halloween song in my classroom!
Why was I attracted to this particular version, the little baby on the cover looks like my grandson!

This book is one of the most beautiful and unique children's books I have ever seen. I bought it as a gift for a friend of mine who owns a garden center and she adores it! A very cute story with amazing illustrations.
