Sub-prime Mortgage Collapse, Credit Squeeze, and Bank Failures

I originally read this book in the early 1990s.

After the sub-prime mortgage crisis and now credit crisis of 2008, I thought to myself, I have read about this somewhere but could not remember where.

I finally was able to remember this book's name and got it from the library recently to read it again.

Folks, Mary Summer Rain wrote about the collapse of our economy that we are witnessing now in 2008. What is amazing is this book was printed all the way back in 1987.

The first chapter of this book exactly describes WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW! Collapse of the stock market, banks going under, restriction of credit, collapse of real estate markets and land devaulations, etc.

Get this book! It is chilling how the things she wrote about in 1987 are happening right now...

If the rest of what No-Eyes prophesized is still in the cards then we are in for a very bumpy ride ahead.

Highly recommend reading. Her predictions of the future are spot on. This book was written in 1987 and many of her predictions have come to pass, some are actually happening NOW and she has predictions for the future. Very interesting.

This is the most detailed view / explination of the Coming Earth Changes I am aware of. ( Daybreak would be an excellent book covering some concepts in greater detail ). Certainly I would rate this book with 5 stars as it is one of the top ten books that one must own. I have read and reread the book many times and continue to refer to it.

If you are aware of your surroundings you will understand my explination when I say this book shakes me from 10 feet away when my eyes make contact with the cover.

I have given this books to my dear friends. Usually I am pretty tight with my money. I greatly enjoy the authors easy to read / understand writing style.

Mary Summer Rain would always be welome at my campfire any time and I would share my food with her.

Phoenix Rising written by Mary Summer Rain as dictated by 'NoEyes' is more relevant today than when first written years ago. As the world progressively gets crazy, the senseless violence she predicted has continued. No common sense is running rampant and the values our forefathers began our country with are falling by the wayside.

Amazing, spiritual and full of incredible secrets. I wish I have read this book before I travelled to Egypt and Mexico. I remember the places, but at that time I could not understand all the details and the story behind it. This book explains in such details the way of thinking and planning of little details for future generations to discover the secrets of The Mayan, Tutankhamun Prophecies.
After reading this book, I look at the stars at night and my mind just drifts away.

The book starts with a short introduction of previous work the author has done regarding the Mayan culture. As he explains, he cracked a secret code the Mayans used to leave messages to future finders. The code involved a jade mask and a lid of a sarcophagus. The author discovered that when one projects images of these mirror onto itself, new pictures form. He presents the readers with his ideas regarding these images and the explanation thereof.

In my opinion, the author makes a few excellent points in this introduction, and I do genuinely believe he really is onto something regarding secret messages and the way to decode them; however I cannot help but feel as if at times the author sees things that really aren't there. He is determined to prove himself right, and thus presents 'evidence' that's at times very meager and very open for discuussion.

After this introduction, the author switches from the Mayans to the Egyptians, and specifically secret messages left in Tutankhamon's tomb in the form of objects. Obviously a great lover of math, he picks a few random objects from the treasure and goes on to analyze them. All their pecurilarities are counted, multiplied, and summed up to always come to the same set of numbers.

Again, I cannot help but feel as if the author is trying to fit everything to his own conclusions. He believes the Tutankhamon is one of the super-gods, just like the Mayan emporer, Buddham and Jesus. He presents his case by referring to the divine number 144,000, and various things that links the Mayan emporer to Tutankhamon (For instance, both are identified with a feathered snake. The Mayan emporer by Quetzeqotl, Tutankhamon by the cobra and the eagle of his crown). Furthermore, he draws a few conclusions that are blatantly speculative in my opinion. As an example, the author quotes a list of known 64 pharaos, noting that neither Achnaton nor Tutankhamon (Achnaton's son) were recorded on this list. Then, he tries proving that a necklace found in the tomb, carrying 64 complete and 2 broken beads, represents this list. This is in my humble opinion, a little far fetched.

The third part of the book starts with an account of a UFO sighting, and moves from energy lines to telepatism, and how freemasons possess secret ancient knowledge. Why this is included in the same book is a puzzle to me; the connection to the 'middle chapter' about Egypt is unclear, and the third part is highly speculative.

All in all, I'd recommend against buying this book. I do fully intend to read the author's other book on the cracking of the Mayan code, but feel as if I gained very little by reading this book; loosely linked theories are presented by the author as solid evidence, and used to prove other theories assumptions he makes. All this leads me to believe the case the author is trying to build is shaky at the best.

I bought this book thinking it was reference about the Mayan calendar end date. I was wrong. This book is a totally new revelation of an age-old theory that was concealed within the ancient carvings of two breathtaking civilizations, and a secret society with an agenda not known to anyone. What totally interested me is the sceitific approach Cotterell took in his analysis, and although his methods might seem to some people as intricately improbable, I think that he employed the sciences of maths and physics into an outstanding revelation of ancient knowledge. I think most readers of this genre are true believers that ancient wisdom outmatches our own, and that the knowledge known to our great ancestors will probably never be available to us. So in this fine work of his, Cotterell analysed buildings, tombs, treasures and literature of ancient Maya and Egypt, applying numerous scientific theories and equations to draw on his conclusions. I personally am a big fanatic of ancient civilizations and I believe that the Mayan culture was narrowed down to its calendar, while the secrets within their culture are uncountable. Same goes with the Egyptians who mystified the new world with their culture. The greatest thing about this book is that it attempts to create bonds between its different conclusions, and it never fails to back up any statement with illustrations and scientific proof. By the end of part 1 I was amazed, and although I haven't read Cotterell's first book, The Supergods, this book managed to give me a fair summary of what the previous one concluded. The secret revealed is not anything you would expect. Some might believei it's a simple idea, while I personally believe it's an outstanding revelation. If you're a reader of Zecheria Sitchin, Erich Von Deineken or others in this genre, you will most likely ponder for hours after reading this one.

Solar flares are the reason behind all our problems and the the world can only be saved by mathamaticians. Aside from the usual "Hey look Mom, I figured out the meaning of the pyramids" stuff that seems to be in all of these esoteric books there is a smacking of truth in amongst all the those calculations. It may not be enough to support some of the theories put forward by Mr. Cotterell but it is certainly food for thought. If you don't mind wading through the math, there are at least 144,000 seperate calculations, then I would reccommend the reading.

I read this book first about 2 years ago. Frankly Randi didnt seem to spend enough time discussing the subject of the book,Nostaradamus. He discusses astrology in great detail which is interesting at first but eventually becomes tiresome. The book would have a better read if more focus was on debunking nostradamus. The time spent explaining why people have interpreted his quatrains incorrectly is very interesting though. And the stories about Nostradamus and the predictions he provided for individuals of his day were particularly fascinating and really seemed to smash the image most people currently hold of him. Overall its a good book, clearly Mr. Randi did loads of research here. He provides an impressive amount of historical evidence to backup his claims, that's why so many people who review his books at amazon attack him personally, rather than his writings.

Th only criticism I have of Randi's work here is that, if you've read many of his other works (Flim Flam, Truth About Uri Geller), some of this will seem like repeat material. Randi's treatment of magic vs. science seems very familiar at this point and (to the repeat reader) seems not to beg repeating at this point. However, Randi cannot be blamed for laying a useful and important foundation each time he assails another facet of mythology, so take this note as less a criticism and more a warning to the repeat Randi reader.

This book is certainly worth the purchase, even with some of the same foundational material. Randi carefully lays the groundwork of the world that allowed Nostradamus to flourish and provides a great deal of source material from the time period, including a comical exchange between the prophet and one of his clients who begs, repeatedly, for the prophet to perhaps try to make his handwriting legible! Randi also examines many of the prophet's predictions, pointing out the vague lack of details and the failed predictions that had time limits attached to them - limits that have passed without the prophecy's fulfillment.

I honestly wish that the layout of this book had been a bit different - I would have preferred the detailed examinations of prophecy and their failures first, and then a look at the time period and events that allowed the prophet to flourish in spite of his failures, rather than the other way around, but the book still reads very smoothly.

I cant believe all the 5 star reviews this book receives. Its is badly written, most of the book is about other things rather than Nostradamus and it is not an objective view.

The thing I really cant believe is when reading this book the author will spend most of a chapter discussing totally irrelevant things and then have 1 paragraph about Nostradamus.

Why are people giving this book great reviews, what am I missing here! I think the high reviews are because people are just glad of reading a book that discounts Nostadamus's prophecies, but that doesn't mean the book is a good one.

I dont believe in his prophecies either but the book could have been so much better.

This book is as close to the truth as anything on planet earth can provide. Throw away your bibles and take a good look at sense and logic. Reading this book will make you feel good, like your worth something and have a purpose. It will empower you which the bible dose not, and never will till it's been corrected to be what it was meant to be in the first place. I wish the global elite would read this book, for if they did and could see, they would change the course of their affairs. The more people that read this book with any kind of understanding would lead us to true enlightenment. I only hope the human race can take off it's blinders, get out of the fish bowl and really see the truth for a change.

Voyagers 2 is an excellent source for our many billion years of history. It is a massive book but really only touches on the most significant events in our past in order to bring you up to speed with where we are sitting now. Since the book was published a few years back, it tells of relevant events up untill the point of publishing. As another review writer had mentioned, you can find more info on azuritepress.com of what has been released lately. The information has been coming through full speed since this book and there is a lot of updates as to where things are at right now.

This book contains a large ammount of history, which all resonates with me as truth, but some of the stuff that I have found personally to be more interesting, has been released in the recent workshops over the past few years. If you are still contemplating reading this or not reading it, I'd strongly recomend that you let it speak for itself and give it a read.

What I have personally found with this work, is that I have found a personal knowing. I have found my truth and my path in life thanks to this information. There are no questions if this is the real deal. I encourage everyone to seek out their own knowing in their own lives. Not everyone has the same path... But if you are still searching, give voyagers a shot, and find out for yourself if it is right for you. All I can say is that I'm glad I did and that is has given me the self empowerment that I needed to be happy and joyful in life. What else could you ask for? :)

You should read this book . . .

Ascended Masters and Host can come quite suddenly to those who are seeking answers and for others, an entire lifetime. In this book and Voyager I we are confronting very complex information for a select few of spiritually advanced souls who will connect fully without the need of understanding the equations of science and the dogmas of religion.

When information is given, it is given in small pieces. If we were to receive all of it at once we would overload, literally overload.

Ashayana Deane is not the Master she is just telling the story(from dictations) about creation. Her personal life should not be the question here. She is the wayshower.

As with all information from the Hosts it should be discerned for it's truth, for some will channel and tell lies, but, your I AM will know it's creator and the fabrications.

GOD or SOURCE guides and aids us in discovering the roadmaps that we will need for us to co-create sensibly. Remember always, that if anyone takes away your 'free will' then they are not working for your benefit , but, for their own selfish agenda.

Ashayana Deane is a guide through which the forces of nature speak for better or worse along our path, it is our own free will that we are ultimately guided and are true connections to SOURCE and GOD and the I AM are made as we co-create.

'Be cautious and work from within your hearts, if you constantly seek the truth outside yourselves then you are still lost, trust in your I AM and you will know.'

'GOD lives within, be wise and co-create intelligently and

compassionately.'

SOURCE is FREE and never makes you pay for TRUTH.

I recommend this book along with Voyager I. It is not for the faint- hearted, but, for the fierce spiritual warrior whose on a path towards TRUTH and LIGHT and flawless creation.

Borrow this book if you can, if not, buy it and give it away to someone who is searching.

As with Volume I of the Voyager series this volume continues on with the history of earth and the human experience here. The information in this volume is as dense and complex as the first one and will definitely change you on a micro/macro level as you read and absorb the material. It was a great relief to get information that finally made some sense for me. As with Vol I I highly recommend this book if you find you have outgrown the fairy tale stories that are perpetuated about the human experience. Very mature work. Embracing Israel

Review Date: 2008-04-24
The nation of Israel has such a rich history that it seems hard to understand that they have almost no land and have never been a great world power. But biblical history shows that this is a people that has existed more or less to be an example of what God's people look like, and how they should live. There have been some rougher times in this country's history that their example was not the greatest, but all in all their heritage and purpose has been derived from direction by the guidance of the Hebrew Bible, and the promises that the God of that Bible makes.

Both in the Christian and Jewish churches, there has been speculation as to what the future looks like for the church. Based on ancient writings, Christians and Messianic Jewish believers follow Jesus Christ as the God of the Bible and the fulfilment of centuries of prophecy. Even still, much of the prophecies also spoke about a later time in history.

Don Finto writes his book, "Your People Shall Be My People," from years of research and study. He tells of the history of the people of Israel, and their plight to survive in a world that time and again has tried to eradicate their population and existence. He then goes on to describe recent history that is once again lining up with the words of ancient Jewish prophets, showing how predictions are coming to reality again.

He writes with a sad heart for the Jewish struggle. He explains that even Christians have made the Bible only about themselves and replaced the references to Israel with the idea that this word now represents the Christian church. He laments over the persecution of Jesus during the Spanish Inquisition and the Crusades. He recalls testimonies of those holocaust survivors that lived in the horror of this history.

But between biblical and historical reference, Finto shows us that we should embrace the Jewish people, and that there will be blessings for those that embrace their nation and people. He does this through the biblical story of Ruth. Ruth loses her husband, and though she is a foreigner, decides to return to with his grieving mother to his nation of Israel, and embrace his family, culture, and religion as her own.

Through conversation on Zionism, Judaism, Denominationalism, and anti-Semitism, Finto writes on the past, present, and future of the people of Israel, and how we should embrace their culture, their heroes, and their future role in God's plan for mankind.

Last year I was encouraged by a Christian friend that I should share a particular affection for the Jewish people as God's chosen people, and pray for them specifically. At the time, I was totally confused as to why it was important. This book allowed me to understand God's heart for the people He has chosen to call his own, and to deliver His son Jesus Christ to offer salvation to all mankind. I would recommend that everyone should read "Your People Shall Be My People" and similar books about embracing the future of Israel, and the affection God shares for them.

Your People Shall Be My People should be. For anyone who puts their faith in Yeshua ha Machiach, Jesus the Christ, this is a must read! It should be in every believers library.

This is an incredible book for opening your eyes to where we should be in relation to our Jewish brothers and sisters. It is very easy to read, but it does challenge you to go deeper into studying God's word.
After I finished reading this book, it changed the way I read and studied my bible. I no longer read the bible thinking it's all about me, here in America(replacement theology). When the bible talks about Israel, it means Israel. I believe in this book so much that I bought a case of them (60) and have been passing them out. I consider it an investment into God's kingdom. It's time for the American church to realize our part in "praying for the peace of Jerusalem".
Don's follow-up book "Future of Israel" is also a fantasit book. He is an excellent, understandable writer!

Brown is the foremost Christian expert on Judaism, and I highly recommend this 4-volume set. This volume centers on messianic prophecy and is my favorite of the four volumes. It can either be read as a reference source (looking up different objections in the book is not hard using the index) or read all the way through. I have chosen the former method--and this particular volume has more highlighting than the others--so while I haven't read every page, they're on my shelf whenever a question on Judaism arises. The thing about Judaism is it is so different moving from Orthodox all the way to Reformed. But the general ideas in this book cover all the branches. Every Christian should be able to talk to their Jewish believer friends, family, and co-workers, because the topic is of utmost importance.

I read the author useto be a drug taking fully irreligous Jewish youth, and then he suddenly came to religoun- of Christianity. It is indeed easier to meld with the large majority and not haveto keep all those many Jewish laws. But then again in Moslem lands its easier to be Moslem. For those truly seeking the Truth, volumes of volumes are way too much. It's really not that difficult.

THE FALLACY OF THE FOUNDATIONS OF CHRISTIANITY
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 5 total.
Review Date: 2008-04-16
Christians have been trying to shoehorn Jesus into the Torah for almost 2000 years, and no matter how they try, the bottom line is that all their "proofs" are painful and transparent contortions of the facts, mistranslations from the original Hebrew (into Greek, the language of the New Testament), out-of-context misunderstandings, or outright falsehoods. Two excellent sources of this are to be found in the books "Twenty-Six Reasons Why Jews Don't Believe in Jesus" by Asher Norman, and "Why the Jews Rejected Jesus" by David Klinghoffer. In these books, one will find concrete and convincing examples of why Jesus could not have been the Messiah, and why Jews, most pointedly the Jews who lived with and knew Jesus personally, rejected his claims. The reader will find that in the Torah there are six absolute requirements for Messiahship, none of which Jesus fulfilled. To be the Messiah, one must fulfill these requirements. For example, the Messiah MUST be a direct descendant of King David. Since Christians claim that Jesus had no Earthly father (as in Matthew, first page), this eliminates him from consideration as Messiah. When reading the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew and Luke, one will find that the two are totally different and contradictory; in fact, they differ by 15 generations. This eliminates Jesus from consideration. Another Messianic criterion is that the Messiah will rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem. Jesus did not do that, since the Temple had not yet been destroyed during Jesus' lifetime; this eliminates him from Messianic consideration. Another requirement is that the Messiah will be annointed King of Israel, and oversee the "gathering of the exiles back into Israel." Since Jesus was not annointed King of Israel, and in fact soon after his death Israel was destroyed by the Romans and the people exiled into the Diaspora, it eliminates Jesus from consideration as Messiah. There are many other examples that provide absolute and incontrovertible proof that Jesus could not possibly have been the Messiah. The reason why Christians are generally not aware of these facts is that their religious education STARTS with the New Testament, and their knowledge of the Torah is only through "the lens of a Christian," which by definition includes all the errors, misunderstandings, and lack of fundamental knowledge inherent in that religion. It turns out that the story of Jesus became entwined with the local pagan mystery cults of the time, including the mythical men-gods Baal, who was killed and resurrected "on the third day," and had a supposed virgin mother; Attis, who also had a virgin mother, was resurrected after three days, and whose birthday was December 25th; Isis, whose religion included sin being forgiven through immersion in water, and whose birthday was also December 25th; and Mithras, who was regarded as a "mediator between God and man, who performed miracles, whose birthday was also on December 25th, and who killed the "sacred bull," which provided life by consuming its body and blood. Mithras held a "last supper" with his disciples, who all had to be "purified by baptism." One can start to see that, at the time of Jesus, it was very unlikely that Judaism, with its commandments for circumcision and kosher laws, could spread to the pagans without some "tweaking," which included the elimination of laws of ethics and morality, and a certain blending with their comfortable beliefs.

For all Christians who genuinely want to understand their own religion, and especially for any Jews who have sadly fallen for the convoluted manipulations of the Jews for Jesus movement, the two books cited above are a must. I believe that anyone who sincerely reads these two books will come away with a much clearer picture of Judaism and Christianity, and why Jesus was and will always be rejected by the Jewish people.

This is a great book for gentiles because it is such encouragement to our faith in Jesus who is the Messiah, the Prophet and the Priest in the order of Melchizedek. Thank you Michael Brown ! On the other hand, it is truly an encouragement and a great introduction to the Jewish people who are truly looking for their Messiah. Michael gently removes the veil of bias that has trapped Messiah's people for 1,000 years in darkness. For a time such as this, God gave his chosen people a man like Michael Brown, himself a Jew, to come against years of arguments and to let the light shine in and reveal the Glory of God.

I am a Certified Law of Attraction Practitioner. This book is absolutely "right on." I've been practicing the "Love's Pathyway" exercise for about 3 weeks now, and I feel myself changing at a core level. I know that this is the missing ingredient to living a joy-filled life and manifesting positive results in my personal life and business.

This is one of the few books on Law of Attraction or "The Secret" that puts a newer spin on it. Most LoA afficianados that I know say that they are very motivated with the secret until it comes to the "spiritual" aspect of it. That's when they "gloss" over it. Carnelian Sage points out that the Spiritual aspect is the main essence of Law of Attraction. This is one of the few books that shares Biblical principals with new age principals.

To quote John Lennon: "All you need is Love".

The movie "The Secret" has opened up a new aspect to the realm of conscientiousness and understanding. This book is like the icing on the cake. It also opens up another dimension to the law of attraction that gives you the missing pieces of the puzzle. Even though this book is short, the information in this book is endless which means when you read it again and again you get even more info. A truly great book.

This book blew me away--it is divinely inspired!

I have read a LOT of material about the Law of Attraction. I've even taken classes to become a Law of Attraction practitioner. And yet I still learned so much from The Greatest Manifestation Principle in the World. I could not put it down. I was so blown away by this profound book! It is so well written that I'm convinced it's divinely inspired. It is elegant in its simplicity, and it addresses the "elephant in the room," namely what everyone is thinking, but no one is bold enough to say out loud -- "I believe in the Law of Attraction, I've been using it, but IT'S JUST NOT WORKING FOR ME!"

This book showed me how LOA results are related to motive. I've used LOA so many times with almost zero results, but I saw it work for me BIG TIME in four separate instances in my life. In those four times, the spectacular results were fueled by the "greatest manifestation principle" of which this book speaks. I'm convinced that LOA works when we are in alignment with that principle. It can't help but work because the resulting state of being is our true nature.

Kudos to Carnelian Sage for getting to the real "heart" of the matter, and revealing the true secret behind "The Secret" . . . the power of love. In this small but powerful book, Sage sheds light on several aspects of "The Secret" that many people find misleading. Plus, Sage takes a somewhat more traditionally spiritual approach to the process of manifestation, one that appeals to people like me who are comfortable using the word "God" to represent a higher, universal intelligence.

Though being only slightly interesting this series is dull and un inspired.Only if because i was waiting for her to explain some plot, or what the awakening is and how it awakens. or how it could be Noriko. Or I don't know..if she was ever going to explain anything. I got to volume 4 and still didn't care about any of the characters nor did i understand this "political" crap side story the author adds in.

Noriko is your typical damsel in distress and the names of the characters couldn't be dumber. It's tired, it's been done better. and besides the characters not being able to communicate in the begining (which how this is a plus i can barely understand) THERE IS NO INNOVATION.

this story is as boring as it's undistinguishable lead characters. if i don't care after FOUR volumes...you know a story is lacking something...like real heart or genuine interest.

This is one of my favorite manga. I love the artwork. It's beautiful! The storyline is a fantasy with a little romance thrown in. The lead female character is helpless alot so that kind of bugs me but then sometimes, very seldom, she is fearless. The lead male character is cool! A great read! This manga is 14 volumes. The end is almost here, I can't wait to see how it finishes up.

A good story, for younger readers

This is a review to express my feeling after having completed the 14 volume series.

I picked up this manga b/c I was having Red River withdrawal, and thought I'd give another 'teleport to a distanct country/time/place' manga a try.

The reason I'm giving this manga 4 starts instead of three is because as a story, this is well written and despite being disappointed by the lack of 'romance' in a manga that's labeled shoujo... I did enjoy it. As a fantasy/action story, this one was rather refreshing. The main heroine doesn't annoy me like so many 'virginal' pure manga heroines do, she does her best to be strong throughout and isn't self-absorbed or whiney, and you just have to love the main hero of the story. His predicament reminds me a lot of The Violinist of Hameln, raging demon on the inside that if he doesn't learn to control, will consume him, etc... The villains were pretty well done as well. Gotta love those cute lil' Chimos hehe.

For me tho, I wanted to see more development in the relationship between Noriko and Izark, there just wasn't enough romance for me to be satisfied. I was expecting even a KISS at the end or something... major dissapointment there... I can count the number of times Izark kissed Noriko on one hand throughout all fourteen volumes. I would recommend this for a younger reader, but if you are like me- (you enjoy a bit of fantasy and would rather search after a mature + label) I would recommend Red River instead.

Greetings From Far Away- An Overview of the Entire Series

Viz's Shoujo imprint has some of the best epic fantasy/romance manga on the market. From Far Away is comparable to series like Red River, Basara, and Fushigi Yugi: Genbu Kaiden in that they focus on the lives and loves of young women with great and often seemingly tragic destinies. I dearly love the above mentioned series, and since From Far Away has recently concluded its English language release, I'll tell you how it stacks up in comparison.

At the heart of From Far Away is a beauty and beast love story set in a fantasy world. The beauty is Noriko Tachiki, a spacey high schooler whose brush with death sends her hurtling through time and space to an alternate dimension. She is the Awakening, a ominous person spoken about in legend who will herald a disastrous time for this new land. The beast is Izark Kia Taj, a handsome, stand-offish mercenary with a terrible fate. He harbors the Sky Demon within himself, which will consume him when he comes in contact with the Awakening. As political turmoil and civil unrest engulf the land, powerful men would stop at nothing to claim the Sky Demon's power for themselves.

The characterization is perhaps the best aspect of From Far Away. Noriko manages to get her act together fairly quickly, and evolves into a plucky, resourceful heroine. Izark, of course, learns about love and stuff. There rather slowly unfolding romance is responsible for the best scenes in this series and any other shoujo comic I have read thus far. Of course, over the course of their journey to break their fates, they meet a colorful cast of side-characters. Another admirable aspect of From Far Away is the way the artist portrays people that otherwise wouldn't be portrayed as heroic as heroes. From a stout middle-aged woman with wisdom and nerves of steel to an aging political administrator, likable side characters drift in and out of the story.

However, the political storyline is the weakest aspect and it shares nearly as much face time as the character interactions. Of course, there is a crew of villains who want Izark and Noriko for their own nefarious purposes. The villains are never particularly well-developed and come across as being crazy evil for the flimsiest of reasons. The political situation of the world was never particularly interesting from the get-go but it is continuously developed throughout the story without ever managing to spark one iota of interest. Indeed, From Far Away stumbles by cementing Noriko and Izark as a couple way to soon. By volume 9, they are pretty much dedicated to each other and they don't have anywhere to go as characters. This leaves five volumes for the uninteresting political storyline to take center stage. Honestly, by the time the final volume was published, I was so sick of the good vs. evil storyline it almost didn't pick it up.

Overall, From Far Away is a series that went on too long. I don't think it helps that it is an acquired taste. After going back over the entire thing, I find it hard to believe that I followed it until the end because the first two volumes are dreadful. I have fond memories of many parts from the middle of the series, and I wouldn't hesitant to recommend it to younger girls that aren't mature enough to handle other shoujo epics like Basara and Red River. However, this just isn't a story that will endure multiple readings.

This book was very interesting, it described some history of the European Union and how it appears to be playing a role in prophecies (Daniel and Revelations). I do not claim to know a lot about Revelations symbolism and meanings but the book will make you set back and say "hmmm". Revelations can be interpreted so many different ways and so many people could qualify for the part of the AC. But, you have to admitt, once you know who Herb is talking about (and Google him), this guy has his hands in a lot of stuff and has a great deal of power. Is Herb correct in his analysis? Well, he could be and then again he could be wrong (as many people in the past have been). In the book he doesn't say one way or the other, he provides the facts and lets you decide. He just points to prophecies and relates the prophecies to things that have happened in the EU. My only issue with the book is that so much has happend since it was printed, a lot of which Herb thought/suggested would happen. However, his family maintaines a website that is updated frequently. I highly recommend reading this book to become fimilar with the EU and its role in prophecies.

First of all, if you're not a Christian, you can respect this book for the verified research presented.

If you are a Christian, I think this book not only illuminates the nearness of Christ's return, but in doing so, brings your own spiritual life under the blade of the Holy Spirit and if there are things that need to be delt with, after reading this book it will be hard to let them go.

A must read for anyone serious about end times prophecy (which is NOW times prophecy) Jesus is coming soon. Yes they have been saying that for a long time, but when you read this book, you'll see that we are VERY VERY close to the actual event happening.

Would resell it here but I threw it in the garbage...

I definitely would not recommend this book. The author is completely wrapped up in his conspiracy theory about his choice for the AC. He refuses to look at the whole picture because afterall, he wrote a book that he wants to come true.

As another person said previously, stick with the Bible. Don't allow yourself to get caught up in this conspiracy theory because his version of the AC and the AC Kingdom is not Biblical no matter how hard he tries to twist scripture.

Herb has made this book very easy to follow, and it makes for a very interesting read.

Although I may not agree 100% with everything he says, I haven't found anyone yet that I do agree with 100% of the time.

I would recommend the book if this sort of thing interests you.
There are a few 'Herb Peter bashers' that I've found on a well known 'Christian Forum' who are likely the ones that left the negative comments about his book here.

If you are looking for true christianity, please look into your local churches; Not on the internet.

The EU's Power Play

Review Date: 2006-12-05
There are a number of things I think are worth noting about this book:
1) The author presents his material in an intelligent, non-sensational fashion.
2) He consistently states that you should not take his word for anything, nor should you build your faith around what he says in his book. You should judge for yourself.
3) I did not get the impression that the author is dead set on naming Javier Solana as the Anti-Christ. What I DID come away with was that the author believes it is very possible that the position Solana now holds in the EU could very well be the position from which the Anti-Christ eventually rises, whether it's Solana or someone else.

While Mr. Peters' book is not perfect, it is worth reading - with your Bible open - as it details many of the things that have occurred and are occurring in today's world. From a Christian perspective, I often wondered how someone like the Anti-Christ could come onto the world's playing field unnoticed. I assumed the signs would be so obvious that it would be difficult NOT to notice. This book delves into the origins and growth of the European Union and its impact it has had and continues to have on the world's stage. It seems that the EU has been quietly working in the background for decades and while the organization itself has built up what appears to be a tremendous position of power within the world's community, it has largely gone unnoticed by most of the world.

Is Javier Solana the Anti-Christ? Only God knows. Is this book worth reading? Absolutely, for no other reason that to be brought up to date on the EU and the true power it possesses as well as learning what its political aims might be, based on the articles that the organization has written, approved and put into effect.

It boggles my mind that an organization like the EU can become what it has become, right under our collective noses - a perfect venue for the eventual rise of the individual that will one day make a pact with Israel, only to break it 3 and a half years later, and turn then to fight against God and all who side with Him.

Christians need to know what's going on in the world. Things are moving at breakneck speed and too many Christians are asleep, or have long given up trying to figure out anything about the End Times because they have been too long confused by it. Me? I like to know what the human powers are attempting to accomplish in this world. Whether the Anti-Christ comes on the scene in my lifetime, or my children's lifetime, the EU has quickly become a powerhouse that can no longer be ignored. There are far too many coincidences occurring now in the EU for that organization to NOT be part of the prophetic package of the End Times.

The only reservations I have about Herb Peters is the way in which he seems to focus primarily (and possibly ONLY) on the End Times, preferring to not even deal with other controversial issues within Christendom today. This is in evidence at his posting forum, where his moderators are allowed to run the place however they like and as it turns out, if you tend not to agree with THEIR particular theological bent, then say "good-bye."

While Herb's book is a good one, there is much more to being a Christian than focusing solely on the End Times debate.
