This book shares timely revelations from the Word of God that seem to have laid dormant until this present day. The author does an excellent job of examining the various "beginnings" in scripture, and then shows how they also point to the end-times. Certainly now is the destined time that God is opening up scripture to enlighten our "understanding the end by looking at the beginning." Though that seems like such a simple concept, Symon Boschma has brought forth some deep unravelings of the future through the revelations God has given him. Truly, it is amazing how much God reveals about His purposes from scripture. How much more have we yet to find? Though containing much to chew on, this book is written in a layman's language so that it can be accessible to most anyone. Boschma writes with passion for his subject, and it spills over on the reader. I'm glad that this book crossed my path; in fact, I believe the Lord intentionally brought it to my attention. Seeing the past in scripture interpret and predict the future in scripture is somehting I needed to see.

Great Survey of People Who Believe in Christ's Return

Review Date: 2007-07-16
This is volume three of a trilogy of books surveying a company of great people. This book discusses the beliefs and faith journeys of men and women who taught and believed in the future return of Christ. I was surprised to learn that Martin Luther became much more interested in the end times as he got older.

Larsen also blames Augustine for encouraging a non-literal interpretation of Bible prophecy that teaches that all of the prophecies concerning Israel have been usurped by the church. But he goes to show how people such as Joachim, Bengel, and Spener were swimming against the tide by advocating a future reign of Christ on the earth.

Larsen also discusses classic and revised dispensational writers such as John Darby, C.I Scofield, John Walvoord, Tim Lahaye, Hal Lindsay, and others. He also gives ample space for historic premillennial theologians such as Norman Harrison and George Ladd, as well as the preterist R.C Sproul. It is an engrossing book.

The only word of criticism I have is that there are many typos and misspellings in the book. The editor did a very poor job. Hopefully, the book will be revised by a major publisher in the future.

The author presents 'no-holds-barred' truths of modern 'church' leaders and denominational/organized 'religion'. All true followers of Christ and not of 'church' should definately read and heed what is contained within the pages of the Confusion of Christendom. With no fear of the opinions of others, Adolph Connard speaks what many Christians wanted to know but were afraid to ask. Curious about truth in Christ?

I have had the amazing pleasure to meet this insightful individul, and although it took meeting this creature to be the catalyst to buying the book, it is one of my best buys! I am frugal regarding the exchange of funds (worked HARD for) for works of "art" and "imagination" and "perspective," however, this is a wonderful find of the soul and heart and mind and a really terrific book for the bathroom (do NOT take this the wrong way; the book provides contemplative, humorous, enlightening briefs; the perfect reflective journal (uh, in private- or with others(?) ) Please share!

The author also expands his horizon to theatre and light. We met him at his production of LUMA -a fantastic stage production of light and music. My family and quite a few others ejoyed! the show and its host (the author and illustrator of this book).

If the show comes to your area, go see it!! One of a kind!!

Context: Evangelical Views on the Millennium Examined
Helpful Votes: 1 out of 1 total.

Written as a textbook for Bible college students and seminarians, Context examines six views of the millennium of Revelation 20. One chapter is devoted to each of the following views: historic premillennialism, dispensational premillennialism, progressive dispensationalism, postmillennialism, amillennialism, and new covenant non-premillennialism. In each chapter Long describes and explains one of the respective positions using primary source material from the chief proponents of that view. Then Long examines the view in light of New Testament maxims which Long believes should guide the interpretation of Bible prophecy. The first five views, Long posits, disagree with one or more of these maxims. New covenant, non-premillennialism he presents as being in harmony with all of the maxims. As a textbook in eschatology, Context is clear, well-written, and well-documented. Its charts, questionnaire on prophecy, bibliography, and indices of authors and Scripture references are helpful. Those interested in eschatology, millennial movements, and interpretation of Revelation will find it useful. Professors of New Testament and systematic theology may consider it as a text for their students, and it will be a good addition to the eschatology section in seminary libraries. For, its discussion of the millennium, expanding beyond the "three views" and "four views" books to a thorough examination of six views, makes it unique. In addition, it is the first major treatment of the new covenant, non-premillennial position.

Clear insight in inextricable development of doctrine of JWs

Review Date: 2000-05-27
Crompton offers one of the best descriptions available of the development of the doctrinal system of Jehovah's Witnesses. The author has succeeded in approaching a controversial subject strictly analytical and offers deep insight on how the teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses have developed from Russell's adapted version of Millerism right into the contemporary framework where controversy is largely avoided or at least toned down. Interesting aspect is the way the author estimates the future of the Watchtower-Society (and its doctrines). When the leadership of the Society takes his view in account and applies the offered possibilities, it will remain existing deep into the 21st century.

I just finished reading this book a couple of days ago. I was enthralled with the setting. The story line is a good one and easy to follow...it takes place in the land of Urany which is ruled by the Ice Warlock's Council hands. Mayla, Nicodemus, & Adrishta have to struggle to free Urany from the enemies grip. Through their journey, there is mystery, revelation and romance. Good versus evil...and only the reader knows the outcome.
