F. J. Colberg is a professional counselor and educator. Mr. Colberg is married, has three grown children, and lives in Puerto Rico. He has written "Multitudes at the Crossroads" as a result of his deep involvement with church ministry.

Nostradamus step aside, F.J. Colberg has arrived. Powerful and believable is the way to describe "Multitudes at the Crossroads". In these 221 pages, Mr. Colberg cautions us to look to the past for answers about the future. He begins with an explanation about Cycles and their affect on modern times. How history does and will repeat itself is one of his major points.

In "Multitudes at the Crossroads" Mr. Colberg explains the Elliot Wave and how it reflects social moods. In one chapter, he discusses the Roman Empire and how those people never dreamed of world domination. The original settlers just wanted a nice place to live and prosper. Then, as time went on, that's when the problems started.
Page by page, chapter by chapter, Mr. Colberg explains in very much historical detail how the past is coming back to haunt us. He talks about our Economy and The Politics of Oil, the race among the superpowers for the oil reserves, and in-depth coverage of what is going on in these nations, Mr. Colberg makes you aware of future implications of present day actions.

In Part II of "Multitudes at the Crossroads," Mr. Colberg brings it all together. He shows how the Biblical teachings and Prophesy coincide with what is happening in today's world such as Israel becoming a souvergn country and the exodus of the Jews. He also shows how we are ruining the planet by destroying all of Nature but how the Bible gives us hope. Hope in the form of a cleansing that will bring forth earthquakes, famines and pestilence in various places. Then he goes on to tell of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse. Deceit on the white horse, War on the red, Hunger on the black one and on the pale horse rode Death. After this, it is written, there will be a new heaven, a new earth, the new Jerusalem. In the concluding pages, Mr. Colberg drives his point home with these words: A category 10 hurricane is upon us, the wind blowing from all sides and the seas confused. Your only safe harbor is Jesus Christ. Find a church; discover a whole new life in and with your creator. Or prepare for the worst, eternity awaits us all.

"Multitudes at the Crossroads" was a very direct, no nonsense look at what the Bible says and what is happening around the world. Colberg hit the nail on the head with this compelling and scary write. Yes, scary even to a believer and good Christian.
From the start I could not put it down; "Multitudes at the Crossroads" has all the excitement of the Davinci Code and the Quatrains rolled into one. I give it my highest rating of A+.

can the Menorah be found within the structure of the Bible itself?

This book turned out to be far better than I had hoped it would be. J. R. Church and Gary Stearman have long had a powerful outreach based on Biblical prophecy (...) so I was certain the scholarship would be first-rate, despite the seemingly off-beat nature of the central idea of this book.

The first half of the book is as eye-opening as anyone could ask. The idea that the Menorah could be found over and over again in the bible must've been supernaturally revealed as it seems unlikely anyone would've gone looking for it. Alas, this back story is absent from the book.

Those familiar with the authors will not be terribly surprised to find that the second half of the book deals with the Hebrew alphabet superimposed over the bible - their interest in the Hebrew alphabet and the meanings of the characters (hidden contextual meanings as related to Prophecy and plain text) is legendary.

I read this book and found myself challenged and my mind and understanding expanded. This book can go a long way in reuniting the two branches of the family of Yahweh into a reunited Israel. Do I claim to understand everything they write? No, but then, I have a lifetime in which to consider and meditate upon their insights.

What a wonderful book. The Mystical Keys to the Book of Revelation touched me very deeply. I instinctively seemed to know that what the author has written is the truth. For the parts of the Book of Revelation that I already had some knowledge of, it gave me a deeper understanding; for the parts where I was confused, it cleared the blocks. This book also reminded me (again) of the importance of working against one's own ego, as well as of practicing self-observation and meditation. This is an instrumental book for all seeking understanding and guidance as we enter into this exciting and interesting period.

Mr. Conrad's book on Nostradamus is very readable. It includes telling quotes, pictures and diagrams exposing the more than coincidental relationship between the WTC disaster and the prophecies of Nostradamus.

The meticulous style shows how carefully and accurately the author put together his information.

This book, though a quick read, presents new evidence of and stimulates thought and discussion about the famous prophecies of Nostradamus and what these words, in the form of quatrains, may have foretold about the attack against New York City. He reviews many of the other quatrains in light of historical events.

Periodically, our understanding of the prophecies of Nostradamus can be refreshed by examining current events and re-reading or re-interpreting some of the quatrains. But the method by which this has often been done, in earlier such books by different authors, can be said to lack respect for the reader's critical thinking skills. This is where Chris Conrad's approach differs, and refreshingly so. Instead of using Nostradamus's words to try to spoon-feed a preconceived point of view, Conrad shows where the prophetic dots are painted without attempting to connect them for the reader. For instance, he offers not one but several possibilities about many individual lines from quatrains, and ultimately lets the reader draw his or her own conclusions about the meaning of these lines, or in some cases, their validity. For this reason alone, this book is required reading for anyone really seeking to better understand the prophecies of Nostradamus, particularly after the September 11th attack on New York. Be prepared for a dynamic but factual discussion which will raise as many questions as it answers, rather than a tabloid sensationalist approach. Conrad does what a good professor would do: share the material, suggest possibilities, and entertain discussion. You will learn far more from this book than any other about Nostradamus's quatrains.

If only all Christians in our country understood the hidden spiritual significance behind the symbols on our Great Seal. This revealing book brings to light the over-ruling Divine Providence that was at work guiding those responsible for choosing the appropriate symbols. Mr. Capt endeavors to prove from Scripture that each symbol is linked directly to our heritage in ancient Israel and our prophetic destiny as Israel Restored. He is convinced that the completed Seal is a glorious testimony to our Covenant-keeping God and His ability to protect, preserve and bless America, and ultimately the world. After reading this book, I am encouraged that our country, founded upon the eternal Christian principles of freedom, liberty and truth, is the beginning of the Kingdom of God on earth, and in due time we will accomplish the righteous purposes for which we were destined.

Much debate has been made over the past months challenging our founding fathers true intentions to form a Christian Nation.

Discussion has arisen over our coinage and the phrase "In God we trust." These topics and an insight to our main American symbol "Our Great Seal" speaks volumes as to our nations founding Christian principles! All of these topics and more are answered by Mr. Capt in a book he first wrote twenty three years ago: Our Great Seal.
... A book that every Christian American should read, consider and discuss - the symbols of our Heritage and our Destiny.

The Great Seal of the United States of America is the symbol of our Nation's Independence. Its design constitutes our National arms. As the National arms, the Seal states symbolically the principles which animated the founders of our Republic. Today these principles are being forgotten. Because they are being neglected, America is fast losing sight of the two greatest forces that motivated our Founding Fathers - Christianity and Patriotism. From these two principles sprang our national constitutional laws, freedom of speech and worship, equality and fraternity.

Without Christianity and Patriotism, America can lose her place of leadership in the family of nations - perhaps, even her freedom. To avert that danger, we must go back to the fundamentals of true Americanism, clearly set forth in the symbolism of the Great Seal of the United States.

America has a Destiny and to fully understand this Destiny one must recognize that our nation and its amorial insignia were not evolved by chance. Our Founders planned well and wisely and were undoubtedly influenced to no small degree (whether they knew it or not) by the All-wise, overruling Divine Providence.

This book details the history of the Great Seal from its beginning, with the resolution, on July 4, 1776, for its preparation, to its final approval, by Congress, on June 20, 1782, following Charles Thomson's report. Mr. Capt calls to our attention the significance of the devices on the Seal embodied in the report:
"From Thomson's 'Remarks and Explanation' it is clear that every device on the Great Seal (obverse and reverse) is symbolic in that it represents another thing. Heraldry itself, is a language of symbolism. Government publications explain the official intent of the symbolical meanings of the various devices of the Seal, however, students of Biblical symbolism suggest that there are other mystical and esoteric meanings hidden in the design of our National Arms. . . . there is cause to believe that there is a deeply religious and supremely spiritual truth incorporated in the Great Seal. This will become more and more obvious as we proceed to elucidate the symbolism of each device of the Seal."
Much detail is devoted to each one of the devices incorporated in the Great Seal and the spiritual significance attached to them. The book also includes a glossary of heraldic terms used in the description of the Great Seal that is most helpful in understanding the many devices that make up the Seal.

A special chapter is devoted to the United states in Bible Prophecy where Mr. Capt quotes from chapters 18, 42, 43, and 49, of the book of Isaiah, prophetic passages which he believes can most definitly be attributed to the USA. Another chapter deals with America's Destiny in which he again goes to the Scriptures to express his belief that America is, indeed, found in Bible prophecy.

Not only an impressively informative book involving our Great Seal, each device and symbolic meaning but, also, an inspirational account of our heritage and destiny.

The most important Reformed work of the 20th century

Vos's The Pauline Eschatology marks a monumental advance in Pauline theology. The fruits of over 40 years of vigorous Biblical scholarship, Pauline Eschatology is the last work we have from Vos's pen; and it is undoubtedly his most substantial contribution--his magnum opus. The most important developments that Vos makes are the connection between the Apostle's soteriology (doctrine of salvation) and his eschatology (doctrine of the last things). His chapters on the Resurrection and the Eternal State are brilliant. Based on penetrating exegesis, Vos insightfully works out Paul's Christological perspective of salvation, focussing on the objective acts of the Lord's death and resurrection as they inaugurate the new creation, the age to come, and relates that to the individual's personal salvation. Vos further delves the Apostle's pneumatology (doctrine of the Spirit) and demonstrates how the Spirit functions in his central message of salvation.

The appendix, "The Eschatology of the Psalter," is truly inspiring, opening up for his readers the Psalmist's God-centered piety and God-oriented hope.

Oriented toward the more scholarly audience, Pauline Eschatology is an invaluable resource for pastors and students alike, but is not completely beyond the grasp of the interested reader. If you pick up only one book on Paul, this one should stand at the top of your list.

Of Historical Interest
Helpful Votes: 5 out of 22 total.
Review Date: 2000-07-08
Let me begin by making it clear that if you want to learn about Pauline Eschatology, this is NOT the book to read. . . . which doesn't mean that you shouldn't read it. Because it was published in 1930, it has several disadvantages. First, Vos writes in the old style - very long paragraphs and sentences. His chapters do not systematically address the issues; rather, they spiral into his view by a circuitous and often laborious route. Second, Vos is unable to interact with the recent developments in Pauline studies, especially with regard to the law, resurrection, etc. This is of course not Vos' fault, but it is something of which the reader should be aware.

This book is great if you are historically inclined and want to trace the development of inaugurated eschatology from its beginnings with Vos. But, don't stop here. Go ahead and read Ladd, Ridderbos, Cullmann, Dodd, Beasley-Murray, and Fee.

One last note: Vos' chapter on 'Chiliasm' is very unconvincing. He begins it by accusing pre-millenarians of psychological instability! Good for a laugh, anyway.

I am a devoted fan of Laurie Beth Jones. I thought I "knew" what the term "prophecy" meant, especially since her book, The Path, has had such a positive influence on my life. But this book opened my mind to the true meaning - and the impact - of prophecy. Laurie Beth Jones has such a talent for combining wisdom, humor and personal stories in all her work, and this book is the best example of that so far! I would recommend this book to anyone, but especially to parents of young children and to teachers. That said, get this book now and be prepared to stay up all night reading - that is what I did, and then spent the next morning going over it again. This book is a great companion to The Path (by Laurie Beth Jones), but certainly would be a perfect "1st choice" if you are a newcomer to her books!
