A Great Way to Understand What Everybody's Talking About

There's a lot of talk nowadays about end times, and most of the information comes out of the Bible's book of Daniel. Like any book of prophecy, Daniel can make your head spin as you try to put the pieces together. Beth Moore does a really great job of bringing understanding and depth to this hard-to-understand book. With her usual great scholarship and humor, Moore sure makes you understand why people are talking about the imminent return of Jesus. You'll either get excited or get your socks scared off, but you'll have the knowledge you need to understand how it goes. I also watched the DVD's that go with this book, and I would recommend that approach.

This is another amazing study by Beth Moore. She opens up our eyes to Biblical history in a way that makes it possible to understand, and to make sense of what scripture speaks about the future. It is imperative to understand this section of Biblical history if one is to study and understand the Book of Revelation. Beth Moore makes Biblical history interesting and fun!

We did this study with our women's group at church. The weekly DVD sessions are phenomenal and not to be missed. The daily lessons for the women to do at home were fairly short (15 to 25 minutes each day)and easy to understand. They lent themselves well to discussions when we returned as a group each week. I enjoyed the whole study and learned so much from it that I am leading the study again for a group of women who missed out on the first one!
Beth Moore is an excellent teacher and makes the book of Daniel easy to understand. The first six weeks were on Babylon and the correlations with today's society. The last six weeks were on end times prophecy. As with all prophecy interpretations there are differing views, premillenial, postmillenial, and so on. If you have a strong bent towards one side or the other you will find issues with the last six weeks of the study; as one reviewer of this book did. If you do not know much about prophecy then Mrs. Moore does a good job explaining her stance and how the last six chapters of Daniel fit.
A reveiw is just my opinion of a particular book. As such, I believe this study is worth 5 stars! Enjoy!

Beth Moore has written an EXCELLENT study/experience of the book of Daniel! For best effect, you'll want to purchase and watch her video series as you work your way through this Bible study. I read her book after completing my own book, Future History: Understanding the Book of Daniel and End Times Prophecy, and wished I had read her volume as part of my research. Beth has a clear writing style and a personal manner of connecting with women. I highly recommend this book.

Although the majority of Beth Moore's studies are very good, in the area of Daniel's prophecies, this one is woefully inadequate. Moore teaches the dispensational premillennial view, a theological system that was created in the 1800s. There is no attempt to "study" what the Scriptures say regarding the prophecies. She simply states her theology with very little biblical support and provides no balance from historical millennial positions held by the church fathers. I got the impression that she was simply regurgitating what she had read somewhere. I don't believe she even mentions historic premillennialism and it was clear from her uninformed comments regarding the amillennial and postmillennial positions that she hasn't done her homework there either.
What I found particularly upsetting was that in the second DVD lesson, Moore reads an excerpt from a 1969 sermon by Ray Stedman entitled "The Last Act" which contained so many inaccuracies about American and European history that I was embarrassed for my church showing it. (You can find this sermon on the internet if you "google" it.) Stedman tries to make the case that America and Europe are part of the fallen Roman Empire. (This is required by the dispensationalist view.) At one point Stedman claims that because German leaders are called "Kaisers," that this is evidence that the Roman Empire was the foundation for the government of Germany! I was disappointed that Moore would use this material as a part of her study.
Although the analogies Moore draws between sinful Babylon and modern-day America are very good, I found them to be overshadowed by the poor exegesis and lack of balance in the prophetic side of the study.

The rest of the reviews give beautiful summaries of this book.
I just want to add a few things. On the technical/storytelling side, Mr. Owens writes extremely well and this facilitates the excellent storyline that keeps the reader engaged.
Concerning the spiritual/Christian side of the book. This is the deepest book that I have read by a Christian author. By depth, I mean his representation of spiritual warfare is right on. Though many call this book a fantasty -- it is not fantasy but reality when it comes to the things of God.
So -- Mr. Owens, if you read these reviews. I just want to say thank you -- God is using you mightily and I am looking forward to your next book!

All the previous reviews tell you what the basic premise of this book is, a tantalizing bit of plot, that it is well-written, AND that it is an excellent first novel for author Owens. I agree with those statements.
But what is not told here is that new Christian fantasy is far and few between (his publisher put out four. Will there be more?) The Christian publishers--for years--stayed away from it and only re-published C.S. Lewis' Narnia or sent you to read Lord of the Rings and general market fantasy. A smattering here and there, but not a stronghold as a genre.
This book is well done, and if you appreciate Christian fantasy, you should be buying this. Why? 1. Because you like the genre and we all have said it's good. You'll enjoy it if you like Christian fantasy and a good story. 2. To let publishing companies know that we want more. 3. I really like it that there is a strong woman character and she meets her match in every way--definitely can appeal to women.
I hope Miles Owens is writing more of this sort of book. He'll only get better, and is already a really strong writer. More, Miles, more!

This book was an excellent first novel. I cannot believe the publisher has not picked up the trilogy! I keep checking back in the bookstores, but no second book has appeared. With the great need for engaging Christian fiction, this book stands a league above some of the other trite books that call themselves good reading! I implore Strang Communications to reconsider and publish this series.

In Miles Owens's book Daughter of Prophecy, a battle between good and evil is looming. At the center is Rhiannon, a girl who at her birth was prophesied to be the Protectoress of an Ancient covenant. At first she believes her prophecy to be literal and she trains with her brothers in sword fighting. But as the story progresses, she realizes the Eternal might have something entirely different in mind. Helping her in this process is a repentant religious leader and her foreign teacher. Meanwhile, the Mighty Ones are sending winged horrors determined to destroy her before she can fulfill the prophecy.
There are subtle christian messages throughout this book. The Eternal can use us only if we let go of all our wants and desires, and He is always standing by to help. Evil is truly evil and powerful, yet prayer can help destroy it. Owens does a good job of developing the characters and allowing them to grow in the story line. There are many characters, yet Owens makes it easy to keep track of them. Even the secondary character's actions will have an impact on the outcome of the battle.
Daughter of Prophecy is a great christian fantasy book. I look forward to reading the sequel.

I am a practicing Catholic and I was drawn to these cards to help with deeper prayer/meditation. The accompanying booklet is very helpful to get focused and 'in tune'. The tough thing for me was that deck claims to be saints and angels and Mother Teresa has been beatified but is not a saint, YET. Another point is that St. Padre Pio had the stigmata and this isn't shown in the artwork. That was a huge identifying factor for Padre Pio. These are easily researched on the internet so someone as educated as Doreen Virtue, should have learned these two little things.
That said the cards are very inspirational and positive. I don't do readings but I could see how these would greatly benefit mediums and those who want to counsel and heal through positive thought.
-1 star for research and accuracy of the saints

One afternoon, my husband and I decided to have lunch at the lovely little Green Goddess organic food cafe in Stowe, Vermont. Each table had a box of cards, and I walked over to the empty table across the room to a box of these Saints and Angels Cards.
While we waited for our food to be prepared, I had my husband randomly choose the 3-cards for his reading. I had no way of knowing what question was on his mind, but when I saw the cards that came up after he told me the question, I was stunned.
Uncannily accurate and directly connected to the question on his mind, as well as the future card was surprisingly accurate as well.
This required no stretch to make the meanings fit - they were direct answers to a direct question.
Mine was also insightful, and frankly a message I have received many times before.
I'm ordering my own set of Saints and Angels cards today!

I am a student of metaphysics and have a particular interest in Near Death Experiences and how they impact individual lives, so the experiences recounted in this book are consistent with my belief system. I see them as powerful anecdotal evidence of a higher intelligence, influencing and shaping our lives. The stories suggest that we are, in ordinary states of consciusness, only dimly aware of it's workings, but, occasionally, we are given a glimpse into the dimension from which events become manifest.
I find it deeply affirming to read about such events, so I appreciate the work these writers have done, and I hope readers will continue to share experiences where the hand of fate has touched their lives, parting the veil for a brief glimpse into something beyond.

Tingles down my back at every story told me this was an inspiring book. Fate and how it plays a part in everyone's life, both young and old, is what makes this book fascinating reading. From the nurse who stayed late to meet a special patient to the train not taken, many wonderful awe-filled stories show us we are not alone in the world, but maybe part of a bigger design. Enjoy your journey down Fate's unending road. I applaud the author's efforts and can't wait for the next in the series. Susan Schwartz, Writer & Book Reviewer
Anthology on Fate Impressive!

Do you believe in fate? Fate, "the supposed force, principle, or power that predetermines events," as defined by the dictionary, is known under many names--destiny, kismet, predestination, foreordainment, foredoom, luck, or just coincidence--and is often described by individuals around the world. Arlene Uslander and Brenda Warneka have experienced acts of fate in their lives. In The Simple Touch of Fate: How the Hand of Fate Touched our Lives Forever, they share not only their own stories but have gathered over fifty real stories by real people, in a thought-provoking anthology, that leave you with one question: if it weren't fate, how and why did these events happen?
As a lover of suspense and mysteries, I enjoy reading or hearing about events or activities that leave us wondering and questioning. I especially enjoy "little" acts that happen. For instance, was it a coincidence that one of the authors chosen for this anthology, Patricia Patteson, had also been included in an anthology, Mist on the Mon, that had sat on my bookshelf for many years, unread, but was immediately pulled and enjoyed when it was included in this book?
Or was it fate that a daily newsletter I read before I began to write this review, covered a mysterious life-saving event, but in that story, the writer attributed her story to guardian angels? Personally, I no longer question such things. In fact, based upon a book, As You Wish by Christine Massot Simpson, a resident of Canada, for whom I had the privilege to help edit and publish her book, I now use her phrase, "A God Incident" whenever I confront such events.
Let me share a little about my favorites from The Simple Touch of Fate. If you don't believe in fate, then these short stories just may force you to reconsider--is there something or someone, somewhere that controls events in our lives?
Jacob! Jacob! Reborn. The date was September 11, 2001. Jacob Herbst often traveled by plane; however, work-related activities prevented his taking a scheduled flight from Boston's Logan Airport at 8:45, American Airlines, Flight 11, to Los Angeles. How do you thank a man who could not make an important meeting, causing an unexpected delay, for saving your life?
Desert Boomerang. Two soldiers meet in Iraq; one is standing guard at a barren traffic control point and helps the other by giving him directions. Months later, the same two soldiers meet at the site of an accident on a deserted road and the favor is returned. Only this time, lives are saved! For the man just happened to be part of a medical unit...
We all Cross Paths for a Reason. A birth mother and her now-grown daughter are reunited through an automobile accident and a woman's willingness to work overtime. Just a coincidence?
Time for Life. A man and a woman, members of one family, but located in different places--both trying to catch the train--fail in their efforts due to various reasons. They missed the most disastrous train crash in the United Kingdom in 42 years.
"Honor, Courage, and Commitment": Saving Jack Roush. When a small plane is in trouble, it happens to hit near the home of an ex-marine, specifically trained "to save a pilot in an upside-down plane from a watery grave."
Grandmother Spirits. In a time of family distress, a woman prays to the spirits of grandmothers for the needs of a family. Was it a coincidence or a direct response to prayer that allowed a son just arriving in Hiroshima to be able to make a free call to his mother?
The Angel That Couldn't Fly. My favorite! A wonderful answer to why the chicken crossed the road...
Uslander and Warneka have created an excellent, well-diversified anthology that provides heart-warming, happy, life-saving and sometimes-unbelievable tales. They are presented with an interesting continuity, yet broken with small offerings of people's own definitions of fate. I found it informative, flawlessly presented to allow readers to form their own conclusions regarding these stories from "real people." For those who continuously wonder... and search... I found this a must-read!

The Simple Touch of Fate: How the Hand of Fate Touched Our Lives Forever is a collection of stories about how fate suddenly touched the lives of particular individuals. All of the stories contained in this book are real events. Many of the accounts are even written by the actual people involved in the story.
The accounts contained in this book are entertaining and inspirational. There is a little bit of something for everyone. There are how I met my spouse stories, the beginning of great friendships, and career starters. There are accounts of close calls and lottery winners. There are also stories of small coincidences that snuck up on the individual to create something miraculous.
The reader is quickly drawn into the tales of these individuals. He or she can't help but feel that his or her life could at any moment suddenly be changed forever. This book urges the reader to live life fully and also listen to his or her intuition.

The defination of fate has many meanings such as the supposed force, a principal, or power that predetermines events. The inevitable events predestined by this force. A final result or consequence; on an outcome. If anyone has read Greek and Roman mythology it reads of Fates the three Goddesses Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos, who control human destiny. It real boils down to what if. What if I took that train, what if I didn't stay late at work, what if the bus wasn't late? Arlene Uslander and Brenda Warneka have compiled a beautiful book of stories that are not only heart felt and touch home in a lot of ways, but are true also. They tell of stories of September 11th 2001 and I know anyone with any kind of emotion, felt that day. I am Canadian, remembering that day, I sat and watched as it happened with tears streaming down my face. Another story of being in the right place at the right time to lend a hand and save a life. One story of finding a biological parent years after an adoption, another on the Service men and women fighting in Iraq and how close they come to death and how brave they are still holding on with amazing faith, willpower and the love of a fellow human being. I have only touched on a few, but there are more than fifty stories in this wonderfully put togeher book that raised the little hairs on the back of my neck and touched my heart. I know it will touch the hearts of many readers. I strongly recommend this book for those who have become skeptical about life and need a reminder, and for those who do believe in fate, reading this book will only impress more deeply and enhance what you already believe. We send you much love and profound gratitude Patricia for your gifts to humanity! This is a MUST READ for all in these times of immense change. Don't be put off by the high price! Go to Patricia Cori's website for normal priced ($18 or so after shipping) copies of this book if there are none on amazon...which there NEVER are...being that it is the most damaging to the order it's quite a "coincidence" ;)
1st half of the book is excellent, practical, essential stuff. 2nd half can be challenging to grasp but is wonderful...and the feeling you get reading the 2nd half is awesome.

If you've been drawn to this title, this book will change your life. For me it was like finding answers to so many questions I'd had all my life. It is a MUST READ for anyone on an ascension path. I recommend reading Cosmos of the soul and Atlantis Rising first, to lay the groundwork, but I did not, and No More Lies blew me away. Rated very high on my Truthometer. Do not miss these books.

She seems very serious. There is a lot of gloom and doom. She says dispose of your microwaves, contact your supermarkets and express your concern, write to your media to petition your objection to subliminal advertising, and she goes on. There is a lot of information here, if true it seems pretty bad and might be good to know. But book reads a little pushy and demanding. If you did some of the things she professess after reading the book people would think you were psycho.

Having studied Biblical Prophecy for well over thirty years, and read just about every contemporary work on the subject (and many pre 20th century ones as well), it seems unlikely that anyone could (or would) have the ability and insight to rethink the well established and widely held position of traditional Biblical eschatology.
There is no shortage of available material for insight or interest of the end times. "Last days" novels and nonfiction have been a hot topic since the publication of Hal Lindsey's "Late Great Planet Earth," a book that introduced an entire generation to the veracity of Biblical prophecy.
It had been said, "If you can't understand the correlation between Biblical prophecy and the every day news by chapter eleven, you most likely never will." Hal was right back in 1970, and the New York Time recognized "Late Great" as the No. 1 non-fiction bestseller of the decade."
Biblical prophecy uniquely sets its own standard: 100% accuracy and nothing less. The evangelical community has essentially followed a similar linear summary with division in minor areas of technical detail.
David Lowe demonstrates an exceptional familiarity and facility with both historic and prophetic Scripture with meticulous attention to the significance of every detail in every sense. The compilation of accumulated examples is a remarkable and intensive effort in and of itself.
With impressive documentation and parallelism, obscure references are captured for use in comparative text and developed using the standard that pattern characterizes prediction and the future finds its definition in the past.
With the use of these comparisons and measurements, Mr. Lowe then assembles these elements and astoundingly produces a comprehensive and fascinating model, while never compromising the integrity of the text.
18 months after my first reading of "Earthquake Resurrection" it seems to be becoming apparent that prophetic events are escalating and the tenets of David Lowe's presentation increasingly realistic and logical.
"Earthquake Resurrection" has boldly provided fresh and intriguing insight and is exceptionally intriguing and compelling.
How about an audio version? It would be of such benefit for so many otherwise unable to appreciate the insights on the pages of "Earthquake Resurrection."
Thank you and great job, David!

Upside: Prophetically there were some very fresh and new insights that were well laid out scripturally. I have been studying biblical prophecy for many years...this book put some pieces in place, for example, who are the 144,000, the 24 elders, the rider on the white horse. All explanations were more insightful and more easily understood than anything I have read anywhere else.
Downside: Theology of man's salvation in the book is somewhat Arminian/Charismatic with dogmatic assumptions concerning the sovereign power of man's free will without any scriptural context. Explanation of the Olive Tree was less than edifying, implying that we Gentiles in Christ have Jewish Roots. The mystery of the Church is better understood by reading earlier authors such as William R. Newell.

At a time when the most influential books on end times prophecy are found in the fiction aisle of your local bookstore, and those books spawn a mini-industry of spinoffs, movies, and, soon, video games, it is telling that the most original thinking and writing on interpreting biblical prophecy comes from authors who are publishing independently. Whether this is because they prefer to retain control over their ideas or because they weren't able to interest Tyndale House, Zondervan, or Nelson, I don't know. I strongly suggest, however, that anyone interested in putting the theology of Left Behind to the test look up Red Moon Rising by Peter D. Goodgame, The Nephilim and the Pyramid of the Apocalypse by Patrick Heron, or--if fiction is your preference--The Facade by Dr. Michael S. Heiser.
To this list, let me add Earthquake Resurrection by David W. Lowe.
In Earthquake Resurrection, Lowe presents a thoughtful study of the timeline of the apocalypse--with a twist. Choosing to build his thesis on a new foundation rather than choosing from the traditional pre-, mid-, or post-tribulation models, or even the newer "pre-wrath" construct, Lowe offers a well-reasoned argument for what he calls a "Pre-70th Week" rapture of believers in Jesus Christ.
Lowe makes a case for the first five seals of the book of Revelation being open today and the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse already loose upon the Earth. Interestingly, he identifies the rider on the white horse not as the Antichrist, as do many students of eschatology, but as the spirit of conquering in the name of Christ; i.e., the Roman Catholic Church throughout most of the last 1,600 years (and, I would add, the streak of Dominionism or "Kingdom Now" theology that appears to have gripped modern American Christianity).
The twist Lowe presents is this: He suggests, based on the account of Jesus' resurrection preserved in the gospel of Matthew and the prophecy of the two witnesses in the Book of Revelation, that the energy released by the prophesied resurrection of millions into immortal, "glorified" bodies will be the catalyst that triggers the global cataclysm prophets said would accompany the "great and terrible Day of the Lord". Among his evidence is an interesting side trip through the history of and debate surrounding the Shroud of Turin.
Earthquake Resurrection is well organized and economically written, and Lowe presents a helpful timeline chart at the beginning of each chapter to help the reader assemble the narrative into a cohesive picture of the coming apocalypse. He doesn't try to speculate, avoiding the temptation to tie political predictions to specific prophecies. He simply lays out the evidence and draws logical conclusions.
All in all, Earthquake Resurrection is a valuable addition to the library of anyone interested in a serious study of end times prophecy.

The back cover of a new book by David Lowe says that a model for future events that could challenge the traditional interpretation of Biblical prophecy exists. Earthquake Resurrection presents this thesis by looking at "natural" catastrophe in a way not seen before in prophecy books.
But let me back up.
Doesn't it feel sometimes like catastrophe has a mind of its own, intentionally saving itself for the most inopportune time? Take for instance the other day. There I was, enjoying a little CHRISTmas time with the family, bouncing the grandbaby on my knee and heading into the new year feeling just fine, when out of the blue the manager of the conference grounds where I'd been conducting charity reconstruction over the last seven years calls to let me know that the side of the mountain [not too far from Three Sisters mountain range in Oregon where an ancient volcano is awakening] had fallen onto the property, burying some of the assets, vehicles, and a building.
So... just like that, the vacation was over, time to go back to work, raise some more money, build morale among the troops, forget the holidays.
But as I was preparing to make my way back to the camp, I received an email from author David Lowe, wanting to know if I had reviewed his book, Earthquake Resurrection. I explained to David that his title--together with a pile of others I was supposed to be reviewing--was sitting on a "review" counter back at the office and that the Jefferson County Sheriff--a BIG country boy you don't mess with, a guy we refer to around here as Robocop--wasn't letting anybody near the building, given the instability of the slope.
David understood the situation, and emailed me a PDF version of the book so that in my spare time [ha!] I could began reading it.
I agreed, but soon after, was not sure I had made the right decision. The little burp on the side of my mountain was feeling small in comparison to what Lowe was forecasting, and the earth changes along the Three Sisters volcanic range nearby was taking on a portentous feel in light of his research. My thoughts drifted to the ominous Yellowstone supervolcano system, ruptures of the New Madrid and San Andreas fault zones, Mount St. Helen's behaving erratically, Mauna Loa growling, Cumbre Vieja shaking off the coast of Africa, Mount Belinda erupting on one side of the world while simultaneously Mount Augustine was going off at the other pole, and I wondered, what's up?
David had an answer, and It troubled me. The earth is reacting to, or perhaps preparing for, the opening of the Sixth Seal of the Book of Revelation, following the first five seals, which, according to Lowe, have already opened. Thus earthquakes, such as have never been seen before, or ever will again, are about to transpire.
This is where Lowe really gets going. And I have to admit, as a twenty-five year veteran of theological review, I had never contemplated the interesting premise Lowe eventually puts forth. Frankly, I wish I had invented the hypothesis. I'm tempted to steal it anyway, to report it as my own, it's that creative.
The "Rapture of the Church," Lowe says--an advent that some people believe will mark the disappearance of a large group of Christians worldwide during a single and unexpected harpazo--will unleash global earthquake activity and related catastrophic weather events as were prophesied in the Bible. This will compliment scientific reasoning because when humans are "resurrected" or changed from mortal to immortal, the restructuring metamorphoses of the body at the atomic and subatomic level unleashes nuclear power. The explanation for such phenomenon is understood within science, whereas the biblical pattern for the theory is redundantly recorded in the scriptures during such times as the resurrection of Matthew 27:51-52, again when Christ Himself arose, and during the resurrection of the two witnesses of Revelation 11.
Other equally thought-provoking and original ideas continue throughout Lowe's excellently researched book, and the author's writing style is clever and easy to follow--a truly insightful argument that in the end possesses broad eschatological and historical significance.
Even if you disagree with Lowe's "rapture" theme, you'll find persuasive reasons to prepare for an imminent event, one that is certain to bring down much more than the side of the mountain behind my campground.

To make a long story short, I loved this book!
I've been studying Bible prophecy regarding the end times for a while, and there were always loose ends that would leave more questions than answers. I believe this author was given a word of knowledge to clearly describe what could happen at the time of the rapture of the church.

I'm in awe I think. I've never read anything like this book. And I have read other channelled books. I really can't make up my mind about it's validity. A very thought provoking book and it makes me want to read more. This is the first of the Kryon Books and I'm glad I read the THE PARABLES OF KRYON first, because it was so good I immediately ordered this first in the series. I've really got to think about this one. But I do recommend it highly. Just be ready for new material. I've already ordered the second in the series which is supposed to answer the questions raised in the first book. Wish me luck.

I did a review for the second book as well so I'll just add some different stuff here. I am very open minded (and open hearted which I think is more important) and found an underlying theme in the four books I read that did not feel right to me. You can read the material and just sense how it makes you feel. Some of the reviews make it sound like if you don't read it or if you find any issue with the material then you're a limited person. That's not the case at all! Just because something is channelled "from the other side of the veil" doesn't mean it's totally kosher. We exist on the other side of the veil too and we are all surrounded by beings all the time. It's up to us to determine what we want to integrate into this lifetime and what we don't. Trust your intuition with any material you read or listen to, your higher self knows what's what.

The End is the Beginning. A new way of looking at the world and an explaination for so many mysterious sayings that no one seems to have an answer for. But Kryon does from a whole different perspective. I read and was amazed. If your ready for something new try this one. It's a great read.

I found this book phenomenal - an absolute must to anyone wishing to learn and understand God's word. It will help lay a solid foundation of understanding on which the rest of God's word and God's plan will sit.
This book will answer every question you have concerning the sequence of (and details of) yet-future prophetic events and God's future plan for mankind. The author with ease, points out God's teachings straight from the bible and inserts nearly all scripture text being discussed. He uses the King James bible translation so if you prefer NIV or NASB (etc.) be prepared to open your own bible while reading this book. This book is captivating, intriguing and amazing. This book also has some amazing content within its Appendix. This book is a must to anyone wishing to understand God's word.

A comprehensive study of Eschatology, that is as about as good as it gets. The exceptionally in-depth study of not only the scriptures, but how to study the scriptures, is a must for any serious follower of Yahushua (Yeshua) Hammashiach. Dr. Fruchtenbaum's grasp on the material, truly seems inspired, and I believe will allow most readers to get a firm grasp on "end-time" prophecies as well as help them receive the peace and hope that these prophecies are meant to provide. There is an accompanying study guide now available at Dr. Fruchtenbaum's website at [...], that makes for a marvelous Sunday School or Bible Study course on Eschatology.

Arnold Fruchtenbaum is one of the best scholars of Judeo-Christian Scripture I've found. His books should be among the foundational works for evangelical Christian thinking. Jewish readers would also gain insights into Christianity and historic Judaism by reading his works.

This is a WONDERFUL verse by verse explanation of the Book of Revelation! Most people don't realize what a truly Jewish book the book of Revelation is, it is only hard to understand IF you don't understand the OT. Dr. Fruchtenbaum is a Messianic Jew and the BEST teacher to explain the Scriptures from a Jewish perspective. What other perspective SHOULD there be? Jesus was a Jew, lived and taught the Jews, etc. So a Jewish perspective to one's Bible study is imperative if one is to understand the Bible - and ESPECIALLY Revelation.
Footsteps of the Messiah makes Revelation and end times Scripture clear and understandable in every day language. Dr. Fruchtenbaum thinks of everything.........so he included in the back of the book a Scripture Index, so you can look up ANY other Scripture and go directly to the page on which he talks about it!!!!

This book was the basis of a class in prophecy. There is much to be learned from Graham Cooke. It's a book to enjoy as a part of quiet times with an open Bible and a notebook.

Mr. Cooke does an excellent job of authenicating the prophetic gifting and ministry for the contemporary church. He gives comprehensive insight into the relevancy of the gift for today, and takes an in depth look at ways this gift should be utilized within the five fold ministry. This book is a "must have" for any church that is serious about fulfilling it's commission with a scriptually sound strategy for success. It also gives invaluable direction and insight to those wishing to understand and develop their personal prophetic gifting.

This book is an excellent addition to anyone's library who is interested in the prophetic voice today. Not only does Graham give a solid biblical background, but he addresses some of the problems with the prophetic in the church today. Whether you are a beginner, or a pastor looking for some help in releasing and living with this gift in your church, this book is for you. One of the most balanced, well written books on this that I've read.

My hunch, considering that everyone else has given this book 5 stars, that I'm the only non-Charismatic reading this book.
Let me start with where I'm coming from. I have spent most of my Christian life in churches that feel prophecy, tongues, etc. have all ceased. However, I am not as convinced. Thus, I am open to prophesy existing, but I find short-comings that need to be developed.
First, author Cooke is not above interpreting (or is it mis-interpreting) Scripture and other views to his advantage. Almost immediately, he makes a passage about Moses' appointing judges to mean something the text does not support, basically the role of writing down his prophecies. Later in the same chapter, Cooke claims some who say prophecy does not exist as a modern-day spiritual gift treat miracles and healings like they do. That is incorrect. Those people believe the GIFTS of healings and miracles have ceased as well as tongues and prophecy, but that God is Himself the one who heals and does miracles.
Second, for a book that claims to be Biblical, there is not much Biblical about it. This book is focused more on the author's experience than on what Scripture says. Preparation for prophecy, for example, includes prayer, meditation, waiting on God, and speaking in tongues. Is meditation dealing with meditating on Scripture? No. Thus, Bible Study is not one of the pre-requisites, but shouldn't it? Shouldn't one have a firm handle on what Scripture says before giving new revelation?
Third, in giving ways to check if it is of God, it forgets (or quite possibly ignores) the qualification in Deuteronomy 18, that the true prophet will have a 100% success record. He tries to distinguish between false prophecy (deception) and poor prophecy (inaccurate), and then even goes further to say more are deceived by false teaching than false prophecy.
There needs to be a book dealing with what the role of the prophet really is and how that can be filled even in a setting that does not believe the gift still exists. Unfortunately, this is not the book.

This book was required reading for our ministry teams at church. It should be required reading for anyone in the prophetic ministry today. My pastor affectionately calls this book, "The Cooke Book" for the prophetic. Truly, it serves up the right recipe for understanding and using the prophetic gifts in body ministry. I had to grow another brain to remember everything Cooke says in this manual. But, it was worth it!
The text is comprehensive and thorough in laying a biblical foundation regarding prophecy and its use in the church (although I hear rumor that it is to become a 6 volume set!). Cooke writes from the heart and packs his message with warmth, wisdom and practical insight gained from years of prophetic ministry experience. We should all listen well.
Graham hammers home the need for a framework of accountability in leadership, stating that leadership without accountability is unbiblical. He focuses on character, relationships and partnerships in the Body as much as the practice and role of the prophet. How refreshing! Of particular value is his loving treatment of how to handle "wrong" prophecy and discerning the difference between false prophecy and poor prophecy.
This is a must read for anyone with a desire to function in prophecy in a way that truly edifies and builds up the church.

This is not your typical NDE story. The beginning of the story follows the typical NDE experiences and insights, but as the book develops, we are told that our world is trillions of years old, humans are descendants of space aliens who artifically inseminated monkeys or gorillas, , and .... best left for the reader.
I wonder whether Moshe Zwang, has gone a little too far? and perhaps his imagination has controlled and overpowered his actual experiences.
Good read, many insights, and keeps me wondering.

What would be the criteria for rating this book is not what is written in it but how ready are you for it ..... It is simply a step in the explanation of all . To some it might be perceived as pure fiction, to some it would be ridiculous, to others simply the truth. The truth sometimes stares us in the face, but we still fail to realize it simply because we are too fixated on the values and ideas that had been imprinted in ou minds (or our ancesstors minds) for the last thousands of years. but we have mentally evolved we now realize that the earth is not the centre of the universe, that the our plant is one amongst trillions of planets and not the only one ..... but we still fail to even question ideas and beleifs that were passed to us over hundereds of years cause of fear ..... fear of hell fear of being rates as superstituous , or any other fear ........ All I can say is that to the investigating individual, to the open minded student of the truth this is , the least to say, a revelation and enlightment that is a corner stone for more understanding for the human race. One complaint to the writer, or dictator, of this book .... it is simply not fair to keep the remiander of this with you ... it is your duty to give the whole truth so those who are ready can benefit from it .... five years is a long time.
