This book is so unbelievably captivating! It pulls you into this world where nothing is as it seems and good and evil collide perfectly. I don't read books. Even in high school if I had a report to do I would try to find the movie. There are very few books I have ever completely read. I happen to know Nathan so I wanted to get his book just to say I had my friends work. I started reading it, never expecting to finish it because books don't hold my attention (sorry, Nate). I can not put it down. I am on chapter 23 and I already can't wait to read the next one. This is the best book I have ever read. It is practically the only book I have ever read. The very fact that it has held my attention is proof that it is an awesome book! Great job, Nathan! We are eagerly awaiting book two!

Everything outside of normal life.

I came across this book just brousing and I am up to chapter 5 and loving it, it really pulls you into the story and the story so far seems very full, my schedules rough but when I do get a break to read a chapter or two right away I am there, Nathan your writing ability to tell a great story is wonderful and I am looking forward to reading book two, I am not going to talk about the story because if you really enjoy books on the other side that are really really good you have to pick this one up and dive into it, you wont be sorry. Thank you Mr. Parks....

I'm amazed that this book hasn't been discovered by more people.

It is clear that the author's view on valuing employees passes the real-world test because, unlike the many management consultants and academicians who have written primarily theoretical works, Melohn actually delivered outstanding business performance through the implementation of his approach.

If you're only going to read one book on this topic, you've just found it.

The author has a rare view of himself in corporate America. He sees himself as a servant to the people and works on drawing out the best in them. I loved the book because it is proof the managing and directing a force of people through values works! Perhaps the best aspect of the book is that he gives practical steps to incorporate these steps in a organization. However he makes it clear that unless the leaders of a organization embrace these values the efforts of others really wont' matter. He calls leaders to the carpet. You can't expect things (values, work ethic etc) from others until you do it yourself and model it consistently. Personally I have never worked for someone like Tom, however I would love the chance to.

The New Precious Metals Market: How the Changes in Fundamentals Are Creating Extraordinary Profit Opportunities

An excellent and timely analysis of precious metals.

THE NEW PRECIOUS METALS MARKET provides the most comprehensive and up to date analysis of precious metals currently available. This is a no-nonsense and objective review of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium as investments, trading vehicles, inflation hedges, and plain old commodities. Philip Gotthelf does not provide the typical sugar coated view that "nothing is as good as gold." Instead, he details realities facing precious metals which include digital photography's impact upon silver, new gold extraction technology, technical cycles, and even stock investing.

This book avoids complexity and gets down to business. Why should you consider precious metals in your portfolio? The answer in the book is a surprise to many. Philip Gotthelf does not take the traditional line that these metals are good investments. Instead, he gives pragmatic reasons why investors should avoid accumulating hard inventories in the "new economic environment." He covers metals as monetary instruments. He touches upon scandals like Bre-X and how investors can avoid getting caught.

The book is full of charts and illustrations that are clear and easy to understand. In a time when economic uncertainty is at a peak, this book is essential for anyone considering gold, silver or the other metals as investments.

Great for the professional but a 'must' for the novice.

Wanting to diversify my portfolio I figured I needed this book. Oh, how right I was. This book gives the reader a thorough understanding of the fundamentals of precious metals which in itself would be well worth the price paid but it also provides great psychological insights into why precious metals gain and loss their luster during times of tumultuous markets. The author has an easy to understand and witty style that makes it a pleasant research vehicle. Good luck to all, Todd

Miller is an exceptionally blunt, honest, straight-forward writer. I like that in a writer from whom I am seeking business advice. Fanciful stuff is great in science fiction, but this is the real world, the harsh, unforgiving world of business today. I need to be able to trust the writer to relate facts, not fiction, and to do so in a way I can easily understand and quickly apply to my own business plans. I highly recommend this book, and this writer. You can rely on the information to help you move your business forward.

Any fan of Slashdot knows that the site has never embraced the kind of silliness that led some people to fool investors into believing that the road to riches was in selling cheese graters on-line at cheese-graters.com. Part of this reason is Robin Miller, one of the steadiest hands on the tiller. This guy used to drive a limo and that taught him how to manage a real business. Now, he's written down all of the secrets that has kept Slashdot from following cheese-grater.com into Chapter 11.

This is really a practical book that contains none of the new economy mumbo jumbo. Keep your costs low, says Miller, and he suggests a number of ways to use free or very low cost software to accomplish that. If you want to dream of infinite growth, endless revolutions, or shattering paradigms, look somewhere else. It's all about balancing the books and keeping costs in line with revenue.

A REAL WORLD GUIDE TO PARTNERSHIPS
Helpful Votes: 2 out of 4 total.
Review Date: 2001-06-21
Complex topics such as partnerships tend to be covered in a very fragmented manner. Partners.com does not have this problem. Cunningham ably deals with the people, process, technology and market issues that forge partnerships, but also how to manage, measure and change them. Rarely are these areas covered in sufficient detail, but here there is a roadmap with milestones and strategies that are working in the marketplace. Partners.com does for partnerships what Patti Seybold's Customers.com did for customer relationships. A classic!

This book is a prize! For those that are looking for the details behind partnerships the information here is not only relevant, but very comprehensive. The mixture of technology, strategy and culture required to pull of good partnerships is difficult for organizations trying to make it happen. Cunningham provides not only a great roadmap, but illustrated with real world examples of what has and has not worked. Do not be fooled by the .com in the title, this book is targeted at all businesses. I particularly liked the sections on self-service Partnerships and the "most important partners, your staff". A practical piece with great strategic insight. Organizations will be able to use this to hone their competitiveness, internal and external consultants will buy to emulate all that has been learned on this topic.

The System That Changed My Career & Life

Review Date: 2006-06-03
I had the priveledge of meeting Brian Rogers in January of this year when I read an early copy of his amazing book. Once I started, I just could not put it down - it was an amazing experience for me as Brian so skillfully connected the dots.

His system does not require you to buy anything extra - he shows you how to skillfully integrate the technologic tools that you should already be using in your Real Estate business. If you don't have it - he tells you wehere to get it. No problem!

With everything that I have read during my sales/real estate career - this is truly only one of two books that have instantly transformed the way I do business. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of other good books out there on Real Estate sales by some great authors - but lets face it - they all have a few "ah-ha" moments and the rest is just recycled ca-ca. Not Here - Brian Rogers really gets it!

If you are in south West Riverside County - DO NOT READ THIS BOOK! (I just hate sharing my secrets with my competition)

Very few trading text have intelligent instruction on Elliott wave, fib price target projections, Indicators analysis, Tradestation programming, trading band methodology, trading plans, and trading systems all in one text. There is something there for all discipline levels and has much of what is needed in any real trading system except the customized methods each individual trader feels comfortable with. The author was very gracious with valid information, and this is a valuable reference book.

While most books on computerized trading systems were written by technical analysts and programmers, very few were written by a real-time disciplined trader. Robert T.H. Lee is all-in-one. Not only the book is well written and illustrated, the Glossary is well prepared and the Bibliography shows that the author is well read and a true expert in the financial field.

Ms. Bancel does an amazing job of leading the novice -- or even the not-so-novice -- fundraiser through a step-by-step process of preparing for that daunting event that every successful non-profit must eventually face: the capital campaign. Few books of this type are as pragmatic, and none have the carefully crafted, detailed "how-to" advice that Ms. Bancel provides...
