Pig Books

This is a great way to explain the concept of equality to young children. It is entertaining and informative. It should be part of the library in all K-3 classes.

I read this book as a child and loved it then. When I picked it up again to read it, I enjoyed it just the same! The story line is great, adn the illustrations are wonderful.

I absolutely loved this book. The illustrations were colorful. The holes that the pigs slowly disappear from were adorable. It's just a cute little story of the "This Little Piggy".

A pig, who thinks of himself as a chicken because of his fears, finds that he is actually quite brave. His car breaks down halloween night so he enters a nearby castle, only to be subjected to an evil doctor who transforms him into a giant pig. When the doctor finds he actually has no control over the pigs mind he kicks him out of his castle. The pig finds a couple to him, and eventually the evil doctor is discovered and returned to the insane asylum. The pigs bravery helps both himself, and the others that were transformed by the experiments of Doctor Vermin. This book has a lot of words, with lots of pictures as well. My 6 year old daughter is not yet interested in chapter books because there are no pictures, but loves books like these.

Great pictures, and interesting tid bits about a wide range of aircraft through out history.

My mom gave me this book for my 3 year old twins and they (and I) fell in love with it. As someone who worries and worries in the middle of the night (as a lot of moms do when they are rested and it is quite for once in the house) this book helps you take a light hearted look at yourself. I really love it, even more than the celebrated Felix Feels Better and the Max books. I would love to see more adventures with Felix!

This is a good, standard guide. It has plenty of pictures, but it isn't that much more than a guide. It is a good idea to purchase anyway, if you own a ferret.

First of all, let me say what a big help this was to me. It pratically has sections on everything you need to know about ferrets; getting your house ferret-proof, how to bathe them, how to tell if they have an illness, and much more. This book is great for ferret owners and soon-to-be ferret owners. It is a must-have, and I highly recommend you buy it. Trust me, this is bool very helpful.

This book is a good book for someone new to rabbits. It doesn't go much into care of rabbits, it is, as the name suggests, mostly a guide to identifying colors and breeds. It is well written and easy to understand, the photos are clear and the rabbits are good representatives of their breeds.

"The Field Guide to Rabbits" is by no means a comprehensive book on rabbits - what it does do well is profiling the various breeds with full-color pictures that are representative of each breed. The book is divided into chapters that deal with "Bunny Basics", i.e. fur varieties, shapes and sizes, a chapter that focuses on coloring, bunny behavior which is deficient in my opinion as it is not comprehensive, and tips for professionally showing bunnies, as well as a comprehensive chapter on breed profiles.

If you're a beginner rabbit owner who is looking for tips on how to handle and care for your bunny, you are better off looking up resources on the internet or other guides. But, if you'd like to see all the different breeds of bunnies then this is quite a nice guide with color pictures of various breeds, displayed in all their furry cuteness!

While this is a fictional account of Sue, the story gives children a broad look at what's involved in putting together a dinosaur for a museum display. From the dig, to carefully cleaning the bones, and putting them together on display at the museum - all from a mouse's eyes. This is a delightful children's book for all ages!
