If you like Craftsman style homes or even Post and Beam homes this is a fabulous book. I have never regretted buying it. Ever time I open it I see some thing I missed before and a new idea comes alive. I am glad I bought the soft cover.

The ultimate Greene & Greene book

If you want one lush, visually opulant but also well-researched book on the Greene brothers and their unique accomplishments in the arts & crafts style, and money is no object, this is the one to get. If it IS an object, Makinson's earlier, smaller paperback, Greene and Greene: Architecture As A Fine Art, will do nicely as a overview of their residential architecture career, but be warned----eventually you'll probably want color photographs. If you've ever visited one of their remaining houses that are open to the public, you know that the color tonalities of the rooms are a considerable part of their charm, and you've probably already bought this book. If you havn't, don't wait 'til it goes out of print. This is THE Greene and Greene book, coffee table or otherwise.

Comprehensive & Beautiful

These are among the most beautiful architectural photographs ever produced. Most of these houses are difficult to see and quite difficult to capture in such vivid detail that it must have taken years to assemble such a portfolio. The writing parallels the images. The Blacker House in particular is so opulent and complex that it needs a monograph of its own. One only wishes this book were twice as long with even larger photos and lots more information! Thanks for taking the time to do this right.

The ultimate & authoritative book on Greene & Greene

I have been collecting articles and books on Greene and Greene for over thirty years and this book tops them all as an authoritative overview by the man who opened our eyes to a national treasure. What a treat for anyone who appreciates Greene & Greene architecture or who enjoys well organized, readable and lushly photographed architectural books. I purchased the book on October 17th at the Blacker House and can give eye witness testimony that these photographs do justice to the Greene and Greene masterworks.

The Last Word on the Greene and Greene Architectural Wonders

Though author Randell Makinson has written several superb books about the art and architecture of the brothers Greene, and each of his other books is a definitive work on particular aspects of the historical importance of, say, the Blacker House, this book is the finest of them all. Not only is Makinson the final authority and historian for the Greene brothers, he has lived in their creations, supervised restorations, researched every document and drawing extant, and crowns this plethora of knowledge by his immensely fine writing style.

There is nothing didactic about GREENE & GREENE: THE PASSION AND THE LEGACY. Here Makinson treats the reader to the less publicized facts and impressions of two brothers who forever altered the concept of the private home in California. It is this emphasis on the personalities and the private innuendoes, the matters less public that marked their careers, and the end product of their visions that Makinson elects to share. The information is valuable and more: the spirit of the brothers Greene is very much a part of this homage to two important artists.

Gratefully Makinson has elected to include superb photographs that highlight his narrative. The photographs are both contemporary and historical and provide almost as many visual insights as Makinson provides verbal ones. This is THE book for lovers of art and architecture combined as only a few other architects have attempted. Highly recommended. Grady Harp, December 05

This is a sexy, passionate story with enjoyable characters - I give it five stars and think you'll want to read it again despite the fact that the hero is a bit of a jerk at the beginning - he does finally come to his senses! Marcus Osborne has some issues with women ... his mother abandoned him, his beloved wife turned out to be a money hungry trollop, a fact which he unfortunately only discovered when he found her in their bed with the pool boy! So when he meets sexy socialite Justine, who flirts with all the men, he paints her with the same brush. But there's something honest and sincere about Justine that keeps shining through his preconceptions ... and soon he's wondering if perhaps he may have misjudged her and that she wasn't just a gold-digger trying to snag herself a rich husband. He's stunned to realize he loves her, and because of how they began their relationship he thinks she only wants him for the fabulous sex! What can Marcus do now? Can he make her fall in love with him so they can be together forever ... ?

Description from the book back cover:

Bad, brazen ... and beautiful! Marcus Osborne thought Justine Montgomery had shown her true colours when she sashayed into his office, seemingly willing to do 'anything' for a loan. The rumor that she was planning to catch herself a rich husband, and that he was her prime target, only served to worsen his opinion of her. Nevertheless, he wanted her ... So he decided to do some seducing of his own - and soon she became his mistress! Only then did Marcus understand how wrong he'd been about Justine. She wasn't a gold-digger after all, and marriage, for money or otherwise, hadn't even crossed her mind. Suddenly Marcus found himself wishing it had ...

The Millionaire's Mistress is my first Harlequin PRESENTS read. As most often, the cover does not depict the story. The main character, Justine, a University student living in Sydney, Australia is 23 years old. She oozes of beauty and self-respect. Justine is surprisingly innocent after being raised in a life of luxury. But, circumstances change. She lives with her mother, Adelaide, and in order to keep their family home Justine decides to open their home to boarders. When she goes to the bank to secure a loan to start up this new business venture she meets millionaire banker, Marcus Osborne who is in his thirties. He has been "around the block" a few times in life. He is a bitter divorcee of the "stuffed shirt" variety. How these 2 people from different parts of the planet even begin a romance is worth the read. I recommend my very first Harlequin Presents!

Back Cover - Justine Montgomery desperately needed a loan, otherwise she and her mom would be out on the street. So she steeled herself to ask handsome millionaire banker Marcus Osborne for help. Marcus had no illusions about the Justines of this world. He could tell just by looking at her that she was a gold digger, out to target a rich husband. Just like his ex-wife.....but Marcus was also glad when Justine told him she'd do anything if he'd lend her money, because he desired her - badly. He'd give her the finances she wanted, and she'd repay him in bed!

Talk about your untrusting jerks.....this one makes a real turnaround as he figures out that Justine is as sweet and trustworthy as she looks and acts. Great read. Very passionate.

I have been a fan of Miranda Lee's for the past 2 years. I have collected as much of her work as I can. She writes beautifully. Her characters are smart, intense, complex and very sensual. She writes about things that are very real in the world today. I love her style of writing. Don't let the synopsis on the back of the book fool you this is not a story of a man that takes advantage of a young women caught in a vunerable position. This is a story of to adults that overcome many obstacles to find true love. The characters are smart and they respect each other, as the author always respects the reader.

Do you have a NEED to garden, an instinct that simply can't be denied? Do you gain a joy, a tranquility from gardening? And do you long to know of others who share this need and love?
Finally, do you love Ken Druse's other wonderful, wildly beautiful books on same?
"The Passion For Gardening" combines all in a typically (for Druse) gorgeous volume, plus it introduces others for whom gardening is not simply a matter of "plant material" being "installed" by some local garden center. You meet people for whom gardening, in all its aspects(from the Giverney-like selection and placement of the plants to the mundane and often satisfying acts of weeding and soil improvement) is almost a genetic imperative. You meet others for whom gardening is the thing that makes all right with the world.
Even in the dead of Winter, this book is better than three therapy groups or five bottles of pills. It is one you will hold onto till the pages are tattered. It is what that urge to garden is all about.

This book is about people who find gardening as essential as breathing. A passion, for sure, perhaps even fanatical. I know a lot of gardeners who fit into this category and I wouldn't hesitate to include myself as well. Druse's books are always a treat and this one is no exception. He writes about his own garden in New Jersey and how he has developed it since 1995 and his future plans for it. He also profiles ten other gardeners and the spectacular gardens that they have created. Most of these gardens are filled with native plants, trees and shrubs and tropical plants (you won't any flower gardens here). They are all beautiful and the photographs are spectacular, the book is truly a visual feast. He also includes sections with practical advice on transplanting, incorporating water into the garden and garden photography. Perfect for the winter gardener needing their creative juices fired back up before next spring.

Ken Druse is an amazingly gifted writer, photographer and gardener. I would not know what title to give him first. Passion is indeed a word that fits all these talents. In a world were all kinds of technical information is easy to be had, Ken Druse's book goes beyond the world of coffee tables and how to's. This book imbodies what is our gut instincts & passions, It is about responding to our intuition and letting loose with the child within.

The photographs in Druse's books are lessons on their own. I am always tempted to create some new tapestry after looking at them. The photo esay at the end of the book that depicts his own garden through the seasons and the swirling motion of a rain induced flood are my favorite. It is usually from memory that we see our gardens in the clothes of a former season. These images are not only beautifully composed but are great lessons from a seasoned gardener.

I read many a garden book, my sagging bookcases speak to that.Ken's are ones that I often and joyfully return to.

I enjoyed this book more than any "plant" book I have read in years. It is so well written and accompanied with beautiful pictures, I know that I will enjoy revisiting the book many times as I plan my new garden. No matter your garden style, there is something to be found within these pages that will inspire you.

Jim Lewis is certainly a master of description, a scratcher of psychology and a writer who digs hard at the turf of extraordinary people trying to mundane down their lives. The characters of Walter Selby and his son Frank are deeply connected (as is their pre history), yet they are not even known to each other. This is a story of one's inability to escape their heritage or genetics, even though much credit goes into reinventing themselves. In the skilled writing of Jim Lewis, we see a kiss of Wendell Berry and Robert Penn Warren; simply a tradition of the best. Mr. Lewis will make you see the world in a slightly different manner and will impress upon you the need to think, search and reflect right along with his characters. I plan to read his other books and feel graced that I'm able to enter the world of this author's writings.

This is a difficult book to recommend because as much as I loved it I wouldn't argue with someone who didn't, they'd probably have some valid points. Halfway through I threw it in the trash and woke up a few nights later to dig it out and read at three am. My copy is still stained and smells. Not a perfect book if perfection means universal appeal but if you think quantity has displaced quality both in number of books published and number of pages in each book this is the one for you. Jim Lewis is the best author alive in my opinion and has two things most don't - a real gift and the ability to be concise. Anyone can convey a miserable and interminable experience by creating one for the reader but a precious few can do it, or anything else, in one sentence. If 'I know this much is true' was half as long, twice as good, and a little more brutal it would be 'The King is Dead' on its best day. I agree completely with the reviewer who said Jim Lewis makes him reluctant to write by showing what the best are capable of. Robert Penn Warren, John Steinbeck and Annie Proulx come together in this brilliant author. If you like it read 'why the tree loves the axe' if you can find it.

I wish I'd never read this book so I could go on thinking that I could write a decent novel without "The King is Dead" hanging over my head like the law. This is the best novel I've read in a good while.

Pam does a great job of mixing examples of people changing their life to ways to change your own.
The key to Living a full and meaningful life is leaving the box we have been told to stay in.
Most of us stay in our box for life, just because we are afraid of what They say and Think. The problem is They don't Think, so why should we care.
Take some of Pam's advice and break FREE and LIVE FREE. It is the only life and chance you have.

One of the most inspiring books I have ever read!!

Pam Grout's repeating quote is, "Is this all there is?" I know of many people who ask that same question, and go right back to watching TV. (I am also guilty of this.)

Some of the chapter titles are: "Thinking Big, Giving Big, Blessing Big, Imagining Big..." The list goes on and on. There are examples in each chapter of people who have done just that. People like you and me, people with money, or without it, people that come from hard times. People who have jumped over BIG hurdles just to help other people.

We have to learn to give and receive love, without wondering what they "want from us." Stop being so suspicious. One little thing does make a difference. Maybe not to the world, but to yourself, or someone else. Last week, there was a guy that worked at a radio station who was staying in this little tarp-covered contraption 30 feet above the ground until he received 2000 toys to donate to Toys for Tots or until 100 or so hours had passed. When I came to donate, he said, "It feels warm in there." I just had read some of the book that day, and when I made cookies for my school's workroom, I put some aside and delivered some warm cookies to him. When the security guard called him over, he had this little smirk on his face, like I was some kind of secret admirer, or stalker. That part bothered me. It's like no one can do something nice, just to be nice!! So anyway, I don't know what happened after that or what, but just one thing we do for someone else.. well.. doesn't that make us (and them) feel good?

She talks about a woman who stayed in a redwood tree and lived there two years so they wouldn't be cut down, a man who paints huge murals on every wall he can find, a woman who adopted 28 children (not Mia Farrow) and 27 of them have special needs. These are people that we don't know about, because we worship celebrities in movies or on TV. People that are famous just because their faces are bodies are familiar or beautiful to us. I am just as guilty and can be "star-struck" at times. We need to remind ourselves that what we give is what matters, not what we get. We learned this when we were little around the time of exchanging Christmas presents.

Pam Grout mentions that "last year, we spent 40 billion dollars on weight loss products, 98 percent of which did absolutely no good. With that 40 billion, we could give a million dollars a day to a worthwhile cause for the next 85 years. Maybe instead of looking for the next big diet, we should ask: What is the one thing that makes me want to get up on the table and dance? What do I ache for? How can I inject surprise, fun, and outrageousness into this day?" Losing weight gives you a temporary feeling of happiness, but it doesn't last, cause it's not as important as many other things in the world. SUV's, big houses, and lots of money is also NOT AS IMPORTANT. I think we need to be reminded daily of that. Our children, other people, humanity, those things are important, but we spent "10 minutes a day talking to our kids."

This book is wonderful. Everyone should read it, then it wouldn't just be "one person making a difference." It would be everyone working at it. I want to live big. Don't you?

Changed my life for the better.

This book changed my life . I gave it away and now I am buying another copy.
I remember the day I bought it. I was feeling down and depressed. We had money problems, work difficulties, family scabbles, you name it everything was going wrong. Even the dog was givng us a hard time.
Well anyway I read this book in just a couple days and it WOKE me back up. You see I used to be a wild and crazy guy but then I became "civilized". I had gone to sleep in life without realizing it. This book helped me by pointing this out. It happens to a lot of people. Grow up get a job, get a family, get responsibilities and forget that life is supposed to be fun.
This book brought fun back into my life. My family and coworkers have thought I have gone over the edge. I just tell them that I'm back to "normal." For the most part I am "living" again. I can't wait to get my new copy. Thanks.

This book is beautifully printed and bound and built to last a lifetime's pilgrimage in the faith: heavy cream paper with full gilt edging, black and red type, leatherette binding, and two ribbon markers, all inside a sturdy matching boxcover.

Its handsome exterior compliments the beauty of its substance--classic prayers that possess noble simplicity and quiet grandeur. Most of the prayers are given in Latin as well as English, and there are also some prayers in Spanish, French, German, and Italian.

Compiled for the priests of the North American College in Rome, the prestigious seminary for outstanding American clerics, it is just as valuable for the laity.

Its 400+ pages, fully indexed, hold these Contents:

Liturgical prayers; Prayers in Italian; Prayers in Spanish; Prayers before Mass; Prayers at Holy Communion; Prayers after Mass; The Sacrament of Penance; Morning Prayers; Prayers at Meditation or Study; Evening Prayers; Litanies; Devotional Prayers; Prayes to the Blessed Virgin Mary; Prayers to Saint Joseph; Occasional Prayers; Prayers for Various Persons; Prayers for Various Needs; Prayers of Various Saints; Various Novena Prayers; Selected Chants.

Every classic prayer of English-speaking Catholics is included, but there is a wealth of lesser-known prayers, especially those penned by the saints (both famous and obscure).

In form and content, this is the finest Catholic prayerbook available. In it, the mind of the Church reveals itself fully, while the Church's heart pulses in adoration, contrition, thanksgiving, and supplication.

The Manual of Prayers in burgundy leather is a beautiful collection of prayers written in modern English. While written for seminarians, it provides the lay person with the opportunity to connect on a very spiritual level with God through a variety of prayers for most every occasion. The snap cover is a plus, allowing one to use prayer cards to mark special prayer locations without worrying about them falling out or being disrupted if one accidentally drops the book while carrying it. A fine choice for anyone wanting to get closer to God.

This book claims it is written for people who have problems in relationships, but it is a book for ALL relationships boyfriend, mother, father, sister and friends. This book will help you with all your relationships. It is not an easy read, but it is a page-turner. During my reading of this book, there were paragraphs so powerful, I had to close the book just to reflect on the paragraph before I moved on.

This book is a guide, it is not a 100% solution or answer to your problems. It merely shines a light on the cobwebs in your mind. You will really have to let it guide you as you search within yourself to find your answers for why you are the way you are in a relationship. It is really somewhat interactive, in that it asks you to ask yourself some pretty tough questions. It is thought provoking. It will turn the way you think about relationships upside down. Many issues, I thought I was entitled to, basically painted a grim future....

I am pretty certain, or maybe naïve, that this book has saved me from many future bad relationships, has helped me understand my past relationships with boyfriends, friends and most importantly, family. Thank god, because I ALMOST lost the love of my life, until (as cheesy as this sounds) I read this book.

Mapping the Terrain is a wonderful resource for individuals who have difficulty staying in a relationship. It looks at the six capacities of loving; erotic involvement, merging, idealization, integration, refinding, and self-transcendence. This book will help you to identify the barriers to maintaining a relationship, why this happens, and what you can do about it. A great resource for individuals who fall in love but struggle to stay in love.

This is actually a reprint of Mapping the Terrain of the Heart; The Six Capacities That Guide the Journey of Love" (Item # 0201608650). Goldbart and Wallin are the authors of the original work, not editors of an anthology. This is the best description I've ever seen of the tasks to be worked on by couples in a committed relationship. Honeymoons will go sour for reasons embeded in the forming of the relationship. It is wise to know what's ahead, so you can plan for it. At least you will not be surprised by what unfolds. The basis for my opinion is extensive reading in the field and more personal experience than there is room for me to describe. The book is well written but terse; it is not an easy read.

In my personal quest to find romantic intimacy I have read dozens of books. This is simply the most profound, dead-on, flat-out brilliant book I have ever come across. "Mapping The Terrain of the Heart" will help you clarify if your ideals of romantic love are realistic or simply serving as a defense against finding intimacy. It will help you to understand your style of relating - whether you are a "merger hungry" or "merger wary." It will help you understand how you find "chemistry" with some people while others leave you cold. It will help you to understand why what excites you is healthy and how not to simply "find" the right relationship - but to "build" it. In an extremely readable and clear way the authors explain how psychoanalytic theory is a powerfully clarifying microscope for understanding the patterns that you may find yourself limited by. I have been re-reading this book for over ten years now and have come to think of it as my "romantic compass" for finding out if I may be heading for true north, or whether I'm lost in the desert. This book has transformed my knowledge of my self and and of those I have gotten close to.
Buy this book, it will help you to find what you're looking for.
It really will.

The first thing that struck me about Mapping the Terrain of the Heart was a sense of having come home to a place that really understood and clarified the beauty alongside the struggles of committed relationships. The next thing that struck me was the sense of hope and direction to be able to thrive in a relationship that has flaws as well as fortune. And finally, I was thrilled to learn how to turn anger into empathy, disappointment into clear-eyed forgiveness, and a developing love affair into a lasting committed relationship with happiness and certainty despite the anxieties that come with human love. I have been reading and re-reading and marking up and highlighting and learning from and gifting this book ever since I was given a copy. This book works! And I am convinced it is due to the writers' encouraging belief that each of us has passion, tenderness and the capacity to love, love long, love well, love brilliantly.

Common Sense Career Advice

Navigating for Success: Passion, Goals and Action is a common sense career book. It's written by Moss Jackson. Dr. Jackson uses sailing as a metaphor for success. He says that much like a voyage, success, requires planning, focus and dedication.
He refers to successful people as "navigators." According to Dr. Jackson, navigators have three traits in common. Navigators: 1) Steer the course of their lives, rather than allowing themselves to be buffeted by waves of circumstance; 2) chart their course by cultivating the key qualities of passion, focus and resilience; and 3) take personal responsibility for, and are fully in charge of their lives.
Dr. Jackson concludes each chapter with a common sense summary he calls "Compass Points." The five Compass Points for Chapter 7 are:
1. Know where you're going and the results you want to achieve.
2. Create a plan to move through the gap.
3. Clarify the specific actions you're going to take.
4. Don't wait until events determine you're fate; take the initiative.
5. Learn from your mistakes and always keep you end state, or goals in mind.
There is a lot of common sense wisdom in these five statements. I particularly like number 4. I often tell my coaching clients that successful people don't wait for things to happen to them, they make happen the things that they want.
I also like the fact that Navigating for Success has a lot of stories and checklists. The book opens with a story about Dr. Jackson's childhood in Brooklyn - including playing stickball in the street and his fond remembrances of the long departed Brooklyn Dodgers. This book format both engaged me and got me thinking about what I need to do to continue my success.
In short, Navigating for Success is a very readable book filled with practical, common sense advice. Dr. Jackson is my kind of guy. I love what he's written and how he's written it.

Helping you find and execute your life plan

We all know intellectually that to achieve our goals effectively we need to plan and execute our plan. Few individuals both plan and execute well; most of us need to put additional effort into one of these activities as it "does not come naturally" to us. Jackson helps the reader with both functions. The book starts with identifying ourselves (Jackson uses the terms "victim," "survivor" and "navigator" for his classifications.)

After identifying and labeling personal styles, Jackson starts with helping readers identify their passions and what they need to do to achieve them. This discussion is not limited to work goals but extends to cover family, personal life, financial life, health and relationships. Next comes dealing with your own emotions, and after that, communicating with others (after all, you will need their help to achieve your goals). After that, he covers unexpected situations.

Like those who advocate spiral-learning techniques, Jackson returns to dealing with emotions, but this time he focuses on dealing with other people's emotions. Some of the examples he gives refer to dealing with emotions in a group setting. In keeping with the spiral-learning techniques, Jackson next discusses team building, empowerment motivation and conflict resolution. The last few chapters are shorter than the preceding ones and summarize the overall message of the book.

Jackson's writing style is crisp and concise - even the longest chapters can be read in under fifteen minutes. The paragraphs are fluid and the examples help understand the concepts Jackson is presenting. My only real criticism is that the text would have benefited from the services of an editor. It's not that Jackson's writing needs to be clearer, its just that there were a few annoying typographical errors that a conventional spell check would not be able to pick up (for example "sin" instead of "seem"). Fortunately, these errors are rare.

Overall, this is an excellent book. The content is well presented, and I like Jackson's approach of starting with the self and then moving to others. By using metaphors and symbols associated with sailing, Jackson provides a workbook blueprint that is inspiring, thoughtful and thought provoking.

Armchair Interviews says: Good book for those who want to be successful in business and life.

Life is a journey. Moss A. Jackson gives us many useful tips to live a meaningful and successful life in "Navigating for Success: Passion, Goal & Action."

"...For whatever dream you choose to pursue, this book will show you how to be a more confident and effective Navigator for success." Moss wrote, "Who are Navigators? They are individuals who steer the course of their lives, rather than allow themselves to be buffeted about by waves of circumstance, past experience or emotion. Navigators chart their course by cultivating the key qualities of passion, focus, resilience, and a sense of adventure. Rather than viewing problems as obstacles, they seize them as opportunities..." Moss also discusses the ways of survivors and victims, and analyzes the reasons for their failures.

"Navigating for Success: Passion, Goal & Action" has 7 parts: Steering Your Life, Mapping Your Course, Riding Your Inner Wave, Ship to Shore: Getting Connected, Storm Warning, Building Your Crew and Setting Sail. Each part is divided into several chapters with real life examples and a simple question section at the end.

"Navigating for Success: Passion, Goal & Action" has 137 pages. It is a useful book for those seeking business and professional success and striving to achieve personal goals.

This was an EXCELLENT study of God's word as it deals with marriage, relationships, sex, AND being single. A friend recommended this and I had NO idea this book would stir up my marriage. God is so awesome-He addresses every issue thought possible in His Word. Mr. Yandian has done an excellent job of breaking the Bread of Life and teaching us about God's will for relationships!

Definitely a blueprint!

I do divorce mediation for the District Courts in Oklahoma and very seldom do I get a case that reconciles. But when I do, an unsurmountable amount of energy goes into helping the couple learn to communicate with each other. I tune in to where I think they feel strengthened and offer books to them to share with one another. Since I cannot offer counseling, due to conflict, I give them the option of resources. I go from mediator to liaison and remain available to help guide their continued need for a non-biased facilitator. Pages 148-151 is great information for those contemplating marriage. Walking in covenant is very important and this book capitalizes on it.

It very easily presents the Truth that will steer back the Man and the Woman to God's divine masterplan in Eden. Thank you Holy Spirit for moving Mr. Bob Yandian in this great work.

This is an absolutely fantastic study on Biblical principles as they pertain to marriage and singlehood. It is eye-opening, soul-searching and you really are challenged to become the person that God desires for your mate. I loaned it to a friend and I can't wait to get it back to read it again. This book has literally ministered to my soul, heart and mind and encouraged me to wait on the Lord for his leading.

My husband of two years and I have wrangled endlessly about how to make our marriage healthy. We were at the point of divorce for the twentieth time when this book was recommended by a friend. The one hour it took to read was the most powerful I've experienced in ages! My sweetheart agreed to read it as well. We sat down and discussed several of the chapters (none more than 3-4 pages long) which were especially pertinent to us. The book opened dialog we've failed to have before and led to a reconciliation of true strength. We were clearly able to see the simple principles we'd managed to miss in creating our lives together. The book is very readable, very quotable, and very, very powerful. We dare you to live your lives with the full passion Barbara suggests.

She could not be anymore truthful with this book. A few years back, I borrowed this book from the local library. I read it from cover to cover within a day and a half. I love it. It is very readable, right to the point, and hits you where it should: right to the heart. I have other books by her, but PASSION is my all-time favorite. I found it used for a very good price on this site, and I purchased it. Get the book; you'll thank me for it.

I picked up this little red book knowing nothing about DeAnglelis and too little about some of my own confusing emotions and experiences. Perhaps its brevity and simple truths are part of its power and charm. Don't expect an intellectual masterpiece but it's well worth the hour it will take to read. If you are passionate, you will love it and laugh with DeAngelis. If you lack passion, it could open your eyes to a new truth.

The book is very short (I was able to read it almost in its entirety during a two hour flight) but completely concise with at least a gem or two of wisdom on each page. It's inspired me to re-examine the manner in which I react to things and how I handle my relationships. Very highly recommended.
