This is a must have. Not only are the recipes out of this world, but the pictures give the book an added zing. I have given many of them out as gifts and have heard nothing but rave reviews.

Ive bought a number of copies to give at bachelorette parties, they have been a hoot. The book also has great party recipes which Ive used for many gatherings. A definite Keeper

The debut children's book of pediatric nurse Cheri Bivin Deich, The Messy Monkey Tea Party is a humorous picturebook about a young girl who has the exciting idea of inviting all sorts of animals to tea. But each animal encounters its own quirky difficulties at teatime, and the monkeys leave the biggest mess of all! "They swung from the trees and tossed dishes around / And were making a constant, low chattering sound. // They threw their cake and their cookies this way and that / Then plopped in a chair and finally sat. // The monkeys began tying napkins in knots / On their heads they balanced cups and tea pots." The colorful and exaggerated illustrations add the perfect visual touch to this playful children's book.

Deich and Genth have produced a fantastic book full of well written verse and facinatingly funny drawlings! You'll want to read it over and over again with your kids...or just by yourself! I can't wait for more books by both of them!

This book was an uplifting call for every woman to free the spirit within. The "flying woman" series of women elevating above the constraints of domesticity calls to all women while the poetry concerning the environment and respecting human dignity above class and cultural barriers was some of the most inspiring, generous, and humanistic work I have had the fortune to read. Please reprint this book so I can buy it for friends!

I have recently had the honour of purchasing Jane Evershed's, "More Than a Tea Party". It is a beautiful work of art - words, images, and colors. It has moved me and inspired me. As a woman who has struggled in a world that values unrealistic body size and shape, Jane's work reflects images of women who are real, energetic, whole, and profound. I read her work and am inspired by how Jane invites women to embrace their gifts and honour their connection to the earth. Thoroughly enjoyed the great ideas in this book. Each project is so well thought out you can't go wrong. Very helpful preparation is spelled out so doing the craft for a group goes smoothly. Tried the hand felted butterfly and the garden stepping stone so far.

The crafts in this book are great! Your groups will love these ideas.

This pictures in this book are beautiful. The story is a rhyming verse of a mouse crashing in on a child's birthday party. As the party continues, the mouse moves from room to room. Children enjoy finding the mouse on every page. The mouse is cleaverly hidden and mixed in amongst other "mouse like" items. This is a fun book to read as well as enjoy the detailed creative photos. A simpler variation of the "I Spy Books" with a delightful suspensful poem to carry the action along.

Now, normally a cat person, I also have a secret love for mice. They are just too adorable. When my cat found a mouse "in the house" a few months ago, I immediately let the poor thing go back outside hoping it would run back to its home in the fields.

Now in this story, a very mischievous mouse named Henrietta lives in a house and at times takes many long-distance expeditions in order to become an expert on cats and the cheeses of the world.

On the first page she is already up to no good, knocking over the ink and running right through the ink, so here she starts to leave a trail of paw prints on each page.

"On each page, in each room, I'll be doing my worst." -Henrietta

As you turn to the second page, suddenly she disappears, yet the paw prints tell exactly where she is, if you follow the right ones. The entire page is the garden room filled with potted bulbs, a wheelbarrow and watering can. Oh, and a few rather nibbled on apples.

Next, the delightful kitchen shelves become a mouse playground. Cheese, jelly, chocolate mice and where did she go? She is hidden quite well! Still in the kitchen, we see all the makings for cake and cookies for the birthday party. Looks delicious. Then, onto the hallway to hide safely while the cat is asleep.

While the birthday party is going on, little Henrietta has a feast of her own and is found nibbling on some cat cookies. Off to the playroom where she disappears almost entirely and then off to the bathroom to sail in a boat. By accident, she gets a bit of a bath. lol

"On to the attic, the best is for last! No one comes up-I can hide in the past." -Henrietta

Finally, the next morning she collects the rest of the party leftovers to furnish her nest and then suddenly she sees paws at the door!

"The cat seeks a mouse. I may have to move on-is there room in your house?" she says.

I can also highly recommend: The Country Mouse in the Town House in which the little country mouse receives an invitation to visit the little city mouse and you just know they are going to have some "scampering" good times.

Cute hide-and-seek books.

I know well these wonderful little books, as well as the Little Miss series too.
They're just the right size for little hands to hold.
The illustrations are brightly coloured and funny.
They're great for early readers and fun for adults too.
They are written in the UK, so an occasional explanation for certain words maybe necessary, but doesn't detract from the stories?

Just started collecting these for our two kids. They are adorable and are small so easy to store without creating much clutter.

While best known for her novels, Virginia Woolf also wrote essays and short stories. This is a short collection of seven stories from the period 1922 to 1927, around the publication of Mrs. Dalloway. Some of the stories had previously been published elsewhere, but this is the first publication for two of them.

Like the novel, these short stories surround the party; but unlike the novel, most of these stories focus on the guests at the party. The first of these relates an expedition of Clarissa Dalloway's to buy gloves, and is full of all the interior monologue one might expect. The rest are rather character sketches and encounters among Mrs. Dalloway's guests, and absolutely leave one satisfied with a picture of each character and encounter. If you enjoyed Mrs. Dalloway, and you can read short stories, you absolutely will enjoy this book.

You don't need to have read the classic novel Mrs. Dalloway to appreciate this collection of short stories (which take place at the party which is the centerpiece of that book) in order to appreciate Woolf's genius, although it certainly won't hurt. Woolf's internal monologues are, if anything, more delightful in these smaller doses. The point of view is always clear, and those who have found Woolf's prose to be sometimes a tad tiring will be pleased to find this much easier reading. As in the novel, her characters are emotionally flawed, thoroughly believable, and all-too-familiar. A perfect choice for readers not ready to commit to a complete novel by Woolf, but who want to know what all the excitement is about.

What a wonderful story! I highly recommend it to anyone, regardless of age. It's a good, fast-paced book about kids with cancer and is done in a light-hearted, light-handed way. It will appeal to mature kids and teens because it's written from the point of view of an eleven year-old who has leukemia, and it will appeal to adults who are seeking an entry-level piece into the subject of childhood cancer. There's plenty of mischief and humor, as well as some somber moments. Like the quote on the back of the book says, it gave me tears and smiles. This is one of those rare, wonderful, young readers books for everyone - both young and old. It deals with an energetic, young girl who has leukemia and her miserable, aristocratic neighbor who doesn't care about anyone. This light and upbeat awareness piece about kids with cancer is a fast read and you walk away learning something about a very difficult subject. An enjoyable book for all to read, Mrs. M will be particularly helpful to families, friends, and relatives of those young people diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

This delightful story tells about a little girl who learns the joy of giving. Even my boys pull this book off the shelf and ask me to read it over and over. Mrs. King's descriptive writing keeps the story interesting for adults as well as capturing the attentions of children. I especially like the lesson it teaches and the easy recipes in the back encourage more quality time together as you cook with your children. The illustrations are brightly colored and beautifully drawn. Definitely kid-tested and mother-approved!

We've all heard the saying "It's better to give than to receive," but for children this can be a difficult lession to learn. In Mrs. Twiggenbotham Goes to a Party, Mrs. Twiggenbotham teaches her granddaughter Felicity first hand that "God's greater joy is in giving."

This hardcover book, released in June 2003 by Kregel publications, tells the story of an evening that changes little Felicity's perspective on the many blessings she has in her life. As the story begins, Felicity is passing a quiet evening at Grandmother's, and is lamenting the fact that she has fallen in love with a new doll she's seen in the window. Her parents have informed her that she may have the doll (the sixth in the series and one she feels she just must have), but that she will have to wait until her birthday.

Grandma/Mrs. Twiggenbotham, involves Felicity in baking a special dessert for a needy family nearby and the two set off to deliver the dessert. As the evening progresses, Felicity learns that indeed "God's greater joy is in giving."

As a bonus, the book features two special recipes that young readers can prepare and enjoy with the help of their families.

Mrs. Twiggenbotham Goes to a Party will help young children to recognize and count their blessings, and to look for opportunities to give and share with others.

Bought for my youngest daughter, a 6 yr. old. Perfect for her to read. Nice little paperback book.

Great book because it has short words and little pictures (icons) woven in between so that the kids can help read the book too. It features 'princess/girlie' stuff like ponies and a castle and tiaras and a heart necklace.

This is a bedtime favorite at our house. Our daughter loves the "My Little Ponies" and this story is about the ponies getting ready for the ball, and about wishes coming true. Isn't that what every little girl wants to read about right before they drift off to sleep?
