The Roman Catholic Church went through her ups and downs and became the nation called Vatican City State. Then she got special access to the USA through diplomatic protocol that no other "church" on earth has. I always wondered why the USA Government made all those Catholic holidays into federal law.

President John F. Kennedy's secret Vatican connections were never exposed by the elite media (the same ones who did not report about his adultery with women did not inform us about his adulterous church-state affairs). So it turns out JFK implemented the pope's encyclical Pacem en Terris into our public policies. Meanwhile the church made Pacem en Terris the cornerstone of Vatican II's church-state manifesto. President LBJ took over after they knocked off JFK and adopted all of his Catholic policies which every single President since their terms have contributed to implementing. I am mad as hell at the news media for not exposing the Government's involvement with the Vatican!!!

All those ancient nations in the Bible book of Daniel gave rise to the modern nations on the map in the Middle East today. The most interesting thing to me was the secret national archives documents that prove what the end-time world order is going to be.

The intertwined roles of Zionist Israel, the Vatican, and the USA in causing Armageddon is what surprises me the most; this part was so fascinating because it really makes the Bible relevant to us today. The historical details prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.

But the most surprising thing to me is the hidden meaning that the authors found deep in the original Greek word (derived from Hebrew) translated as "Armageddon." They are the first to put this landmark word into proper perspective ... marking something fabulous that is about to happen to the world. Nobody has explained the proper context of the word ever before.

I would recommend this book as a good introduction to the subject, although I believe the "stone" of Israel refers to the "Urim-Thummim" (see bibleprophet.com/Elijah012.html) that is in the hands of Elijah who is a priest of Zadokite descent. I also agree with the author that the second witness is a woman.

This is one of the most exciting books about Holy Scripture that I've read in a very long while, and that's saying a lot.
The beautifully flowing and descriptive language, the fresh, anointed insights, and just the sheer volume of such a wonderful work ~ makes this rate right up there with the Message Bible and daresay, with Robert Alter's Genesis.

Kudos to Ms. Karen Lee-Thorp for a magnificent volume of gorgeous wordsmithing. Ms. Lee-Thorp is a Yale graduate by the way....I can only highly recommend this great book, it's the most refreshing one to come along in a great while. Can't wait to read more of Karen Lee-Thorp! Magnifico!

When I was 12 and in my confirmation class, I was given this book. I loved the stories. What I most liked was the way the Bible was explained. For example, there are different creation stories in Genesis. This book explained why there was a difference. The book provides a good retelling of the stories along with some explanation and background. It is a marvelous resource for today's youth.
When a friend was looking for a book of Bible stories for their grandchild, I remembered this book. I was so glad to see that I could still get a copy. I just wish that it was still in print today.

As a graduate student in early modern Europe I thought this book was well done. The book focuses on the poison issue in Louis XIV's France. There is a clear shift in the methods of investigation--meaning each case was carefully examined. The Affair of the Poison was a major event only because members of Louis's court were accused or targeted.


1. The author does not ramble and use every possible quote from accusations, etc. Enough are used to support the flow of her argument, and the pages are not flooded with testimonies. It contrasts "In the Devil's Snare" where the author flooded the pages with testimony after testimony creating a tedious read.

2. Well written and well organized.

3. If your interested in witchcraft/poisons/potions/etc of early modern Europe this is a good book. Furthermore, you do not need to be an expert on the subject matter to understand the argument.


If you are a history student focusing on early modern Europe, get this book. I would also suggest "The Bewitching of Anne Gunther"

This amazingly well written book sheds light on the life of John and his apocalyptic eschatology as never before. After having the chance to meet Dr. Bob Royalty and discuss the life of John with him, this book was a natural progression in my understanding of the teachings of John as well as the full story of early Christianity. I highly reccomend this book to anyone interested in the religious philosophy of the Ancient Mediterranean World as well as those simply interested in the search for meaning in life.

The author's conversational, real-world writing style have provided me with a wholely different viewpoint regarding the last book of the Bible. My previous attempts at understanding John's work left me unsettled and impossibly confused. Ms. Kelly's historical references keep the work from becoming too preachy or pollyanna-ish. As promised, I felt comforted and relieved after finishing Subtracting Fears.

This book not only presents extensive research into the book of Revelation, it also offers the reader an easy to understand reference guide.
"Surviving The End Times"clearly explains each of the events associated with Revelation and adds research regarding their history,as well as, up to the minute; current significance.
For the many of us who are appreciating the "Left Behind" collection - Mr. Lawrence's book is a 'must have' soul mate to the series!

Robert Dearmore finally brings Bible Prophecy to the common man! Written with the layman in mind, the layout of this reference book is in that of a dictionary style.
