Bernard Mayes is a visionary. Escaping God's Closet is a book of startling scale, as it is more than an autobiography. It's
a thesis on what existence means, with Mayes's life presented as the evidence. Everything is connected, we are all mutually
interdependent...and we must all escape "God's closet" in order to form the ties that bind and ultimately help us to survive.

Scholarly Without Being Overwhelming....

Ryrie, perhaps best known for the Ryrie Study Bible, has here written a verse-by-verse Revelation commentary noteworthy for
being sufficiently detailed and scripturally sound without being too overwhelming for the average layperson. For readers
with a mindset to study but little or no background in Revelation, I recommend this solid commentary. Also, this updated
edition has quite a few helpful charts. If after this book more depth is desired, try other dispensational commentaries such
as those of Walvoord, Thomas, Couch (ed.), or Newell. (For those familiar with eschatology lingo, if you are a preterist,
historicist, or postrib premillenialist in your endtimes interpretation, you will not like this book, since it is written
from a pre-trib, pre-millenialist viewpoint.)

I bought this book as an "extra" text for a Foundations of Theology course and I am glad I did! It proved to be an invaluable
resource for that course. It is clearly and concisely written. It uses every day language to talk about various aspects of
theology. It is understandable for beginners as well as more advanced students.I have recommended it to other students and
to professors. Several have bought their own copy after reviewing mine. One prof is considering using it as a basic text for
his class next spring. Others have added it to their recommended reading lists.

This six volume in one edition gives a book by book overview of each book of the Bible in three aspects: an analysis of the
structure of each book, a synopsis of the main movements in each book, and the special features of each with suggestions for
further study.
From the Back Cover
Explore the Book is not a commentary with verse-by-verse annotations. Neither is it just a series of analyses and outlines. Rather, it is a complete Bible survey course.
No one can finish this series of studies and remain unchanged. The reader will receive lifelong benefit and be enriched by these practical and understandable studies.
Exposition, commentary, and practical application of the meaning and message of the Bible will be found throughout this giant volume. Bible students without any background in Bible study will find this book of immense help as will those who have spent much time studying the Scriptures, including pastors and teachers.
Explore the Book is the result and culmination of a lifetime of dedicated Bible study and exposition on the part of Dr. Baxter. It shows throughout a deep awareness and appreciation of the grand themes of the gospel, as found from the opening book of the Bible through Revelation.

Rejuvenation is a huge topic. The problem is not that there aren't ways to rejuvenate
our bodyminds, but that one can get lost in the maze of the multifarious approaches.
This little book (107 pages including the Appendix) details the original, powerfully rejuvenative Tibetan Rites as described by Peter Kelder in the 1946 edition of Eye of Revelation. The book was significantly altered, and not necessarily for the better, in subsequent editions by Harbor Press and others. We owe a debt of gratitude to the editor Jerry Watts for making the original edition widely available, for his
editorial notes, including those detailing those differences between Eye of Revelation and later editions, and
for his pointers on making them even more user-friendly, such as his innovation of using
a "pushup stand" for the fourth Rite, which many find difficult in the beginning.
I would take issue with his caution against eating raw eggs (raw egg
yolks are advised in Kelder's book). I think there is more than enough evidence of the safety
of raw eggs; in fact I prefer raw eggs whole. If one eats
raw organic eggs from free-range chickens, the risk is infinitesimal and the nutritional benefits are great. Hopefully those comments will be modified in a later edition.
But overall, this is a fantastic contribution to the literature of the ancient, magical Rites, which apparently
do indeed act to synchronize the chakras and thus the glands. The chapters on Mantram Mind Magic, diet,
and voice exercises (including the simple yet powerfully effective chanting of "Aum") round out the book
to make it practically a total guide to rejuvenation. I myself have benefited greatly from
the Rites, though I am always seeking to improve my practice, and there is much for me to learn from and
ponder in the pages of this book.

This book is an outstanding commentary on the book of Revelation by a talented and knowledgeable author. This is a historical-critical
exegesis of the book of Revelation. I found it thorough and remarkable. A must-read for anyone interested in the apocolyptic
literature of the New Testament.

Let me add something for everyone to think about. Whenever there are calamities and catastrophies, it seems that idolatry
is just around the corner. How long will people learn what God hates most.
