Courage for Today, Hope for Tomorrow is an excellent resource. It is comprehensive and easy to understand. The book of Revelations is explained verse by verse. I was very happy to see that it is back in print!

From the moment I started reading this book, I was spellbound. It was well-written, and read like a novel, with suspense and twists and turns that kept me leafing through the pages. Even though several times I found the arithmetic a little confusing, and unclear how they got their numbers, the concept of gematria made sense. The author uses this technique to decode the Book of Revelation with a team of experts.

The concept of gematria, a method of coding, was widespread during the time of Apostle John. In both the Hebrew and Greek languages, letters had numeric values, and by converting the letters to numeric values and adding them until one number came out (e.g. 414 = 54 = 9), they were able to make connections between words. I was impressed by the decoding, and the historical facts that were revealed in this book. For example, the book revealed that Hitler dissolved the League of Catholic Youth, assassinated the leader of the Catholic Action, and imprisoned and arrested priests and nuns. The Christians were also martyrs, as well as the Jews. The mark of the Beast 666 was attributed to Hitler, and the author meticulously goes about explaining this.

Besides being intriguing and thought-provoking, the book delves into the relationship of the author with a monk from Mt. Athos - Father Alexander. This unique relationship, and the wisdom imparted by the monk adds another dimension to this informative decoding. The author visits him, and each time, there is spiritual advice and wisdom imparted. When Fr. Alexander dies, he leaves behind a letter for the author, which in itself is priceless. Read the book!

This is a book that has had a significant influence on biblical scholarship for some time, though it has only been available in German. Now that it is available in English translation it will reach a wider audience.

About me:
I have been in the lending industry for 21 plus years. I started as a teller, cashier, customer service, collector, loan officer and moved onto a branch manager position and then a district manager. After that to a director of compliance for a retail lending company. Then I went into operations management in the wholesale industry and on into a bank retail operation, first for sub-prime and now prime.

The most important thing about my experience with credit has mostly been on the job. I went to a 2 yr junior college and majored in finance but then found a position in finance and off I went to achieve it all. I have taken many classes on line during the past several years, which just keeps me up to date with technology and the industry. I have taken Regulatory classes but did not get certification. You could say that most of my experience is from being in the trenches.

this is a must to read for those who seek to explore narrative techniques of the apocalypse.

This is a very interesting book. I have never read one quite like it before. In this spritual autobiography Swaggart reveals his most personal revelations, experiences, his call to ministry and even his dreams are interpeted. I recommend the book to Christians and non-Christians alike.It shows a side of Swaggart that is revealing, informative and engrossing. It should be required reading for all Christians.

The only verse-by-verse commentary on the book of Revelation to date. Well researched, and challenging.
