This book gives the best overview of the acoustics of musical instruments I've found. It is a must for the study of acoustics and the recording of acoustic instruments. A hand book for classical recording.

This book is amazing. I reviewed it earlier this academic year and wish I had come across it sooner. If teachers and/or professors wish to enliven their presentations in the classroom to make learning come alive for their students, this book offers hundreds of novel ideas and approaches. The authors, Robert T. Tauber and Cathy Sargent Mester, take the teaching of subject matter to a higher level with their audiences that is, their students, in mind, which ultimately is what teaching and learning are all about.

There is no excuse for a boring classroom after reading the chapters in this book. And, no, I do not know either of the authors. Their book is a much needed addition to pedagogy for real students in a world rife with a multitude of distractions. I recommend Acting Lessons for Teachers for both high school and college/university classes.

It's not called 'Action' and persuasion, it's 'Actio' and persuasion, and she is Goodden with two ds. And it's a delightful book.

Many leadership books are on the market with excellent concepts and theories, but the great thing about this book is that it contains real tools, assessments, and ideas any manager can download and actually use immediately to assess their own skills or to use as team activities with their employees. This book is great for those who continually work to develop their leadership skills, but is especially excellent for managers who "don't have time for leadership classes", because they can use the activities on their own with their team during staff meetings, or as "just-in-time" tools as they are needed to help employees deal with change, etc. This is also an excellent resource for those in the HR/leadership development field - the tools can be used on a 1-on-1 basis with a manager, or they could be used within a leadership course.

This book taught me more about the REAL acting world than anything did in any of my theatre classes in college. The essential "Do's and Don'ts of theatre in the real world. Absolutley necessary for any actor who doesn;t know the ins and outs of how to behave when working in the theatre.

I can't imagine any actor not being transformed by this book. A must read for anyone interested in Dickens or theater.

This is the book to choose if you are serious about getting into shape without requiring any gyms. The workouts are fashioned after a real boxing regimine. The calisthenics are creative and very challenging. I am sure once you implement this routine into your workout, fitness is a given.
