This is one of six books in the Degunking series from Paraglyph Press. It is written from a different perspective than the usual tutorials. After you use Microsoft Office for a while you start to find a number of little problems or annoyances. The first one is usually that you can't find the file you are seeking. You product something, you save it, and pretty soon your directory is full of files with strange names and you can't quite remember just what they are. That's the sort of thing that the authors of this book tell you how to fix.

Eventually most of us have to learn these little tasks, but here in one book, you get a concise and complete list and description of all these little things that you should do every so often. They really will make your system run better.

This book says that it's intended for Novice to Intermediate user. I don't think this is for complete novices, perhaps just one step up. The complete novice probably doesn't know what Office is all about.

With this book you should also get the Degunking buide to other software, especially the operating system as it also tends to attract clutter.

Demo Details is a very well written and designed book covering every aspect of demo jumping, and I do mean every aspect. Dormire shares his many years of demo jumping experience by guiding the reader through such things as the dreaded FAA paperwork, insurance forms, and obtaining wavers, as well as items like smoke, flags, streamers, etc. With many photos and diagrams, Demo Details is a ideal book for all jumpers considering doing some demo jumps. Five Stars!

The Design, Performance, and Analysis of Slug Tests is a text which walks the reader through all the necessary steps for obtaining information about the transmissive nature of formations through slug testing. Butler gives not only a theoretical understanding of the slug test in this book, but he also gives many caveats and pitfalls which may be encountered when using the method. Butler explains to the reader which field methods and analysis methods are best suited for various situations. He also gives special reccomendations for formations of high and low hydraulic conductivity. This book is not meant to be read from cover to cover, but is an excellent reference for the field hydrogeologist. The topic is limited in scope - a fact which allows the coverage of the material to be superb.

I am useing this book and computer program in the auto shop class that I teach. It allows the students to try diffrent engine combinations with out the mega bucks that would be necessary to build them in real life. With it they are learning to appreaciate what their favorite racers are acomplishing, and, at the same time, what pitfalls to avoid.

ANYONE contemplating an engine rebuild or bolting on "performance" products should read this book first and also run the program. The practical presentation of the theory and science behind Mr. Otto's engines is excellent.

The bad news is that the software included is from 1996 and runs in DOS. So, if you are rusty on working in DOS it can be frustrating at the beginning. But, the program is awesome to start with and the fact that it is relatively cheap means there is no reason to pass this up (unless you think you know everything there is to know about engines already.)

The menus include configurations for popular engines plus you can manually enter configurations for everything else.

As much as it irritates me that publihers contiue to sell items that are, in essence, a way to dump obsolete software, I have to admit this book is a deal. Buy it.

Since I'm majoring in Information Resources Management, this book has tremendous impact on how to manage information effeciently and effectively. The seven rules illustrated in the book gave a clear picture on how to be an "IT Star". The core message of the book contains in the first part of the book. This is where the author explained the general overview of what the book is all about. By reading the first part of the book, readers will understand the concepts and approaches that are used in other parts of the book. For instance, what distiguishes IT Stars and IT Laggards and why IT Laggards always failed in obtaining their corporate goals. For future IT managers I would highyly recommend this book to be read for superior IT performance.

For the record, I have met and worked with Lois and Frisner for a brief and wonderful period in 2001. I cannot claim to know them as their close friends might, but they are both very dear to my heart and I'll remember my experience with them for the rest of my life. Lois has dedicated much of her professional, creative life to studying Haitian music and Vodou ceremonies that she learned both through Frisner and the time she has spent in Haiti. To my knowledge, there is no other book which documents the role of music in Haiti so consisely or accurately. The book is packed with excellent information, well written musical examples, and valuable insight. This is a must-have book for percussionists, musicologists, and anybody who has an interest in Carribean music and/or history (not excluding those who may be interested in Afro-American, Latin-American, Jazz/Fusion and their respective histories).

I highly recommend this book. Wilcken has done us a great service in presenting the subject without prejudice. Her research is unprecedented. I'm recommending that Black bookstores in my area have copies on hand for sale.

I've been reading 'Eas Sports Nutrition Review', even though it's distributed by a nutrition company EAS it is incredibly informative; and RIGHTFULLY SO! What a better source of knowledge than a company funded to study it completely?! I started reading it completely this time about a week ago and I'm nearly halfway done, its 305 pages with pictures diagrams notes and an credible amount of resources to further your study. This book is PERFECT for everyone, as a starting point for a solid foundation to someone wanting to refresh and strengthen their knowledge about nutrition, exercise as well. There is a complete section all about exerciseing and goal settiing as well as mental health in addition to everything else!

I've read parts of it before about muscle and strength gain and now as I read the section on fat loss and basic nutrition I cannot believe I overlooked the importance of the two sections. They explain insulin, carb. effects in terms of energy etc and leptin along with so much more. It is highly dense in information on not just describing what's happening in the body but giving examples, explanations and suggestions.

I'm highlighting key points as I read it and compiling questions along the way so that I can quiz myself on the material to seriously retain the knowledge. I believe so strongly on this subject that it should be taught in schools as a necessity. I would advice EVERYONE to pick up a copy of this book and study it, not just read it but STUDY it! The knowledge and implementing of it is priceless.

For anyone that has ever gone through a diet, tried to lose weight or try to gain muscle and strength once you read this book your eyes will be open to a whole new world. This book is very cheap on amazon.com. You can get a copy used in great condition for as little as a few dollars. SERIOUSLY once you read this book you will have so many "Ah-Hah!" moments, where something in your mind will click. There are so many good points I could share with you about this book, I wish I could, so just read the book and see what I'm talking about.

Everything from how the food you eat effects insulin (also how to jump start insulin production, my dad is a type two diabetic and I have been noticing dozens of ways and combinations to almost `cure' him of his diabetes! If there ever was a cure it is through nutrition!) production and energy storage to how fat cells work and what happens to your muscle cells and BRAIN when you are lacking energy from carbs, muscles get broken down into amino acids to supply the body with energy to the effects of lack of carbs and energy with brain function and concentration, not to forget the importance of water as well....

There is so much good stuff in this book! This book is all about optimizing your nutrition and well being I don't think it should be limited to health enthusiasts, IT SHOULD BE TAUGHT TO EVERYONE! It should be taught in school as a mandatory subject for everyone. I don't mean the average nutrition class one might take in high school I mean an in depth seriously important insight, one that this book greatly supplies.

This book is awesome for those interested in strength training and body building. It combines the best thinking on foundation fuel eating and dietary supplements to achieve your physical fitness goals.

If I had a band, if I could do speaking singing, if I had the nerve to say in front of people what Hedwig Gorski wrote, if I could find places around here that would appreciate it, I'd start a Gorski East of Eden Band cover band with this songbook. It has all the class with notes and chord changes written into the large-sized text so that musicians in dark clubs can read and follow the poetry lines with chord changes. Anyone want to start an East of Eden Band cover band?

My spoken word/electronic music band has been performing Hedwig Gorski's poems from Warsaw to Berlin, our migration route. We have D'Jalma Garnier's music from some old East of Eden Band cassettes, but the songbook marks where the chord changes happen. It's easier to understand the words. Rights are completely free to cover the stuff with purchase of the book. Can't beat it. Crowds go nuts. We need deep vocal poetry again and it rocks. We heard in Berlin that JOhn Cameron Mitchell
