This is a great book for any kid who likes soccer. I think every team should have at least one and probably more so they could use the awesome tattoos. I like all the information and the places to write everything. Be sure to give it to someone as a present for the holidays.

This book is soooooo cool!!! My whole team wore the tatoos at a tournement a month ago and we totally rocked. Plus I've learned some cool tricks from the book.

I gave a copy of this book to my 9 year-old niece, and she loves it. Several other girls on her soccer team have picked up the book, too, and now they all sit together after games, filling up the pages. Finding gifts for kids can be hard...but this book will make it easier!

I got it for my daughter(13) and my son (11) stole all his temporary tattoos, so I had to get him one too. I bought the book because I thought she'd like the bright design and the goodies, but I was really glad to seem them sitting together, filling in the blank sections and comparing notes. Any chance to get them reading and writing...

I really enjoyed reading this book!

It is wonderful the way the author uses the anology of the Eagle to show how God wants us to soar and fulfill our dreams and to find our purpose in life. I feel this author will be able to reach her readers and inspire them to soar to greater height!!

This book is wonderful. I really don't like to write, but i find keeping a journal helps me to relax and put things into perspective. I will be able to look back on my journal and see the good things that happened day to day. Sometimes while reading the book you really feel you are in flight with an eagle. Mrs. Sova motivates me to motivate myself. I suggest to cuddle up in bed with no distractions and really concentrate on this book, it could change your path in life!

This book was inspiring and brought out new concepts for journaling to implement in daily life. Sova's real life stories were touching. Her experience in the HOLY LAND was moving. Sova has a way displaying her private world and sharing the traits of the eagle. I wish more people just knew what was written in this book. Its not really what you did in one situation or another, its who you are that makes you who you are. so if you had a bad day or somebody turned you down or something, dont crumble into pieces, just keep living the way you want and eventually- sooner than later- that will pay high dividents

This book was given to me by a co-worker years ago when leaving my first counseling position. Ever since then it has inspired me and been a resource that I constantly utilize. Ive used it in my practice of therapy as well as my personal life. Great book that will never become outdated. Buy it and use it, and use it, and use it. Its always close by for a reference on my daily journey. Highly recommended.

After receiving my disappointing MCAT score and three unsatisfying grades, I saw the world was tembling in front of me. I began to question myself. Do I really have what it takes to become a doctor? Maybe I am not smart enough to compete with other people. I was feeling very discouraged until I encountered John Maxwell's "Success: One Day at a Time." In the book, it says success is not measured by how much one accomplishes but by how many problems one encounters, and one should never give up their goal just because it is difficult at times. I read the entire book in one sitting. The book really helped me to divert my attention from focusing on my lackings to my strengths. It helped me to build a new attitude toward the means of acheiving my goal.

I've always been a big fan of John Maxwell's work and this did not disappoint. This is a great companion book. Full of great, short, positive insights it's a great source of daily inspiration and wisdom. Maxwell still reigns as the leader in understanding leadership and vision and by culling the wisdom of great leaders he once again provides an inspirational and insightful book!

This book gives voice to that connection to the earth that so many yearn for, or remember, or even know daily. It is wonderful when such hard won experiences can be shared and given the grace they deserve, accessible to all. Magic though, how Jorrin by subtle turns brings one to a sense of awe for sheep and goats!

I enjoyed this book very much. It's very easy to imagine meeting all the animals on the farm because the author describes their personalities in such detail. I went to school nearby and the descriptions of the weather and terrain brought back memories. The essays are more than just another new farmer tale. They are smoothly written and tightly constructed. Some describe the sad or profound moments of life. I'll be rereading Sylvia's Farm whenever I want to visit 'upstate'.

I read my copy straight through. Simple, yet lyrically written vignettes of both the struggles and the great joys of a hardscrabble farm life, told with the Yankee sensibilities of this serendipitous shepherd.

Not only for those who love animals. A real eye-opener for anyone who has ever thought of sheep as not much more than sweet but somewhat simple-minded bits of fluff. Sylvia Jorrin's journal captures their characters and their quirks. I finished this book hoping that she continues their stories.

The only complaint I have about this book it its paper, which is "bible thin." The tales and sketches from all of Hawthorne's collections are included here, along with 16 previously uncollected stories. If you've read any of Hawthorne's more popularly anthologized tales, you will be amazed at the eloquence and quality of these lesser known jems.

If Library of America had never published another book, this one alone would have justified their existence and earned them the gratitude of readers everywhere. Nearly 1,500 pages of what is arguably the best prose ever published by an Ameican writer.

I am sappy enough to enjoy Hawthorne the most in old editions, the older the better. But the stories are the same, no matter whether you're reading them in a dusty 19th century edition of _Mosses from an Old Manse_ or in this state-of-the-art omnibus edition, which includes all of Hawthorne's tales and sketches arranged chronologically, with brief bibliographic and biographic essays and a few explanatory notes. Take it on vacation with you some summer and experience it for yourself.

This is the best selection to buy of Hawthorne's short stories because it is NOT a selection, it is complete and, if you believe the editor, it's actually more accurate in its assessment of what is and is not a Hawthorne story than some complete collections because he did not include here some stories that his co-editors on the Hawthorne Centenary Edition did want to include. (Hawthorne spent much of his career as an underpaid and unsung magazine writer and some of his work went with no byline and without reprinting at his own choice, so what he wrote is no easy matter to decide.) The stories are, you probably know if you're looking up this book, stark and wonderful. But some of them are also twee and a little fanciful and not so wonderful. That too is instructive. One very useful thing about this volume is that it includes a listing of when each story first saw print in magazine form and when in book form. In that way the reader can chart Hawthorne's development as a magazine writer and a professional which in every possible sense of the word he determined to become and despite some difficult odds finally was. Some of the most beautiful and terrifying stories in the language and a beautiful object to hold in your hand. Expensive, but if you can get it - this is the one to buy.

As an employment attorney and human resource consultant who trains organizations on harassment policy, I use this book as a great reference material. I often suggest it to supervisors who want to know more about how to deal with this complex and difficult problem....

I found the book to be pretty straightforward and easy to read. It gives all the pertinent information on the subject from the law to how to stop sexual harassment to your legal remedies. One of the best features is that provides an array of case studies that clear up a lot of the gray areas. I used the book to help me develop a training on the subject, I recommend it to anyone who needs more info on the subject.

Every business with employees that does not have a sexual harassment policy in place needs to buy this book now.

Actions the authors say employers need to implement regarding sexual harassment include: Do whatever it takes to understand the law, the issues, and keep current; put in place a zero tolerance sexual harassment prevention policy that prohibits specific behaviors of verbal harassment, non-verbal tactics, and physical harassment; take action to stop sexual harassment that does occur and prevent reoccurrence and reprisals.

I found a British paperback edition of this book used in 1984. Since then I have sporadically searched for the rest of "The Bandy Papers" (including several searches of Amazon.com) without success.

I have to agree with the other reviewers here that it was absolutely hilarious. Although I can't remember much of the book specifically, I recall that it was full of absurd situations of the "Jeeves and Wooster" sort.

(BTW if you've been under the impression that P.G. Wodehouse wrote some kind of ponderous British literature, you have two surprises in store.) I can't understand why Jack has not enjoyed a much wider audience, and he's going straight to the top of my Christmas wish list.

In 1980, I was travelling in Europe and saw "That's Me in the Middle" in a used book store in Copenhagen. I was attracted to it for two reasons--1) It had WWI aircraft on the cover and I like books on that period, and 2) It was in English...I picked it up without a second look.

When I left town on the train, I happened to be in the First Class car. As I settled down and began reading about Bart Bandy, I kept having to go out into the hallway to laugh out loud, so as not to irritate the various German businessmen and French society ladies with whom I shared the compartment. It was the funniest book I had ever read! After laughing for a while, wiping my eyes, and taking a deep breath or two, I would go back into the compartment, sit down, and start reading, only to have to burst out into the hall again in a few minutes.

Since that time, I have managed to find and read all of the Bandy Papers. They are all just as funny, and are true to the hilarious character of Bartholomew Bandy. Donald Jack writes a good historical novel, and creates such a group of idiosynchratic characters that we immediately recognize. Then, he weaves them all into situations that are just plain funny! I would recommend any of the Bandy Papers and, as this was the first I had read, it holds a special place for me.

And for this colorful book produced by the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, we are guided through the house and grounds by people who know their stuff.

Specifically, the chapters of this title are written by Monticello's director of restoration, the curator, the director of gardens and grounds, and other experts associated with the Foundation. Large, colorful photos are accompanied by informed commentary and all the requisite history, as well as documentation of the decades of restoration work it has taken to get the house and grounds to its current condition. A book doesn't make up for a visit in person -- if anything, I wished for more photos of the interior, especially of the book room and "cabinet." But for a general overview of the house, grounds, and collection, and an insight into the man himself, this book is hard to beat. I recommend it as a souvenir, as well as a nice companion to a Jefferson biography.

Anyone interested in this remarkable man and his home who is unable to visit Monticello in person should strongly consider this work.

This is a highly informative, well documented book covering all aspects of the design and building of Thomas Jefferson's home, plus insights into why things were done the way they were done, through Jefferson's own notes, sketches and correspondence. Plus,the photographs are exquisite.

Have this book for my first daughter and was thrilled to see it still available. Will be a great gift for my two little ones on their wedding day. Tons of pages for grandparents to complete and the parents as well. A terrific way to pass family stories and history to our children!

I received this as a gift when I was pregnant with my first child, and am buying another for my second baby. When I was asking my parents and my in-laws for stories, I learned so much about them! I'm so glad to have had the chance to learn things about all of us, and to be able to pass it on to my children.

The book includes space to write about the family, but also about the child's growing years -- all the way up to adulthood and marriage!

There were some spaces we couldn't fill in (because we didn't remember or they just didn't apply), but there weren't many.

This is a beautiful book filled with questions to answer about yourself, your spouse and your child as she grows up and gets married.It has lovely pictures and sentimental writings. This is a wonderful gift for a new mother and her child and will be treasured forever.

If you have horses, you need this book. Even if you never plan to harness a horse in your life, you need this book. A greenhorn born in the big city, I found myself making a living in the country with a naughty pony and several untried young horses. I bought books, went to county fairs, talked to old hands. But what got me going in training my own was a combination of common sense, patience via a love of the animals, and this book. Plain and simple.

Lynn's drawings and photos are exactly perfect. He explains everything with just enough detail but never too much. He has a realistic, kind approach that guarantees to turn out a trusting, trustworthy working equine. For instance, using his methods for introducing a harness, I had an untried colt quietly accepting a harness within 20 minutes, with never a raised voice or tense moment, and by myself. Just the way it should be done.

No kidding. This is the book to get.

I found this book more useful than any other on the subject of training horses. It is in plain old english, easy for anyone to understand. Along with telling you how to do something there are step by step photos so you know exactly what the guy is talking about. Anyone that is training horses to drive or work should have this book. It's good for general training too.
