Every year, the National Storytelling Festival is held. During the 20th anniversary, some of the best stories were collected into this volume, an enchanting assortment of stories that pack a delightful folksy punch and deliver better plots than often seen in more common literature. These awesome stories are complex and written in such a way that the best way of getting them is through the traditional spoken word. This is a wonderful draw to another time.

"The Best Thanksgiving Ever!" is a book adaptation of one my favorite "Bear" specials. With over sixty stickers, this book captures the true spirit of Thanksgiving.

Ojo wants Thanksgiving to be perfect and becomes a Thanksgiving Commander to oversee decorating and such at the Big Blue House. She learns, though, that even when things go really wrong, the important thing is being with friends.

This is one of the best books I have read that was written by a Gentile believer in Yeshua [Jesus] regarding the Plan of God set forth through the Festivals of the Bible. The author is definitely a student of the ancient rabbinic writings and teachings. Because of this work I now understand more clearly the why and what of the festivals as given by God to Israel.

The New Testament calls Yeshua the Passover and Firstfruits of the resurrection, both terms associated with the first two festivals of the annual cycle. Why did Yeshua's death and resurrection coincide with the Passover season as described in the New Testament? Why does much of today's Christianity divorce itself from the Passover? The writer shows how the festivals are still relevant to the New Testament faith!

This book makes sense of the Passover in ways this reader had never considered before. The writer presents the evidence that the seven festivals of God are wedding rehearsals for the eschatological wedding between God and His people. At His first coming Yeshua fulfilled the Passover with His death. He was buried on Unleavened Bread. He arose from the dead on the Firstfruits festival. Fifty days later He sent the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. The author successfully shows that Yeshua fulfilled the spring festivals at their exact appointed times. He projects into the future that His second arrival will coincide with the fall festivals at their exact appointed times of Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, and Tabernacles. This book is filled with amazing Biblical facts and teachings and has a most awesome bibliography for every chapter.

After reading this book, one will want to find ways to celebrate the festivals every year so that they can rehearse the "marriage" Plan of God. I will never read the Bible in the same way again.

This is an excellent book! I own it, but my copy was ruined in a flood. I enjoy using this book so much, I want to replace it. The crafts are easy and fun to do. I have used several of them with a group of children and they are able to understand what to do without multiple instruction repeats.

My son is 19 months old and can not get enough of this book. We literally read it 15-20 times a day. The story line is adorable and opens up several opportunities to talk to your child about feelings and social graces, but the thing that really grabs you are the beautiful illustrations. Talk about a visual treat and an instant vocabulary builder! Hope you love the book as much as we do.

My 2 year old loves this book. He knows all the trucks on in this little book. I read it with him eveynight. It's very colorful.

My 5 year old spotted this book and just had to have it. Once she opened it, I could see why. It comes with a gold band and a place for the 12 different birthstones so a child can have a new ring for each month. It also comes with a cute little book that has all kinds of information on birthdays like birth flowers, birth colors, famous birthdays and much more. When my daughter brought it for show and tell, she was surrounded by her classmates (girls and boys) just waiting to get a better look. It's the perfect birthday gift for any little girl.

I have treasured this book for years and am now sending it to my grandson prior to his 3rd birthday. The illustrations and story line are simple and easy to follow. These is mounting suspense, even some anxiety as to whether ....well, buy the book. You will treasure it for years also and save it for your grandchildren.

A Birthday Surprise is a great book for the birthday girl or boy! We bought this book for our daughter's first birthday and she enjoys flipping through the pages while watching Bear on tv or before bedtime.

Not only does A Birthday Surprise have beautiful brightly colored pages but it also comes with some bitrhday fun stickers. The story follows a birthday party in the Big Blue House from the begining to the end and shows kids all the fun that the birthday boy or girl has and all the fun everyone else has too.
