I am a software trainer and I am self taught via reading books and testing the software for various client needs.

This books is definitely not a fluff book. I don't use AOL for my personal use but I provide one on one AOL training. This is one of the best written and informative software books I have read! Easy reading, many screenshots and organized very well!

I hope the author writes more books.

This study guide is well-researched and an excellent reference for new educators. The guide is aligned to Praxis' outlined guidelines for professional educator standards, and it provides specific information for the skills compiling each competency. Written by teachers, this guide covers topics including how to manage a classroom, how to motivate students, how students learn, how to grow as an educator, and more. Whether used for a new teacher just entering the classroom or as a reference during your teaching career, this book is a must-have for teachers!

This book is certainly a first of its kind. The number of authors included in this anthology is unprecedented, covering the literature of slavery all the way to the 21st-century. Substantively, it is very engaging and beautifully produced. I found the map to be very useful, as were the well-crafted bibliographies.

If you are trying to cut to the chase and go online to some really good educational sites, then this is the book for you. As an educator, I was spending a lot of my time searching the net for educational sites to help me grow professionally, as well as aid in my classroom instruction. The Table of Contents is organized according to easy-to-understand educational topics of interest which allows the information on a particular site to be easily found. If you are a parent, this book has a section for parents and one for kids, too. There is also a description and commentary of each site which I found particularly helpful before actually going online to that site. For me, this took the guesswork out of going to a site for the first time. In summary, ... A definite must for the 21st century educator.

The fact that the author has been in the same awful position were in now helped a lot! Only wish i'd read it 5 or 6 years ago. Down to the last detail everything has been considered, how to chose the right care home, how to make sure that bills can still be payed without losing the house-even down to how we can make sure that voting rights are secured! Gives a whole knew perspective on age and doesn't shy away from any issues what so ever-in fact the author makes you think about the things we were avoiding!

Would whole heartedley reccommend it to any one who has either left it too late and is having to make decisions for a mother of father or to any one who is ensuring their property, savings and personal choice are protected for when they grow older and have to rely on others.

In a principle centered look at online writing instruction, Hewett and Ehmann prepare the way for the future. They do an outstanding job of defining online pedagogy, explaining this new interaction with the inherent challenges and potential benefits. I think it is a must read for any educator who has already implemented an online writing program or plans to start one. I found the theoretical aspect of the book intriging and loved all the specific examples they use to help the reader understand the actual online interaction and processes. I have not found any other book that comes close to this perspective; it's a real winner!

This is a demanding high school (or undemanding college) introductory textbook on the subject. Only the most rudimentary algebra is required, and honestly one could easily get through the book without even that.

The edition is handsomely printed, with a font that's easy on the eye and plenty of colorful and helpfully-glossed graphs. The chapters themselves are not too long, which helps with a student's morale, believe me.

Recently I was put into a situation where I had to go, in the space of about 4 months, from knowing jack-squat about economics to being able to teach college-level macroeconomics!

Well, I frantically collected a ton of textbooks and articles about macroeconomics, ranging from the elementary to the abstruse and got to work.

And I gotta say: when something befuddled me and I found myself threshing about from text to text for the best explanation, it was nearly always Mankiw who came through with the critical phrasing that made the idea click and got me saying: "Ohhhhhh! I get it!" most often.

Not that this was always the case. There were times when I found better explanations elsewhere (e.g., Chapter 19, on the foreign currency market, is exasperatingly elliptical and could use a major dummying-down), but more often than not, Mr. Mankiw had the goods: the clearest and most easy-to-follow way of wording or graphing a slippery or counter-intuitive concept.

Of course, it's easy to hate Mr. Mankiw: he's young, he's handsome, he's brilliant (one of the youngest full professors ever at Harvard), and he's rich (his textbooks are now standard in AP courses nationwide). Jerk!

Because of these reasons, I would love to trash his book, showing how it "ain't all that."

Well, it is. Gulp.

Only one note: If you're planning on getting this book to study macroeconomics independently, you will find one irritating drawback: there are exercises at the end of each chapter, but no answers in the back. Essentially, therefore, it's a book for schoolchildren, not mature learners.

But its explanations -- believe me -- can't be beat.

Matthew's book is a great review of the many aspects of Computer on-line security. He covers the issues and problems very well in an understandable way. His book was helpful in my research for my book Keep Your Computer Alive, ISBN 0-9708430-2-X. Regular users, network administrators, teachers, students and even the home user should read this book.

The publication of this book has been highly anticipated by many in the emerging field of public health informatics and it does not disappoint. Although seemingly targeted at those new or recently introduced to the discipline, or those "crossing over" from other areas within the broader informatics arena, content is very well-suited for all comers, with sufficient detail to satisfy even those familiar with the many issues detailed in the richly detailed case example chapters.

The breadth of material covered is excellent, making it especially appropriate as an introductory or intermediate text. Of particular interest will be the section of the book on "The Science of Public Health Informatics" which includes particularly fine chapters on information architecture, value assessment, management of personnel and projects, and organizational change. Bill Yasnoff does a particularly good job adding clarity to a muddled domain in a chapter on privacy, confidentiality, and security of Public Health Information. Those readers generally interested in PHI education, or with specific interest in developing training programs for PHI programs or for public health agency personnel would find great value in Janise Richard's chapter on core competencies.

The writing style is generally clear and illustrative, albeit not terribly concise. We have adopted this book as the core text for our graduate-level introductory course in PHI.

This is a wonderful pocket-sized hintbook for a classic and fun game, Quest for Glory 3; it allows the reader to both look at general hints to nudge one along the questline, or a very detailed walkthrough to beat the game with ease, as one wishes.

All in all, it is a great purchase for the avid collector of classic Sierra games.
