Great book filled with successful eBay stories. My favorite was Chapter 2: Adam Hersh. I leave a copy on the end table in our living room because we pick it up so often.

As a layperson with next-to-no knowledge of the subject, nor any maths, algebra or statistics, I thought I'd have a lot of trouble with this book.

And yes, I did have some trouble, and yes, I would really have liked to have had a tutor and classmates to help me through the exercises.

But even so I got a great deal from it, it has lead me to read scientific papers, it has prompted me to investigate higher education possibilities - and it has made me extremely grateful for scientists!

I have used this book as the main reference for an honors senior seminar here at the American University of Paris and have found it to be an excellent text for analysis and documentation. Willem Molle, the author, knows the EU from within and as such he can explained it better than any other author that I have used in this connection

I read this book for a teaching class I am taking in college and it's great. Dr. Provenzo offers a concise history of the Internet and WWW. He stresses the importance of computer technology in the Century to come. He also offers many addresses to interesting sites that a teacher may use in his/her class. He gives detailed examples of lesson plans that can be created through the use of the Internet. Essential for the Computer-weary.

I recently purchased this book on a website that does NOT allow "reviews" of books. But, after reading this book, I FELT COMPLETELY COMPELLED TO DO JUST THAT! It is incredibly insightful! And, this Mr. Raines guy certainly "knows" his stuff!! He mentioned a few situations that I've been a part of over the years (in this book), and he gives this male perspective (on exactly how to handle certain "situations")that is absolutely priceless! 5 STAR RATING HERE, AND A MUST READ FOR ALL WOMEN!!! Whether you're thinking about starting the online dating thing, or have been doing for years, his "insights" are priceless to say the least!!!

I find this book to be fascinating because it contains a lot of helpful information and new techniques on how to do journalism in this age of the Internet. It's a slim volume so I finished reading the book within 2 hours. Definitely a good book for journalists, educators, computer enthusiasts, and others who use the Internet on a daily basis.

It's strange, but at this point this book is the only review of genetics for the USMLE Step 1 on the market - so, it doesn't have any contender for such a heavily tested subject as genetics (USMLE Road Map: Genetics is going to be released soon - USMLE Road Map: Genetics (USMLE Road Map Series)). Still, this book is excellent - comprehensive, yet - concise text and numerous full-color illustrations. Highly recommended - indispensable for the boards!

Forget about "USMLE Road Map: Histology", "Rapid Review: Histology and Cell Biology ", "BRS Cell Biology and Histology" and "High-Yield Histopathology" - this book is much better and all you need for the coursework and for the USMLE step 1!
Actually, on the boards there are no histology MCQs - still, you need to know histology in order understand pathology (when you are a beginner) and (what's much more important, when you are preparing for the USMLE Step 1) to learn how to "read" microsopic slides of pathology - this will be heavily tested on boards.
This board-oriented book serves both these purposes very well - unlike all above mentioned reviews of histology, it's virtually packed with gorgeous and very helpful full color illustrations - relevant explanations are kept as concise and to-the-point, as possible.
Also, there is just the right number of integrations with other basic subjects, which, being very relevant, don't distract you from the main subject - unlike that in "High-Yield Histopathology".
With this book you'll not only excell on the boards, but master histology and cell biology as well!

This book follows my course word for word since my professor is Dr. King. It is very helpful for learning pathology and includes background info in immuno, endo, biochem, physio and histology for anyone who doesn't have a strong background in those subjects.

I think, this book is better than other reviews of physiology for the USMLE step 1 (for example, "BRS Physiology", "USMLE Road Map: Physiology", and "Rapid Review: Physiology") - it's much better illustrated, focuses only on the most relevant topics, and, at the same time, nothing, what is high yield, is missing here. The author - Dr. Carroll - is the man, who creates physiology MCQs for the USMLE step 1, so, I guess, he knows exactly, what material will be tested on the actual exam - and, I hope, he has presented what he knows in his book. One word of caution only - "Elsevier's Integrated Physiology" doesn't contain neurophysiology - Elsevier's Integrated series has a separate title for neuroanatomy and neurophysiology - "Elsevier's Integrated Neuroscience".
