Mr. Venditto guides you through the maze of resources available at AOL (stock quotes, financial news, mortgage and real estate services, bulletin boards, forums) as well as those available on the Internet (the Web, mailing lists, chat rooms, etc.). This is a great book! Although AOL as of this week, no longer offers the PP3 program sited in "Creating Cool Web Pages", this book has GREAT advice and info on using the World Wide Web -- especially GREAT TIPS in designing GREAT WEB PAGES, and excellent advice on how to attract visitors to your web site, and keep them coming back! (Look for other computer books by this author, too!!!)

Plenty of genealogy titles are written with adult searchers in mind, but few provide the middle school child with tips on how to trace a family ancestry. Start a family tree easily with Nancy Shepherdson's Ancestor Hunt: Finding Your Family Online, which begins with online Internet basics on how to search web sites, uncover links, and analyze information for accuracy. Hints tell how to avoid common research mistakes, with chapters blending charts and black and white illustrations with a dose of humor.

This review is not really a review. I just wanted to add a note about MAX LUCADO. I have read a few of his books and they all seem to in line with the scriptures. So, if your looking for an elevated knowledge of the scriptures, try his books.

I just started reading this book this weekend and I have been very happy so far. It's on a topic that almost nothing has been written about, and importantly it is CURRENT © 2006! So much of what little is out there is too old.

Prior to this book I had read `Analysis of Panel Data' by Cheng Hsiao, Andrew Chesher, Matthew Jackson but that book was more academic, and dealt more with traditional panels, and `longitudinal panels' (data that follows a given sample of individuals over time).

Andrei Postoaca's book on the other hand is more relevant for the other 95% of research, which is more often than not conducted Online these days with dynamic panels. Andrei is clear and honest and covers important issues from sample quality to costs/margins.

The book definitely deserves to be included in the serious marketing researchers library.

Trevor Rowe's experiences as a house/pet-sitter - a relaxed (sometimes!) third career after long and rewarding years in the RAF and subsequent business adventures that I suspect drew heavily on those heady days - make marvellous light reading. This is the book for the short-haul airline traveller. It is one for the busy soul who can only afford perhaps an hour at a time - a book that can be picked up and put down without spoiling its pleasure. It is not a `page-turner', nor a saga the reader sinks into and can't bear to put down. It needs to be savoured - perhaps revisited from time to time. It is definitely one for that bookshelf of favourites.
The author has that light touch of the gifted raconteur, a style that is conversational and spiced with often mischievous humour. His stories are alive with the good clean fun that dog-lovers especially will appreciate. They will smile, laugh aloud and - yes - weep the odd tear as they recognise the antics of their own much-loved animals and the joys and sadnesses of being a pet owner. Some of the tales are hilarious, some slightly scary, while some of the yarns thrown in to add a little spice are definitely hoary with age, but nevertheless still good for a laugh on this trip down memory lane.
At times, Trevor's descriptions of his temporary surroundings border on the lyrical, tempting readers to go and see for themselves the gentle beauty of the Ashdown Forest and Downs of Western Kent, the magnificent scenery of the Yorkshire Dales and - if that weren't enough - the glories of sunsets in the Florida everglades.
This is a book to relish and enjoy. It is a delightful read and I heartily recommend it.

Attractively bound and well organized, this book provides an excellent treatise on bridge for beginners and will help intermediate players deepen their understanding of the game. Mr. Wokes obviously has a rich understanding of the principles advanced bridge, and communicates these succintly and with a teacher's deft clarity. This would be an excellent textbook for a bridge class.

I purchased this book for my mother, who at 77, is just getting familiar with a computer. This book guides the beginner through each step of AOL, making heavy use of screen pictures (two on every page!), with brief explanations for each action at each step.

You are guided, step-by-step through the basic facets of AOL, including AOL usage & navigation basics, management of the account, basic internet usage, communicating with AOL (Email, chat, instant messager), and personalizing AOL. It does not go into detail on the content associated with the various "Channels" - but I feel that is for the user to explore.

This book is excellent for the raw beginner. The screen examples point out which buttons to push and the results of those actions. It will save me several hours setting down and guiding my mother in the use of AOL.

This book is fantastic. When I first got AOL I had so many questions about e-mail and such and this answered all of them. It's in simple language too so that even I, a 12 year old can read it.
