This book is part of the Galaxy series of books, which looks at various astronomical objects (everything from Earth and the Solar System to distant stars). Written for young readers (ages 4-8), this book has lots of bright pictures, and easy to understand text, all of which give the reader a nice introduction to the planet Mars. Now, having been published in 1999, this book is slightly out of date, but it's more that there is more that could be put into the book, rather than any of the information is wrong.
As an added bonus, this book ends with a hands-on project - making Martian soil! Overall, I found this to be a very nice book, and a great introduction for the young reader. If you have an aspiring astronaut or astronomer in your home, then you would be well advised to get him or her this book! I highly recommend it.

She is being chased by The Creatures from Beyond the Sun.The adventures and dangers that this takes the mice and the cat into are both thrilling and hilarious. It will make you want to read the other 'Matchless Mice' books. Great stuff for all ages

I bought "Math Trek 2" sight unseen because we'd read "Math Trek 1" from our local public library, but the library didn't have the second book in the series. While you probably should read "Math Trek 1" first, "Math Trek 2" is even better! I generally expect a sequel to be *almost* as good, so this was a surprise.
I read "Math Trek 2" aloud, as bedtime reading, to my nine-year-old, who enjoyed it very much, and even proved how closely he'd been paying attention by surprising his teacher with a novel, different answer to a series question she'd posed the class, and then explaining his answer so the whole class could understand it.
As an adult, I very much enjoyed such tidbits as *why* the five Platonic solids are called that, and what they meant to Plato. Reading these books is as much fun for me as it is for my child.
The book is marked "Young Adult", but should be entertaining and informative to a wide range of ages. My nine-year-old would not have read it on his own if I had just left it around, though; younger kids probably need an adult's involvement.

If you thought all agents were cool and smart like James Bond or stupid and idiotic like Johnny English, think again! This new book is about the life of a sarcastic and modern agent: Max Remy.Max Remy is a rich kid and lives in her mother's posh city apartment. Her mother is a lot to do with famous personalities in Australia and Max's house is rather beautiful and modern.Max Remy's workoholic mum will be busy during the school holidays so Max Remy is sent to her uncle and aunt's farmhhouse in the Mindawarra. She meets up with her country relatives who she dislikes from first sight and wild boy Linden, until she finds out that her uncle and aunt are famous scientists and are working on a famous space and time machine!Max soon grows attached to her uncle and aunt and soon finds out that her uncle is still sad due to a argument he had 10 years ago with his elder brother, who was also a scientist.Max is determined to find her uncles's brother in London and bring him to Australia to see how sad he is without him using her uncle's time and space machine.Max and Linden go on a search to find her uncle's brother, but during the way they meet a beautiful university colleague who had been drawn down to become a lab assistant by an evil and unstoppable man, Mr Blue.Mr Blue wants to take over the world with the space and time machine and kidnap the two children, knowing that they have it.The two children wake up finding themselves in Blue's Industry. But when they meet Mr Blue they find themselves being lowered into a pit of jelly. Will they survive?

The Maze Stone has been a favourite book of mine since I was quite young. It is a memerable story, one that no person can ever forget, and which will take the imagination to different levels. Fanny is a a girl who has been heartbroken by the recent loss of her grandmother, who has raised her since her mothers death. She is to now live with her father, step-mother, and step-sister Heather in a new housing estate. Because of her sadness and unfamiliarity of her surroundings, Fanny withdraws into herself, rejecting her new family, and spends most of her time alone on top of the big hill that shadows their house. It is a mysterious hill that contains the ruins of an ancient stone circle. Her new house was once part of of much bigger house that contained a mystery that was lost through the ages, until now. A young man dissapeared in that house many years ago, as Fanny soon found out at a display at the local library. And it was uncanny how similar his picture looked to the new English teacher at school that Heather had a crush on.
After finding a strange round stone with a maze design on while digging in the garden, Fanny decides, for some strange reason, to hide it away in her room. But during the next few weeks the design seems to pop up everywhere; on a stone on top of the hill, on one of the old stones in her fireplace, and even on a pendant worn by the strange new English teacher.
The book becomes more and more exciting with every new mystery that Fanny uncovers, and the ending is by no means predictable with Fanny and Heather facing off with the most evil beings imaginable, and finally forgetting their differences and becoming true sisters. I would recommend this book to any child or teenager that has an imagination that likes to wander, or who has had hardships moving to a new area.

I love the book. I bought it 3 years ago and my son has 5 and a half years old and he still plays with it and it only broke one tiny piece. It arrived on time.
