This book is about an attempted murder. Nancy Drew, a detective, is going to her friend's, Angela's, wedding.Angela is a fashion designer and a very rich girl, although she is only eighteen. When she turns twenty-one, she will inherit a huge fortune. Her father died and after that, her mother remarried to his business partner, Howard. Nancy soon discovers that someone is trying to harm Angela. Rafe, Angela's husband-to-be, has an old girlfriend who still loves him. Suddenly, rumors and hints of scandal are heard among everyone. Angela becomes upset and decides to call off the wedding, believing that Rafe still loves Shanon. But this mystery deepens when Shanon's body is found laying on the pier! Someone has attempted in murdering her! Nancy soon discovers that Angela not Shanon, war who the culprit really wanted to murder! But who would do such a terrible deed and why? Well you're going to have to read this book to find out!
I thought this book was great because it has a fabulous plot and the ending was terrific. The author used descriptive words so that each scene was playing along in my mind.
This is one of my favorite quotes: At the sight of her, Howard staggered backward and sank into the nearest chair. "Angela," he whispered tensely. This quote is on page 93. This is another one of my favorite quotes from this book: "On a moonless night, it would be impossible to tell them apart. What if that's what happened? What if whoever attacked her made a mistake, and it was Angela, not Shanon, who was supposed to be the victim?" This quote is on page 104. I like these quotes because they are a very important clue to the story.
My favorite part of this book was when Nancy realized that the victim to attempted murder wasn't Shanon, but Angela. I liked this part because it gave me a whole new perspective to the story. The author made it sound like Shanon was the culprit in trying to harm Angela, but now that she was the victim to the murder attempt, she couldn't have been the culprit.

I thought that this book was good and bad. It was good because it always kept me on the edge of my seat. That always makes me want to keep reading .Another reason I like that story is because it gave me goose bumps. One bad thing was that I didn't like was that the stories ended abruptly. I really like endings that have meaning. I think that you will like this book is you like ghost stories.

Dangerous Loves. Family friend James Jackson has been blackmailed for his secret past, and Nancy has to find the clues to solve the mystery. Snakes in rose boxes, cut brake lines, and kidnapping make this book exciting and thrilling-one I couldn't put down. Great rewritten Nancy Drew seriesReview Date: 2006-03-04
In False Notes Nancy is in a psychic store and sees two African American married people fighting on the street. And all of a sudden the story turns into Nancy walking around with her friends at 10:00 pm looking for the African American couple's daughter.
I recommend this book for people age 8 and up who adore mysteries.

katherine's reviewReview Date: 2004-10-07
The story is about a teenaged girl named Nancy, her friend Bess and Bess's cousin George, who is also a girl but is a "tom boy" so they call her George instead of Georgia, her real name. When Heather Simmons and Morris Granger are running for mayor, Heather's daughter, Leslie, who is a great piano player, disappears before her huge recital which she would never, ever miss. When Nancy finds out, she's onto the case in no time! Bess and George know better than to let their friend go too wild so they decide to help Nancy so Nancy won't be alone. When Nancy is on a case she goes crazy so Bess and George are also there to keep both eyes on her! Leslie, they think, was kidnapped by Morris Granger so she would be so distracted that Heather would forget all about running for mayor. Little do they know that they are wrong. Who would want to kidnap Leslie and why?
If you've ever read the Sammy Key's book or just a great mystery book that wasn't hard to read, then I think this book will mostly appeal to you! So I hope you'll read this book and enjoy it like I did!
Everything old is new againReview Date: 2004-03-20
I have some reservations about the first person narrative. And it is VERY annoying that George is a nickname for "Georgia" when the originals stated that George was named George because her dad wanted a son. Making Bess a gearhead is also stretching things a bit but these are minor irritations.
It's nice to see good old reliable Ned back and to have a Nancy who is not perfect. Trixie Belden (thankfully also getting a new lease on life) was always lovable because she was flawed.
Some of the vocabulary in the new Drews seems to be lifted from the 50s versions but I would rather see Nancy err on the side of grammar than be forced to hear her use gangsta flavored words.
In short, this series was touted as updating Nancy and making her edgy. The edge is a delightful surprise- she's back to how she was when the series was at its peak. No sex, no messy romance, just an icon solving formulaic mysteries in a way that will hopefully delight new generations of readers.

Serious food for thought, AND laugh-out-loud humor!Review Date: 2000-11-11
But the book is not at all a "heavy read." Ms Caprio has a deft touch with humor. She regularly sneaks in some sly (but affectionate) digs at Nancy that will have you laughing out loud!
Admirably, Ms Caprio has provided lots of visual illustrations in the book -- well-remembered Nancy Drew illustrations, as well as specially commissioned art.
I'm tempted to buy a stack of these to give to friends!

Nancy Must Find the Stolen MoneyReview Date: 2004-06-23
Having really enjoyed the first book of these relaunches, I decided to give the second a try. Again, I enjoyed the characterizations. This time, I felt the plot was lacking more then the first book. Maybe it's because I'm older then the target audience, but I found the dual plots rather obvious. And the bike ride made little to no sense, especially the race aspect of things.
Over all, I think young kids will enjoy these books, but the lack of decent mysteries will make older kids pass on them for the originals.
