When I first saw a Nancy Drew Book, I wasn't even sure if I would enjoy reading it. That was in sixth grade. Now as a Junior in college I still continue to purchase and read the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boy Super Mysterys. The first one I ever read was Shock Waves. To this day it is my favorite. It is the book that began my intrest in the series. I highly recommend it to anyone and I hope they enjoy it as much as I have.

I think the best part was when Iola's keys were stolen, and how Joe reacted. It was great because he'll never forget her, no matter how many girlfriends he has. I loved this one.

This is definitely the best book in the Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys series... :) Don't listen to anybody if they say it stunk, becuz it is really good! It has alot of Nancy/Frank stuff, and has TONS of action... I don't think you could get any more action in a book. I have read this book 4 times, and I still don't get tired of reading it! :) The thing that makes it really good is the close calls... and this book has ALOT of them! If you like a very suspenseful book, this is the one for you.

This book is about an attempted murder. Nancy Drew, a detective, is going to her friend's, Angela's, wedding.Angela is a fashion designer and a very rich girl, although she is only eighteen. When she turns twenty-one, she will inherit a huge fortune. Her father died and after that, her mother remarried to his business partner, Howard. Nancy soon discovers that someone is trying to harm Angela. Rafe, Angela's husband-to-be, has an old girlfriend who still loves him. Suddenly, rumors and hints of scandal are heard among everyone. Angela becomes upset and decides to call off the wedding, believing that Rafe still loves Shanon. But this mystery deepens when Shanon's body is found laying on the pier! Someone has attempted in murdering her! Nancy soon discovers that Angela not Shanon, war who the culprit really wanted to murder! But who would do such a terrible deed and why? Well you're going to have to read this book to find out!

I thought this book was great because it has a fabulous plot and the ending was terrific. The author used descriptive words so that each scene was playing along in my mind.

This is one of my favorite quotes: At the sight of her, Howard staggered backward and sank into the nearest chair. "Angela," he whispered tensely. This quote is on page 93. This is another one of my favorite quotes from this book: "On a moonless night, it would be impossible to tell them apart. What if that's what happened? What if whoever attacked her made a mistake, and it was Angela, not Shanon, who was supposed to be the victim?" This quote is on page 104. I like these quotes because they are a very important clue to the story.

My favorite part of this book was when Nancy realized that the victim to attempted murder wasn't Shanon, but Angela. I liked this part because it gave me a whole new perspective to the story. The author made it sound like Shanon was the culprit in trying to harm Angela, but now that she was the victim to the murder attempt, she couldn't have been the culprit.

A great book with a lot of SUSPENSE!!

The book Betrayed by Love is an excellent thriller with an unexpeted twist. You have no idea who is the culprit with a heart of ice. At first you have good reason to believe that Rapheal's, Angela's fiance, ex, Shanon, is behind the harrassment and atempted murder due to jelousy. But when confronted, she genuonly has no idea what her bloved last boyfriend, Angela Chamberman, Ned Nickerson, Nancy's boyfriend, and Nancy Drew are referring to. Next possible culprit? it appears as if Shanon's new boyfriend wanted her to love him more than Rafe. Glenn Mcinnes is treated like human-garbage by Shannon and still adores her! Mr. McInnes seems like a pretty innocent guy. Or is he? At the denoumont, the most suspensful time of the novel, a peculiar twist occurs and you are at the edge of your seat. You say,"Yeah, right!"? How about when she knocks the bad guy/girl unconcious and when he/she awakens they drive the automobile off of the cliff? Pretty thrilling isn't it? Yeah, overall I'd call this a page-turner, like all the Nancy Drew mysteries. Keene is such a splendid author.

I loved this book!

This book is a series of ghost stories. The stories are all about some animal/human that dies and haunts whoever killed him or her. My personal favorite was The Ghost of Whispering Oaks. This story is about dogs that had a good life. Then everything went bad when the owners died over time. Later the dogs died over not having enough water or of hunger. Now they haunt anyone that comes near the barn even the new owners.

I thought that this book was good and bad. It was good because it always kept me on the edge of my seat. That always makes me want to keep reading .Another reason I like that story is because it gave me goose bumps. One bad thing was that I didn't like was that the stories ended abruptly. I really like endings that have meaning. I think that you will like this book is you like ghost stories.

If you enjoy reading or telling scary stories here is the book you are looking for. This book contains six stories that are so scary they will send chills up your back. If just telling you these are "ghost stories" doesn't do anything for you let me tell you the titles of these bone-rattling tales: 1)The Campus Ghost 2)The Ghost Dogs of Whispering Oaks 3)Blackbeard's Skull 4)The Ghost Jogger 5)The Curse of the Frog 6)The Greenhouse Ghost Well, if the titles of these stories don't move you to read this book, then all I can say is that this is one of the best books I have ever read. You don't have to take my word for it, all you have to do is read this extraordinary book!

I think this is a great book and should be read by every mystery fan. When the rock star was found missing before the concert, Roger told Nancy that he wouldn't leave before this concert because he been waiting for it for a long time. Nancy went right on the case and the next thing she knew she was being knocked out! My favorite part was near the end when Nancy figured out where Bess, and Bart?, were being held. Of course if you want to find out where YOU'RE going to have to read the book.

It will make you think twice about the music industry.

This Nancy Drew case was a trip to New York to see a rock group,Bent Fender, live in concert. On this trip Nancy takes along George, Bess and Alan (Alan is Bess boyfriend) all four are BIG fans. Some of them are more than others. Just before the gang gets to see Bent Fender perform the groups lead guitarist Barton disappears. The strangest thing is the whole reason the group is performing is because of the fundraiser Barton put together. Why would he disappear just before a charity he put together? Was it a set up? Theres only one way to find out, read this book. You will learn so many new things about the music business that you never knew before. I learned that stardom will make anyone go crazy and it will change them. I also now know that pirating is a major crime that any recording artist can commit (and eventually get caught). On the other hand I also picked up that musicians have just as hard a life as any ordinary person. It's tough being famous. At times I think they have more problems then the people I know do. It is a good book about musicians and friendships.

Nancy has another case on her hands!

When Nancy gets backstage tickets for her and her friends to meet Bent Fender, she's delighted. But minutes before the concert the lead guitarist, Barton Novak, goes missing. Now Nancy's trying to find him. She's still trying to patch things up with Ned after her last case, and her father may be involved with a suspect. Things get more serious when Bess disappears, and Nancy suspects Alan, Bess's boyfriend, of being involved with the kidnappers. Nancy's been warned to stay off the case, but she's going to find Bess and Barton, no matter what. Another classic Nancy Drew!

Nancy's in Chicago to cheer the Emerson College basketball team and Ned, her longtime boyfriend. But she can't believe her eyes. Has Ned saved his slickest moves for after the game? Is he really making a pass at a cheerleader named Denise Mason? I won't tell ya.
But the mystery takes an even more serious twist when Denise is kidnapped and Nancy is afraid if she solves the case she will bring them back together and lose Ned altogether. Does she? You'll just have to read the book to find out.

Nancy Drew is an exciting book series. My favorite book is False Notes. What's great about it is that the authors rewrote the original story series in between 2005 and 2006. Although Nancy Drew's personality is amazing, aggressive and, yet a little mean. She could be nice on occasion, but she looks out for the people in River Heights.

In False Notes Nancy is in a psychic store and sees two African American married people fighting on the street. And all of a sudden the story turns into Nancy walking around with her friends at 10:00 pm looking for the African American couple's daughter.

I recommend this book for people age 8 and up who adore mysteries.

I liked the book Nancy Drew: Girl Detective because it was a mystery, one my personal favorite genres. I like how the author has you thinking it's one person, almost positive it's them when you suddenly find out it's not him/her! I like Nancy because she reminds of Sammy Keys who is also a girl detective, but Sammy Keys is around the age of twelve and thirteen. Nancy Drew is around the ages of sixteen, seventeen and eighteen.

The story is about a teenaged girl named Nancy, her friend Bess and Bess's cousin George, who is also a girl but is a "tom boy" so they call her George instead of Georgia, her real name. When Heather Simmons and Morris Granger are running for mayor, Heather's daughter, Leslie, who is a great piano player, disappears before her huge recital which she would never, ever miss. When Nancy finds out, she's onto the case in no time! Bess and George know better than to let their friend go too wild so they decide to help Nancy so Nancy won't be alone. When Nancy is on a case she goes crazy so Bess and George are also there to keep both eyes on her! Leslie, they think, was kidnapped by Morris Granger so she would be so distracted that Heather would forget all about running for mayor. Little do they know that they are wrong. Who would want to kidnap Leslie and why?

If you've ever read the Sammy Key's book or just a great mystery book that wasn't hard to read, then I think this book will mostly appeal to you! So I hope you'll read this book and enjoy it like I did!

I picked this book up with some trepidation. Nancy has survived many things over the years- the rewrites, the move to Simon & Schuster (who seemed determined to burn her out to make short term money) the DREADFUL college series, the soft core Casefiles-and it's nice to see she's back to being as close to Mildred Wirt Benson's Nancy as one could hope.

I have some reservations about the first person narrative. And it is VERY annoying that George is a nickname for "Georgia" when the originals stated that George was named George because her dad wanted a son. Making Bess a gearhead is also stretching things a bit but these are minor irritations.

It's nice to see good old reliable Ned back and to have a Nancy who is not perfect. Trixie Belden (thankfully also getting a new lease on life) was always lovable because she was flawed.

Some of the vocabulary in the new Drews seems to be lifted from the 50s versions but I would rather see Nancy err on the side of grammar than be forced to hear her use gangsta flavored words.

In short, this series was touted as updating Nancy and making her edgy. The edge is a delightful surprise- she's back to how she was when the series was at its peak. No sex, no messy romance, just an icon solving formulaic mysteries in a way that will hopefully delight new generations of readers.

This book was well thought to me. I have read Nancy Drews, although she does not do anything that is not perfect, and excells at everything, which us unrealistic. I always though she would be more of a role model if she wasn't number one at everything, and had real problems with life, showing girls maybe how to deal on their own too. But anyway, I liked this because it was well thought out, and the title even maybe negative, may in one way have a point. The book is good, but you decide on Nancy Drew.

Portions of this book are quite entertaining - especially for real Nancy Drew aficianados. I especially liked the map of River Heights and the surrounding areas. I grew up reading Nancy and now am an avid collector. I must say that the application of psychology to Nancy Drew is probably unwise. Nancy is a character. Too much analysis leaves young readers less capable of picturing their own personal Nancy. Much of the analysis is negative, which defeats the purpose of Nancy Drew. Nancy serves to prove to young girls that there is a heroine out there with spunk, courage, kindness and true goodness - someone they can aspire to be like. It isn't relevant that her perfection is unattainable. If she were realistically flawed she would not be the heroine and role model that she has become to so many. I almost felt disloyal to Nancy for reading some of the criticism. Furthermore, Nancy Drew books are entertaining. Without the bad guys, Nancy would serve no relevant purpose. I don't think her mysteries emphasize violence at all. In fact, you will notice that none of her captors ever really harms her. She gets a good fright but there are few references to guns or knives. It is good old fashioned smarts that wins Nany her cases - not knock 'em down gun fights.

Serious food for thought, AND laugh-out-loud humor!

As an earlier reviewer noted, Caprio does a superb job of making Jungian concepts comprehensible and relevant for the layperson how has not read all of Jung's works. She skillfully applies Jungian analysis to Nancy Drew, not so that we might understand Nancy better, but so that we will ultimately undertand ourselves better.

But the book is not at all a "heavy read." Ms Caprio has a deft touch with humor. She regularly sneaks in some sly (but affectionate) digs at Nancy that will have you laughing out loud!

Admirably, Ms Caprio has provided lots of visual illustrations in the book -- well-remembered Nancy Drew illustrations, as well as specially commissioned art.

I'm tempted to buy a stack of these to give to friends!

Applying Jung's archetype psychology becomes clear after reading Caprio's explanation. The best layman book on the subject I have ever read. I have given it to friends because I enjoyed it so much. They also greeted the excellent information with appreciation for the clarity it brings to the study of archetypes. It was Great! I hope Caprio researches more archetypes and publishes more soon.

Nancy Drew....A Race Against Time is an exciting book that kept me at the edge of my seat with every single word that I read. Especially with the part where all the catastrophes started happening, when I say that I mean when all the food poisioning and broken genators started to occur. River Heights is a buzz. It's the annual Biking for Bucks charity race. This is a big event in the city and Nancy and her friends are excited to be part of the two day event. But that's before someone lets Ned's car roll into a creek and lets the air out of their bike tires. But the worst is that the money pledged has been stolen. Now Nancy needs to track down the missing money before the rest of the town finds out that the money is missing.

Having really enjoyed the first book of these relaunches, I decided to give the second a try. Again, I enjoyed the characterizations. This time, I felt the plot was lacking more then the first book. Maybe it's because I'm older then the target audience, but I found the dual plots rather obvious. And the bike ride made little to no sense, especially the race aspect of things.

Over all, I think young kids will enjoy these books, but the lack of decent mysteries will make older kids pass on them for the originals.

When I saw this in my local bookstore I had to have it. It includes a very nice mix of covers from the various Nancy Drew eras and the color clarity is terrific. This will make a wonderful addition to my collection. --Karen P., author, Nancy Drew Scrapbook

I just received this and all I can say is that they are sturdy, post-card size magnets with covers from some of her most well-known classic books. I did notice that there was a duplicate in there, which I am assuming must be a mistake. It was a little hard to take off but I started from the middle, so that could be why. I now have one on my fridge and I am glad I bought it. It's a fun memento.

A MUST for fans of Nancy Drew!

These are so awesome that I bought them only to find out that I could not make myself mail them out to people. I ended up keeping them all for myself!

Each card is the perfect replica of one of the early original Nancy Drew books that I grew up with.

Perfect as a gift for a young one who is currently reading Nancy Drew or for adults who treasured each story as they hit the book shelves. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Fun but not perfect

This magnetic postcard book that replicates classic Nancy Drew book covers is a fun item, but it is difficult to remove the postcards from the book without bending or tearing them. The magnets work but are not particularly strong, which is OK if you just want them to display for fun. But be very careful taking them out of the book so you don't ruin them.
