I referred to this book often in a Migrant Head Start Program. The kids love the activities, and so do the adults!

The creativity of each activity is amazing. They are organized on a day-by-day basis, corresponding to the different seasons. For example, in fall kids are painting with leaves, watching birds fly south, and creating projects with apples; in spring, they observe green life under the snow and plant seeds which they can tend into fall. It is the perfect book with which to cultivate a life-long love for nature in children living in a world of rapid environmental change.

I bought this book when my daughter was in first grade and find myself using it on a regular basis. There are activity suggestions for every day of the year to help you and your kids learn more about nature, together! There are also games to play and suggestions for stories and poems to read. I find that the ideas are easily adaptable to each child and a great reference for the times when your child says "mom, I'm bored". An all-around great book for parents who want to teach their children a greater appreciation for nature and the world around them. I learned a lot, too!

This book is written in a calendar format, encouraging readers to engage in nature activities appropriate for that time of year (in a seasonal climate). My children and I found ourselves occupied with listening for spring peepers in March, sowing sunflower seeds in June, making leaf tracings in October and pinecone birdfeeders in January. Far from the usual stuff however, this book is also packed with great nature facts, activities and games that I've never seen anywhere else.
Excellent resource for families interested in going a few steps beyond to really learn about the natural world; also excellent for classrooms, scout troops and the like for kid-friendly ideas and activities which appeal to a wide span of ages.

I LOVE the whole Frencolian Chronicles Series, but especialy this book, the story line was great. I felt like I was a part of the story throughout all of them. I was really disapointed not to find another book in the series- the third book gave me the impression that there might be another. Altogether, the whole series was great!

Oolong travels to the Grumpies' village to get a delicacy for his mother.

He encounters a man who offers advice and teaches him like no other.

You must offer help, without thought of pay

Show kindness to others and be on your way.

This message Oolong tried to spread,

wherever his search for pickled palmadora led.

And he was surprised on laughing day

At all the grumps who came to play.

Armchair Interview says: Written in both English and Spanish the delightful book teaches a valuable lesson for children and adults.

This is Amy Laundrie's fourth novel in the Kayla Montgomery Mystery series, and she again combines elements young girls look for---mystery, romance, and horses. Ms. Laundrie clearly knows the horse world well. Her writing also shines with lovely details when her characters are out in the natural world. And readers will appreciate the unusual twists in the story, such as a crisis in a reptile museum!

If you love horses and romance, this book is for you!

I read the LEFT BEHIND The Kids series for most of Spring 2000 and I loved them. I stopped at 4 because I kind of lost interest. But in October 2000 I got the first edition of the Drama cassettes. And this year I got the second edition. I am listening to it as I type this review and I will never stop listening. I will buy the 3rd very very soon. Anyway, if you are between the ages of 9 and 15 BUY THEM NOW! The CDs are better because of the enhanced stereo quality. Sounds pass around you, dialogue is heard from different directions, its awesome!

I love how they didn't decide to release a read version, but they released a "LIVE ACTION AUDIO DRAMATIZATION" of the kids books. I am a fan of the first Left Behind (Adult) Live Action Audio (Listen with very enclosing surround sound headphones and you will be blown away by the great sound quality!). I have Left Behind The Kids audio #1 on cassette (the store didn't have the CD yet) and #2 on CD. They are all great. Each disc represents one book. Each release has 4 books. Get this audiobook! Buy them both! Hopefully a movie will come out.

I am really enjoying the Left Behind: The Kids Live-Action audio series. Well-acted and every episode has captured my attention. As an adult, one of the reasons which drew me to the audio series is because LaHaye and Jenkins intertwines the Left Behind universe and its characters together, so if you are reading or listening to the audio series of Left Behind, I highly recommend listening to the Left Behind: The Kids for a little bit more in-depth coverage of recurring characters.

In collection 2, the series continues with our four trying to promote the teaching of Christ at their school via the Underground Newspaper. This volume focuses introduction of new characters joining the team and much more with the help of Bruce and Buck.

Once you start on the series, you will be hooked! Adults of the "Left Behind" series and enjoying the audio series, I can't emphasize how exciting and also how much I recommend the "Left Behind: The Kids" series.

I am 10 years old and have been reading the "LEFT BEHIND KIDS"books since I was 8. I REALLY REALLY LOVE THEM and CAN'T WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE TO COME OUT !! I was SOO EXCITED to get the first "LEFT BEHIND: DRAMATIZED AUDIOBOOK " with books 1-4, and then it took forever for this 2nd one to come out. The first one is AWESOME, and this one is just as GREAT !
I have a couple of unsaved friends,I've told them how GREAT the books are, but they don't like to read, so they won't read them, even when I let them borrow mine. But when they come over, they really like listening to these alot, & they ask alot of questions. They keep asking me if the new/next one came out yet, 'cause they REALLY want to hear what's gonna happen !!
The actors are really SUPER GREAT & you feel like your right there! There is NOTHING as INCREDIBLE as THIS !I just can't WAIT until the next "LEFT BEHIND KIDS "audiobook comes out. I sure hope it's soon or I'll go CRAZY!

This is my second "Little Hands" book (the first one was The Little Hands Big Fun Craft Book: Creative Fun for 2- To 6-Year-Olds, which by the way is fantastic). The Little Hands Nature Book proved to be yet another way to make the most of my time with my little sister. We live in Southern California, where it is sometimes easy to not see nature at all, so we really enjoyed going to the local parks and doing the activities this wonderful book provides.

My sister had so much fun learning about nature and I had fun being with her and seeing her eyes light up. This "Little Hands" series is quickly becoming my favorite thing to share with her.

If you have a child in your life that you want to inspire, I'd suggest picking this little gem up. You will be amazed at how much wonder such a little book can inspire!

Based loosely on the Biblical book of Exodus, Holly Hannon's splendid illustrations perfectly showcase Sylvia Rouss The Littlest Frog and is a picturebook specifically meant for young ones ages 3-6. When the Pharaoh of Egypt refuses to let the Jewish slaves go, God sends a massive plague of frogs upon the land, croakng and croaking and allowing no one a moment's peace. The Pharaoh tries and tries to have all the frogs removed, but just when it seems they all gone, the littlest frog hiding silently under the Pharaoh's bed finds its voice and croaks! The Littlest Frog is a recommended and engaging tale with an underlying moral about theimportance of speaking up.

Hot off the press is The Littlest Frog, a rousing new Passover book by Sylvia Rouss and illustrated by Holly Hannon. In the Littlest Frog, Rouss, the well-known author of the Sammy Spider holiday series, raises her whimsical story telling to new heights. In the Passover story told in the Haggadah at the Seder, the ten plagues delivered to Pharoh and the Egyptians to "let my people go", were no laughing matter. But in this rhyming yarn, silly, fun-loving frogs lighten the load and create child-friendly mischief, driving the Pharoh crazy. Emerald green frogs appear to jump off the pages in the bright, joyful illustrations. They smile as they happily leap all over Pharoh and his palace. There are even frogs wearing sun glasses! The book follows the endearing Littlest Frog who observes the sadness of the Jewish slaves working while Pharoh had fun. Children relate to the Littlest Frog's feelings with the repeating refrain "But the Littlest Frog was very afraid. He hid under the bed, and that's where he stayed." Until the Littlest Frog shows the courage of Moses and rises to the occasion - putting the evil Pharoh in his place! Rouss and Hannon have created an upbeat and appealing book to match the spirit of freedom celebrated at Passover. It is a perfect choice for the spring season - but its appeal will attract children beyond Passover.

From the very talented pen of Sylvia Rouss, a creative and resourceful Jewish early childhood educator, comes this delightful Pesach story for children. Told in rhyme, the story focuses on the time that the Israelites were slaves in Egypt, and particularly on the plague of frogs during that time. "A little frog sat in the hot Egyptian sun,/ Watching Jewish slaves work, while Pharaoh had fun./ Moses, their leader, warned evil Pharaoh,/ `Bad things will happen if you don't let us go'/ I'm the great Pharaoh and nothing scares me!/ The Jewish people will stay! They'll never be free!"

The book describes the antics of the frogs and they hop all over the pharaoh's rooms, swim in his bath, and even sit on his throne, with the Pharaoh all the while chasing them with a broom: "There were frogs n the curtains and in the fruit bowls./ There were frogs peeking out from papyrus scrolls./ He saw frogs on the ceiling and frogs on the wall./ He saw frogs in each room and down every hall." But one frog - the littlest - is afraid of all the commotion and has hidden under the bed. The Pharaoh, feeling all powerful and fearless, is sure he has taken care of the frog problem. But the little frog eventually emerges from his hiding place, hops onto the Pharaoh and utters a loud croak, causing Pharaoh to have a change of heart. "Perhaps Moses was right, the Jews should be free./ Maybe that's why this is happening to me."

The colorful and action-packed illustrations ably convey the Pharaoh's frustration and captures the frogs' playfulness. A glossary at the beginning of the book is quite helpful in defining words that may be unknown to a child, such as scepter, papyrus, or hieroglyphics. A welcome addition to a home or school library and a highly relevant book for the Pesach Seder. Ages 3-7.

"Another Spring creature leaps from the story of Passover. The Littlest Frog frolics from the pen of Sylvia Rouss, known for her tales of Sammy Spider, as she makes the most of one of the least of the heroes in Exodus. Cheery rhymed couplets elaborate on Pharoah's exasperation when his refusal to let the Hebrews leave Egypt leads to a visitation by hordes of frogs, including one tiny, timid fellow. Vivid pictures by Holly Hannon, rich in royal purple, hop with action, and the little one's triumph." From Pages Spring Sampler

Lizzy's Lion is the most charming and delightful solution where little girl protects herself and dispels nighttime fears by inventing a guardian in the form of a closet cupboard lion.
With the very vivid childlike descriptions of how the lion disposes of a 'rotten robber' the reader is taken to the very logical conclusion.
I have read it to our many grandchildren who all love it and ask for it again and again while we all laugh and applaud Lizzy.

Lizzy's Lion may surprise adults at first with it's some what gross discription but it thrills children. It is fun to read!

This book is rhyming fun with it's musical sentences. Dennis Lee has captured a singy-song additude.

The pictures are characteristic of the award winning Marie-Louise Gay. Her pictures are busy and wild. Gay's children are depicted as cute but not perfectly pretty. She makes looking at illustrations fun.

As a fourth-year Spanish student, I couldn't resist taking a look at this book. I opened it up and immediately wished I had books like these when I was younger. On opposing pages are opposites or "los contrarios". The illustrations show colorful and cute bears that represent a word. At the top of the page is the word in english, and at the bottom the word in Spanish. Also at the bottom is a pronunciation of the word, in easy and understandable terms that a child can comprehend. In the back of the book is a list of the all the words with their pronunciation. This is definetly an effective and cute bilingual book I sure wish I had as a kid.
