The Book Review of: Until We Meet Again

Title: Until We Meet Again
By: Anne E. Schraff

I fell in love the first time I read Bluford series book and this was just another I wanted to read.

Summary: Darcy Wills is an average girl who goes to Bluford High School. Darcy is really book smart, but had a few personal issues. Darcy had a lot on her shoulders to deal with. Her grandma being sick, her dad leaving them: and her boyfriend moving to another state because his dad has cancer. How will Darcy's life change will it go for better and worse, will she find another guy. You'll just have to wait and read this book to see all the directions Darcy's life takes the good, bad, and ugly.

I think people of all ages would like this book especially older kids to teenagers and particularly teenage girls.

Setting: Darcy goes to Bluford High School and has personal issues. Darcy is African American with long hair and she's kind of shy. Where Darcy lives is sort of old and not so suburban. You an really relate to her relationship life. This story is narrated.

Ups: This book is so good because you can actually feel the emotions she experience. Like when she meets this new guy and starts to like him. Once you start you can't stop, this book is so good that once you start reading it you can't stop because its so good.
Downs: I wanted more to happen at the end but its okay because they had a sequel. I was upset that the book didn't continue but they picked it up with a sequence.

This book was liked because it was really good and I could relate really relate to it. I really recommend this book because I think you could relate also.

Until We Meet Again Until we meet again is about a girl named Darcy who goes to Bluford
High School and has amazing friends, and a boyfriend named Hakeem.
She lives with her mom, dad, grandmother, and her little sister.Hakeem's
dad is having problems with his back because he works with constuction
and he's an old man.So Hakeem's uncle says that he can have a job with him in Detroit. Now Hakeem may have to move.So he goes to school and
tells Darcy the bad news, she can't take the pain and forces him to live with his best friend, but he couldn't because family is more importanat. So he yells"THERES NOTHING I CAN DO" and so she starts to feel vulnerable,
tears start to come to her chocolate brown eyes. She gets this offer later to baby-sit and she took it because she thought it would keep Hakeem off her mind for a few days.Hakeem hasen't been answering his phone when Darcy tried to call. Then later in school she saw Hakeem and strolled over to him "hi Hakeem" she said but he didn't answer her "Hakeem" she said he turns around and looked at her and said "look i need to be alone I have alot on my mind". Darcy feels crushed and even further apart from Hakeem.
As Darcy starts to baby-sit Liselle's daughter she see's Brian, Liselle's younger brother and kinda likes him. When Darcy went back to school Hakeem came over to her table and said they need to talk after school. When the bell ranged at the last class Darcy sprinted straight to the parking lot and Hakeem said "Darcy we need to talk I don't think we shoulld see eachother anymore because I can't take the pain of caring for you and my dad so I think we need to take it slow and not see each other im sorry." so Darcy gets mad and starts crying and runs off.and gets a ride home from Brian. Later Brian asked Darcy did she want to go to the beach and he will bring her back home at 5:00 so yeah she went and he was saying how beautiful she was and she better around him.On the wednesday of the summer Darcy was at home with her sister Jamee and Jamee noticed the necklace that Brian gave her and said oooooh who gave you that Darcy said Brian. Then the doorbell ranged and it was Brian and he wanted to take Darcy to the park and she went. After the park he took her to the apartment and got dressed for work and when he was done he told Dacry he had a good time and kissed her. When she got home she heard a siren and when she got to the last step of her house the ambulance stopped at her house and said did you call an ambulance and Jamee said in here she wont wake up...Darcy's grandmother was ok in the hospital so she felt good then Brian called and asked did she want pizza she said yea she went to the apartment and the lights were dimmed. Then later he started kissing her pulling up her shirt she moved his hand "just relax" he said he started kissing her again and pulling up her shirt "STOP" she yelled he gripped her arms and she smacked him then he gripped her tight and she couldn't get out. Then Darcy's dad came and brought her food DADDY Darcy yelled he kicked the door open and started choking Brian and pushed him on the floor and him and darcy left. Liselle asked Darcy can she baby-sit but darcy said no. Later Darcy went in grandmas room and talked to her about how felt and cared for everyone and then Darcy's mom came in and hugged her and Darcy went to sleep in the morning mom called out "Carl, Girls". and grandma was laying in her bed smiling and her eyes were closed shut she was in a better place for good Darcy started to cry and the family hugged grandma and the birds sanged. At the funeral darcy got up and said what was on her mind and she saw Tarah, Cooper, and Brisanna. And she was happy to see them then when the funeral was over Darcy saw H akeem and hugged him and held his hand and walked down the sidewalk together and felt the start of a new familiar relationship.

At Bluford High the craziest things happen. In the book Until We Meet Again , there is a girl named Darcy that is a sophomore who falls in love. Now she is getting five years ago she never wanted to get close to another guy again. So this guy name Hakeem likes her and she likes him. So she starts getting closer to him and her feelings get in the way.

So for the first time in five years Darcy starts to put her trust in a boy.

Darcy also is having other problems. Her father has returned home, her friends Tarah and Brisania is fighting. So Darcy has a lot on her mind.

Now something else has hit Darcy hard and when I say hard I mean hard.
A person who she really loves is in danger for there life.

This is the only person though the years that has kept Darcy together and going.

Now if you like books that have a twist to every part then you will like this book.
So I suggest you read it because you will enjoy it because I sure did.

This book is a humorous way of explaining the eeks, creaks, squeaks, taps, raps, snaps, bumps, thumps, and clumps you here in the night. The three bears in this story are frightened by sounds of mice, spiders, and bugs getting ready for bed. Little do they know however that the noises they make frighten the little mice, spiders, and bugs just as much.

I've had this book since I was 4 years old and from that age, up until I was around 8, my mother read me this book every night before going to bed. I enjoyed it so much because it was such an amusing book and I loved the way the author emphasized the noises. Being 14 years old now, I treasure this book. I strongly suggest buying this for the young children in your life. They'll love it! I don't know of any kid who wouldn't.

My two year old son absolutely loves these books. I must admit that I was hesitant about then at first, being a Garth Williams purist and all, but they are well adapted and illustrated. I think that he mostly enjoys the illustrations at his age. Children of any age will enjoy them.

Winter Days in the Big Woods, an adaptation from the Little House on the Prarie classic series, will delight children and peak their interest in Pioneering life. The illustrations capture the attention and imagination of young children, whetting their appetite for more.

In this adaptation, kids get a glimpse into daily life of a close-knit family during Amrerica's pioneering days. Kids will learn about churning butter, baking bread and doing the general daily tasks to run a household and prepare for winter.

For anyone who has loved the original Laura Ingalls Wilder books, or even the television series years ago, this is a perfect introduction to the very young. My children have enjoyed these books for years and have now moved on to the books Wilder herself wrote. Put together, they've created fond, wholesome childhood memories for my children.

"Winter Days" is one of my favorite books in the "My First Little House Books" series, and one of my favorite books about autumn. The Ingalls family prepares for winter with time for the harvest and food storage. Mary and Laura participate in daily chores and entertain themselves with their rag dolls, paper dolls, and by using a thimble to draw on the frosted window. Beautiful illustrations bring Laura's log cabin world to life, and are an excellent starting point for discussing how life is different then it used to be, and how some things never change.

The Three Musketeers is a unique book. History and political events are woven into the plot of this clever book. I find the characters fasinating and feel like I already know these noble men. The loyalty of them is overwhemling. I am in the middle of Dumas's next book, "Twenty Years Later" and am enjoying it too.I have read many books, and this is one of my personal favorites.

The 3 Musketeers is one of the best books I have read. I'm an unemployed college student that picked up the book and couldn't put it down. I have read the Count of Monte-Cristo, which is also a great book, and at first thought the 3 Musketeers would be a childish tale, but it turned out to be a great writing style that Dumas uses to take create four characters that I now love. I recommend this book to anybody that likes adventure, action, romance or just great storytelling. I even read Twenty Years Later to see what happens to Aramis, Athos, Porthos, and d'Artagnan.

I believe the 3 muskateers has been one of the most interesting and intriguing books I have read. It felt like the pages went by so fast because I got so into the book. Not many books keep me up at night trying to stay awake to read the next chapter. I love the writing on Alexandre Dumas. He wrote the Count of Monte Cristo (a must read!). I read that a couple years ago and that is what inspired me to read the 3 muskateers. If anyone read the 3 muskateers and saw the part "all for one and one for all" - please email me. Either it's not in the book or I was reading too fast and missed it. I was very disapointed not to see it. :-)

A great tale!

The Three Musketeers is one of those stories you not only read, but consume. It is not for everyone. The wording is unique, the story action-adventure-romance, with a delicacy of character that reflects the times the author lived. It is, however, so worth the read. If you have never entered the world of Dumas, The Three Musketeers is a wonderful introduction. There is a reason this tale is a classic, re-told again and again. Read it and get acquinted with Athos, Porthos, Aramis, and D'Artagnan. I promise you that you will cheer for these four as they face the ever-present-ever-needed-bad guy. Do they win? I can't tell you, but I can say you will laugh, cry, and fall in love, and just maybe return like so many others.

I loved it!

I actualy only read it as a joke (I'm only 13). My friends and I were playing a triva game and I got a question about it. We laughed because I got it right even though I never read it. I bought it and was surprized at how good it was. It's not TOO hard to read, but you have to get used to the writing style. Anyway, read it, you'll love it.

One of Rushford's best books yet! A wonderful tale of an adopted child's search for her mother. Also very gently looks at both sides of the abortion issue along the way, and puts it back into proper perspective without condemning either side. Although written for youth, I recommend it for all women! Like all the other Jenny McGrady series books, this one will keep you guessing to the very exciting end.

This book is a must read for any young child- even an infant. The black and white pencil drawings are intricate and soft, and though my son is older, he was drawn right into the illustrations. The copy that we checked out came with an audiotape, with accompanying music which is printed in the book on the last page, with the words. The book itself it very rhythmical and lends itself to be sung by a child even without the music. I found a few grammatical (punctuation) errors (Scholastic 1990 edition), which tripped me up as I read along, but not having another printing to compare to, I didn't let that determine the star quality of this book. I can almost remember it being read to me as a child, and I would read it to anyone who would sit and listen.

What a lovely book for young children. ABC Bunny creatively displays the alphabet in story form. In the little bunny's many encounters with other critters it lays the groundwork for a great nature study. There is a cute little song for children who like to sing as well as be read to! The illustrations are enticing and full of action. Written in a very original way to introduce the alphabet to young children, I hope that this book will soon be back in print so that we can continue to share it with others.

My boys loved it and my preschool boys page through it everyday! It is also a great springboard to the other great Curious George books.

After reading the original 5 or 6 Curious George stories to my 2 year old son about a hundred times, it is refreshing to see some new adventures. We just picked up this book today after going to the dump and my son just loves it. The spirit of the original stories is still there while the artwork is slightly more crisp and detailed. I look forward to reading the other new stories!

My 3 year old loves Curious George books and all kinds of heavy equipment so combining the two means it's one of his favorite books, and just like George he is always curious especially about George and why he is doing what he is doing. In our house both my 3 year old and 17 month old would sooner read about Curious George than watch tv.

Where do they get the names for these albums? It's a great name and it contains many, many good episodes. We also get to meet Dr. Blackgaard in this album, which may be the highlight of it.

"Daring Deeds, Sinister Schemes" contains a mini-series in itself, which build a foundation for the ultimeate album, "Darkness Before Dawn" (#25) There are also several other stories that lead up to the awesome episode, "Waylaid in the Windy City" This album is definitly worth buying!

This set of six tapes (12 episodes) contains the original Dr. Blackgaard story line. Not all are related to that story arch, however.

It starts with the first IMAGINATION STATION adventure, in which Digger Digger Digwillow goes back in time to experience the death and resurrection of Christ. I'm now 26, have heard the program multiple times, and this simple two parter still moves me to tears.

Other non-Blackgaard episodes include the classic Barclay family vacation in Odyssey (OUR BEST VACATION EVER) and the introduction of Wonderworld in the hilarious HEATWAVE.

The other episodes all revolve around the initial Blackgaard arch. They include A BITE OF APPLESAUCE, EUGENE'S DILEMMA, CONNIE GOES TO CAMP, THE NEMESIS, and THE BATTLE. These last three are two parters. As a whole, these make a great story, but are even more interesting when listened to in relation to later Blackgaard episodes. The summer they first aired, they kept my brother and I glued to the radio wondering what would happen next.

I highly recommend this great collection. It's radio drama at its best: good story telling and great characters.

I haven't been able to get my hands on the first Alfred Kropp book yet but after having read this book, I definitely will. This book has all the ingredients that makes a book exciting - adventure, danger and even some softer moments like when Alfred thinks of his dead mum or is compassionate towards his treatment of Kenny, the other foster child living at the Tuttles. A good book which I didn't want to put down!

After finding, and then losing, his father, Bernard Samson, a billionaire, then discovering himself as the last direct descendant of the famed knight, Sir Lancelot, retrieving King Arthur's sword, Excalibur, and, finally, surviving his own death in THE EXTRAORDINARY ADVENTURES OF ALFRED KROPP, Alfred, naturally, now finds life a tad dull.

Except for the new sport at school called "Kropping" -- a practice of daily harassment and humiliation recently adopted by his classmates -- his life has pretty much returned to normal. Boring. It seems his days of saving the world with OIPEP are over.

Until someone ordered his extraction and he is kidnapped. He awakens aboard a ship, foggy and disoriented. In no time, he's forced out of a plane over the Arabian Desert and is preparing to speed across the dunes on sand-foils at 150 miles per hour.

Their target? The Hyena, a terminated OIPEP agent who has stolen the Seals of Solomon. The Great Seal, a ring, and the Lesser Seal, also known as the Holy Vessel, must be intercepted before the Lesser Seal is broken, releasing evil the world has not seen for 3,000 years. But they are too late. They find the Lesser Seal has been compromised and once again Alfred is thrust into the role of unlikely hero.

I guarantee that once you start this book you will be unable to put it down. Rick Yancey is the master of cliffhanger chapter endings. His descriptions are at once gross and fascinating. Alfred is endearing and funny, and epitomizes the hero in all of us. Who doesn't have the childish dream to save the world and be a hero? Through Alfred Kropp, the reader can live that dream.

Rick Yancey has created an engaging character in Alfred. This reader eagerly awaits many more Alfred Kropp adventures!

If you liked the first Alfred Kropp story, you will love this one. It keeps you hooked from start to finish. I am hoping there will be at least a third in the series. You don't have to be a kid to enjoy it.
