This book is messed up. Like any other Give Yourself Goosebumps book it has two main choices that you can choose from that go it to a bunch of smaller choices. This is an example of why it is messed up. One of the main cohices says to go to pp. 34, but the other one says to go to 21. If you choose to go to page 21 you read the page and then it says to go to page 34!These are not the actual page numbers,i don't remember because i read this book a year ago.

This book is a cool Internet story.

I especially liked the part where the spyder (sic) monster burst out of the computer screen! The Give Yourself Goosebumps books are fun because you get to try so many different ways of finishing the story!

I liked the "twists" in this story - thinking one thing was going to happen, and it didn't. I thought the book was scarier than the Goosebumps.

My 11 year old daughter loved it.

So-So Scares

Let's Get This Party Haunted is the sixth (out of eight) in R.L. Stein's Mostly Ghostly series and we join Max (about to turn 12) practicing for the magic show he has planed for his upcoming birthday project...working with Quinten a new friend who shares his love of magic and hoping that he can get Traci (the most popular girl at school) to come to his party. He's got a bit of a problem though...he's got two other friends, Nicky and Tara and they just happen to be ghosts who always seem to get Max into more trouble then he could ever get in on his own.

Max's goal is to invite Traci (and her cool friends by proxy), pull off a spectacular party that will wow them and prove that he's not the weirdo everyone thinks he is. Unfortunately, Max seems to have the worst luck of any boy ever written about...he's got a horrible older brother, his father thinks he's worthless because he's smart instead of a jock (like his brother), a mom who is indifferent at best, a best friend who is NEVER then when he needs a buddy (he gets grounded on Max's birthday, typical), and two ghost friends who are always lousing up his plans.

Will Max pull off a great party? Will he impress Traci and her friends? Who is that boy in black who is still lurking about? Where did those specters come from? You'll have to read to find out...and this one has more twists and scares than usual, but still this series is leaving me unsatisfied due to the nature of Max's life...I just don't like the abuse that is heaped upon him by his brother and father, it just plays into a poor me, my life is so hard mentality that a lot of kids have. Additionally, each book seems to start out with Max loathing Nicky and Tara for all the problems they cause him and because they are kind of selfish and pushy and ending with Max declaring that they really are the best friends he could have...yet, the next volume puts him back at the loathing point. I guess I would just chalk it up to the kid drama...they do seem to do drama well, but it just irks me a bit.

Overall, it's so-so...there is a big revenge twist at the end that left me stunned as it was something I just don't see an adult doing...but probably something a kid would think up that an adult might do as revenge. I give it a C, it's got a few genuine creepy moments...but overall, it's just a boy whose life never goes quite right and it's kind of depressing to continue reading about it...luckily there are only two more books in this series.

Cataluna is eye popping with excitement .Cathrine goes on a painful, mission to run away, but finds something else. If you like the goose bump books then this is the book for you. Cathrine has a lot of problems so she tries to take it out on others by killing them. Be ready to learn more.
This book is mostly about survival. Cathrine has to run away because every one wants to kill her because she's bad luck. At one point they almost kill her. So she's out for revenge, but while she runs away she has to find food and water. Cathrine is a very easy person to relate to. These are some of the feelings in the book. Revenge Cathrine wants revenge. Even her family turns on her so she is sad. Painful trying to survive. Shamed that no one likes her. Scared that they will kill her.
Cataluna takes place in 1668.She runs into a forest and they had more trees back then now. They tried to hang her with a rope. And she hinds in an old shack. The myth that she was born under the bad luck moon is a really old myth.
Overall this book is good and a little scary but like I said if you like the goose bump books then this is the book for you. I assure you after you read the first chapter you won't be able to put the book down. I give this book a rating of ten. After you read the book answer some of these questions: will she survive, how, is she really bad luck, will anyone like her. Read it to find out Cathrine, s special power.

A Thrilling Conclusion to An Engrossing Trilogy

The Night People can finally rest at ease. The evil is gone. Done with. And while the memories of the vicious pranks, and horrific murders are still emblazoned in everyone's minds, they are nothing more than a part of the past. Everything is back to normal. At last. The friends who are still breathing - Dana, Jamie, Nate, Shark, Lewis - are trying to put their lives back together, and still meet late at night at their beloved hangout, Nights, where they can forget about the past. After all, it was Angelica Fear's ancient spirit that was wreaking havoc. And now Angelica is dead. Burned in a fire that destroyed her body, soul, and spirit for all eternity. But if it's true. If Angelica is truly dead, then how come Jamie still feels an evil spirit lingering around. And what did Angelica actually mean when she screamed out, "The evil lives," through the crackling of the flames.

It is a huge rarity for me to read an entire trilogy/book series all in a row based solely on the fact that I usually get bored with characters. That obviously doesn't apply to Stine's books, for after finishing MOONLIGHT SECRETS, I quickly moved onto MIDNIGHT GAMES, and finished up the trilogy with DARKEST DAWN, all in a period of two days. Stine's characters truly grow on you through each book, as you get the opportunity to see them over a period of time, and see how their personalities change after each bought of evil they encounter. Narrated by Jamie's sensible, caring voice, DARKEST DAWN is a marvelous ending to an engrossing trilogy.

The thing I found most enjoyable was reading Bette Davis speaking - a strong and vibrant personality comes through and it is both enjoyable and interesting to read.

Also, in it she reveals some information such as names of affairs which she says that she didn't reveal in her own biography The Lonely Life. She discusses her thoughts on co-stars and loves and family, it's fascinating.

Bette In Her Own Words...

I happened upon this book quite by accident. While impatiently waiting for one of my libraries to have 'The Girl Who Walked Home Alone' (the new Bette Davis Bio) available, I found this book, and figured, what the heck, maybe this would hold me over till I could get the new one. Well, it was much better than I expected! It was Bette telling her own stories in her own words, to her good friend and author Whitney Stine.

Mr. Stine became a fan of Ms. Davis's when he was 8, and kept a scrapbook of the star all throughout her career. Well, in 1968, and in his thirties, he finally got the chance to meet her after she heard he was writing a Biography of her career, not her life (Mother Goddam - 1974). She was intrigued, and once the two met, they remained very close friends for almost 20 years.

What I enjoyed most about this book was it was conversations that Bette had had with Mr. Stine over their 20 year friendship. Bette herself explaining her favorite movies, people she did and didn't like working with, tidbits about her personal life, awards she'd won, and missed opportunities. It wasn't some author who never knew her personally making up things they thought had happened, or filling in blanks themselves.

Overall I was very pleased with this book...and am very glad I found it. Now that I've had my Bette Davis fill, I can be a little more patient while waiting for her new bio to become available!

I haven't read many Goosebumps books, but I intend to. This book, compared to the others, isn't that good, but it still gives you a thrill to read it.

Don't sit on the Gronk: It has a good ending. Brad was looking for trouble when he didn't read the instructions on his new pet.

Nutcracker Nightmare: Seriously weird with a stupid ending. Mrs Boren is an unrealistic character.

The Ice Vampire: Really good! When Sam goes to an ice-sculpture competition, it has some chilling results...

A Holly Jolly Holiday: I love this one!!! A good book to "Tempt your tummy!!!"

Why I hate Jack Frost: Why do the kids in this book all get a horrible doom? This one's a little boring. Jared moves to the desert and wham, he gets doomed.

Marshmallow Suprise: WEIRD ending. It's about a grumpy old lady and some .. kind of innocent kids.

Monster on the ice: That's more like it! Max gets new skates that turns him into monster when he wears it.

The Double dip Horror: My favourite in the book. Rachel and Wynona go to a ski resort and pull some tricks... and Rachel ends up dead.

Santa's helpers: Great! Those two got what they deserved. Attack of the Chrismas present: This is so boring. You think it's going to end with Jack getting mashed, or at least getting hurt.. and then this stupid end.

Good source of silly jokes to amuse children and bore adults

As the father of a teenage daughter, I lived through the years of her reading silly jokes to me. She would be set into fits of giggles by jokes similar to those that appear in this book. Some examples are:

"How can you tell when there is a monster in your sandwich? It's too heavy to lift."
"What's a monster's favorite movie? Scar Wars"
"Where's a monster's favorite place to swim? Lake Eerie"

There are also many illustrations that are appropriate for the jokes, ugly monsters that somehow manage to look appealing. I recommend this book as a source of good, clean fun for young children in the age range of seven to nine.

A fun, female-centered fantasy for kids of all ages.

This is a "find your fate" adventure in which the reader is faces with choices that lead to several different storylines. The reader of this book gets to "be" Golden Girl, a warrior queen. The adventure unfolds as Golden Girl must rescue her beloved unicorn companion while protecting the magic Gemstone from her enemy, Dragon Queen. Smart choices are rewarded with happy endings, while foolish ones end in disaster. Golden Girl and her companions, the Guardians, are good role models for children, as they display courage, honor, and intelligence. The book is especially empowering for girls, since powerful female characters tend to be scarce in children's literature. My biggest complaint with the book is that it's too short to allow much room for characterization. Still, it's fertile inspiration for daydreams in all latent warrior queens!

I have been a great fan of goosebumps since they first came out! I have read almost everyone and they just keep on getting beter and beter! Sure, there not novels written by John Grisham but they still have that twist that young adults like. If you like other goosebumbs or any R. L. Stine books you will be sure to like this one. I wouldn't recomend this book or any other Stine books for the reader that likes extreme horror books but if your the person who likes the little scare in the night then you should get this book. I gave it 4 stars because that is what I think it deserves. Have fun reading it!
