If you're a mystery type of reader and you like to read books that make you keep on reading then you would enjoy and should read this book. The protagonist of this book is always inquistive about what is goin on at camp and the antagonists are mysterious. I think this book is awesome because I like to read mystery books and this book maskes me want to reading it.

This book was ok if you are nine years old, but me--I did not like it. It was a good quick read, but other than that it was not frightening, it was really short. Its plot was childish, and it did not have a very good ending. This book was meant to be read buy younger kids (nine to ten years old) and if your older than that you might like I but I did not it was good for quick reading. During the plot it was easy to predict what would happen next. So yeah this book is good for younger people, it is also a good quick read, and it is very easy to predict what's going to happen next.

I really do think the name Cooper is funny. Even I don't know what Fergie ment when she said 'dogs'. Oh by the way, we used to have a neighbor named Cooper. Just the end.

I would recomend this book to people. This book is scary but not the scary that gives you nightmares. On the scary meter its in the middle. Also it is great because it leaves you wanting more at the end of the chapter. When Billy finds out he is goin to Camp Nightmoon hes really exited.Once he boards the bus he meets mike. Mike seems cautious and scared to go to camp. Then the bus stops in the middle of nowere and drives away. Then the kids here growling noises and suddenly mysterious animals appear. When Billy is finaly settled in, some strange thing start to happen. Campers suddenly start to disapear and no one seems to care! What will happen to Billy? Will he disapear? Will he escape? To find out, you have to read this amazing book.
Suspenseful, thrilling, but the ending ruins the book.

Welcome to Camp Nightmare is likely the scariest, most suspenseful Goosebumps book. The story is about a group of children who go to a summer camp, where mysterious things happen. Without ruining much, I'll say that I was on the edge of my seat throughout the book.
However, the book's ending is unexpected... in a bad way. You'd expect a such a suspenseful book to have an incredible twist at the end, as Stine usually ends his Goosebumps series, but the ending to Welcome ot Camp Nightmare oozes of unoriginallity, and is a giant cop out. R.L. Stine ruined what could have been his greatest book.

This story by R.L. Stine is taking place at "Camp Nightmoon", but its nickname is "Camp Nightmare". A little boy named Billy had never gone camping before. He was scared because during the camp, campers were disappearing. The camp counselors were just saying that the campers never existed. Most of the campers went to the "Forbidden Bunk" and disappeared. The "Forbidden Bunk" is a bunk room where no one is allowed to go, and if they do, they disappear. The camp counselor, "Larry" told everyone about a red-eyed monster called "Sabre" who lives in the "Forbidden Bunk" and eats a camper every night.
In the end, it was not true, it was all a test for Billy. If he passed the test, he would go to another planet called "Earth", for a dangerous mission. The campers weren't really dissappearing, they were all in on the act. "Uncle Al", the camp director, told Billy that he passed the test. Then all the other campers and all their parents came out of the bushes and congratulated Billy.
I liked the book, but it wasn't great. I didn't like the ending because I thought they were already on earth when they were really on a different planet.

As Welcome to Camp Nightmare begins we join a lively group of youngsters headed to the sleep-away camp, Camp Nightmoon, called Camp Nightmare by the campers...and with good reason. In this volume we meet 12 year old Billy who is headed out for his first time at sleep-away camp, we join him on the bus ride with his fellow campers, including two girls who are headed to the girls camp of the same name, just across the river. Billy hits it off with one of the girls and hopes to see her as the summer goes on. They are let off abruptly and left alone at a station where they are nearly set upon by large wild dogs. They are whisked away to Camp Nightmoon where he is assigned to Bunk 4, just down the hill from the ominous "Forbidden Bunk" which they are told to stay away from at all costs or a wolf like monster called Sabre will kill them. They are also warned against bear attacks...all of this seems highly causal to both the reader and to Billy who wonders why his parents would send him off to a camp that is so dangerous.
Almost immediately things head down hill for Billy and his bunk mates; Larry (their camp counselor who isn't around much and is indifferent when he is), Roger, Jay, Collin and Mike. Snakes attack Mike whose hand swells up, Billy comes through with a plan to get the snakes out of the bunk, but it's too late for poor Mike's hand...even worse, there's not nurse at the camp and Neither Uncle Al (runs the camp) nor Larry seem to care in the slightest. From there, it's a downward spiral for Billy and his bunkmates as one after another mysteriously disappears and as fear mounts for Billy wondering why Larry and Uncle Al seem so oblivious and unconcerned about something that is very wrong at Camp Night Moon...will Billy escape the fate of his bunkmates? You'll have to read to find out.
Overall, Camp Nightmare is an over-the-top, no holds barred near-parody of the classic sleep-away camp horror/thriller story. We are given a camp where EVERYTHING is wrong and where our hopelessly frightened protagonist is faced with a monster, the "forbidden bunk," disappearing bunkmates, a cruel counselor, a possibly psychotic Uncle Al, and a steadily mounting feeling that Billy's days are numbered! Camp Nightmare manages to be both suspenseful and horrific in a tame sort of way...one that makes the reader want to stop all the action and shake the character while screaming NO WAY...stop and think about it...but he never does and in the end we are given a totally unique twist (that is equally as unrealistic as the rest of the book) when the book comes to a screeching halt, concluding very abruptly! All the loose ends are tied up and the story IS entertaining, though your brain will scream NO WAY for most of the book, I give it four stars (instead of three) because I totally didn't see the ending that Stine gave it, so despite the over exaggerated plot details, he "got" me in the end. This is the type of book you read for the sheer entertainment of it...you know it's not right, you know it's unrealistic...yet you are compelled to read it to the very last page and you walk away with a little giggle and rolling your eyes...but you have been entertained and that makes it worth reading.

It might be just me but...the way he wrote this one made me queezy. I didn't like how Renz was obsessed with "His Laura" I also didn't like how the plot was repeating...Destiny goes and almost dies then livvy does .. then destiny.Boring.

This is just my opinion, but I like how suspenceful it is. I like the Characters and how they are different from each other. It was a little confusing. I couldn't figure out why Renz thought that biting twin sisters Destiny and Livvy would bring his girlfriend back. But I love how twins are involved in the book. I want to read it AGAIN. It was gripping and interesting. At times it went slow-paced, and that's okay, but occasionally it went too slow-paced for me. This is the first R.L. stine book that was about vampires that I have read, except for the "Goosbumps" series. Good Job R.L. Stine!
liked it! But slightly uneventful

Destiny Weller and her twin sister Livvy came back from Camp Blue Moon with a thirst for blood. Now they're drinking animals blood at night.
Two of their friends were found dead with their blood drained.
WIll they find the Restorer to bring them back to normal? Will the Vampire Hunters find them and kill them???
Very good book I read the whole thing on a four hour plane ride. It was a little bit girly. The ending was kind of sad. I can't wait to read Dangerous Girls 2 The Taste of Night.

The novel "Dangerous Girls" is highly recommended for anyone who enjoy the paranormal and fantasy creatures such as, in this case, vampires. The book is cleverly written, and contains good, various bits of suspense, explanatory descriptions, normal life contra fiction.
One of the very best teenager books of R.L. Stine that I have ever read, and I have read at least 40, I believe.

okay, its been a while since i've read this book and am incredably fuzzy on the details but i do remember how much i loved it. i've read it twice at least. R.L. Stine was my favorite author back in middle school and as sad as it may be i still enjoy reading them. If i have nothing better to do than i'll borrow one of my friends old books or one of my own and finish them in a couple hours. I highly recomend the Goodnight Kiss books for any young adult horror reader or any of Stine's books for that matter. I'm actually about to dig the book out of my basement to re-read just for fun.

The story I read was Goodnight kiss by R.L Stine. The genre of the story is horror/ fiction. The main characters are April Blair a 16 year old girl who is vacationing with her boyfriend in Sandy Hollow , Matt who is April's boyfriend is a immature monster movie loving 16 year old boy, Todd Matt's best friend who is also staying in Sandy Hollow is a shy 16 year old boy who is always thumbing a plastic butane lighter, Gabri is a vampire who is trying to turn April into a vampire, Jessica is a vampire that accidentally kills Todd so then tries to turn Matt into a vampire. The conflict of the story is that two vampires "Gabri and Jessica " make a bet , which ever one that can turn April or Todd into a vampire first wins but in the process of the bet Jessica accidentally kill Todd so then turns her sights on Todd. The climax of the story is when Matt is chasing April and Gabri in a row boat bound four Gabri's lair.
The resolution of the story is Matt thinks he saved April but a few days later there alone and April drinks Matt's blood. Yes I would recommend this book. I would recommend this book because its scary and full of suspense.

A Night in Terror Tower was an ok story. Some of it was confusing, it wasn't explained. The story was coinsidental, everything was planned out. Some parts of the book popped out at me and some parts were very boring. You should read this book and see what I'm talking about.

A Night in Terror Tower is an amazing little book. With only 129 pages it is more than able to draw in a reader and fuel the imagination long after completion. The story is about two young children in London. They take a tour to the Terror Tower in London. The tour turns sour when they lose their guide and are hunted by the mysterious man in the black cape. The children are suffering from memory loss and nothing seems to be going their way! When the man in the black cape catches them the story takes a major twist, the kids are now in the past! This story is excellent for younger readers and will keep them turning pages for hours. I would recommend this book for anyone ages 8-12, but even adults could enjoy this as a quick night read! The graphic settings and bone chilling details to R. L. Stines books really keep you involved. The story is filled with humor, horror, drama, and action that won't let you sit anywhere but the edge of your seat.

A Night in Terror Tower is not the best Goosebumps book, But it is still good.
It is about a brother and sister(Eddie and Sue)that are in London because their parents have some meetings ( It never says what the meetings are for, But not even Eddie and Sue know, and you'll figure out why.) They spend their day with a tour group. They come to visit terror tower. While touring, they get separated from their group and are persued by a man in a cape that wants them for reasons unknown. Read the book to find out what happens when Eddie and Sue are finnaly captured.

The books in the Goosebumps series regularly seem to take the vein of a morality tale (of a twisted sort) where one virtue, evil, personality flaw, or issue is taken up as the focus of the story, and Be Careful What You Wish for is no exception. The order of the day here is being careful about what you wish for...in this volume we meet Samantha Byrd a tall young lady who is given heck by Judith Bell and her friend Anna who seem to have no reason for their treatment of Samantha outside of the fact that she's something of an easy target. She's tall, but clumsy...on the basketball team (where Judith is queen) but not a good player. Samantha is constantly miserable about her lot in life...complaining about how mean Judith is and taking one insult after another from her without much protesting at the time.
One day on the way home from school Sam helps a woman named Clarissa find her way...she's become turned around and Sam is kind enough to walk her practically across town to get to the right street. As a reward, Clarissa offers her three wishes. Sam is incredulous, but hastily makes a wish anyway...to be the strongest basketball player on the team. As with all wishes, this one goes awry...instead of making her a better player, she becomes the strongest player when ALL her other teammates become ill and bedridden. In a panic, she tries to right her wish but only manages to make it progressively worse...until in misery she makes a final wish...and...well, you'll have to read to find out how it works out. I will say that what you get is always different than what you expect with these stories, and Be Careful What You Wish For is no exception, it does have a signature Twilight Zone--esque twist at the end.
Overall, Be Careful What You Wish For is well written and the characters are simple but adequately written, but this one just doesn't work as well as some of the previous stories in the series. Samantha doesn't come across as sympathetic and at the end I was left with a kind of eh...whatever, feeling. I just didn't really care about her enough and it came to rather swift ending. I give it three stars, it's entertaining, but no great shakes.

This book is about a girl who lives in an old house, and there is a secret bedroom in which odd things happen (I won't tell you exactly what happens because I don't want to ruin it for you). But I will say that the things that happen are interesting and wants to keep you reading until you find out what exactly is going on.
The ending was very satisfying. We found out the "why's" and "how's" and all questions and curiosities were answered. I wish I could say more, but I don't want to spoil it.
This is a "teen horror", and I am an adult. I feel this book was entertaining and interesting enough for a child, teen, or an adult. This book is one of my favorite R.L. Stine books (that I am so crazy over, no matter how old I get).

The Secret Bedroom is definitely a book worth reading. The suspense is incredible and you just want to keep reading! I remember my mom used to come into my room and tell me to go to sleep because it would be 11:30 and I'd still be reading. Although this book lacks a real story and doesn't have that good of an ending, it is still a very creepy and spooky book. I got shivers. If you like a good scare, read this book! The only thing I didn't like about this book was the ending- you'll never guess it, but when it comes the story just falls. No more scares, no more turns, but still a good book!

Contrary to most opinions, I believe this book to be an R.L. Stine masterpiece! It's been a while since I've read it, but I do remember it scared me so bad, I had trouble driving the next day, and almost got in accident. It's my favorite Fear Street book besides "Dead End". I also found out that R.L. Stine came up with the idea for this book while writing the "The Baby-sitter". Observe what Jenny says while her imagination runs wild on page 2 of "Baby-sitter":
"Maybe the house is haunted. There's the ghost of a young girl trapped in the attic, and I accidentally let her out, and she inhabits my body and I'm not the same person anymore."
No point to this brief lesson, just an interesting thing.

Lea just moved to Shadyside. She moved to a house on Fear Street. But she has had a bad start at Shadyside high. During her first week she spilled chilly on Marci's white sweater. Marci is very popular at Shadyside. Lea had made an instant enemy of Marci just for tripping and spilling chilly. Lea did make one friend, Deena. Deena was fairly popular but really nice so she was glad to be Lea's friend. When Lea started cleaning up her mess of chilly a guy started helping her. He said his name was Don. Then he asked her out on a date. Lea was surprised and said yes. She went to sit down and told Deena. Deena said it was a joke because Don had been with Marci for a long time. Lea wasn't sure it was a joke she knew Don was asking her out. Deena told her just to watch out for Marci. When Lea moved into her house it was a major fix-upper. In the attic there was a boarded up bedroom that seemed to be a secret. The dealer said there was a scary story for each house on Fear Street. She said that the scary story for the bedroom was that there was a murder there. On the night Don was supposed to pick Lea up for the date he didn't come. So Lea called him. His mom picked up and said he was over at Marci's. So Lea called Marci without thinking and Marci picked up. Lea asked for Don and Marci laughed. She asked if Lea actually thought Don was going to go out with her. She said that she dared Don to ask Lea out but Don was hers. Lea was upset and Deena was right. As Lea started to go to sleep she heard stomps over her head coming from the bedroom in the attic. She decided to check it out. She went up to the attic and tried to pry the boards but then a waterfall of blood came through the top and flowed to the ground. Lea ran to the front room and called the police than her friend Deena. Deena convinced her it was a dream and came over to her house. They checked out the attic and nothing was there. There was no blood at all. Lea was confused; it couldn't be a dream it seemed too real. When the police got to her house Lea told them it was just a dream. Deena left and Lea just sat confused. The next day Marci was telling everyone about Lea actually thinking Don wanted to go out with her. Lea was very upset. When she got home she just lay down in her bed but she heard talking noises and footsteps above her again. She went up to the bedroom and tried to open it again. But then large gigantic spikes came out of it. Lea was scared to death. She ran downstairs and realized it was just a dream. The next day the noise annoyed her so much she decided to go up there and open it up so she went up there and pried it loose to find a girl about her age in a pretty room. But then Lea realized that the girl was floating and with very pale color... It was a ghost. The ghost says her name is Catherine. The problem is that Catherine wants to come back to life and the only way to do that would be to take over Lea's body and Catherine won't stop until she gets that...

i love R. L. Stine but this book was a little lacking. it was a little strange and somewhat unbelievable. i know that Stine is a much better writter than this book shows but i guess that it just wasn't much in my taste. all in all it was still worth the couple hours that it took to read. this is more of a book that i would recomend checking out of the library instead of buying though. not to offend, but i think it would be better if you were younger not because being young means being stupid but that you have a better imagination and things are more believable. This would be really scarry for someone about 10 or maybe 11. I'm too old to be reading Fear Street books but still like them. So shoot me!

Trust me people it's a waste of money...If you choose to read it make sure you check it out of the library..

I have just finished reading this book and as soon as I put it down I logged onto the internet, for I feel morally obliged to warn the rest of humanity about this book. I wish it were possible to choose half a star, or even better yet, no star, as a rating for I feel that one star is WAY to generous. The basic plot - guy kills guy talking to girl who he thinks is his gf; is actually gf's roomate wearing her clothes. This happens twice. Why doesn't the girl just stop lending out her clothes? At the end of the book we learn that none of the main characters actually exist, it was all a product of the girlfriend's imagination. What possessed me to borrow another one of Stine's book? I've learnt my lesson, I swear. No wonder there was a letter on the back cover from the author practically begging people to buy the sequel. No thanks. I've already exceeded my recommended stupidity intake for the year.

I started reading Fear Hall: The Beginning on a boring day. By 3:00 i was done with the it and starting Fear Hall: The Conclusion! I was so absorbed with the suspensful plot and wonderful characters that i could't put it down!! The book wasn't all that scary, mostly suspensful. The ending was a real shocker. While it might turn some readers off, i really felt it worked in an already strange story. I believe that even readers who don't like it will still read the second half. Even people that don't like reading will enjoy this story. It thrusts you into the action in the first chapter so you won't get bored. I really liked how it showed all the characters emotions. I only found two problems with this book. The first being, that the ending may turn off some readers. The only other complaint i had was that i couldn't put it down!! I ate nothing but Goldfish Crackers all day (Thank goodness you can eat them with one hand!!) I couldn't even stop reading to eat a real meal!!!

Bit disappointed in Stine with this effort, compared to other invisible man (boy/girl) adventures this story is pretty mild entertainment and thriller wise. Stine is one of the better Horror/scary story authors out there, I just expected more. It's almost as if the invisibility part of the story is only even there as it is needed to tie the reason for Max, his brother and friends to hang out around the mirror, the chances to have fun with the characters being invisible just isn't explored. We the reader, only have one experience of a character doing anything with the unsuspecting public and that was very mild indeed.
Plus Stine takes the lazy option of food eaten, clothes, hair and everything else turning invisible as well as the human which again misses the reader out on opportunities for funny or interesting situations with the characters, especially since Max (the main character) would have to have been naked to fully be invisible in the same room as girls that go to his school (including one he thinks is cute). The author could have let the reader have a lot of fun with something like that. There are just a lot of areas this story could have gone that it didn't which make it disappointing being such as simple and uneventful storyline and how predictable is the ending as well?
If you don't know what this book is about but the title seems interesting to you, it's the story of Max who just turned 12, who after his birthday party while taking a girl he likes, her friend and his younger brother up to the attic discovers a room (that somehow his parents and everyone else have never noticed before) which has an old large mirror inside. Tugging on the chain to turn on the light he becomes invisible and only reappears when the light is turned off. This impresses the girls but unfortunately one of their mothers has arrived to take them home. Scared but fascinated of the mirror Max warns his brother not to go near it but of course what little brother ever listens. A couple of days later Max invites his best friend as well the girls back to his house and even though after a while being invisible makes them feel really bad, peer pressure keeps them all having shots at beating the record for time being invisible. Max seems to be the only one actually worried about everyone's health. Unfortunately their health isn't the only thing he needs to fear.
R.L. Stine also has another invisibility adventure of a boy who discovers an invisible man living in his house called My Best Friend is Invisible, haven't read that one yet but hopefully he has put a lot more effort into it than this one.
The best reads in the invisibility genre are -
Aimed at children
Frankenstein Makes a Sandwich by Adam Rex
You are Invisible by Susan Saunders (Also has, like this book does, kids in an attic if you're into this)
The Invisible Day by Marthe Jocelyn
Selby's Shemozzle by Duncan Ball
For those up to the older reading level
Memoirs of an Invisible Man by H. F. Saint
Smoke by Donald E. Westlake
The Invisible Man by H. G. Wells
I have created a full Listmania list of invisible man fiction out there which you should be able to find a link to off one of the above books' pages. Hope it helps!

When 12 year old Max and his friends find a mysterious mirror in a room in the attic of his home, they discover a strange and amazing magic that has been lurking in Max's house for a long time.
Max blames the discovery on his dog Whitey, who finds the door in the attic the mirror is hidden behind. With his little brother Noah, nicknamed "Lefty" because of his left handedness, and two guests left over from his birthday party, the nervous April and incredibly cute Erin, Max examines the mirror. In their curiosity Max and his friends, including Zack who left the party early, discover the mirror in the attic is enchanted with a dark and eerie secret. As they experiment with the mirror, Zack gets the idea that it would be fun to stay invisible longer than anybody else. This leads to a contest and to save face in front of his girlfriend, Max must submit. Things get worse though when Max discovers the terrible consequences for "getting invisible". Not even magic can undo what will happen if he doesn't escape the mystery of the magic mirror.

In Let's Get Invisible we meet 12 year old Max and his brother Noah (nicknamed Lefty because he's left handed). Shortly after the story begins Max finds himself up in the attic with his friends April and Erin, as they are looking around, Whitey (the dog) finds a door behind some stuff that they didn't know about. Upon opening the door, the group discovers the room is bare except an old mirror. When Max turns on the light on the mirror to get a better look around the room, his friends suddenly can't see him. Initially he thinks they are just joshing him...he turns off the light and he reappears, he's not sure if he was REALLY invisible or if his friends are pulling his leg. All he knows is that he felt very weird while the light was on.
The idea that he might have been invisible plagues him, so in the middle of the night he goes up to the room and sees if it's REALLY true, does he go invisible when he turns on the light??? His brother catches him in the act and they both go invisible. Max is both scared and excited by this and wants to "get" his friend Zach...what starts out as something that's a bit of fun, quickly turns into a contest with Max, Lefty, April, Erin, and Zach all competing to see who can stay invisible the longest...but as they stay invisible longer and longer, it takes longer and longer for them to come back and something strange seems to be happening...eventually his friends seem a little different, but he can't quite place what's wrong...can YOU!? Read and see if you can figure it out...and find out if Max can save the day...or if he'll wind up being invisible forever!
Overall, not bad...characterizations are adequate for the story, the suspense is good...but I figured out the ending about halfway through the book. Let's Get Invisible is an interesting idea that comes to a predictable end, I give it three stars. The idea is pretty unique, but the presentation and conclusion are pretty standard, this simply isn't one of the better stories in the series, but it does have the signature twist at the end.
The idea that he might have been invisible plagues him, so in the middle of the night he goes up to the room and sees if it's REALLY true, does he go invisible when he turns on the light??? Maybe because it's an early volume this is, in my opinion, one of Stine's better books. Later in the series, many stories just got a little too silly.
Max has a dog named Whitey, a left-handed brother nicknamed Lefty and a few friends. Pretty standard kid, average life. Until his birthday party, when boredom prompted the kids to investigate the attic and Whitey found a hidden door. Behind the door is a small room that holds just a mirror - but it's not like any mirror you own! Attached to the top of the mirror is a small light and when it's turned on, the person in front of the mirror becomes invisible. For the kids, it's something different to play around with and it doesn't SEEM dangerous.
The only flaw Max finds is that, after being invisible for a while, he feels lightheaded and it takes longer for him to become visible again when the light is turned off. He's not sure why that is, but he's going to find out - and he's not going to like it. If he's around that long!
Not scary-scary, but a little creepy-scary. Makes you look at mirrors a little differently for a day or so. :-) I have yet to come across a Goosebumps title that refers back to an older story, but I couldn't help but think that Max's grandparents have a story that ought to be told - and I hope Stine tells it someday.

It is called ectoplasm , not R. L. Stine's protoplasm.
Ghost stories are good stuff for camp fires and little kids,
but this one is kind of hokey.
Not believing in ghosts is fine:
we can't really "measure" them.
But if you die and wake up as a ghost,
that might be entirely different, ha, ha...
