When Eleanor's mother is killed by a vampire, she and her father start to run. They spend their lives in hiding but he is tired of it. So they move back to their hometown to face the vampires once and for all.
When Trevor Frier shows up at her house he give them the journal of Richard Frier, which tells of his transformation into a vampire and how to kill them.
When her father is killed, Eleanor is persuaded to move into the Frier's home where Trevor can keep her safe. But how safe can you be in a house full of vampires?
The ending was amazing and out of all of the vampire books I've read this is one of my favorites.

I love this book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Review Date: 2003-07-03
This book helped my obsession with vampiers grow.So what if it was predictable, so what if their love was commercial, you have to give R.L Stien some credibility with all of those Goosebumps books a love story is big jump for the guy.
Any way to get right to the point. One last kiss is a story of a girl who's only family was her father they moved around quite often and fought off vampiers. her father is killed by the main posse of vampiers(in their current town)...Hey you were gonna find out sooner or later. Then shortly after Elenor(the girl) meets Trevor Fear, a local royalty(not as in king but very rich.)So they meet fall in love yadda yadda yadda the rest would ruin the entier impact if i reaveal it to you so pick up a copy for yourself.
For girls there is alot of love, romance, and dramatics.
For guys swords, fighting...its a vampier stoy for crissake!any one will enjoy this story just have a little imagination!
An Abslutely Exquisite RomanceReview Date: 2004-09-29
Not to be too much of a reviewer, I must say the romance in this book is absolutely and utterly sublime. There is such a fire between Eleanor and Trevor that I had to read scenes again and again, just out of sheer love for the romance of this book. You couldn't ask more for to sweep you off your feet--a dashing vampire with "midnight hair that touched his shoulders." This I honor above all romance. Kudos to you RL for creating such a flawless and passionate romance between two wonderful characters...though the ending is horrid in context, it is none the more appropriate and exquisite.

One of the best books of this series.Review Date: 2006-06-30

Grusome, Scary, and Suspensful--Stine does it again!Review Date: 2004-07-23
Maggie was a suspect of her father's murder; it was simple. They argued before he died, so of course she is going to be the lead suspect. Maggie is sent to jail, and she is supposed to be hanged. "Poor little rich girl!" they all sneer. But a family rescues Maggie, and she goes off to become a governess for a family.
Maggie didn't like the manor from the beginning, but the little boy, Garret, seems evil.
"The Hidden Evil" was great, and I've read it twice! I higly reccomend this if you like scary books. It is pretty grusome, so you're now warned!

Jimmy O' James is a well loved children's ventriloquist with his living dummy Slappy. Slappy is a real mad man (or mad dummy I should say). Slappy insults kids, hurts kids and is trying to ruin Jimmy's career. Slappy is so evil because he was made by an evil sorcerer. The sorcerer made slappy out of coffin wood. Eventually Jimmy has enough of Slappy. He sets a curse on Slappy. Slappy has one week to do three good deeds, or he will die! That might not be too hard for you but remember Slappy is evil so it is pretty hard for Slappy to do three good deeds. Eventually he starts to do good deeds but unfortunately some one is messing them up. Slappy thinks it is his owner's sister, Stella. So Slappy tries to KILL Stella... but is it really Stella... who is really messing up Slappy's good deeds... will he be put to sleep forever... READ THE BOOK!!!!!!
Imagine being Slappy fighting for your life. That's a lot of pressure. Slappy has to do three good deeds in one week. What if you don't do the good deeds? YOU'LL DIE! (Pretty creepy huh?)
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes horror, humor and suspense. This book puts you on the edge of your seat. Once you start reading this book you won't be able to put it down. If you like to laugh this is the book for you.

Sweet screams for SlappyReview Date: 2004-05-09
Slappy always does evil and Jimmy O'James can't stand. Jimmy O'James is a ventrilioust. But he doesn't do the speaking. Slappy does because he is a real life dummy. Slappy is always ruining Jimmy's life like saying nasty jokes and threatning the audience. But Jimmy has a surprise for Slappy. Jimmy shows Slappy another dummy called Wally. Jimmy gets a stack of papers
and puts a curse on Slappy. Jimmy tells Slappy he has to do three good deeds in a week because he (Slappy) has done to much evil. Jimmy also tells Slappy if he doesn't do the three good deeds in a week, Slappy will fall to sleep forever and Wally (the other dummy) will go alive. A girl called Georgia comes to meet Jimmy and Jimmy gives Slappy to Georgia. Slappy wants to do the three good deeds as fast as he can so he can get back at Jimmy. At the time, Slappy does a good deed by cleaning Georgia's really messy room. But a few minutes later Slappy finds Georgia's room all wrecked and a good deed gone. Slappy knows a good deed is gone. The next thing Slappy knows is that Slappy is off to Georgia's friend Maggie's house. Slappy knows that he can do a good deed by entertaining Maggie, after Maggie has a broken leg and is in a wheelchair. After entertaining Maggie, Slappy knows that he has done a good deed. But then Maggie starts rolling down a steep hill. Maggie flys
out of her wheelchair and hits the ground. She breaks her arm. Another good deed has gone. Who is wrecking Slappy's good deeds.
And how much time till Slappy falls asleep forever.

"The Thirst" delivers with Thrills and Chills! Review Date: 2007-03-15
"The Thirst" is the 3rd episode in R.L. Stine's on-going saga about a cursed group of High School Seniors who encounter evil and mayhem throughout their final year of High School.
This book opens with school finally starting, and there is a murder during the first week at Shadyside High. This has all the makings of a vampire loose on campus. Either this or a sick copycat murderer. Everyone has a theory. Trisha thinks it has something to do with her vision of a doomed senior class. Josie blames it on the doom spell she cast. Others think it's Clark Dickson - AKA Count Clarkula - that's killing all those people; after all,he acts and dresses like a vampire. Is Clark a Vampire? The reader has to wait and see. The reader is introduced to two new students: Jon, who Deirdre just started dating, and his creepy, accident-prone ex-girlfriend Anita. This story centers around twins Deirdre and Dana as they struggle to find out who the real killer is before they become the next victims! Deirde starts to get threatening phone calls (Typical R.L. Stine Form) and is being stalked by an unknown killer. Some parents and teachers may object to the black magic, that is part of the story. The girls perform a "Seance" to sum up the dead student's spirit, in hopes he/she can lead them to the killer's identity. This may not sit well with some people.
This is your plot for this 3rd volume and it's is quite good. This is a good read, with lot's of suspense and it flows quite well. One particuarly good read is the chapter where a teacher is killed off, since we don't know the identity of the killer, but we can imagine the teacher's horror as she is attacked by the vampire. The chapters end on cliffhangers and there is a huge twist at the end, as for those who don't read ahead, it does surprise you. This is fun book, especally if you like vampires stories.
Criticism:
The senior who is killed off, is not one of the originals we are used to seeing in the "Yearbook". It's almost as if R.L. Stine was not ready to part with one of his original characters, so he made up one for this book. Neverthless, this starts the "Body Count" and we're already into the 3rd volume of the series.
The "Clarkula" storyline is pursued here, but then after this volume, it's swept under the rug. Readers don't hear anything about the "Is Clark a vampire" conspiracy for a couple of volumes. I felt this was a storyline that could of been a major storyline throughout the series, but this is the last the reader hears about this for a long time. (As far as the series goes). The reader learns Debra "Officially" broke up with Josh to date Clark, this is mentioned at the beginning of the book, and not brought up again. Since this was a major storyline in Volume One, (ignored in Volume Two) I felt perhaps more could of been addressed concerning this. Another storyline introduced was Gary Fresno is dating Trisha Conrad, and he apparently broke up with Mary Connor, but again, this is mentioned in passing, and you think it's going to be a major storyline but then it's just another sidestory. I just felt that R.L. Stine could of developed these stories a little more and got the series really moving along.

This book is about two boys and a girl named Andy. The older boy's name is Evan and the younger boy's name is Kermit. Evan and Andy are best friends, and Kermit is Evan's little cousin. Evan is Kermit's baby sitter after school and on weekends. He can't stand baby sitting his genius cousin. Just when Andy and Evan were ready to give Kermit pay back for his rotten tricks some thing went terribly wrong. That's all I'll tell you. You'll have to read the book to see what happens next.
If you read this book I guarantee that you'll like it. I give this book 5 stars. I like this book because it has no confusing part so I can under stand every word.
You will like this book from the first word to the last. You will not want to put this book down.

The best book ever!!!Review Date: 2004-10-16
I love this book and I think its the best book i've ever read in my whole life. I think this book was more like a romantic book than scary, dont misunderstand me, it did scare the hell out of me for sure, especially the bit when Thomas fell on the boiling water. well,I really like the book anyway. By the way, my favorite carachter is Thomas Fear.I think Mr. Stine used a different idea unlike other authors I've ever read, beacuse most authors end their books in a happily ever after way, but he ended the story the way that both main carachters, Thomas and sarah(Jane) are murdered cruely by Sarah.
Please Mr.Stine write more books just like The Awakening Evil. Believe me I'll be the first one who'll get hold of your new book. (...)!!!

Good parts and bad parts... i liked the first one betterReview Date: 2008-04-10
The second book was too romantic, and in the second book Destiny isn't a vampire. I don't like how Livvy is much more mean in this book either. Though the cover art is better in this book, looks aren't everything. The perks with this was that this book is more fast-paced, interesting, and there are more charectors involved. But the ending wasn't as satisfactory as in the first book, though it was still very good! It was griping and I couldn't stop reading! This is just my opinion though.

The story about the dangerous vamipres proceed in "Dangerous Girls 2".
I must admit that the first book seemed better; there were some tedious and slow bits in this one. I will not spill to much information here, but there were, to me, some disappointments.
Look apart from that, though, this is a great book.
