This is another one of r.l. stines best goosebumps books. This book is about a brother and a sister (I can't remember their names) Who live in a house with their mom and dad. In the book the kids mother goes away and now there with their father. While the kids mother is gone they notice that there father isn't acting like he normally does. When the kids go into the basement to see whats going on they see a big surprise. To see what else happens you have to read this awesome book. This book also has a twisted ending to it. This book didn't really make me feel scared as I was reading it, but for the kids in the book it would be scary for them. Read this book, it is great!!!!

Stay Out of the Basement is the second in the Goosebumps Series and we are becoming quite familiar with R.L. Stein's writing at this point, and without hesitation, I think he's about the equivalent to Stephen King and/or Twilight Zone/or The Outer Limits for kids...his stories are always slightly creepy, seem to have slightly campy leanings, almost too outlandish to be believable and always with a twist at the end that leaves you wondering.

Stay Out of the Basement is no exception...in this volume we meet Margaret and Casey Brewer (and their parents, naturally), as we join them we discover that Dr. Brewer has lost his job at the University and is continuing his work in the basement. At this point the mother conveniently has to go out of town to care for a sick relative, leaving the two kids alone with the good Dr. and his strange behavior as he becomes increasingly distant and obsessed with his work. It's only after Casey and Margaret and their neighbor disobey Dr. Brewer's strict orders not to go in the basement that they discover just how strange his work is and just how obsessed with it he is.

For me, Stay Out of the Basement isn't as creepy as the first book in the series, or even as creepy as some of his other work that I have read, but as part of a series designed to give the reader goosebumps, I think it's a fine addition. The ending as always takes a slight twist from what you think it should, and I rather like this about Stein's writing style. I give it a B-, it's entertaining, but fairly predictable. We're looking forward to reading more in the series!

Stay Out of the Basement is the second book in the Goosebump's series. It is also one of my favorites. Stay Out of the Basement is about the Brewer family. Dr. Brewer is a botanist who gets fired from his job because some of his expeirements went wrong. When Dr. Brewer starts working in the basement at home the family never see him. Casey and Margaret are Dr. Brewer's kids. When their mom has to go take care of her sister in Tucson, strange things start happening with their father. Then they start hearing strange sounds from the basement. Casey and Margaret go down to investigate. They could never have imagined what they found down there...

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes thriller novels. This book had everything a thriller had to offer to any reader. There were many surprises in this story such as, James didn't kill the old man, but the two beautiful girls did! If someone said that this book was a true story, I would believe them because everything that happens in this book can occur in real life. I learned to never pick up hitchhikers because of this book.

I recommend this book to anyone that loves mystery or scary stories. As Christina and Terri are driving down the street Christina says, " 'Hey, look at the hitchhiker, he's cute, looks like a killer.' Terri said, 'Christina--I don't like this.' 'What could happen?' "Christina responds. Another, reason why I recommend this book, because it tells that you should never get in car with a stranger. At the beginning Terri tried to tell him it was a mistake. "That's why I was so cruel to you when we first met, I was trying to warn that you got yourself into trouble with us." In conclusion, if you like reading mystery books or a scary story for a sleepover I recommend that you read this book. It is full of suspense!!!!!

I really enjoy this book. This book was based on teenagers and that's probably why I understood it so well. I also found it interesting because of all the twists in the story. When I read I like not to know what's going to happen, all through the book.
There are five main characters in this book. You will meet two of them at the end. They are very important, so read carefully. It's mainly about 2 kids going on a road trip and they meet a third one. Could that be the hitchhiker? You will find some of the destinations are quit odd.
I think this book is for all ages and reading levels. If they had read other R.L Stine books in the past.

The Book "The Hitchhiker" is about two girls named Christina Jenkins and Terri Martin who are vacationing in Florida. They are on their way to Tampa and then they're going back home to Cleveland. On their way to Tampa they pick up a hitchhiker named James. He decides to go with them since he has a cousin in Tampa who owes him money. Terri doesn't like the idea but Christina thinks James is cute and she wants an adventure.
Christina is the type of girl who is carefree and calm and loves to party. Unlike Christina, Terri is very cautious and careful. She is often worried or nervous. For some reason she is afraid of James.
When they arrive in Tampa, they find James' cousin's house, and stay there for a night.
The next morning James announces that he will go with the girls to Cleveland for no apparent reason other than he doesn't like Florida. Terri thinks he is running away from something in Florida. She is upset about the decision. Christina is excited.
As they were about to leave, Paul ( James' cousin ) ran outside announcing his wallet was stolen. He blamed James because James was the only person who knew about the 1,000 dollars in his wallet. Or did somebody else know about the wallet?
Without Paul getting his wallet back, James punched him hard and drove off with the girls.
Late that night, on their way to Cleveland, Terri realizes they are being followed by another car. Who could it be? They don't know....
They decided to stay in a motel that night. The next morning Terri disappeared. Christina and James could not find her anywhere. Christina had the keys to the car so she decided she would go with James to look for Terri.
As Christina and James walked to the parking lot they realized the car was missing too! But how? Christina had the only key right in her hand. Since they couldn't find Terri or the car they decided to hitchhike out of town... But what happened to Terri? What happened to the car? What happened to the person following them?
It is all told in the ending of "The Hitchhiker". If you decided to read this book you are most likely to be shocked by the outcome.

I enjoyed the book "The Hitchhiker" very much. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next! It was very suspenseful! It was one of those books where you keep wanting to turn the page to see what's going to happen next! The climax was very exciting!
I would recommend this book for anyone that likes mystery or horror books. I think all ages would enjoy this book, especially young readers. It was a very interesting book!

Monster Blood 4 is the very last goosebumps book and the monster blood is blue and it multiplies. This was a good finale to the goosebumps series and I personaly think that 62 was an odd number to stop at in the goosebumps series. It should've stopped at like 65 or 70. I own all 62 goosebumps books and I had them on Ebay but nobody bought them. That was a lucky close call for me. Everybody in the monster blood series is in this and a couple evil multiplied persons.

Monster Blood is now blue. That's what R.L Stine wrote. It is creative because it would bore me to death if it was green again. Evan Ross once more has to babysit and look after his genius cousin Kermit. Kermit is a pain to Evan. The thing wrong is Andy always interupts the story. She always pops up with Monster Blood. She is always the reason for Monster Blood terrorising Evan. Anyway, Andy pops up with a blue Monster Blood. But it isn't the same as green Monster Blood. Blue Monster Blood has tiny vicous creatures(in the can that is). It is an excellent book. The creatures are attracted to water. They explode after a good gulp of water. But when they explode, they multiply into more blue ballon like creatures. And the more there is, the more irritated, annoyed and angry they get. But there is a twist. They get hairy and prickly after Kermit's lack of hiding a mixture. You'll also laugh at what happens to Conan at the end of the book. He eats Monster Blood. He is attracted to water. He starts multiplying. He also gets MEANER!!

The Perfect end to the series.

Bride of the Living Dummy is about a girl named Jillian and her sisters, Katie and Amanda. Katie and Amanda have a doll named Mary- Ellen, and they talk to that doll as if the doll were alive. In the morning, the girls try to give Jillian a haircut, because they say that Mary-Ellen said that she needed a haircut for insulting Mary-Ellen the night before. Afterwards, Jillian is supposed to take her sisters to a ventriloquist show at the Saturday matinee. There they meet Slappy, and when Slappy finds his way to the Zinman residence, all sorts of things start to happen. Such things indicate that Slappy wants his bride. Overall, a well written book.

I like Bride of The living Dummy because it is a scary book and scary books are my second favorite kind of book.My favorite part was when they thought that Slappy the evil dummy was dead but his spirt is in control of Jane, the main charecter. It could be beter if Slappy did scaryer things like ensted of puting the lizard in his mouth he could have tied the lizard's tail to the side of the mirror by the blood writing. I read Bride of the Living dummy becaues the book cover looked scary and interestig.

Jillian hates her sisters Katie and Amanda. One day while going to the show, Harrison got Slappy because Jimmy O' James did not need him anyway. troubles started at THE ZINMAN FAMILY. First, when they ere asked to go to the party one of their tricks became dangerous and injuried two kids. Next, Jillian's lizard was missing. And last, The birthday of Eddie Simkin. The trouble was they brought Slappy too. Then, he spitted some bad green ooze. Slappy said that his bride Jillian!. WRONG. BECAUSE SLAPPY'S BRIDE IS MARY ELLEN. Mary ellen is Katie and amanda's doll. So order this book now!!!!. Forgot one more thing. When they were in a mansion, they saw a diary of Jimmy and it is about Slappy. It is said that the toymaker who made Slappy is evil.

After a prolonged absence, Slappy; the possessed dummy who comes to life when the magic words in his pocket are read, returns to the Goosebumps books. This is Slappy's fourth appearance. Slappy is as rude and sneaky as ever. However, this time Slappy may have met his match in an overgrown doll named Mary-Ellen. The book, like all of the books with Slappy, is a page turner and finally reveals the true origins of Slappy. I've always found ventriloquist dummys frightening and stories about them to be especially scary. BRIDE OF THE LIVING DUMMY is no exception and is spooky even at the end.

I usualy don't get into a book like I did this one.Its pretty hard for me to get into in the first page, thats how good it is.I will tell you right now you will not what to put this book down. The 2000 series are alot better than the regular ones. But I have to say Deep Troble is a good one even though its one of the older ones.
This book has alot of suspense in the first chapter. With her bother screming bloody murder it gets you in to the book right then.It gets you into it really fast. This book ends in a good thing, but you don't want to put it down and you don't want the book to end. Just read the book if you want a scare!!!!!!!!!!!

I was very impressed with this goosebumps book. This is one of the scarier ones in the series. This book is about a boy named Jerry who just moved into a new house with his mom and his dad. His parents thinks that he should do more, so he decides to take piano lessons. His piano teacher, Dr.Shreek is kind of creepy to. Ever since Jerry started taking piano lessons he hears the piano playing every night by its self. This book is scary and its one that you don't want to put down after you start reading it. I also liked the ending to this book.

When Jerome and his family move to Cedarville, he's not too happy to have left behind his old friends...or that they are moving into a much bigger house. As he begins to explore the house he warms up to the idea slowly when he discovers an attic and in the attic is an old piano. He decides that it might be fun to learn...but that's before he hears it playing itself at night and before he meets Dr. Shreek, the very hand obsessed music instructor who runs the music school outside of town. He doesn't think too much of it until he meets Kim his schoolmate and neighbor and she practically runs screaming from the area when he tells her he's studying piano with Dr. Shreek...shortly afterward he notices that the music school is weird, and he keeps running into Mr. Toggle, the maintenance guy at the school who is apparently some sort of mechanical genius...will Jerome be able to figure out what's going on at the school before he winds up as one of those students who goes in for a lesson and never comes out!

Overall, not bad for the series, the characters are lightly drawn and the plot moves along quickly. Like all books in this series, this one has the signature Twilight Zone-esque ending. I give it three stars; it's entertaining and has a few genuinely creepy moments.

I had been taking piano lessons since a young age and when I heard about this book I thought it would be creepy, but then later on I began to read the goosebumps series and I really really loved them, so once I familiarized myself with the books and realized they are not frightening, but just entertaning thrillers catered to preteens, I got this book and I still pull it out time to time 10 years later! I liked jerry's character a lot and the descriptions of the story, I almost felt like I was watching a movie. I recall there being an episode about this book but I never got a chance to watch it. But don't ever let this story keep you from taking music lessons though I wouldn't blame you if this book made you giggle over them

This is absolutley the best goosebumps book I have read yet. Stine uses amazing detail and even more amazing plots.

The story begins when Greg's english teacher doesnt believe his report, so Greg decides to prove it. He brings back the camera and accidentaly snaps a photo of his friend Shari, who snaps a photo at Greg in return. Now this is no ordinary camera, the pictures show odd things, odd things that always come true. Shari's photo comes out negative...what will happen to her? But Greg's is very clear, the photo shows him weiging 400 pounds! Soon greg is ripping his pants, getting stuck in chairs, and gaining weight by the hundreds! Will Greg ever return to normal?

The only bad part of this book is that there is a cliffhanger right at the end, and as we all know, R.L. Stine has discontinued the goosebumps books, so we may never find out the rest of the unfinished plot....

The Goosebumps series is a great way to get children interested in reading. The books are short and easy to read, and the gross-out situations are tailor-made for the enjoyment of young readers.

This is number 44, which continues the adventure of an earlier book (Number 4). Greg Banks is having a hard time at school because his teacher doesn't believe his supposedly true story of a cursed camera. The camera in question was found in the basement of an old haunted house, and the image that pops up when a picture is taken is never good news for the unlucky subject. If he doesn't get a passing grade, he doesn't get to go on vacation, a fate which to Greg is worse than death.

Against the wishes of his friends, he retrieves the evil camera, and takes it to school to prove his case. Of course things never go as planned, but you'll have to read it to see what develops.

'Truth or Dare' is a really great book. It's one of R L Stine's best. It's a mystery full of suspenses. A little too much killing, though. I loved it so much that I couldn't put it down.
There were seven friends who went to snow. They decided to have fun. But since it was snowing so hard, they played a game of 'truth or dare' inside the cabin. Josh, the shy one, got mad at a girl called Dara when she nearly embarrassed him. And April nearly gave away a secret that kills.
The next day, they found Dara dead. She had been murdered. Now April thinks that the killer is one of her friends.
I recommend this book to anyone that is brave enough to read a book that has blood. It was kind of cool and shocking at the end. I was so curious that I read the answer. I didn't mean to do that!
The coda is that the truth are more dangerous than the dare.

This book is about a couple of friends were asked to go skiing for the weekend. There was a big snowstorm outside and that meant that they couldn't go skiing. They began to start to play a game of "Truth or Dare" in the chalet.During the game,a deep and terrible secret gots out, but no one really thought that it was a big deal until one of their friends was found dead outside and another was missing,And the jeep, the only car was stolen. Then they started to suspect each other after they found out that two of their friends were dead. But there was no way to get home.
I think this story has many good plots and a very twisted ending, it is very suspenseful! You would not be able to put it down unit you finished the last page of this book. The other advantage of this book is it written in the first person, so that it really makes me feel like I am part of April's (the main character)world. So I think it is the best detective and scary story amount the others.

Some of the goosebumps books can move so quickly that you end up a bit lost and have to go back and re-read to truly figure things out. This book is great in that R.L. Stine takes his time and leaves you wondering just WHO is the ghost next door...It's a mystery of sorts, and when the reality comes out, all readers (or listeners) will be shocked! Stine does a GREAT job of keeping you wondering, and that's what makes for a great mystery book.

There's something weird about Hannah's new next door neighbour Danny. She can't remember moving trucks or anything to do with his family moving in but he tells her he's her new neighbour. She has been pretty much home 24hrs a day as its school holidays and her friend Janey is away at camp and hasn't bothered to even write to her so she's been rather bored. She should have noticed a new family moving in but why didn't she? He tells her he's in the same grade as her and goes to her school but she's never seen him before or the two friends he hangs around with. Why can't his mum seem to hear her when she goes over to talk to Danny? There's something not quite right here and why does some mysterious weirdo keep lurking in the shadows and following her around?

The Ghost Next Door is one of Stine's best books, like most it is fairly predictable but the fun is still there until the last page.

Hannah Farichild is not enjoying her summer vacation as much as she would like¡Kshe didn¡¦t get to go away to camp with her friends this year, even worse than that is they aren¡¦t answering her letters. She can hardly wait for summer to be over and for 8th grade to start so that she can see her friends again¡Kbecause they seems to have fallen off the planet, they¡¦ve not written her once the entire summer. One day when she is bored out of her mind she literally runs into Danny Anderson¡Kthat¡¦s strange, she¡¦s never seen him before and yet he says he¡¦s living right next door to her. From there The Ghost Next Door turns into a fast paced ¡§mystery¡¨ as Hannah tries to find out more about Danny, his friends and the mystery behind why he seems to disappear so quickly when she¡¦s trying to follow him. Is he REALLY her new neighbor or is he a ghost?

I figured out the ending to this less than halfway though the book, but it was still interesting to watch Hannah puzzle it all out. The Ghost Next Door is a light, easy read¡Ka easy to solve ¡§mystery¡¨ with the typical twist that all of Stine¡¦s books seem to possess¡Kthings aren¡¦t always what they seem and I rather like that about this series¡Kyou always find yourself wondering what the ¡§surprise twist¡¨ is going to be. º Overall, I give The Ghost Next Door three stars, it¡¦s a quick read with likeable characters (mostly) that is pretty easy to figure out.

R.L. Stine is such a talented author and I think this is one of his best books. This book is about a girl named hannah and she meets the new boy, danny who just moved in next door to her. After Danny moves in weird things start happening that makes Hannah believe that Danny is a ghost. This book has a huge twist to. You have to read this one, it is one of the best in the series.

Hannah Fairchild has a new neighbor. No big deal right? Well, the problem is that when he moved in she never saw a moving truck, and she lives right next door! When Danny (the new neighbor) moved in, everything got really weird. Everytime Hannah talkes to him he dissapers. To top it all off, a strange shadow figure is following Hannah and knows her name. Can Hannah's new neighbor be the ghost next door?

another one of my favorites! A kid named Jack Johnson is always getting picked on by Wilson Schlame. Then Jack runs into an abandoned place, after Wilson makes him angry. In there, Jack finds a weird book called Flying Lessons. After learning from the book, Jack is soon flying. Then Jack is in for a big surprise! (hint: its Wilson!). Youll have to read the book to see what happens to Jack

I really loved this book a lot. I reccommend this book to anyone who likes books that are pretty scary. This book is good for kids from 8-12 years old. In this book Jack has a friend named Mia who he really likes. Jack also has a rival named Wilson who always tries to beat him to impress Mia. Wilson always does seem to beat Jack at everything. His dog wins, he gets better grades, and Wilson even beats Jack when they race. At Mia's birthday part Jack gets Mia a CD from her favorite band. Then Wilson gives her tickets to the same band concert and Jack gets really mad. Later the kids play Twister and Jack rips his pants. He runs away from the party and while he his hiding in a deserted house he finds a book that shows humans flying. To find out what Jack does with the book read How I Learned to Fly.
