I read a story called The Beast from the East, a Goosebumps book by R.L. Stine. There are many characters in this book like Ginger "she's the sensible one", Nat the tree climber, Pat Nat's brother, and of course the beasts. They get lost in the weird part of the woods, and then they meet the beasts. They have to play the beasts game, and if they lose just trust me they don't want to lose. I give these book three stars because it wasn't scary enough. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good thrill.

Ginger Wald has to go on a camping trip with her Mom, Dad and her twin brothers Nat and Pat. Nat and Pat look so much alike they confuse each other. Then when they go exploring they get lost in a weird part of the jungle. The grass is yellow, the bushes are purple and the trees are like skyscrapers. Then they meet the beasts tall blue furry creatures with small eyes. They want Ginger to play a game like Tag, except the losers get eaten.
Stand on the free lunch square and you get eaten. Get yourself wrapped around by snakes and thats double snake eyes you get twenty points. If you get bitten you get awarded a triple hisser which is worth sixty points.Touch the penalty rock and you get thrown a cage to be eaten later. If you get yellow, blue and orange colors on your hand, which are called Nubloff colors, then you are awarded fifty points.
Will Ginger defeat the beasts in their crazy game? Read The Beast from the East and you'll find out.

I love all of the goosebump and fearstreet books that R.L Stine has written, but this one is my absolute favorite of all time books, ever!!!!! I wish that R.L Stine would write a part two of the Beast From the East, or better yet, do a movie on it!! that would be so coooooooooooollll!!!!!!!! My most favorite part is when Ginger and Pat have to get in that small cave with all those bugs in it!! EWWWWWWWWW! That would be sooo gross if you actually had to do that some time!! Anyway, all I wanted to say is that the book IS cool, so DO get it, and I SO DO wish that they would make a movie out of it. And one more thing, R.L STINE RULES!!!!!
I love it!

The Beast from the East is an awesome book. When I was reading it, I felt like I was there, escaping from all the dangers of the woods with Ginger Wald and her identical twin brothers, Nat and Pat. While on a picnic, Ginger's parents tell her, Nat, and Pat to go into the woods and explore for a while. So they do. After a long time, they get lost, and have no clue which way to go. While talking about getting back to their camp site, they find a GIGANTIC footprint and the ground suddenly starts to shake. That forces them to hide behind some of the strange-looking plants. Then, they meet the blue, furry, beasts. They seem friendly....sort of. They want to play a game similar to tag. But in the game, if you're It when it ends......you get eaten. The ending of the book is creepy. R.L. Stine sure knows how to write a book. I didn't want to put it down. I know that a lot of kids will really, REALLY enjoy this great Goosebumps book.

This is the one of the many books of the Fear Street series, and it's really good. Fear Street is a series about scary and/or supernatural events that happen to teenagers in a ficitional town called Shadyside. In this book, an attractive wealthy girl named Carter is panicked about failing the math portion of her SAT's. Her dad is a judge, and has big plans for her to go to an Ivy League college. Panicked, pressured, and scared, she gets a boy from the bad side of town who happens to be brilliant in math take the exam for her. However, their original agreement isn't enough, and he keeps blackmailing her for more and more. The reader feels for Carter as she slips deeper and deeper with each lie she tells. Will she ever be free of this, and how??This has a pretty good twist ending and gives a good taste of future books in the series.Pulitizer material it's not, but for young teens, or anyone wanting a quick thrilling read, this suits the bill just fine. This is one of my fave books in this series!

This book was different, it had like a stalker plot to it. the guy who stalks the girl sort of thing. It follows the R.L. stine fear street thing, her living on fear street and bad things happening so yea the book was pretty good.

I have always enjoyed reading novels by R.L. Stine, from his series of Goosebumps to his Fear Street, and this one - "The Cheater," was no exception. This is my second time reading this novel, the overall experience was exhilarating.
In my opinion, the plot was predictable - I knew it was Dan who killed Adam all along. In chapter 14, Dan tells Carter not to give any more money to Adam, but Carter panics and explains giving money is her only way out. Prior to leaving Carter's house, Dan promised, "I'll try to think of something." At the end of this chapter, the police found Adam dead. However, the most surprising part of this thriller is the identity of the man who attempts to kill Carter.

Carter's dad pressures her into making a 700 on her math exam in order to get into Princeton. Her dad is a judge and a Princeton graduate. Carter knows she can't make that high of a score in math. . . . without cheating. Does she cheat to satisfy her dad? If so, does she get caught? If so, does that put her under more pressure and stress? I will not answer these questions because that will ruin the book for those who haven't read it.
Carter has a boyfriend who is crazy over her. . .
Even though it did have a little bit to do with the plot, it bothered me that a pretty young girl's name was Carter. . . How yuck.
The ending was pretty good. I would recommend this book to a teen but not to an adult (unless they are a die-hard fun-loving adult like me).

This is one of the few Goosebumps books that we've seen a recording of the television show that was made...and I have to say, in this case, the television episode was actually better than the book version. This The Haunted Mask is the story of Carly Beth just fed up with being wimpy, wimpy, wimpy...tired of constantly being teased, pranked, and scared by her friends Carly Beth is determined to get the scariest Halloween mask ever and show her friends that she's not such a wimp after all. As with all things in the R.L Stine universe, Carly Beth's quest to teach her tormenters a lesson comes with a hefty price.
On the night of Halloween, she just can't bring herself to put on the not-so-scary costume her mother's made for her, instead she runs out to a shop and finds "the perfect mask" in the back room of the store, unfortunately the owner is hesitant to part with it...ultimately she gets the mask and embarks on what she thinks will be the best get even Halloween scare ever...until she realizes that the mask much more than an ugly face to care her friends with and that she may become trapped inside as it begins to change her personality as well. Will Carly Beth get the mask off? You'll have to read to find out!
Not as enjoyable as I'd have liked...The Haunted Mask isn't a "bad" book, for me it boils down to feeling no connection to any of the characters...we don't get to know Carly Beth before we see her pranked, teased and scared constantly and the picture the reader gets is that if these are her friends, she sure doesn't need any enemies...they're downright mean, the goal seems to be to embarrass her more than anything else. I think young readers would enjoy The Haunted Mask, as a whole it is one of the scarier premises of the series but for me personally, this was a flop. I didn't think the interaction between the friends was indicative of "friend" behavior, it felt mean spirited perhaps if the build up to Halloween had been longer and we'd gotten to know the four friends just a bit more, this would have been a better read. Overall, I felt a bit let down, I rate this at three stars because the idea behind it is good, but the execution and character development was really lacking.

Sixth grader Steve Boswell has a problem, a very serious problem. He has been sentenced to coach a 1st grade soccer team as punishment for a prank gone wrong. As if losing every afternoon after school was not enough the team of 6 year olds seem determined to destroy him with their antics. Steve has decided to extract revenge by scaring them with a Halloween prank. His plans call for a particularly frightening costume, like the one a classmate scared him with the previous year. When he asked about the mask, however, his classmate was very reluctant to tell where she had gotten the mask. After Steve did manage to get the information she pleaded with him not to get a mask. Before Halloween was over Steve wished he had listened to her.
This is part of the popular GOOSEBUMPS series targeted to 9 to 12 year olds (Reading level 4th grade). As with the rest of the series this one is rather scary and very gross, totally appealing to it's pre-teen audience. Also attractive to this group is the organization of the story into short cliff-hanger chapters urging the reader to continue. The book itself is quite short, only 124 pages - most adults would be able to finish it in less than an hour - making it likely to hold the interest of even a reluctant reader until the end.

Micheal has an annoying little sister Tara. He feels he is always being blamed when Tara misbehaves.
The sibling's father brings home an old cuckoo. The dad sternly tells Tara not too touch it. This gives Micheal an idea.
Once alone with it, he messes with the clock. This action leads to a big mistake!
Micheal goes to bed waking up to a birthday he had celebrated earlier. He tries to fix the flop party, failing once again.
The further in time he goes back, he worries of no longer existing,as frightening thought for a teenage boy?
Can he do it? If he makes it back, will everything return to normal!?
While many horror stories have some sort of monster, fear here lies in the unknown.

I made the mistake of reading reviews before I read the book - and half of them seem to refer to things that didn't happen! Michael's little sister doesn't threaten his life, the bird doesn't attack Michael and the shopkeeper doesn't tell a scary story about the clock.
Michael is 12, big brother to seven-year-old Tara, a top contender for "Worst Little Sister in the World". He gets blamed for everything she does, and that's no accident! Tara sets him up, over and over, even ruining his birthday and embarrassing him in front of his friends. When their father brings home an antique cuckoo clock that Tara can hardly keep her hands off, Michael sees a chance to get even. Twisting the head of the cuckoo to face backwards, Michael is sure Tara will be blamed. That doesn't happen, because when he wakes up, it's his 12th birthday - again! - and they don't even own the clock yet. Michael needs to turn time around again before it's too late (or early...) for him!
Stine's horror story for kids is too funny to be horror this time, but it's worth reading anyway. You'll appreciate your own siblings a little more - unless they're worse than Tara, which is hard to imagine.

The charecter developement is finominal! I loved hating the charecter Halie. She the most hated and loved charecter in the entire book! I suspected she was the murderer but the TRUE muderer will really shock you. In the book, my suspicions went back and forth, and toward the end i suspected everyone, i was so suprised. the thing that really ruins a book is predictibility, but this book didn't have much of that at all! It was great and im reading it for my third time. The second is not as good though.

The main character, Brenda, and her two best friends, Traci and Dina, have to write a Halloween story together for English class.
Brenda's cousin, Halley, moves in with Brenda's family. Brenda does not like Halley. Halley is a pest, and steals Brenda's and other's boyfriends. Brenda's parents adore Halley and are not sensitive to Brenda's irritation.
Brenda receives unpleasant Halloween horror pranks, and her parents are not sensitive to those, either. They don't understand why she's so upset.
In the fictional Halloween story for English class, they (Brenda, Traci, and Dina) decide to horrify Halley. But will they actually do it in real life?
This is a really fun book. I love R.L. Stine, and I love fun Halloween books. I will never get too old for fun.

I have the movie and book of How I got My Shrunken Head. It really doesn't have to do with goosebumps if you read this one carefuly. It is about a kid going to visit his aunt in the jungles of Baladora. In the book he has a sister Jessica, she did not appear in the movie. Then there was a mexican plane flyer in the game, he was not in this. This is the 39th goosebumps book out of 62.The cover of this book had dark green and green on the top, jungle colors. Then you have the shrunken head on the dresser. This was the third goosebumps book I ever heard.

I think people should read this book, because it is a mixture of suspense, adventure, and action. You should read this book if you are really into those kinds of books. You should also read this book if you like scaring yourself. The suspense events always keep you scared day and night.
The main situation is that Mark goes to a mysterious island and doesn't know what he got himself into. He has to find his aunt or try to find a way to escape the island before time runs out or he will be killed.

Someone would want to read this book because it is adventurous and suspenseful. The summary is not very revealing, making you want to read it. If you're a person that likes getting scared, then this is the book for you.The suspense always keeps you at the edge of your seat. The shrunken head puts it all together.
The central problem in the book is that Aunt Benna sends Mark a shrunken head that starts to glow. Then when Mark goes to the island,he finds out that the other explorers want to kill Aunt Benna and him. Mark has to find a way to save Aunt Benna and get off the island.

Julie and her friends, Hillary, Taylor, Sandy and Vincent, all hated Al. Al used to be part of their group, he used be their friend. Just lately he started hanging out with some tough guys from a city called Waynesbridge, which is near Shadyside. They drink beer and smoke. Al has started drinking and smoking to now. Al is always drunk. Hillary, Julie and Taylor were hanging out at Julie's house. Taylor just became part of their group. She just moved here and is going out with Sandy. So she became part of the group. When they were hanging out, Al came to the backdoor. They went to answer it and saw Al. He was completely drunk. He started bugging them. Then he threw a beer can into the sink. He started asking for $20. But Julie wouldn't give it to him. Then he lit a cigarette. Julie's parents don't allow smoking at their house. So he threatened to make a cigarette burn on the counter if she didn't give him the money. Then he dropped it onto the floor. He started pestering Hillary. He said that if she didn't give him the money then he would tell the teacher that she cheated on the chemistry test. But Hillary didn't cheat; Al GAVE the answers to her. She didn't ask for them. Al was blackmailing them all. So Hillary gave him the money. When Al was leaving, Julie's mom walked in. She saw the beer bottle and the still lit cigarette and grounded Julie. Julie tried to tell her mom it was Al's fault but she wouldn't listen. After that, Al started bugging Hillary, he started borrowing money or her car. He was blackmailing her, along with Julie. They went over to Sandy's house. He told them that Al got into a fight and was suspended from school. Then Al was at the back door. He came in and stated pestering them. He looked in the refrigerator. And was asking if they had any beer. They said no. They realized that he was REALLY drunk this time. Sandy tried to calm him down and he punched Sandy and knocked out his tooth. Then Hillary went on a rampage and attacked him. Al thought he could fight and beat Hillary but he was surprised to see that she was just as strong as he was so he left. Julie was late to meeting Vincent for a chemistry experiment. When she got there he was pacing in his yard. He wasn't goofing around like usually. He was worried. He told Julie that he let Al borrow his parent's car. Vincent went out for a ride the other night in the car when he wasn't supposed to. He accidentally sped and got a ticket. Al was walking by when he got a ticket. Al threatened to tell his parents about the speeding ticket if Vincent didn't let him borrow the car. He promised to return it when Vincent got home. But now he was late. Then they saw the car come down the road. It was totaled. Al said it wasn't his fault. Yeah right. Vincent was so upset. When his parents got home he was grounded for life. Julie went rollerblading with her friends. Then everyone had left and she skated a little longer. Then when she went into the alley she found Al... Dead! Everyone thought she killed him but the detectives believed her. Then after the funeral they all went to Sandy's house. He got them into a group for a confession... He killed Al...
Not bad... but not too exciting.

I liked it. But i didn't love it. R.L.stine has done better. I suggest "the halloween party" if you want to see a good book. the goosebump books are really good too. This book was predictable and boring. UNEVENTFUL throughout most of the book. The good parts were here and there, there was some good parts. But i have read better from R.L. Stine and this is not one of his best. Don't let the awsome cover decive you.

Julie, Hillary, Taylor, Sandy, and Vincent all hate Al. Al has been ruining all their lives and getting them in trouble. But that doesn't mean that they want to kill him. Right? Wrong! Not when Sanndy confesses the murder. But we know Sandy will never kill agin... Right?

This book The Confession by R.L. Stine is one of
the Fear Street Series. This is no doubt a great book. The
end of this book had a huge twist, one you never would
have guessed in a million years! This is my first Fear
Street book but I am certain it won't be my last!
A group of students a Shady Side High School
are being Bullied by Al, a tough kid in their school.
He always is making them give him money or beer.
If they refuse, he either blackmails them or threatens
them. When bad goes to worse, he is found dead
in the alley way. Who did it? They all hated Ll, but who
would murder him? Who?
I would recommend this book to 6th and 7th graders
because of the creepy and scary parts. I was creeped out when a girl
goes into her garage to find the killer in the back walking to
her. The book takes about a week to finish if your a fast reader.
Maybe two for a slower one.

'The Secret' is a story about revenge and secrets. it's quite good but too many killings.
anyway, it's about a fier called ezra who needs revenge. but instead, the curse still carries on. first, his daughter died. then his wife. his son, jonathan, fell in love with a beautiful girl called delilah. but does she have a secret?
100 years later a girl called elizabeth fier fell in love with a goode. her sister also love him. but they do not know that he is evil. at the end, simon, elizabeth's brother, decided to change his last name- FEAR.
this book is kind of good except there are too many killings.

Hi, im a 7th grader that goes to Greenfeild middle school, and i just read this amazing book called [The Secret.] This book is mainly about a family secret between the Fiers and the goodes family. I liked this book because it was exiting and scary, and there was fiers killing the goodes and the goodes killing the fiers. In the beging of the book the fier family went to a village and every body was dead. And so they left and as they were on there way they found a farm owned by the goodes. So the fier family moved into the farm and lived there. And when simons littlen sister wanted to go to the village, simon the brother told her [NO] but she refoused to go back. Simon was walking around looking for his little sister. When he found her she was playing with a little named Hester. And to find out the rest you have to read the book called The Secret.

`The Secret' by R.L. Stine is the second installment to the horrifying `Fear Street Saga...where the terror began' trilogy. This time, the story continues with Ezra Fier (son of Edward), now a grown family man, searching for the Goodes (particularly George), in order to take his revenge on them. Ezra, along with his wife Jane, and his children Jonathan (the oldest), Abigail (middle), and Rachel (the youngest child), visit the Wickham Village to search for any member of the Goode family. However, they receive a shock when they discover that all the residents of the village are now dead corpses, who perished when a plague hit the village. Later, Ezra and Jonathan learn that the Goodes were responsible for the plague, and that they escaped the village before they suffered. But are all the members of the village really dead? For Abigail makes friends with a small girl named Hester, of whom Jonathan feels a little suspicious of.
As the story continues, Jonathan meets a pretty girl named Delilah. However, is she really who she claims to be? Jonathan ends the family feud once and for all, but the evil rises again after 100 years later, when Elizabeth Fier digs out a metal box from the Earth and finds a strange looking amulet inside it. A new visitor suddenly drops in the Fier house by the name of Frank, claiming to be a drifter. The Fier family takes him in, only to realize the terror that lay ahead of them.
This book has so many twists and turns in it, that it is hard to put the book down. A village of dead bodies, a ghost who lives in the village, a witch who lives in the woods, are just some of the interesting elements thrown into this scary tale. R.L. Stine continues telling his story of the family feud in his own charming manner. All in all, this was a good continuation to `The Betrayal', which leaves in a mysterious note, wanting to read the next installment in the series `The Burning'.

If you like thrillers, here' a real thrill. It's been a while since I've read it and I've read TONS of his books- and trust me, if I ever start selling stuff on here, I promice you they'll be in amazeing condishion, try lookin' new! Anyways, to the book. It takes place in two points of view, both the girl and boys! From what I remember, it has a pretty good ending- but, again, I do low standerds for good endings. He write okay endings and Lurlene McDaniel (my other fave author)has death endings. Still, she's great, you should check her out! So is R.L., just get the book, great adition to your collection!

The first time I read it, I didn't like it. The fact I knew who the killer was kinda took all the suspense out of it. But then, when I read it the 2nd time, I ended up actually liking it.
Scott is a weird character. I wear make up and dress up too, and honestly, I would get really freaked out if somebody was trying to kill me because of that.
i liked the characters. I liked how the relationship between Crystal and her sister Melinda is portrayed. And I liked how RL Stine gives us an insight to Scott's twisted mind.
I wouldn't recommend this book if you like suspense, but if you read for the plot and characters, you should definately read it.

The Boy Next Door, by R.L.Stine, is a very unique book to the Fear Street series.
It describes Scott, the boy next door, who is a mad killer, and three girls who are madly in love with Scott.
Scott is a truly creepy dude. He is a football star, but hates girls who wear makeup or dress skimply. In his mind, it is his duty to kill all the girls who do these rather normal things.
Scott is the whole point of this book, and Stine makes him a truly scary and mad character.
