Bad Moonlight Book Review

Imagine you just joined a band and became the lead singer. You're so happy, but while you are traveling with the band weird things start to happen. There's strange sounds coming for outside your hotel window, you fell strange like there's something inside of you trying to get out. Then one night a band member is killed. This is what Danielle Verona has to face in Bad Moonlight by R.L.Stine.
In this story Danielle Verona is a normal girl with a dream of becoming the lead singer in a band, there's only one thing different about her that is three years ago her parents were killed in a car wreak. After joining the band she starts feeling strange under the moonlight. She starts acting weird and soon she starts acting like an animal. She starts drinking from puddles on the side of the road, and running for no reason, and creating songs about death and killing. She has weird fantasies that would happen at any given time and place and Danielle couldn't help it. She would have fantasies about her killing people she so loved and about how her parents didn't die in a car wreak but her ripping them to shreds all these fantasies about her killing all these people she loved so dear.
She doesn't know what going on and than one day one of the band members is found dead lying on the ground ripped to shreds by a wild animal. She had dreams that her friends would die that her parents died by being ripped to shreds by a wild animal and she was right so right. One day she finds out something that was kept secret from her for three years.
If you like horror with a bit of mystery then you'll want to read this book and maybe some of R.L.Stine other books for children and adult alike.

I LOVED this book!! Definitly 1 of R.L. Stine's best. Supense, horror, and a bit of a mystery, this book has it all. When wierd things start happening to Danille, she doesn't know what to do. With band members dying and the odd things Danille keeps doing... well, you'll have to read it to find out what will happen to Danille. This book has a great ending!

This is the one of the many books of the Fear Street series, and it's really good. Fear Street is a series about scary and/or supernatural events that happen to teenagers in a ficitional town called Shadyside. In this book, best friends Jade and Deena and Deena's half brother Chuck get into ddep trouble making crank calls. The girls got caught by Chuck teasing boys at school, and he calls a random number on Fear Street and gets begged for help by a woman about to be murdered. The characters and plot are better than the average Stine book, and this book has a decent sequal. This has a pretty good twist ending and gives a good taste of future books in the series.Pulitizer material it's not, but for young teens, or anyone wanting a quick thrilling read, this suits the bill just fine.

I liked this book a lot because it made me want to keep on reading to find what happened next.
The book was about three teenagers who were having fun with prank phone calls. Then Chuck called a number on Fear Street and they got involved with a murder. When the three teenagers Jade, Deena, and Chuck go over to Fear Street, they go to house number 884. They went to the back door and it looked like someone had trashed the place. When all three of them were inside, they saw a dead body on the floor. They also saw a man in a mask. When Jade, Deena, and Chuck talked to the police, they did not believe a single word that they said. The police think that Chuck is the killer because his finger prints were the only prints in the house and he has been in trouble with the police before.
I would recommend this book to someone who likes to read mystery and horror books. I would recommend this book to someone who likes mystery books because you never know what is going to happen next and you are trying to find out who the killer is. I would also recommend this book to someone who likes to read horror books because someone dies.

First off i love all fear street and R.L Stine books im not saying this was a horrible book......but most of the story was a little dull.....They get a phone call from some random lady and they over hear her getting killed. That was the best part of the whole book. But most of it is these 2 girls having problems with realationships.......and making calls to stupid ppl...like i said b4 this is a not a terrible book but i wouldnt recommend it.

The most important thing I remembered about this book "The Wrong Number," was that it was super interesting and intense! Someone else would definitely want to read this book because it stays very good throughout the whole story. It really keeps you interested and wanting to read more. Any one who is any age can relate to this book. Since, it is about two teenage girls, a boy might want to read the back of the book first.

My favorite section of this book is when the two girls obviously make the wrong call. They have caller i.d., and then they track down the person that made the call. After that, the girls go down the Fear Street rode and hear screams coming from the caller's house. The two girls fear for their lives as they try to catch the murderer in action. I recommend this book immensely.

A Great Book!

Deena has a new phone so she and her best friend use the phone to make prank phone calls. But Chuck finds out that Deena and Jade are making phone calls. He insists that they let him join or else he'll tell. So Deena and Jade let him join. Then Chuck calls a house on Fear Street and interrupts a murder. Deena, Jade and Chuck go to the address to help the woman screaming. But it's too late because the woman is already is dead. A masked man chases the three warning them to mind their own business. One day after, the police drag Chuck to jail, now that everyone at Shadyside knows that Deena, Jade and Chuck are the ones behind the prank phone calls. The police say that someone saw Deena, Jade and Chuck that night. It was Mr. Farberson. Deena and Jade know that Farberson is wrong so they decide to find out more about him. If you want to find out more, bread this book.

Whooa, I think I still have all three parts of this series. I was a big R L Stine fan. I started off with goosebumps, and quickely moved to the fear street series. I had ALL of the books in the fear street series (this was in 92-97). I gave alot of them to my younger cousins or family friends, but reading some of these reviews, I may just have to locate one and take a hour (thats all it takes now lol) to read one(sad thing is, that I am an 26 yr old) LOL. I like the fear street cheerleader sage (even though I didnt know they had a fourth installment), and the Fear Street Saga (The very first 3, but I see they added ALOT MORE to the fear street history. Reading some of these reviews is like going back in a time machine LOL

I love this book. I had finished reading it and couldnt stop thinking about it. I first read it when i took it out of the library. But i had to buy it. My favorite character was Bobbi. I was so upset when she died. I have read all the cheerleader books and this is my favorite. I wrote a book that has cheerleaders in it but it is totally different. R.L Stine is a great author.

Stine is a great YA author, but this book really sucks. He's written so many good books, I feel like this was just a rush job he slipped in and they published it because of who he was. The main character Joanna, is a real snob who treats people really bad. She has a boyfriend and he dies and then it appears he haunting her. I know a lot of his books are far fetched, but this one is way too unbelievable. Also, Joanna is so unlikable that readers will be wishing for her death, not wanting her to solve any mysteries. Don't waste your time or money on this stinker.

The Boyfriend is an adventure and mystery for young readers. It honestly kept me guessing the whole time I was reading it. It starts out with the main character Joanna at the mall about to go on a date with her boyfriend Dex. Joanna is the kind of girl thats very rich, ever since her dad left her and her mom when she was little. At the mall she decides that she dosen't like him that muchand stands himup and leaves him there waiting for her. Later in the middle of the night she was sleeping and a knock at her bedroom window wakes her up, it was Dex, Dex always had a habbit of showing up at her window in the middle of the night. She lets him in. Than he asked her why she wasn't at the mall, and as usual she makes up a lie and says she forgot they had a date. He soon tells her to get dressed that there going to the Promontory. When they got there Dex started walking toward the cliff, Joanna walked after him. Joanna was sorta sad/mad mood, so Dex tried to get her attention so her so he started hopping on one foot, Joanna had begged him to stop, but than crack the ground under his feet started to crumble, "No"Joanna cried out, and in an instant Dex was gone. A while after that she got the news from his best friend Pete that Dex was dead. A couple days later Joanna was in her bed room, when she heard a knock at her window, "who could that be at this time of night?" Joanna asked herself. She turned her bedroom light on at her windoe there was a boy's face, "No it can't be, Dex?" she cried out. The figure started to make his way inside her bedroom. "Hi Joanna, its me Dex, whats wrong?" he asked her. "But Dex your dead!" She screamed.

The book that I read was The Boyfriend and that was a very good desicion. It is in the horror genre and it really is scary. The plot line of this story is a girl wants to break up with her boyfriend but before she does he dies but then he comes back from the dead to haunt her. I really liked this book it was really real except for the zombies. The only part I didn't love was the fact that about 3 of the pages were kind of slow. My favorite charectar was the main charectar's best friend she was grounded, sweet, and nice even though she was rich. This book didn't have an intense learning part but I did like the part where she kind of understood what she did. I would recommened this book in a second, it was really awesome. If I could ask the author one question it would be where did you get your inpiration. I really liked this book because the charectars were really strong with there roles.

Do you like super chills? Do you like it when goose bumps grow or when your eyeballs pop out of your sockets? If you do "Silent Night" by R.L. Stine is just for you. This book is the ultimate prize. It has everything needed if you like horror books. This is one of the best horror books I ever read. Do you want to know about it?This book is about a girl named Reva.
Everyone in the world she meets thinks she's a snob , you would too if you played a role in this story. She believes she can have anything and anyone she wants. Her dad owns Dalby's Department Store after all , and Reva's very spoiled because of that , but when her own cousin Pam robs the store with a few of her friends , finds a needle in her liptstick and someone murders Mitch she's ready to give up and shake in her boots. You would too. Murder was gift wrapped to her as a present. This was the best book I've read all year and I think you'll like it too so buy it ASAP!!!!!!!!!

I read this book for the first time about ten years ago and absolutely loved it! In elementary and middle school, I was an R.L. Stine fanatic. I have read many of his books, and to this day, the "Silent Night" trilogy is my favorite--this one coming in first. I'm 21 years old now and still love this book... During the summer or weekends, I often find myself picking this book up and have probably read it about 15 times now. It's kind of just a comforting (guilty) pleasure that takes me back to my childhood... The story is actually really creative and it's even better to me now because it was written so long ago that the fashions described in the story (and other R.L books) are laugh-out-loud funny. Tapered jeans, "diamond-like studs" in the guys' ears, the whole bit. It's just great! Also, in November and December, it's great to get in the holiday mood! Highly recommended!

This is the one of the many books of the Fear Street series, and it's really not one of the better ones. Fear Street is a series about scary and/or supernatural events that happen to teenagers in a ficitional town called Shadyside. In this book, a confusing, unlikable character is convinced that she has somehow switched bodies with a friend who's actually a killer. This has a pretty lame twist ending and gives a bad taste of future books in the series. Its sad that Nicole thought that her best friend , Lucy , was still alive. The reason why I am writing this is because when I started reading this book I felt sorry for Nicole for having a depressed life, then Lucy asked Nicole if she wanted to switch bodies. Then when I read the ending, I was shocked when Nicole found out what really happend to Lucy. The ending was so sad that I cried for hours. I give this book 5 stars.

Attack Of The Jack-O-Lanterns is an amazing book that anybody who loves Goosebumps will enjoy.

It's about these two kids, Walker and Drew who reunite with Drew's old friends Shane and Shauna. It is revealed that two kids, Lee and Tabitha have played pranks on the two for a long time. Shane and Shauna, twins, tell Drew and Walker to take them trick-or-treating, and they'll do the rest.

When Tabitha and Lee reluctantly agree to go trick-or-treating with Drew and Walker, they begin trick-or-treating when two creatures with jack-o-lanterns for heads take the four to a town where there is endless candy.

The ending is really great and original. This is one of the best books in the series, but the TV episode was much better, in my opinion. Below are the links to the two the two episode parts:

R.L. Stines 'Attack of the Jack-o'-Lanterns' is a good book for someone over 7. It is a mystery/ horror book. It is scary enough to be a little frightening, but not enough to keep you up at night. Well, no, but I wanted to write one, so here it is.!

I think that Goosebumps are great books for kids or the young at heart. They are extremely easy to read, but most of them have intriguing stories, some horrific moments, and relatable characters.

Attack of the Jack-o'-Lanterns is not my favorite Goosebumps story, but it is still clever and one for the underdog in you.

The story is about Drew, a twelve year old girl whom is fed-up with her long-time rivals Lee and Tabby, a pair of stuck-up buddies who get a kick out of tormenting and teasing Drew and her friends Walker, Shane, and Shawna. Shane and Shawna are twin brother/sister. Shane and Shawna were gone for a while, but now have come back just in time to help Drew.

Tabby and Lee have a history of pulling Halloween pranks on Drew and her friends, and this year Drew believes she has a sure-fire plan to get her revenge. That is until there have been many accounts of missing people. Which threatens her chances of trick-or-treating. But Drew wont give up and is determined to have her plans followed through.

Overall "Attack of the Jack-o'-Lantern" is a story that tells the tell of a tormented kid that rings true because, hey, it happens. Well I mean the getting teased part anyways. This is a fun revenge fantasy that involves some interesting twists. We've all been twick-or-treating(well most of us). And this is the tale of a trick-or-treating trip from hell as well.

So if you like Goosebumps, Halloween stories, or are looking for a fun and easy read, try "Attack of the Jack-o'-Lanterns". Its worth 2hrs of your time. :D

God Bless ~Amy

I read a story called The Beast from the East, a Goosebumps book by R.L. Stine. There are many characters in this book like Ginger "she's the sensible one", Nat the tree climber, Pat Nat's brother, and of course the beasts. They get lost in the weird part of the woods, and then they meet the beasts. They have to play the beasts game, and if they lose just trust me they don't want to lose. I give these book three stars because it wasn't scary enough. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good thrill.

Ginger Wald has to go on a camping trip with her Mom, Dad and her twin brothers Nat and Pat. Nat and Pat look so much alike they confuse each other. Then when they go exploring they get lost in a weird part of the jungle. The grass is yellow, the bushes are purple and the trees are like skyscrapers. Then they meet the beasts tall blue furry creatures with small eyes. They want Ginger to play a game like Tag, except the losers get eaten.

Stand on the free lunch square and you get eaten. Get yourself wrapped around by snakes and thats double snake eyes you get twenty points. If you get bitten you get awarded a triple hisser which is worth sixty points.Touch the penalty rock and you get thrown a cage to be eaten later. If you get yellow, blue and orange colors on your hand, which are called Nubloff colors, then you are awarded fifty points.

Will Ginger defeat the beasts in their crazy game? Read The Beast from the East and you'll find out.

It is the best book EVER!!!!!

I love all of the goosebump and fearstreet books that R.L Stine has written, but this one is my absolute favorite of all time books, ever!!!!! I wish that R.L Stine would write a part two of the Beast From the East, or better yet, do a movie on it!! that would be so coooooooooooollll!!!!!!!! My most favorite part is when Ginger and Pat have to get in that small cave with all those bugs in it!! EWWWWWWWWW! That would be sooo gross if you actually had to do that some time!! Anyway, all I wanted to say is that the book IS cool, so DO get it, and I SO DO wish that they would make a movie out of it. And one more thing, R.L STINE RULES!!!!!

I love it!

The Beast from the East is an awesome book. When I was reading it, I felt like I was there, escaping from all the dangers of the woods with Ginger Wald and her identical twin brothers, Nat and Pat. While on a picnic, Ginger's parents tell her, Nat, and Pat to go into the woods and explore for a while. So they do. After a long time, they get lost, and have no clue which way to go. While talking about getting back to their camp site, they find a GIGANTIC footprint and the ground suddenly starts to shake. That forces them to hide behind some of the strange-looking plants. Then, they meet the blue, furry, beasts. They seem friendly....sort of. They want to play a game similar to tag. But in the game, if you're It when it ends......you get eaten. The ending of the book is creepy. R.L. Stine sure knows how to write a book. I didn't want to put it down. I know that a lot of kids will really, REALLY enjoy this great Goosebumps book.

This is one of the few Goosebumps books that we've seen a recording of the television show that was made...and I have to say, in this case, the television episode was actually better than the book version. This The Haunted Mask is the story of Carly Beth just fed up with being wimpy, wimpy, wimpy...tired of constantly being teased, pranked, and scared by her friends Carly Beth is determined to get the scariest Halloween mask ever and show her friends that she's not such a wimp after all. As with all things in the R.L Stine universe, Carly Beth's quest to teach her tormenters a lesson comes with a hefty price.

On the night of Halloween, she just can't bring herself to put on the not-so-scary costume her mother's made for her, instead she runs out to a shop and finds "the perfect mask" in the back room of the store, unfortunately the owner is hesitant to part with it...ultimately she gets the mask and embarks on what she thinks will be the best get even Halloween scare ever...until she realizes that the mask much more than an ugly face to care her friends with and that she may become trapped inside as it begins to change her personality as well. Will Carly Beth get the mask off? You'll have to read to find out!

Not as enjoyable as I'd have liked...The Haunted Mask isn't a "bad" book, for me it boils down to feeling no connection to any of the characters...we don't get to know Carly Beth before we see her pranked, teased and scared constantly and the picture the reader gets is that if these are her friends, she sure doesn't need any enemies...they're downright mean, the goal seems to be to embarrass her more than anything else. I think young readers would enjoy The Haunted Mask, as a whole it is one of the scarier premises of the series but for me personally, this was a flop. I didn't think the interaction between the friends was indicative of "friend" behavior, it felt mean spirited perhaps if the build up to Halloween had been longer and we'd gotten to know the four friends just a bit more, this would have been a better read. Overall, I felt a bit let down, I rate this at three stars because the idea behind it is good, but the execution and character development was really lacking.

Sixth grader Steve Boswell has a problem, a very serious problem. He has been sentenced to coach a 1st grade soccer team as punishment for a prank gone wrong. As if losing every afternoon after school was not enough the team of 6 year olds seem determined to destroy him with their antics. Steve has decided to extract revenge by scaring them with a Halloween prank. His plans call for a particularly frightening costume, like the one a classmate scared him with the previous year. When he asked about the mask, however, his classmate was very reluctant to tell where she had gotten the mask. After Steve did manage to get the information she pleaded with him not to get a mask. Before Halloween was over Steve wished he had listened to her.

This is part of the popular GOOSEBUMPS series targeted to 9 to 12 year olds (Reading level 4th grade). As with the rest of the series this one is rather scary and very gross, totally appealing to it's pre-teen audience. Also attractive to this group is the organization of the story into short cliff-hanger chapters urging the reader to continue. The book itself is quite short, only 124 pages - most adults would be able to finish it in less than an hour - making it likely to hold the interest of even a reluctant reader until the end.

This book in not nearly as good as the first Haunted Mask by the same author. It never tied up the ending of the first book by explaining what happened to Karlie's brother. The rest of the story was too predicteble.

This is the one of the many books of the Fear Street series, and it's really good. Fear Street is a series about scary and/or supernatural events that happen to teenagers in a ficitional town called Shadyside. In this book, an attractive wealthy girl named Carter is panicked about failing the math portion of her SAT's. Her dad is a judge, and has big plans for her to go to an Ivy League college. Panicked, pressured, and scared, she gets a boy from the bad side of town who happens to be brilliant in math take the exam for her. However, their original agreement isn't enough, and he keeps blackmailing her for more and more. The reader feels for Carter as she slips deeper and deeper with each lie she tells. Will she ever be free of this, and how??This has a pretty good twist ending and gives a good taste of future books in the series.Pulitizer material it's not, but for young teens, or anyone wanting a quick thrilling read, this suits the bill just fine. This is one of my fave books in this series!

interesting...

This book was different, it had like a stalker plot to it. the guy who stalks the girl sort of thing. It follows the R.L. stine fear street thing, her living on fear street and bad things happening so yea the book was pretty good.

I have always enjoyed reading novels by R.L. Stine, from his series of Goosebumps to his Fear Street, and this one - "The Cheater," was no exception. This is my second time reading this novel, the overall experience was exhilarating.

In my opinion, the plot was predictable - I knew it was Dan who killed Adam all along. In chapter 14, Dan tells Carter not to give any more money to Adam, but Carter panics and explains giving money is her only way out. Prior to leaving Carter's house, Dan promised, "I'll try to think of something." At the end of this chapter, the police found Adam dead. However, the most surprising part of this thriller is the identity of the man who attempts to kill Carter.

A good read!

When I read the back cover of this, it didn't seem too interesting. But in fact, it's a solid read.

For me, it wasn't so much about discovering who the killer is in this book. The thing I liked more was portrayal of characters. I think Carter is a very interesting character, and so is Adam. I like how Carter's world is completely different than Adam's, and how it's described.

But don't think the plot was bad, not at all. It was a pretty suspensful book. Although I prefer Sunburn and Lights Out to this book, I still really liked it.

Carter's dad pressures her into making a 700 on her math exam in order to get into Princeton. Her dad is a judge and a Princeton graduate. Carter knows she can't make that high of a score in math. . . . without cheating. Does she cheat to satisfy her dad? If so, does she get caught? If so, does that put her under more pressure and stress? I will not answer these questions because that will ruin the book for those who haven't read it.

Carter has a boyfriend who is crazy over her. . .

Even though it did have a little bit to do with the plot, it bothered me that a pretty young girl's name was Carter. . . How yuck.

The ending was pretty good. I would recommend this book to a teen but not to an adult (unless they are a die-hard fun-loving adult like me).
