This box set shows Pike at his finest. "Gimme a Kiss" is a wonderful story of suspense & betrayal. The main character is Jane Retton, who the reader develops a love-hate relationship with due to her clever yet fallible plan, which is the basis for this story. The other 3 books in this box set are the "Final Friends Trilogy", which Pike did a lovely job with. The stories follow a group of teens beginning their senior year in high school. The death of one of these people at the end of "The Party" begins the mystery that is not truly solved until the end of "The Graduation." There are enough plot twists to keep anyone guessing, & Pike has a unique gift in his rich character development, which is lacking in so many other young adult novels. I would definitely recommend this set (or any of these novels) to any suspense fan.

It is not fair to judge The Final Friends series by one book alone, but to see individual book reviews and to buy them you can look up: The Party (book 1). The Dance (book 2), and The Graduation (book 3). This is a wonderfully intricate mystery broken into three parts that you won't be able to put down. I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. When I finished the last book, I felt as though I'd lost a good friend so I picked up the first book and read it all again. A must read!

This is the French text edition of "The Season of Passage", an unbelievably absorbing book and veritable page turner. It will entertain anyone who enjoys horror, science fiction, or fantasy books. It combines all three genres successfully.
The book involves a trip to Mars by a group of Americans, who seek to unravel a mystery intimated by a Russian expedition to Mars, which never returned to Earth and seemingly vanished. Part of the American team includes a Dr. Lauren Wagner, who leaves behind a thirteen year old sister, Jennifer, who has premonitions of disaster on Mars. Dr. Wagner leaves her sister in the care and custody of her boyfriend, reporter Terry Hayes.
Central to the book is a story of fantasy written by Jennifer about two ancient races, the Asurians and the Sastra. To simplify, the Asurians are evil and the Sastra are good. Their tale of conflict is spellbinding and allegorical to the central, yet parallel story of the expedition to Mars.
Suffice to say that what is encountered on Mars is chilling and terrifying. The Americans come across an ostensible survivor of the Russian expedition. It turns out that he is something else. It is something from the beginning of time which has lain dormant for eons and now threatens the Earth itself. It makes human beings not human anymore. It turns them into something very, very scary.
The apparent survival and return to Earth by Dr. Lauren Wagner and Major Gary Wheeler, pilot of the mission to Mars expedition, raises questions by those who know and love them. They sense that Lauren and Gary are not who they purport to be. They are now different somehow.
The clue on how to stop the potential destruction of the human race lies in the allegorical tale. This fantasy (or is it?) has the answers. This book is unbelievably creative and imaginative. Yet, somehow the author manages to make the combination of genres work flawlessly, weaving it all into an enthralling novel. This is an old fashioned, page turning, must read book. It is simply one of the best and most engrossing books I have ever read.

Many people are confused by this hard-to-find book. Actually, it exists under a title we're all familiar with: 'Spellbound'. Don't read any further if you haven't yet read 'Spellbound'.
Spellbound is an excellent book, definitely worth reading (again). It has a lot of action, plus the typical high school drama most readers love in Pike's books.

Christopher Pike is not your run-of-the mill intellectual property adviser. Although qualified as a patent and trade mark attorney, his experience in dealing with business management issues comes through very directly when reading this book.
It is not always appreciated that there is a whole host of available strategies for businesses which are, knowingly and in some cases not, involved in generating intellectual property. Intellectual property generators often need commercially minded guidance appropriate to their markets and their approach to business as to how their intellectual property can be used to create value. Pike has identified and crystallised models and concepts in a way which makes the grander themes of intellectual property, often held as an impenetrable area for those outside its day-to-day practice, readily understandable. He sets out a useful vocabulary of concepts and terms, describing intellectual property as a currency used in buy-sell relations and for measuring creative advantage.
I suspect that Pike may be at the forefront of a new area of consulting which is much-needed but so-far overlooked. The book he has written will surely be a useful tool to a broad range of readers, particularly those looking for insight into modern approaches to intellectual property strategy. Whilst other books on IP may be found hidden in the law section of a bookshop, this will almost certainly be found in amongst the bestselling management books.
