John English's book The Shift is a terrific tale that outlines the critical issues facing Americans today and lays out a plan to do something about it now. The narrative of the story is compelling and I found myself on a journey of self-discovery with each turn of the page. Buy this book and read it immediately. It will awaken your dreams and strengthen your resolve.

This is a delightful visionary book that explores American politics in a unique, mystical way. Providing an enlightened roadmap to how we could all change the course of our planet's future, the book takes us on a journey of possibilities. My only complaint is the terrible editing. There are numerous spelling and grammatical errors throughout the book which really detracts from the readability and credibility of this book. A good proofreader should have caught these errors. Still, an enjoyable read!

This "novel" has a novel theme - what if those of us fed up with big business as usual, aka US and Illuminati worldwide policies, had a choice? What if there existed a 3rd viable political party in the US which embraced any and all who listen to their hearts? [No offence intended to Greens, et al].

I have heard Mr. English speak at a local bookstore. His emphasis was not on "pushing" the book, but empowering us to act from our hearts and to carry out our Divine Missions. This novel is the story of one man who follows his heart and creates great positive changes in the world in so doing. John English encourages us to intend our transition from fear-based to heart-based actions, as demonstrated by the novel's main character, Scott.

Read this book, if you desire to change yourself - and this great country - for the better!

I absolutely loved this book. I have read it and read it. I am a woma in my 50s and my grandmothers are no longer living, but they had a big impact upon my childhood. There memories and special to me. This book helps you remember why these memories are so special.
I work as the Activities Assistant in a Care and Rehad center for the elderly. I have read this book to them many times and they all tell me they like the book. It has a very poignant message however, but sooner or later we all need to face the passing of the generation. But as someone has said, if they live in our memories they never die. That is the ultimate message of this book

My granddaughter and I share a Birthday. There was an article about "Something to Remember Me By" and the success it has achieved in our local paper. I guess great minds really do think alike, as both myself and my granddaughter thought what a perfect and wonderful gift it would be. We both ended up giving it to each other on our shared Birthdays. You should have seen our surprised faces when we realized the coincidence.

This book IS perfect for giving to children and adults. I've recommended it to several of my friends and I always hear great praise back for what a wonderful little book it is.

This book shows the warm relationship of a grandmother and granddaughter. Even the ordinary seems like a special treat with Grandma. When it's time for the granddaughter to leave, the grandmother ends each visit with a trip to the cedar chest at the foot of her bed. She pulls out "something to remember me by". Years pass, time takes its toll, and the grandmother fears she can no longer remember well enough. The granddaughter discovers the true treasures her grandmother left. Reading this book is like stepping into my grandmother's kitchen because she also left behind a treasure chest of memories.

This book shows a wonderful heart filled story about a loving relationship between a grandmother and her granddaughter. When the granddaughter goes over to visit her grandmother after every visit her grandmother takes her into her bedroom and gives her something special to remember her by. When the granddaughter was younger they would bake cookies and go shopping together. Now that she is growing up and the grandmother is getting older she is beginning to forget things. The granddaughter gives her something special so that she will never forget her.
This book tells us that there are special gifts that can be given but the greatest gift is the gift of love. This book is a celebration of love, memories, and a relationshp of special people.
The book inspires us all both young and old to treasure the memories and the special people we hold in our hearts. It's the little things that bring warm smiles and hearts full of love.

This book is nicely illustrated. The mechanisms of named reactions are depicted in colors for easy understanding by the user. This will be a very good book for the beginners in chemistry as well for the practising chemists. The industrial & academic examples choosen for the name reactions will give an indepth knowledge of the utility of the reactions. Overall I rate this book as a good companion for an organic chemist.

Absolutely excellent book!!! but make sure you spend the extra money on the hard cover. I bought the paperback and used it for a grad level total synthesis class and after two weeks the book completely fell apart. I now have a very useful stack of papers instead of a very useful book. I even emailed the publisher about it and got no response. i would try and boycott the book but it's just too good to live without. I recommend the hard cover instead.

In my opinion this is a very interesting book both for synthetic and methodologist chemist. Tipical conditions are given and the background as well as the mechanistic discussion are fulfilled. Not just one more named reactions book. It's worth it.

To put it shortly, if you're an organic chemistry graduate student the just go ahead and buy this book. It will be the most used book in your personal library. Also, if you are an undergraduate working in a research lab buy it as well. You'll have a huge jump on the other graduate students when you go to grad school having been familiar with this book.

Just like I said about UFT vol.2,this is a sport bjj book for begginners.About one in every four moves shown in this book can be translated to mma competition.
The moves inside are divided up as follows;
1)Takedowns-22 moves
2)Guard Passes and The Turtle Position-21 moves
3)Side Control-17 moves
4)Mount-17 moves.
5)Rear Mount-8 moves.
Once again,Royce links the moves together and this is an excellent book.

Great reference, with reservations.

This book will teach you a lot of very basic drills and ways to move from an offensive position to a stronger offensive position and in many cases teaches you how to defend those same advances. The book has very little about armbars, leg locks and figure 4 triangle leg chokes (although it does have a really cool one to use if you're already mounted past your opponents guard). You'll become efficient at understanding terms like guard, half guard, mount, back, side control and how to move from one position to a stronger using proven techniques. I give the book 5 stars because the techniques presented are well taught using pictures and easy to understand language. This book focuses mainly on techniques used to attack your opponent, today I'm ordering the second book of the series on ground game defense, after all, there's nobody better at defending a ground position than Royce.

Glick's book is the only one that seems to be about an interesting human being. Beamer and Burnett are too full of Christian fundamentalist nuttiness and the Advocate guy who wrote the Bingham book is too obsessed by the fact that Bingam was a homosexual. Jeremy Glick seems to have been a much more real person, not a cardboard Christian warrior for God or a posterboy for the gay rights movement.

Very Heartwrenching and Inspiring

I was very anxious to read this book since I read an article on a Reader's Digest magazine about a year ago and so I requested my local library to buy it. I read it in a week, I am pretty sure I could've read it in two days if it wasn't because I have a lot of homework. All I can say is that I loved "Your Father's Voice". It is very well-written and moving.

Lyz Glick carefully tells the story of her life with Jeremy and her life once Jeremy was gone. She walks us through every memory she kept. She shares with us the weakest moments of her life after her husband's death, but she also states the importance of her and Jeremy's daughter in her life.

I have to applaud Liz Glick for managing to tackle such an enourmously emotional and personal subject with such grace. This book put thoughts in my head of what it would be like if I had to face the same reality she encountered, and I have to confess it brought me to tears often. What happened to her and to anyone whose loved ones were killed that horrible day is something you don't wish to anyone. Like I said I can't imagine enduring the things she went through.

I was totally blown away by this book. I undoubtedly recommend it. It's the kind of book you should have on your coffee table. You will see it is very hard to put it down.

This book was so beautifully and eloquently written. I read it over several days, it is almost impossible to put down. This book is a major tear jerker, though. It has been a long time since I have literally sobbed while reading a book. You actually feel sad when it is over, like you just want to read it again. It was heartbreaking to see what an amazing father he was to his baby daughter, and that he had just 12 weeks with her. I also loved, loved the writing style of Lyz Glick. The way that she described things, people, and events made you feel like you were right there. Well done!!!!

Hearbreaking, but brought closure for this reader

Lyz Glick, a self-described "single-married person," chose to write a series of letters to her daughter, Emerson, about Jeremy Glick: husband, father, and fighter-a hero who died on September 11, 2001, as one of the passengers on Flight 93.

Brutally honest, Lyz Glick and writer, Dan Zegart, create more than a book filled with letters to the Glick's daughter, Emerson, or "Emmy." Emmy, and readers around the world, will come to know a man who is both common and exceptional. Glimpses into the past, told by friends, family and his wife, show Glick's growth from precocious child to courageous man.

Emmy was not quite three-months old when her father and other passengers of Flight 93 became icons of courage in modern American history.

As Emmy learns about her father's past, from childhood to adulthood, readers also come to know Jeremy Glick, his wife, his extended family and friends.

Poignant, funny, wry, and sad, Your Father's Voice, is an intimate portrait of a special man whose past prepared him for the events on 9/11, an infamous day carved forever into American history.

Your Father's Voice is not a book to enjoy, but rather one to absorb.

This is a story of how the common man can rise with honor and sacrifice self to fight against evil. Jeremy Glick, in these letters to his daughter, is such a man-a man who became one of God's warriors.

Lyz Glick and Zegart, through Your Father's Voice, allows those of us who watched helplessly as events played out on 9/11 to believe in heroes and hold them close in our hearts.

Laced with humor, sadness, anger, curiosity and more, this book of letters is also an account of the process Mrs. Glick was forced to partake in as a surviving widow, or "single-married person," as she calls herself.

Though the details are sometimes gruesome, at the same time, they are important to not only Lyz Glick, but to readers as well. Because of her tenacity, the world can also take a step forward toward healing by putting to rest questions about that ugly day.

Your Father's Voice is not a sugarcoated account of Jeremy Glick's life. We meet Glick as he was-an ordinary man made extraordinary through his choices in life, and in death.

This is one of the finest books ever written on classical asymptotic analysis, one of the most useful areas in mathematics for engineering applications. The material is quite outdated now since the present research is almost completely computational.

Nevertheless, one of the finest applied mathematics texts.

I am a mathematics professor, and asymptotic methods is my area of expertise. Bender and Orszag was the standard text on this topic in the early 1980s, and it remains by far the most thorough book on the subject. I had two courses from it in graduate school and have taught from it 3 times now. I have never found a mistake. The book is very well written; its only weakness is that its graphics reflect the technology of the 1970s. Nevertheless, I am teaching from it again next year, because it is in a class by itself.

There is one thing that individual readers and faculty users should be aware of. Some of the exercises, including a few marked as "intermediate," are incredibly difficult. My instructor made the mistake of assigning exercises without working them first. I am careful not to assign any exercises until after I have worked them.

Deeply insightful and utterly fascinating

I had the privilege to explore this guide to the universe of asymptotics under Prof. Bender. I used to think, and still do (about 2 decades on), that this book is like the Rosetta Stone, and enables us to solve anything in applied mathematics.

A must have for anyone looking to understand the incredible universe we find ourselves in!

I'll echo the sentiments of the other reviewers here. I have a well-worn and well-used copy of the first (1978) edition. Believe it or not, I actually had a chance to use these methods as recently as last month (September 2005). I would recommend, though, if you want to get the most out of this book, pick up a symbolic calculation program or calculator capable of doing symbolic math. I use the open-source programs Maxima and Axiom for this, but if you want to actually spend money, Amazon has some calculators that will handle this sort of thing.

OK, I love this series! Spoilers ahead! This book introduces the weirdest character in any manga I've EVER read: Micchi hate 'im. He introduces him self to the class, and on the way to his seat, hears Karin's name, gives her a kiss on the cheek. He's apparently heard of her before. Then, he hears Kazune's name and gives him a kiss on the lips (a random girl: must..e-mail..everyone!). He then starts flirting with Karin relentlessly, despite the fact that she hates it. Once, he grabs her, despite her protests, and gives Kazune a mysterious look, along the lines of "hey, look, I can hug her. Ha,ha." Could Kazune like Karin? The book ends with him pinning down Kazune, saying that he owes him a favor. Hmm... I love the romantic tension and fights!! ;P

A bit bland, but cute

As far as the plot goes, Kamichama Karin is a rather generic 'magical girl' story- an ordinary girl suddenly gains magic powers (wowie zowie!) and is forced to fight evil. Sound familiar?
All the characters seem, at first glance at least, to be nothing more than flat archetypes. There's the kind, sweet, motherly girl; the mean, rude, expert fighter guy; the nauseatingly 'normal' girl (the main character, of course); the dashing, polite, gorgeous male love interest; the wisecracking cute mascot. Yes, they're all here.
Not helping matters is the incredibly poor dialogue. For some reason, the translators felt obliged to pump it full of incredibly irritating slang at bizarre moments. This is especially strange-sounding when you realise that half the cast consists of wealthy kids who probably would have been brought up to be extremely polite.
However, even with all of its faults, Kamichama Karin is quite entertaining. It is genuinely funny at times (although the later volumes seem to be less so), and there really are some really heartwarming bits. And it's cute. Good grief, is it cute. I practically had a heart attack while reading the extra chapter in volume 3. Kamichama Karin was drawn by cuteness expert Koge-Donbo (of Di Gi Charat fame), and it shows.
In short, the plot is only okay, while there is some humour and general 'warm fuzzy feeling'-ness. And it's very, very, very cute.

If you work in a pediatric practice which serves children, you will find yourself turning to this book again and again. It has very helpful and complete text and pictures. Our pediatric residents use it as a primary board review text. I highly recommend it. Anyone want to buy a Nelson's???

Great for the boards and the office

I bought this to study for the pediatric boards and it was very helpful for the picture session. I've also found it extremely helpful everyday in seeing patients especially the dermatology section.

Sigh....

Another ubiquitous book. A "must have"....or "must have owned". Too big. People just buy it for the pictures anyway, has anyone really read the text in Zitelli's? Most people use it as an atlas to review for boards...My logic is, if you're gonna just use it for pictures, why not google images? There are other atlases out there that are less cumbersome and cheaper. Plus, do you think the pedi board people will take a picture right out of a well-known text?

Useful as a bookend or coffe table a-la Kramer in Seinfeld.

Could not be better

This is the finest text a pediatrician can own for daily practice, board brush up and companion to the standard textbooks. It can fill many gaps inherent in the nature of pediatric training and is eminently relevant. If the authors never pen another things, they can be forever proud of this work. Brava.

Must-Have for anyone in Peds

This is undoubtedly a must-have reference for anyone in pediatrics. This has a great collection of color images & is well-organized. The new edition is definitely weightier, but there is more text & more diagrams. Considering the cost, it's probably not worth getting the new edition if you already have the older one. However, if you're buying, buy the new one.
