So, set aside the time to use this book and do this book to bless your children. Thank You Pastor Sebastian. A must to have book for every mom and dad who wants to make a difference in the spiritual lives of their children. The book reminds us of the value of pronouncing blessings - how they can begin to experience God's promises in a different way and becoming aware of the blessings bestowed on them.
Add blessings and excitement of God's promises to their growth. They will benefit by how God's Word communicates to them. It's a tool that will literally prepare them to achieve what God had planned for them.

This book is for those who respond to positive suggestions and are open to New Age philosophy with just as much affirmation of faith in a deity. The suggestion is to read the affirmations and its analysis, sit with it for a time each day, with the promise that at the end of 40 days something will have shifted in the reader's thinking.
I believe that this method is worth pursuing and have found it beneficial in improving my perceptions of how I see the world, how I nurture my relationships, in how I regard myself.
After reading it the first time I've decided to give it another round to reinforce its upbeat message.

Michael Beckwith has created a MUST HAVE book of spiritual inspiration and practice. These daily meditations are an absolute feast for the soul. Deceptively simple, this small book is filled with big ideas that, when put into daily practice, are PROFOUNDLY transformational. I have given this book to a number of people and I quote from it often. Beckwith is masterful in his use of language and the high vibration of this man's spirit leaps off the page and into your heart. Get this book and use it! The perfect gift for anyone of any spiritual persuasion.

Michael Beckwith is a profoundly spiritual man and reminds us that each of us can benefit in real ways by our awareness that our oneness with God is the source of every conceivable good in our lives. He reminds us that Jesus is not the great exception, but the great example of how to live our lives if we are sincere about spiritual enlightment.

I'll second what all the other reviewers have said. I laughed till I cried at the antics of this wonderful Monkey as he peeked under every rock the ongoing New Age and spiritual/self help industry has pumped out. What I like about this guy is he is not afraid to mention his own foibles and missteps. Unlike so many books by self-styled seekers and teachers, Sobel comes off sounding like a real guy, a human being, and a very, very funny one at that, and not somebody who is trying to convince you he's a grand poobah. In the process, gently and humorously, he makes a very good case that there really aren't any grand poobahs. There's just Us and Whoever's out there/in there waiting. Bravo.

Sobel's book does what few spiritual books I've read (and I've read my share)have done -- made me laugh at my own shortcomings and embrace my humanity. The true genius of the work lies beyond the abundant humor; Sobel's text has a strong message (in an odd no-message-here kind of way) that the essence of life is wrapped in a package both haunting and uplifting; hilarious and brutal.

Eliezer Sobel's third book is another important contribution to the literature of personal exploration. While following his adventures, I was often intrigued, amused, and moved, never knowing what to expect next, but always hopeful that his life would improve as a result of meeting yet another guru or guide. When he found himself unchanged, I sadly joined him, knowing that this is how it is. Nevertheless, I found myself profoundly moved in a mysterious way. During the reading, I made a life-changing decision motivated by the book's spiritual underpinnings. Sobel's genuinely noble intentions inform his generously shared life story and reach deeply into the reader.

Having met Eliezer Sobel at a few Jewish meditation retreats, I was very curious about his book. I read it in two sittings, interrupted only by sleep and breakfast. While my own spiritual explorations have been rather staid compared to his, I could relate to his quest and the inner workings of his heart and mind, which he courageously shares. This book got me to recognize and laugh at myself, no mean feat!

In "The 99th Monkey," Eliezer Sobel proves to be an engaging and insightful tour guide as he leads us through his experiences with many of the major spiritual and human potential gurus and movements of the past thirty years. His countless attempts to "cure himself of being himself," are recounted with remarkable humor and honesty, and are as moving as they are entertaining. Though Sobel claims to have failed in his quest, he seems to have learned quite a bit along the way. I am glad he decided to share it with the rest of us.

I received this book in the post last week and I really couldn't put it down. Every chance I got I read a chapter or two. It's entertaining, honest and very informative. I was particularly interested in this one because there were so many parallels to my own life and journey. It was almost uncanny. I'm just doing the final edits to my own manuscript which I hope to get published next year. I think what appealed to me most was the fact that the author fought against her 'true calling', refusing to belive that she had a special gift. She also encourages her readers to believe in themselves. It's very empowering and shows a lot of insight. I would highly recommend it - it's well written.

Aaagh! I think I'm Psychic (And You Can Be Too), by Natasha J. Rosewood, is an intriguing book about and internationally renowned psychic Natasha rosewood, who is based in Vancouver Canada. It read like a biographical novel, that you can't put down.
Page after page, Natasha unravels 'coincidents' and changes that shaped her life and made her aware of her destiny; encouraging us, the reader, to do the same! Each chapter is punctuated by `metaphysical endnotes' that give further `teaching' on how, for example, to establish psychic boundaries, understand different levels of consciousness, death, and develop a new and different perspective on life. At times, Natasha's account of her life and the psychic forces that were at play is heartbreaking; yet in never fails to inspire.
Natasha believes she `magnetized' events to her to help her accept her `psychic awakening' as she spent many years reluctant to do so. Natasha's own life roller-coasted between happy memories and sad, painful ones, which she shares candidly and honestly. She writes: "In the beginning my search had been to understand my mother, but now it appears that she had motivated me to understand the Universe... It was my own very private, individual journey, and all I really wanted was to be master of my own life"
Natasha's writing style is also humerous (there were many incidents when I was in stiches-enjoying a good laugh) and succeeds in demystifying what a psychic is, how a psychic works, and how to find out if you are one. She shares with her reader how her own psychic abilities manifested themselves as she reflects on her life, how her various abilities grew and they unfolded; and that no matter how difficult and painful at times, life can be, it is those incidents that shape who we are and guides us towards fulfilling our lives.
In her book, Aaagh! I think I'm Psychic (and you can be too), Natasha also believes that we are all intuitive, perhaps even psychic, and that perhaps our fear of the unknown, instilled in us as a cellular memory, is what stops us from acknowledging these abilities. Natasha writes: "The most valuable education I absorbed that day, over and above the color of auras and their meanings, past and future lives and the difference between various levels of consciousness, was that we are all, if not psychic, inherently intuitive"
Natasha's love of travel lead her to an international adventure, and misadventure at times; she speaks six languages and has lived in various countries- adding an cosmopolitan drop to this psychic adventure! And along the way, her abilities unfolded in various too: she learnt palm reading, astrology, Psychometry, developed her telepathy, mediumship, chanelling, and interpreting her dreams.
And although Natasha was reluctant to accept this awakening to begin with, as her psychic abilities developed they helped her understand how we all `write our own movies', and how we `magnetize' events and people into our lives who would help us understand and develop our awareness.
Natasha's book, I Think I'm Psychic (And You Can Be Too, is entertaining as much as it is inspiring. She succeeds in engaging the reader by 'zooming in' on her life, and then 'zooming out' for a 'big-picture' perpective on the universal reality of the soul. I strongly recommend it.

I like the way Natasha Rosewood writes - it's her story and in the end of every chapter there is a metaphysical endnote which explains from a higher view what her (and also our) experience was about.

I've tried so many times to read books on this subject, but have always got lost in the "technicalities". Natasha has wonderfully combined her journey and endnotes in a way that was logical, simple to understand and easy to read.
Words can not express how Natasha's writing has touched me and renewed my strength to listen to my inner self. Thank you, Natasha.

As with all works done by Spurgeon, this is a timeless classic. First printing in 1894, it is still in print. Simple yet profoundly true, Spurgeon explains the true Grace of God with a heart desire that many will come to know Christ through this work. I actually bought a whole case of 120 of these in paperback to give away from Moody Press. The audio version is awesome. I loaded it onto my iPod to listen while on the go.

There are three great strengths of this book; 1)the ability to make the gospel so clear that even a child can understand, 2)it is written in modern english, and 3)the chapters are very short and to the point. Asking someone to read this is one of the easiest ways to introduce the subject of Christ. The book provides a basis of discussion and followup that many can not deny.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon is considered by many to be the greatest preacher of the 19th century. This book, subtitled, "An Earnest Word with Those Who Are Seeking Salvation by the Lord Jesus Christ," is Spurgeon's great explanation of salvation and God's grace. He explains what God has done and why, and what we must do to be saved and to persevere in the faith.
This is a great book, showing the power and intelligence that form the bedrock of Spurgeon's reputation. But, even more, herein you really see his earnest concern for those who are unsaved and dying in their sins. I found this book to be enlightening and uplifting.
It's a truly wonderful book, a true classic of Christian literature - as much alive and relevant to today as it ever was. I highly recommend this book!

Spugeon once again goes into detail here about the grace of God and explains that it works obediance in the life of the believer. I loved most of all his writing on faith as the fountain of salvation and not the basis. Eph 2:8-10. God's grace is the source.....not self-generated faith, for there is no faith apart from God. Faith is simply trusting God and his Word. Trust Him to give you what He deems best, not what you think is best (they are not always the same). The "faith in faith" crowd should read this book. Just trust God, and don't use faith for a list of personal entitlements.

I found this book rather randomly one day while I was shopping for a gift. I searched for John Elderidge's book, Wild At Heart, and bought it for a growing Christian friend. Under recommended titles, I saw The Allure of Hope by Jan Meyers. Having read Wild at Heart, I had been wanting something similar that addressed the issues faced in a woman's life rather than a man's. John Elderidge actually wrote the introduction to this book and recommended it highly. So, respecting him as an author, I bought a copy.
I absolutely loved it and I have since given away copies to friends and family alike. I felt like it was relevant to events in my life and helped me to work through some problems that I have encountered as a developing Christian. Many Christian books that address lifestyles and relationships with God seem "preachy" to me, and I have a difficult time getting into them. I also feel like they dwell too heavily on discipline and abstinance, neglecting the source of discontent that leads people astray. Jan Meyers, however, does an excellent job by speaking to the reader as a peer. Her voice sounds like that of a friend and it conveys a sense of pain that she is experiencing and working through, much like her audience. Her writing, while it may lack the eloquence and development of John Elderidge, is powerful nonetheless because of its honesty, tenderness, and warmth.
This book is an excellent read for any woman searching for a closer and purer relationship with God. I plan on using it in a Bible study I am leading later this year.

I have read many books on Christian women's issues, and this is by far the best! In contrast to most Christian books for women on the market, it's not about how much harder we women need to try, or what we're doing wrong, but it's about how much God loves us and desires intimacy with us and how important our hearts are on this journey toward Him. Her writing is visionary and mystical while remaining firmly grounded in the Christian faith. This book has awakened my heart in a powerful way. It has given me vision and helped me to relax in God's love for me. If you liked any of the John Eldredge books, this one is a must!

A must read for women in their 20's, 30's or 40's. Jan calls us to keep our hearts open in the deepest diappointment. Book studies on this book are popping up in all sorts of place, at my church, within christian ministries etc...A book that finally speaks to the true heart of a woman..

Pam Vredevelt writes from a Christian point of view. She is a wife of a man in the ministry, a woman who gives talks, and a mother of three. Their third child was born with down syndrone. Pam went through a period of depression. Slowly, she began to realize that there is beauty in having a "special needs" child. The messages of hope throughout this book make it an appropriate book to give to any friend who is going through a difficult time. (ie cancer, divorce, etc.) I received mine as a gift, and have dog eared pages to refer back to.

I loved this book by Pam Vredevelt so much that I am reading it a second time. It is so encouraging because it gives the perspective of a parent in clear and heartfelt wording. I have many "Nathan's" in my classroom whose parents have surely felt some of the same grief and joy expressed by Pam. I applaud her for writing such an emotionally open and inspiring book becuase it has given me new perspective into what the parents of my students continually deal with.
Hope and inspiration for all situations.

Someone gave me a copy of this book years ago when I was going through tough times. Though details of my situation were in no way similar to the author's, I could relate to the fears and spiritual/emotional struggles she faced. Her story of hope and spiritual strength helped me to face and then conquer my own fears. I have since given several copies of this book to other friends facing their own life struggles, and have received much positive feedback. Highly recommended.

I am the mother of a child with Down Syndrome. My neighbor gave me this book and it was at a time when I most needed it. Sometimes raising a child with a disability can be challenging and this gave me hope. I sent it to two other people who could also use the same hope at a difficult time. It is inspiring to know that these children are not alone. I learned that from this book and it helps us as we go on this journey. Thank you Pam Vredevelt!

This book is set up in categories that teens deal with and then for each category it lists verses that correspond with that category. Unlike a lot of scripture by subject book that list adult topics, this one has topics like peer pressure, drug use, abortion, alcohol, appearance, astrology, beauty, cults, dating, depression, fear, gossip, homosexuality, love, lust, porn and many others...topics that teens really do seek answers to. The really great thing about this book is that Ive found that there have been times when my concordance didnt produce results about a particular subject but this little book did. Another great thing about this book is that it makes a great reference for those times when we actually have to have a sit down face to face talk with a youth about somehting thats big in their life and this gives us fast facts without scaring our youth with a big fat bible. Ive found that youth will pick up this little reference book and find what they need but the task of finding quick answers int he bible is often to tough so they give up. Sometimes all they need is one scripture to cling to but if it means reading chapter after chapter to find it, they wont bother. Naturally, it has a lot of other great topics too, but I just listed a few of the obvious ones---but seriously, it is a must have.

I discovered this book from my Sunday School teacher several years ago, and I have loved it ever since! I literally cannot keep myself a copy because I enjoy giving it away to everyone. It is an excellent tool for finding appropriate verses about nearly every topic from abortion to dancing. I couldn't imagine planning for a lesson without this book! I truly feel that everyone would be more than pleased with this selection. God bless!

I highly recommend this book. You can feel the gesture of the author's hand in every word, written with careful intent, yet no word locks you up, tells you where to be or gives you an outcome, the result of which leaves you wide open.

I am not all the way through this book yet, so perhaps my impression will change, but so far, I think people who are finding something in this book are saying so because they think they are supposed to, or they are on the author's wave length.
I clearly am not.

On p.6, the author's words express my experience of the entire book: "This meeting? It's a mystery... You know something took place, but you can't put it in words." Throughout my initial reading I often understood, re-lived, or sensed things for which words were inadequate. These experiences were both intense and ephemeral. I found that allowing the words to wash over me--without struggling to make certain that I had the "correct" understanding--made the work all the richer. I expect this book will feel new each time I step into its pages.

This book is on target for anyone with interest in the dharma but too little time in their schedules to fool around. The Heart Sutra is a treasure chest containing gem-like insights that can enrich our lives. Most commentaries list the contents; McLeod gives us the key. The unusual way he has layered his text allows for a kind of poetic impact, cutting through conceptual thinking to bring us right into the present moment. And the fact that he's made this important resource so much fun to read doesn't hurt at all. Purchase promptly!

Inspired, unconventional, and more than a little mischievous, An Arrow To The Heart aims not to explain but rather to evoke the essence of the mystery of life. And readers who take the time to savor the offering will soon realize that McLeod hits his target's bullseye.
A commentary like no other, McLeod offers experiential insights into the Heart Sutra that will be of interest to anyone - Buddhist or not - who wonders just what is meant by `Form is emptiness. Emptiness is form.'
The key to understanding this offering, however, is to understand the book's unusual structure. Each of two of the facing interior pages touch on just a word or phrase from the sutra. On the left you'll encounter snippets of poetry, narrative, quotes, and the like. On the right you'll find notes that illuminate what was just put forth. You're then asked to consider it all in light of the particular sutra passage being covered. To some this may sound like work but it is actually a playful construct that brings forth the meaning of the sutra in your own mind.
This approach makes Arrow something to be read and reread since each time it brings forth something new or previously unseen. And, as if anything more were needed, the icing on the cake are the clever illustrations by Dick Allen which provide a visual interpretation to the McLeod's `commentary.'

This book wrecked me inside for God's kingdom and caused me to vow to not be a hearer only but a doer of the Word. Jaeson has taken the revelation that God has given the church recently, and that I have learned about (hearing the voice of God, prayer and fasting, moving in signs and wonders, the return of house churches) and written about how they are actually moving in these things and seeing a great move of God on UCLA's campus. I started crying out to God and moving out in obedience to see the same things on my campus. We haven't seen things of the same scale, yet, but God is absolutely opening doors and moving in miraculous ways that he wasn't before this semester.
This book takes you through some of Jaeson's story and through the actions that he and those at UCLA took. Read this book, and spend time before God, asking Him what this means for YOU, on YOUR campus. Because ultimately, we need to hear God and obey.

I think this book is a must read for every christian today. It is dripping with passion, and truly inspires change through scripture.
I read it this summer, and began praying more, and consequently have seen my own heart change and grow in passion and love for Jesus and the people around me.
As christians, we all want to run after God, and serve Him truly, this is a great tool to help us!

They gave away this book at The Call Nashville. My copy is all marked up with my yellow marker and pen. I have loaned mine to my pastor in Anderson, SC. Then I plan to loan it to yet another pastor in Augusta, Georgia. I need to buy a few more books and share them with some pastors who have prayer ministries for Clemson University students. This book can change the world. It has mine. It may target university students but its message is for the whole body of Christ. If you consider yourself a radical christian then this book is a must. I hear the first printing is already sold out. It would not surprise me if this book is on the best seller's list before the end of year.

There are pastors, teachers, evangelists, prophets, and apostles. And then we have love-sick, passionates Brides of Christ.
Brother Jaeson Ma is, in part, all of these. Those who know Jaeson know that he has a pastor's and teacher's heart to teach, equip and anoint our generation of believers. What he has, he wants to give away. He's got an evangelist's fervor to see the yet-to-be-born enter the Kingdom, and to equip the masses to do what Jaeson does best. He's part prophetic in that he flows in prophecy strongly (as well as healing and other gifts). And, he's part apostle: His plants churches at the colleges at a fast rate, as well as functions in the supernatural.
Jaeson Ma, above all, is a Bride of Christ. He labors for one thing: Friendship with GOD. His life is a testimony that intimacy is the road to victory; that personal renewal precedes public revival; and that to do what the "giants" of our faith have done, requires that we step into a level of intimacy with GOD as never before!.
As you read his book, you'll be challenged to contend both for intimacy with the Holy Spirit and the supernatural. You'll be asking yourself, "GOD, why not me?" You'll realize that while GOD is not a respecter of persons, He does shower His favor selectively - and that, on those who are love-sick warriors! And with that, truly, nothing is impossible for those who believe.
