I have used this book for quiet times for years and I recently purchased another one to use because my old one wore out. It really helped me apply how important praise to God is to spiritual growth.

I am not one given to tossing superlatives about or embellishing my correspondence with capitals. For this book, I gladly will make an exception. This is, by far, the BEST devotional book that I have EVER read. I received it as a gift a few years ago. I've used it almost continuously since and bought several copies to give to friends, who have, likewise, praised it with as much warmth.

It puts the Christian squarely in the right place, praising God and recognizing his sovereignty in every situation and over every person. Each day's devotional is in the form of a prayer, obviously drawn directly from scripture, and includes scripture references (in order) for each paragraph. Every few days there is a supplemental reading that enhances the truths given over the past few days.

Whatever my situation, circumstance or emotion, this book has never failed to provide me with the proper perspective. It provides comfort when I'm afraid, hope when I despair, confirmation when I rejoice, deepening my love and trust in my wonderful Lord, focusing my attention and love on Him and assuring me of His love for me.

It's compact size makes it completely portable; it fits in my purse or my desk drawer. Yet, the print is not cramped; there is no eyestrain.

A wonderful book.

I received this wonderful book as a gift. It's a treasure of truth from God's Word. It has not only been instructive and stimulating, but very touching as it sensitively probes the importance of praise and how it affects our lives. A must read for all who seek to deepen their relationship with God.

I like to start out every day reading from this uplifting little book. It is straight from the Word of God, praising God, which is a life-changing thing to do. I love to give these books as gifts, so my friends can be encouraged every day too.

I was given this book as a gift and it has been an amazing tool to take me to the Father. I can't tell you how many times what is written for a certain day lines up with something going on in my life. I've had it for a few years and given many as gifts to friends.

Andominii is a great first effort by Lance Dixon. His talent is reminiscent of Richard Bach, author of Jonathan Livingston Seagull, who has the rare ability of being able to entertain and enlighten readers all at the same time. Lance's remarkable insights into truth, combined with formadable story telling capabilities and a genuine gift for verse, result in truly moving passages. Expect big things from Lance Dixon in both his life and his work.

A moving and insightful book. The author weaves a wonderful tapestry of modern day fable. As I turned the pages, this book consistently ecouraged me to re-examine myself and the superficial success that we all believe we should achieve. The lesson is powerful - it is one that you internally discover while reading, rather than a lesson prescribed by the author.

Different from others in its genre in that it neither preaches sacrifice nor promises salvation through textbook lesson. This story instead almost subliminally challenges you to find the success that we all crave.

I simply found it next to impossible to put this beautifully written book down.

A magnificant book - - for its simplicity and for its truth. I am confident that every reader of this book will find that it helps them find the meaning of their life - - their Success.

A valuable piece for the theosophy student and young people to grasp the modern version of our Lord.

I have been reading the Aquarian Gospel of Jesus Christ for many years now, and use it my personal spiritual Bible. What is written rings true to me and I refer to it whenever i am seeking 'religious' information about such topics as Faith, Trust, Love or Power, for example.

I believe it was channeled by Levi, the transcriber, as he is called by his children, and was only published them after his death.

The Introduction of the book is worth reading. Here is the first paragraph: "The full title of this book is The Aquarian Age Gospel of Jesus, the Christ of the Piscean Age, and the critical reader is apt to ask a number of pertinent questions concerning it. Among the many anticipated questions these are perhaps the most important: What is an Age? What is the Piscean Age? What is the Aquarian Age? What is meant by the Christ as the word is used in this book? What relationship existed between Jesus of Nazareth and the Christ? Who is Levi, the transcriber of this book? What are the Akashic Records?" These are answered in the Introduction.

This is a metaphysical, or esoteric Bible for those interested in studying what is now called the Ancient Wisdom. As a spiritual teacher, I strongly recommend it.

I also particularly love this book for its Subject Index.

A picture of Jesus Christ from the Akashek records; his entire life, temptations (of man) he had to overcome, through his crucifixion. A picture of the world through time for better understanding of purpose of life.

The Aquarian Gospel is a book that I have read around three times, because many of the nuances of this book (particularly the metaphysical riddles) require second reading. This book is a MUST READ for those who plan to watch the movie based upon this book that is presently under production by William Sees Keenan and Drew Heriot. The Aquarian Gospel primarily tries to fill in the gaps and explain the "missing years" of Jesus that have been dismissed rather casually in the Bible by simply stating "And the boy grew in wisdom and stature." How much you eventually like this book will depend upon your objective. If the objective is to read a mystery novel, The Aquarian Gospel will disappoint (you will probably enjoy The Rozabal Line much more as a fast-paced thriller covering the Jesus in India story). If the aim is to read about the "Jesus in India" theory itself, again there are better books out there such as Jesus Lived in India: His Unknown Life Before and After the Crucifixion or The Unknown Life of Jesus: The Original Text of Nicolas Notovich's 1887 Discovery If, however, the aim is to understand the influences of the Eastern traditions upon the spirituality and teachings of Jesus, then this is an ideal read. Throughout the 1960's, The Aquarian Gospel was a big hit with the hippie movement. To that extent, this book acquired a "negative" and "anti-establishment" connotation. However, with today's significantly more liberal attitude towards questioning the origins of Christianity, this book needs to be looked at in a new positive light.

The Aquarian Gospel is based on the author's ability to "read" the vibrational imprints --akashic records -- of events surrounding Jesus' life, as well as His life and teachings themselves, from the birth of His mother, Mary, to the words of Peter spoken on the day of Pentecost. Many are skeptical of such a work, based as it is on inner revelations of the vibrational records in the realms of spirit, but the words of Jesus and the events recorded by Levi have never been successfully disproven, and are consistent with much that has been brought to light about Jesus and his teachings in recent decades.
For example, the lost gospel of Thomas, discovered in 1945 in Egypt, contains roughly 150 of his sayings, which fit in with his teachings in the Aquarian Gospel, as do his comprehensive discourses on a wide variety of subjects in Glenda Green's book, Love Without End, and in Mary Ann Johnston's book, Messages from Jesus -- A Dialogue of Love. In the latter work, published in 2004, the author asks questions of Jesus, whom she has been able to see and talk with since childhood, and his answers, filled with the power of love, expand your awareness and draw you closer to God. In the other book, Glenda Green was enabled to see and converse with Jesus by means of a beam of energy projected to the point between her eyebrows. This took place in November 1991. If you read either of these two books, you are struck with the sincerity of the authors and the feeling that what Jesus is saying is truth. As for the Aquarian Gospel and the Gospel of Thomas, the narrative in the former and Jesus' words in both are beautiful, inspiring, and, in my opinion, as worthy of acceptance as the four canonical gospels. I have read and studied each of the books mentioned in this review and recommend them to all who seek a more complete understanding of Jesus' teachings.

I have noticed that fine teachers dispel tensions and apprehensions in their students, while ineffectual teachers positively strain to load them on. Sifu Wong is totally at home with his art; humorous, warm, and supporting. He never communicates a whisper of doubt about the prospect of teaching essential Chi Kung through the medium of a modest seeming book. I was immediately hooked on the practice. Sifu Wong's own attitude is undiminished childlike astonishment and wonder at the power of Chi Play. One does not want to stop! It is this infectiously joyous, self-aware, but un-self-conscious spirit which truly welcomes and encourages the student.

Excellent writen and easy to understand. And Best book for the seekers of healing and mediumship.

A complete guide to everyone about the art of Chi Kung. The auther Master Wong Kiew Kit explains how to use the art to promote energy for physical, mental and spiritual well-being. The techniques are so simple yet extremely powerful. It's a great book I recommend it to everyone, beginner or advanced level.

This book gives an overview of Chi Kung ( or Qi Gong , depending on the spelling,etc.). It explains what chi is, what chi can do, and what exercises can help. There are several drawings of various chi kung exercises, chapters on various ailments and what can be done to cure them, as well as several real cases. Wong Sifu is truly an expert. As a student of Chi Kung and Tai Chi Chuan I can say this book supplements training ( especially helpful is the body chart with the various meridians).
The only negative things are that there are no photos ( although the drawings are reasonably good) and more important there's no information on diet. If you have no problems or just a simple strain/sprain diet probably won't matter, but if your problem is more serious, such as constantly feeling cold, sleep apnea, low sex drive, etc. diet will play a major part in the cure. That brings up one other problem; this is a book and not a real, living Sifu( master). As such it should be used only as an introduction to Chi Kung and not as a guide to get better. I'd strongly recommend you find a real Tai Chi/Chi Kung master and practice with him/her. Only if you're hundreds of miles away from the nearest school, or you're broke , should you try to "learn" from this book. Use it as aguide.
That said, this is one of the better books on Chi Kung.

The basic idea is to quit expecting other people to make you happy, and take care of your own needs. This books gives you insight on how to do that within your couple. It can also lead you to clues of how you keep making the same relationship mistakes...keeping yourself dissatisfied through the years...

I thought this would be more of an in depth self help kind of book. It wasnt. Come to find out all this authors books are pretty much the same.
Could be good for others, but wasnt what I expected at all.

This is a simple, well written book that explores "Being the Person You Want to Find" rather than finding a specific person to fill your holes. In other words, it's primarily about your relationship with the most important life partner you will ever have... YOURSELF.

If you think about it, you are your only 100% GUARANTEED life partner. This book is about looking at your beliefs, behavioral patterns and conditioning in a curious, gentle and open way toward the goal of having a comfortable relationship with yourself. The unspoken corallary to this might be and thereby... avoid projecting your stuff on to others and get involved with the wrong people unconsciously.

This book is indirectly about relationships because by being the person we want to find, we are most likely to attract healthy people who will treat us as we treat ourselves. This book also helps us to look at our conditioning as a whole, which serves our relationship goals by making our unconscious conditioning more conscious.

I have read a number of Cheri Huber's books and have found them to be easy to read, very practical and entertaining. She does not overwhelm the reader with detail, but she provides a lot of useful and practical tools for those brave enough to do deep inquiry. She focuses more on lived experience in the moment than in-depth discussion of theory.

All of Cheri Huber's books emphasize the importance of being compassionate with yourself, looking inward and accepting whatever the present moment brings. I would say that she emphasizes that HOW you do something is at least as important as WHAT you are doing. She also stresses the importance of a daily meditation practice in most of her books, without being preachy about it. This is good advice for most of us in the West where many of us don't slow down enough to look inward.

I'm really glad to see that Cheri Huber made it as an author. I saw her speak in person and found her to be a very warm, sensitive and caring human being. I also felt she was underrated as an author at the time, but since then she has become quite popular. I often recommend her books to people because they have such broad appeal and written from a deep place of compassion and love.

Very insightful and also very short -- which makes it easy to review and refresh your memory and adjust your habits. While it is useful at improving relationships, its usefulness goes far beyond that. It helps guide a readers in adjusting their lives life to be more in accordance with who they "really" are; that is, it helps people disarm their various fears, anxieties, or defense mechanisms and live more authentically and rewardingly.

In an Amazon review of "Get out of Your Mind & into Your Life," I suggested Huber's book as a companion. I guess I should also do the reverse and recommend that book as a companion to this book.

I also recommend Lorne Ladner's "The Lost Art of Compassion," which blends Western and Buddhist psychology in very insightful ways.

I have found these three books personally very useful.

"Broken Open" is the first book I read after losing my husband. Indeed, I felt broken open, so it seemed an apt buy for me. I really appreciated the honest, open tone of Elizabeth Lesser's style of writing. "A heart made crooked through loss and change is a heart that can love the world and its less than perfect people." So true. After you lose someone, you appreciate so much more what you have. You're less willing to waste time on the petty and look for the more enriching experiences in life. Change, as difficult as it is many times, brings those experiences. Life is so much more if we're open to receiving it. Elaine Williams

one of the few books on self improvement and growth that is readable. it is fast, insightful and useful. I read it at a time when things we going great for me and I had no idea how bad they were going to get. Some of the stuff in it came back during hard times and gave me strength and hope. I would definitly give this book a chance. personally i think books such as these, come to you. u shoud read them if u can relate to them, or else u will get bored or feel they r useless.

I'm not at all into self help books....but this is one i'm glad i tried out.
So i do highly recommend this book to others skeptical of the self help genre.

This book was recommended to me by an acquaintance. While it has a decidedly Buddhist tilt to me, as a Buddhist, it is filled with bittersweet, tender stories of pain, emergence from struggle or devastation, and rebirth with wings aloft (as in the mythical story of the phoenix which is prominently featured in the book). The book reads easily and captivates you page after page, leading you onwards and upwards in the author's marvelous and insightful journey through darkness into light. Death, illness, divorce, almost every dimension of the human experience is covered with the author's deft brushstroke, generating that occasional feeling when reading a wonderful book of having read something enlightening and meaningful.

Very simply, Elizabeth Lesser is an amazing teacher and story teller. Some day I will take one of her workshops in person.

Lorna Kelley's book had a profound effect on my life when I was early in my sobriety. I heard her speaking , and went out and bought this book. She is an inspired speaker and writer and her valuable life lessons and story of transformation make her one of the best authors I have ever encountered. I agree that this book needs to be made into a movie and I think she has to write another soon!

Extraordinary spiritual and personal journey. The author brilliantly transported me to a world totally unknown to me and I was hooked. The author allows the reader to witness the loving and nurturing relationship she developed with Mother Theresa.. It was an honor to be a part of the lives of these two woman, if only for a brief time.

This is a lovely read of a beautiful journey, one from British schoolgirl to Sotheby's auctioneer to volunteer in Calcutta, India. Her tale puts a face on a spiritual quest for Jesus which is inspiring, uplifting, and encouraging. Great story-telling and a wonderful and rare insight into Mother Theresa and her world. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

This is one of the best books I have read in many years. It was inspiring, sad, funny and has changed my life. What a gift Lorna has given to many.

I was very touched by this true story of an intelligent person struggling to come to terms with her past, her family, grief, alcoholism, the material world and all the ills of everyday life. Beautifully and artfully written. The writer is no saint but, after one reads this book, her pure heart in unquestioned. Her sainthood (if I may use the word) is in her humanity and divine inclination to do good. She is like you and I struggling to exist and make a difference in this tragic world. In spite of all the material conforts and easy life, she is the poorer of the poor. I highly recommend this book to anybody looking for a good read to inspire both the heart and the spirit. Rick Thomas has a distorted view on what Biblical principles really are. He wants you to order his "pamphlet" when you can get the same information from any late night infomercial. These ideas are merely regurgitated thoughts spewed from the mouths of the likes of Jim Baker, Robert Tilton, Jimmy Swaggert and so on.

Dr. Thomas makes it both real and compelling with practical application. If you ever wondered how you could apply Philippians 2:5 to your life, then you should read this book.

Life transforming book by Dr Thomas. He has captured not only the mind of God but his heart. This book is is amazing reading.

This Book has change my life, in a new direction. I couldn't afford to buy it, but i needed my life to be challange so i saved 15.00 from my lunch money to purchase this book, and the revelation I got from reading it was so amazing my peception of living has change tremendesly and i am ready to presue those dreams that God has placed in me, i am ready to soar to the next level in Christ Jesus. I have to concur with the others, if I had only two books with me on a desert island, one would be my Bible, and the other would be this book (hedging out my other stand-by: The Institutes of the Christian Religion). I am awe-struck by the gifts of wisdom, insight and understanding that the Lord worked in the heart and mind of this saint, William Gurnall! I can't wait to get home to pick up where I left off, it is that dear to me.

It's loaded to the gunwales with insights; the author has an understanding of spiritual warfare and of the human heart that is simply astounding. One might sit down and study Owen, or Edwards, et al, to great profit (I have), but I believe there's probably nothing better for the final fifteen minutes of the day than a read from Gurnall to pierce beneath the Old Man's fifth rib, to set the tempter on his heels, and to drive one to repentance. A better devotional work to leave a soul begging forgiveness for his 'till-that-moment hidden sin I have never found. That's William Gurnall. He not only trains for war, he reveals sin and generates prayer.

I looked at the abridgement online, the one separated into daily readings, and I believe that this unabridged edition is definitely better.

If only every Christian would read this pearl of great price, this treasure trove of godly wisdom...

Read this manual of obedience and spiritual warfighting and you will inevitably draw closer to your Lord! Read it prayerfully and you will advance noticeably in your discipleship.

Many Christians, such as myself, can divide the days of their Christian experience into pre-Reformed and Reformed. I can safely say that my devotional life can now be divided into pre- and post-Gurnall.

As you read this review, wondering whether to purchase this book, your unseen foes tremble with a trepidation that is most justified indeed. Christ owns His enemies, and He raised up a Field Marshal in William Gurnall to help His sheep do likewise.

William Gurnall is a writer for all seasons. His work, specially the modern abridgment, speaks so clearly and so directly to this generation. You can read a few sentences and pause because you have been amazed at the relevancy of His comments. This is a work that you will cherish reading. You will never be tempted to rush through reading it. Few writers have been able to hold my attention as William Gurnall. C.S Lewis would be the other one. But of course no book holds a candle to The Bible God's written revelation. Don't leave this century without reading this book.

The content of this book is excellent; however, the old style in which it is written made it difficult to read. The revised version in modern english is "an essntial addition to any Christians library.

I can't put this book down, William Gurnall was truly a man inspired by the Word of God. How has this book be overlooked by our modern church? The this book should be a requirement for graduation from seminary. This book is a must for all Christians who feel something lacking, or for those who do not.
Besides the Bible, I have not read a book so powerful.

Compared to this great Puritan work, most modern books dealing with spiritual warfare appear dwarfed, and even trivial. Gurnall's massive exposition of Ephesians 6:10-20 is the product of a series of sermons preached in his church over many years. The book is at once profoundly biblical and at the same time always relevant.

William Gurnall lived during a time of great spiritual conflict in England, and this conflict directly led to the great civil war and the revolt against the king and his Church of England. Just as in the book of Revelation, where one's spiritual loyalties place him in deadly conflict, so in England, loyalty to Scripture placed Christians in the center of that nation's wars. Yet, while many followed the army's progress with great interest, Gurnall realized that an even greater conflict was being waged in their souls. As the pastor of the parish church at Lavenham, where he served all his active life in the ministry, Gurnall was more concerned with his people's souls than with the external progress of the conflicting parties in England. His long ministry encompassed the rise and fall of the Puritan cause. Because he remained in the Church of England after the Act of Uniformity, while thousands of strong Puritans withdrew and suffered as Nonconformists, Gurnall often was not respected by subsequent writers on both sides. His only lasting contribution to the struggle was his massive book, The Christian in Complete Armour.

Yet what a contribution that was! It was so popular with the people of England that it had passed through six editions by the year of his death. This book was a great blessing to John Newton, and was highly praised by Charles Haddon Spurgeon. It has continued over three hundred years inspiring Christians to stand against the devil. Gurnall begins with a call to realize that we are in a death-struggle with Satan and to take our stand and be prepared to fight. He then describes our armor and weapons, and the weapons employed by our great adversary. Each part of the armor is described at length, along with the means by which Christians can employ it in defense and offense against Satan. The book is full of spiritual insight, practical application, and inspiring word-pictures. We cannot read it without new determination to stand for the Lord and engage in true spiritual warfare--not the superficial warfare so often seen in the modern Charismatic movement, but the true and vital warfare of the Christian heart and life.

Gurnall's great book belongs in the library of every church and every Christian family. It makes wonderful devotional reading and produces spiritual fruit. Let Gurnall help you "fight the good fight of faith"!

Wow! This is a truly incredible book. I am reading it a second time, and no doubt will read it many more times, using it as a guide for living daily life. A must read!

Each chapter of this book has a short but powerful story pertaining to a wide variety of subjects about life and spirituality. There are wONderFuL quotations relevant to the subject and each chapter ends with "The Truth is...", which includes a quotation, and then "Reflections" "Realizations" and "Affirmations"

I have had this book for a few years now, and I pick it up occassionally and then don't want to stop reading it. There is so much wisdom in this book. Universal Laws throughout.

If you think you would get alot out of this book get it soon, if you think it isnt anything you would be interested in BUY IT NOW. This is one book that I can honestly say that if I had it years ago many of my recent lessons would either have not had to happen or in the case of the tragedies they would have been handled far better and with less guilt. Dr Demartini is a Genius and he honestly does utilize his wisdom every day.
If your realtionships are on the rocks with your family or perhaps someone who you are truly blessed to have CHOOSE to spend some of their precious time with you, Get this book. If you want to help someone from destroying something wonderful in their life buy this book for them, it will make them think....... maybe for the first time in years.
