Regarding the filed of personal growth: Analysis, introspection and application is like preparing, planting and harvesting a garden, so where most books teach you how to pull some weeds and tell you what your harvest should look like, Ken's book allows you to choose your destiny, help prepare the soil, plant your seeds of thought, and then actually experience the rewards.

As a psychologist I understand the importance of finding the right questions to help clarify issues. Ken Forster amassed a fortune in great questions! The book is categorized into 38 chapters that focus on the most important issues that we too often do not think about enough. The questions will stimulate anyone to think more, analyze their situation more carefully and reach a higher level of awareness as a result.
Some questions really require a well thought out elaborate answer, others can be just a yes or no. The deeper prize one gets going through this book is training your mind to search for the right questions on your own. If you were to actually answer all of the questions, I am sure that process would certainly launch you towards greater success. To put it simply, the basic concept of the book really resonates with me, if you ask, you will receive. Get this book and start answering the questions, you will observe faster progress in your life.

I found Ken Fosters book very useful in helping me focus on issues that were holding me back. By concentrating on one of the questions in the book at a time and writing down the answers as they evolved, I eventually arrived at a solution that showed me the action I needed to take.
This is a book that I will refer to frequently, such is the nature of life that I do not know which questions I will need to find answers for in the future, but I am sure that they will be in one of the sections of this book.
I am pleased that I bought the book and would recommend it to everyone searching for answers to their limiting questions.

I was fortunate to meet Ken and his wife in San Diego, through a series of synchronicities, that led me to meet the author of this book, Ask And You Will Succeed. I bought this book several months ago, and I found the questions powerful. The book is easy to read, and one must be reflective when you read some of the questions. They carry great importance, and it seemed like every sort of question and covers all areas of life improvement. It's easy to reference and find a topic that you can refer to, and I didn't even read it in chronological order! I just found the section that was most needed and learned these amazingly powerful questions, which when asked, and answered by your subcounscious, do create results, as things start showing up in your life. I would highly recommend you get this book, ask and you will succeed.

I have been utilizing Ken's book in my private practice and in my personal relationships from the moment I received it. Ken inherently understands the value of asking empowering questions and how effective the process is in helping others cut through the mental clutter to reach their own inspiring conclusions. His questions move us beyond the story of who we think we are into who we are destined to become.

The Impossible Will Take a Little While: A Citizen's Guide to Hope in a Time of Fear
I read this book several years back and was just recommending it again today. I was giving up hope for America every recovering from the abuse of power we were suffering under the BushII administration, I came away realizing that little things done by everyday people do make a difference.
I don't understand why one reviewer thinks this is a "leftist" book. It's about standing up for your rights as a citizen and learning from others who have done the same thing.
I guess people who buy into "be afraid, be very afraid, 9/11, 9/11... if we don't fight them over there they will come here.." won't like this book. But I think that is a very small fringe minority.
Anyone who believes in Democracy and is proud to be an American will understand that our contry and other country's struggles give us common ground.

Good things are possible, keep at it, it will take a while, but, it is not impossible! Even the review here at Amazon by Ms. Nina Rosenberg shows the uphill distance we have to go. Let's all keep walking, and even invite Ms Rosenberg along, maybe offer her a cup of tea. Anyhow, I loved this book and feel that we need to sometimes focus on what is good, and what HAS been accomplished and try to understand how it was acomplished so that we too may pave the way to greater peace, for all. Yes, not just for the USA, but for all citizens of the world. If you liked this book, I suspect you might also enjoy a book on non-violence called "nonviolence: twenty five lessons" by Mark Kurlansky.

Wonderful textbook on finding meaning in seemingly coincidental experiences in life. This textbook gave me a sense of calm as I considered the concepts from the author. It is packed full of ideas for finding ways to make you life flow with meaning.

Despite the attendant new agey inclinations, I would like to say that most of the stuff in this book are really worth exploring. There are fourteen practical techniques based on indepth interviews with fifty people who had lived at high levels of flow.
Personally, and through adaptation and experimentation, I have played with varied forms of most of the techniques.
To read this book, and apply the stuff, one must approach it with an open and curious mind. A sense of discovery and anticipation certainly helps. As an engineer trained with a logical and analytical mindset, I can well understand the fears and apprehension of many readers, as well as the cynicism of some early reviewers.
Synchronicity is hard to explain. It's also hard to prove its existence but it exists, whether you like it or not. To me, sometimes it's better not to intellectualise it. Just go with the flow.
Over the many years running my own business, and doing what I love and loving what I do, I have personally "engineered" the many flow moments described in this book. The fruits have been very rewarding and fulfilling.
I believe in the motto: No venture, No Gain. Life is a daring adventure, or nothing (according to Helen Keller).

I have been fascinated with "the flow" since the mid 1980s. I slowly learned more and more about it until the early 90s, when I began teaching a few classes on the subject, and eventually even wrote my own book about it (from a more traditionally spiritual point of view). How did I miss this book along the way? I just ran across it recently, and it is a very thorough exploration of this fascinating subject . . . containing lots of exercises and techniques designed to help you be and stay "in the flow." I recommend it. Enjoy!

I don't think this books was poorly written, as the 1-star reviewer did. But the whole flow/synchronicity angle is questionable, at best, and as the authors present it, it has about as much credibility as "crystal power," or pick-your-new-age-pabulum. Perhaps my problem is that I was expecting something less fluffy and new-agey.
The book relies heavily on anecdotes to show the power of flow, but they seem--to me--little more than the sort of fortuitous coincidences that we all occasionally experience. Many of the anecdotes illustrate coincidences that are similar, but beyond that similarity apparently meaningless. The authors' suggestion that we can make meaning out of anything we want to is, of course, silly.
I tried some of the exercises, and did not find them particularly effective. Nor did I notice fewer or more synchronicities in my life...coincidences happen, whether I will them to or not.
Some of the sections of this book are so empty of substance that I wonder how they got past an editor. The chapter on divination, for instance--there is nothing there but the broadest imagineable survey of different divination systems like astrology, tarot, I Ching...nothing about how to use them, of course.
Your mileage may vary. If you dig the whole new age angle in your self-improvement books, you might love this.

I use Matt Weinstein's collection as one of my regular meditation books, picking whatever chapter speaks to my needs that day. The topic "Dogs Don't Hold a Grudge" is especially good for me. I want to let go of grudges as easily as my canine friends do. I watch dogs at the park going after a toy or treat, missing out, then running away with their tails still wagging. I want to be able to drop resentments on the spot the way they do. This book is full of affection and appreciation for dogs and what they can show us about living a happier, saner life. I keep coming back for more copies of the book because it makes such a wonderful gift for friends. One friend told me he was reading book in the airport in the crowded gate area and couldn't hide his tears.

This is a truly charming little book and charming is not a word I use much. In it we are treated to 67 brief essays on life lessons that we humans can learn from our dogs. Each two- to three-page essay begins with a well-chosen quote, and a picture related to the theme of the essay. The pictures themselves are almost worth the price of admission. The quotes are often spot on, and sometimes quite amusing. I often thought, "I wish I'd said that."
Now, I really don't want to give away any punch lines, but I can't resist sharing this one from page 7.
"A headline in the National Enquirer reads, HEARTLESS WOMAN TRIES TO TRADE CHILD FOR A CHIHUAHUA. Even though I have verified that this is an actual news item, I still have trouble believing it. First of all, anyone who knows anything about children knows that even the worst child should bring more than a Chihuahua in trade. A halfway decent child should bring at least a small terrier or perhaps even a collie."
I found most of the essays to be worth reading and, every so often, they brought me up short and motivated me to dog-ear the page.
My New Year's Resolution is to savor one lesson each week to see what I can learn from my dogs.

I picked this book up without studying it too closely;and before I finished the first chapter, I knew I was in for a real treat.First of all,the book is not made up of chapters, but 67 Lessons. At first, one would think these are chapters to teach the dog,but you'll quickly realize that the dog has already got things pretty well figured out ,and it's you who can learn from him.I can't help calling my dog him, even though she is a female.See,I've had this problem ever since I was a little kid, when I thought cats were girls and dogs were boys.
The authors point out so many traits about dogs that anyone who has had them ,probably always knew, but maybe hadn't paid as much attention to,and benefited from the lessons we can learn from them.We all take great pride from seeing the things dogs have learned to do and even some things we have taught them;but how many of us think about the things they naturally know and can teach us.There are a lot of great dog pictures in the book, but I think it's a shame that none of them included any of the people where these dogs were part of the family. Also pictures of the Weinsteinand their dogs would have been appreciated and added a lot to the book.I believe the picture on page 268 is priceless and struck a note with me .We have a lady friend who lives along our stroll route ,who is confined with MS and we often drop in for a little visit. When we do,she holds my little dog and I can almost hear the dog say,"Come on,cheer up,everything's going to be better" ,nd they are for a few minutes. We all know they're not,but the dog just isn't going to buy into that.Anyone who's been around dogs know they live for the presrnt. An essential part of a dogs life is the people around them and we all know their happiest times are when around people.Whether you are walking with them, playing games with them or they are just napping beside you as you are occupied, all they want is to be 'with' you.
We have had a dog as part of our family for over 40 years;shortly after we were first married,as our three kids grew up,and now when we have grandchildren. We lost Binki after 16 years in February and thought maybe it would be the end of having a dog.It didn't last long,we got Bailey,in September, and we now are back to normal with a little 4 pound bundle of joy.She is a Yorkie ,probably won't get to be much more than about 7 pounds, and more than half of that will be heart and maybe the rest will be terror. She has already assumed her place in the family and captured the hearts of not only my wife and I,but everyone else in the family, particularly the grandchildren.
She is also making friends with everyone the street.Even some of our neighbours who do not have dogs are 'adopting' her,and come out to see her whenever we go by.And then there are all the other dogs we have to socialize with in our little stroll. But you know what,I thinks she enjoys the people friends she meets as much ,if not more than, the other dogs.
After all these years of having dogs as part of the family,I know I am going to learn a lot more about and from our new dog;simply for having read this book.
Now as I get ready for our next stroll,in the pocket goes this book, and the first couple, dog and owner,is going to get it to read, and when they are finished,on to another, until I get them all to read it.
In the words of the great Songwriter and Singer,Tom T.Hall;
"The only thing in this ole' world that's ever worth a dime,
is old dogs and children, and watermellon wine".
If you have a dog, this book is a must read.

"Ordinarily we call our dogs in an effort to get them to come to us. In this book our dogs call out to us to imagine how we might be able to live a more satisfying, doglike life." ~ Matt Weinstein and Luke Barber
Matt Weinstein and Luke Barber have created a beautiful tribute to dogs everywhere. The type of dog that loves life and becomes a part of the family.
With quotes from Vincent Van Gogh, Richard Carlson and John Lennon, this is quite the unique read and the pictures add even more personality. The funniest picture in this book is a delightful picture of three poodles in a bucket. What makes it especially funny is the quote on the next page. There is an abundance of fun, snuggly advice like:
"For the next week, show your love to those you hold dear as if you were a dog. Run to greet them when they come in the door. Shower them with attention, affection, and kindness (although you may want to draw the line at licking them on the face). If you see that your loved ones are suffering, try to help them by sitting close and snuggling up to them. Let them know that you are there for them."
Each of the sixty-seven lessons presents puppy wisdom in all its playful spontaneity. Dogs are not only good company, they are obsessed with being happy, provide lots of laughs, cultivate their curiosity and show a caring loving compassionate side.
This is a book about the best of canine life with very little emphasis on the wilder side, say where a dog is chasing you while on your bike and you are wondering where that chapter is in this book. The mood is pleasant and nurturing and the chapters are filled with anecdotes, real-life stories and quotes. If you are thinking about adopting a puppy, this book will surely lead you in the right direction.

Farm Team is a book about fourteen-year old Billy Baggs, who lives in the town of Flint. Billy is a baseball player but can't play on the Town Team because he has to work his family's farm while his Dad is in jail. Billy's mom puts flyers up so people will come to their farm and play baseball once a week.
After a few Fridays of the Farm Team playing, Billy realized that they're not that bad. Billy tells Coach Anderson, who is helping out each Friday, that they could beat his Town Team. Coahc Anderson and the Farm Team agree to have a game to see who is better. Everyone in Flint hears about it and alot come.
This is a quick and good read. I recommend this book to anyone that plays or likes sports. It is a good baseball book. From the baseball diamond to the jail cells, Will Weaver describes the scenes in this book really well. The baseball games in this book are also described well. He uses baseball vocabulary that adds to the description of the book.

Farm Team was a good choice for me to choose. In a case where I do not like to read, this book caught my attention. Will Weaver wrote about a boy, Billy Baggs who never has time to play his favorite sport, baseball because he works on his farm so much. Billy loves baseball and wants to play it during the summer. He has so much work on his farm he has no time so his mother tells him to make a field on the farm. Billy is asked to play on his school team, but when his father gets him in trouble with the police he has little time to play at school. When Billy's father destroys a car lot Billy has to take over the farm for the summer because Abner got arrested for what he did. Abner destroyed the car lot because Randy Meyer's had sold Billy's mother a cheap car. It was rusted all over and the paint was chipping. Billy has little time to play so every Friday night he has baseball games on the field he made.
This book was very entertaining to me. I haven't really found a book this good and that I have enjoyed and actually read. This book shows sacrifices people have to make to support their family. Farm Team kept my attention through the whole book. The most exciting scene I read about was when Abner destroyed the car lot. I could picture everything that was going on and the expressions on Randy Meyer's face. He was the car dealer that ripped of Billy's family. I could fully understand this book and what the author was representing. This especially was a sports book which interests me even more. I can somewhat relate to stories about sports. Farm Team is a book I would recommend to anyone. It would be a great book to read to someone interested in sports and ways to help out others. The best part of the book is it's about a farm boy. It's a weird story but enjoyable for anybody.

This was one of my favorite books that I have ever read. This book talks about a farm boy that wants s to play summer baseball, but he has to much work to do at home. During the winter his dad Abner bought a new car that he got from up town. He did not know that the bottom has been repainted and now it starting to fall apart. They have a big bulldozer and Abner likes to take things in his own hands, so he and Billy went to take the old cat up town so that he can ruin the cars and the office where he bought the car. The cars were all smashed and they started on fire. Abner then started to bulldozer down the office that is when the police showed up. They could not stop Abner from ruining the car lot.Once Abner thought that he was done he quite and put the big cat back on to the trailer. Billy at the time was on top of the truck. It was time for the planting. That is why Abner got really mad when they made him go to jail. Billy is only fourteen and he had to bring the truck back home. Once he got home he had to get the milking done. Billy is a pitch on the baseball team. He never had time to practice or to play, but he loved the sport. His coach said that he would help him out if he could just play baseball. Billy told him that there will always be a next year. Billy had to do the all the milking and feed all of the cows twice a day. He also has to do all the ground work and the planting. Billy's mom does not think that this is a very good ideal that Billy is going to run the farm this summer. She does not like it because she thinks that it will take his whole summer away from all of his friends. Billy this is all that he has ever wanted was to run the farm all by him. Then once he gets into summer he starts to miss his baseball. His mom and he build a baseball field out in the west pastor. They have baseball games every Friday night after the all the work is done.
I have really enjoyed this book because I am a farmer. I also now what he is going through. A couple of years ago I had the choice to go and play baseball or to help out with the farm. I liked the book a lot and I would have done the same thing if I was Billy.
The people that I think would like to read this book are people that are farm kids because I think that some of the terms that it uses in the book people would not understand what he is talking about when he does the milking and the feeding.

We never know what the consequences of are actions will be it all depends on what direction you take with your life. Billy found this to be true when him and his dad committed a crime. Since Billy is still a minor he does not go to jail but has to take care of the family farm until his dad gets out.
Billy bags family is pretty normal his dad is a farmer and his mom works at a doctors office but wile his dad is in jail Billy is responsible for the farm work as baseball season goes on his mom comes up with an idea to start having baseball come to the farm .
Through the bags family tragedy it reminds him of his older brother when he starts playing or when he is pitching he always feels present
Sometimes you learn new things about people and it is not always bad although something's he doesn't what his want his dad to find out a few things until a few years later.
If you like farm life and baseball this would be a good book for you to read because it involves both. It tells the story that if you wanted to do fun things than you have to do what needs to be done before you can do fun things.

I hate to sound harsh but I found this to be just another book with stories and examples to make the reader feel good. The author tells the reader if you aren't motivated then others can't motivate you and yet that is the underlying premise of this whole book. Would not recommend to anyone serious about wanting insight to leadership, coaching or anything near the two.

As an educator and an advocate for youth, it has significantly affected me and the way I conduct my profession. Read this, it will be one of the best choices you'll ever make, and it takes no talent to do it!

If you do, you will add value to yourself, add value to others and accomplish more than you dreamed was possible.
This is an excellent book that can be applied in the real world. As an IT Project Manager, I was able to apply the learnings from the section on Teamwork to inspire my project team.
Other books on the same subject seemed very philosophical "common sense" with no practical actionable take aways. This book, however, explains things in very analytical format with examples that I could relate to, both personally & professionally. Recommended!

I keep a copy of this nearby in my office and pull it out for an instant smile or laugh anytime. The quotes are all short simple sentences that provide immediate gratification. If someone visits my office in a bad mood I have them open the book to a random page to find their quote for the day.
A favorite - "If I act incompetent, people will take care of me".
I highly recommend this as a gift for anyone who has a sense of humor or needs one. It is clean humor -- sarcastic humor that most people can relate to on an average day. It is a great investment, I've had my copy for about 4 years and have bought over 10 copies for gifts.

I think that this is one of the best bereavement books I have ever read. No matter what the conditions were of your childs' death, you will find yourself in this book. This book drives home that we may be thrown into a different world when our child dies, but we bereaved parents all share many common similarities in feelings and thoughts. This book helps a bereaved parent realize that they are not alone in their grief; the emotions they are feeling are 'normal'. I would recommend this book to anyone who has lost a child and any family member or friend who knows someone who has lost a child.

This book was not very helpful in coping with the loss of my child, who died recently from cancer at the age of four. (Brain tumor) The book rambles and jerks from scene to scene, taking you to different losses of children from around the world and throughout time. It actually made me more sad. The foreword by Rabbi Harold Kushner was more helpful. I would not recommend this book to the newly bereaved parent.

This is a very thorough book written by Moonstone who speaks of the importance of acknowledging the power of feelings and emotions to our earth existence. Moonstone explains that we each have power over our own lives and that this power comes by "living through" and examining our feelings. "As mirrors of The One we exercise full creative power over the reality we find ourselves in....Surrendering to the feeling of what is happening now is the path to grace."
Moonstone tells readers the benefits of being fearless enough to be vulnerable to our feelings and emotions. "You must become vulnerable...for new possibilities to reveal themselves. Our vulnerable moments are the most potent with learning potential. It invites deep realizations within the soul."
Moonstone also outlines why getting in touch with our emotions is essential to attracting the things we want in life. "When a person intends to create something, the more emotion or feeling that is attached to the intention, the more surely the manifestation will occur. If the fear of or resistance to experiencing something is greater than the confident expectation of a desired result, fear or resistance actually brings the undesired outcome into existence."
This book is a must read for those who call themselves Seekers and/or for anyone who wishes to lead a more passionate, full and energetic life.

While I appreciate the time and effort it takes to write a book, I did not enjoy this one. I was bored with both the author's writing style and much of the content. I tried to keep an open mind and read it in small doses. Nevertheless, her radical and sometimes bizarre views were too much for me to buy into.
While I appreciate the open and honest life experiences presented by the writer, I did not find her reactions to frustration, life choices and behavior as something to emulate. I found myself wondering why I was reading this book and what possible value it could have for me.
I did not care for this book; however, most reviewers thus far indicated that they enjoyed the book. Accordingly, you might want to read all of the reviews before making you mind up whether this is something you would like to read.

Moonstone Star White has given us, the readers, a great tool to help us live our life to the fullest by using our own skills and empowerment. She challenges each of us to dig deep within ourselves and pull out all we have to make those needed changes.
Initially when the reader started this book, she was not impressed. It seemed to me to be another book that was so technical, so full of philosophies that she did not want to continue reading. However, once the reader kept an open mind and took her time to read it became more clear the author's intentions.
The information on life isn't always going to be fair, and life is what you make it really makes the reader stop and think. Why should we go through life blaming others for what went wrong in our life? We and only we have the power to turn those negatives into positives. So what is stopping us? As the author says "you have to work at it." And in this fast-paced world where we want everything now-- we don't want to work.
Through "High Way From Hell" we are able to learn to go with our feelings, examine our everyday lives and learn to become the "living." A great read.

Award winning book that compares favorable with anything offered in its genre today. If you've enjoyed the writings of Wayne Dyer, Jerry & Esther Hicks, Eckart Tolle, and Marianne Moore you'll be dazzled by Moonstone Star White's Highway From Hell. Indeed, few books compare to Highway From Hell for the depth of its exploration of the role of emotion and perception in our lives as a means toward enlightenment.
This is one of those books that you will read and re-read for its fresh insights and for its treatment of issues that we all struggle with--some chapter headings: "Finding your Niche in a World with One Mission", "Your experience Demonstrates your Truth", "The Four Aspects of Experience", "Integrity and Self-Love." The book is organized into aptly titled chapters which provide an instant reference to your inquiry of interest. "If the body is the temple of the soul, the mind and emotions are its gatekeepers" begins one eloquent chapter that explains how experience is a catalyst for change and growth.
Written in first person, Highway From Hell is an intimate guide to understanding the power of our emotions, and the sometimes elusive empowerment of both self-acceptance and change.
As a voracious reader of books about spiritual growth, enlightenment, the power of attraction and realizing one's potential--and as a publisher of a magazine dedicated to spiritual enlightenment and education, I place this book among the top ten books in this genre that I would recommend to anyone. --Publisher, The Light, A Journal of Holistic Health, Spiritual Growth and Metaphysical Growth.

To say "I LOVE THIS BOOK", is an understatement. I bought "I will not die a unlived life" in the early 2000's and never read it. It sat on a bookshelf and then ended up with a handful of book I took with me when I moved away. It's amazing how the Universe works. The book kept falling out of wherever It was I stuck it, I don't know how many times it did this before I caught on. I read the Poem "Living Wide Open: Landscapes of the Mind" and I was hooked. I felt like a Phoenix, I was dying off, but I was ready to be re-born and this book started that process.
I was on a Spiritual Quest, I just didn't know it yet, Dawna jump started this process. From the first page I was captivated and have read it at least 7 times I know of. Each time using a different colored pen or marker to underline new passages I need or like, my book is so worn it's falling apart. If you feel there is something you just can't put your finger on BUY THIS BOOK, it will lead you to what it is your missing.
Thank you Dawna, you changed my life FOREVER

At a certain level, I see I WILL NOT DIE AN UNLIVED LIFE as an important treatice for women at a demarcation point in their spiritual journies. I hesitate to call it a "chick book," although I do believe it will appeal to more women than men. I, however, am a man that was drawn by the title and then mesmerized by the content. Ms. Markova gifts her readers with a stunning and intimate look inside her beautiful Soul, and she never winces when we can't help but but stare right back. The book has quite simply yet irrevocably changed my life. It relentlessly yet tenderly asked questions of me that I had been too afraid to ask myself. She invites a deep and thorough inner exploration, and she artfully demonstrates the journey by revealing the profound depths of her own inner quest.
The look inside of the author is at once breathtaking and life giving. She not only shares of her own inner landscape, but I came away with not only a knowing but also a love for her family and her day-to-day life experiences. The rawness of certain passages left me in tears. Her candor and courage are nothing short of spectacular.
This book is a must read for anyone who suspects that that they are living a life too small for who they are at depth. There is no longer any reason to die an unlived or an unloved life. This pioneer of human heart-intelligence has led the way through an inquiry that will lead to a fullness of passionate purpose that leaves one transfixed and transformed. I have and will continue to give this book to people I love enough to want to shake them from the rafters of habitual mediocrity. Buy the book- and then enter courageously. You have nothing to lose except a false sense of self.

Profound. That's about it in a nutshell. Friends have picked this book up at my house and then have gone out and bought their own copy. The words just wash over me and are calming to my soul, almost meditative - absolutely not preachy. I read the poem or at least say the words, "I will not die an unlived life" everyday.
